We probably won't circumsise. It seems like most motivators are cultural rather than medical so we're considering. My husband's friends are mostly physicians and none of them have circumsized their sons and are in fact quite adamant about it. They've recommended a documentary I need to watch before we confirm!
Nausea tip: I used to live in Asia and still have a bunch of these menthol inhalers kicking around. Omg they are so helpful. They used to be my hangover saviors, how the times have changed.
I think you are probably good with parmesan! Its a hard cheese - usually its more the soft unpasteurized cheeses that could potentially contain listeria that you have to watch out for (ex: queso fresco). The book 'Expecting Better' is really good about breaking down some of these pregnancy 'rules' and giving an explanation on where the statistics come from and what to really be on the look out for. But of course do whatever you are most comfortable with! For any foods you want to avoid, you could always say you are on a diet? Or just don't want to eat that dish tonight.
I'm not wearing them this pregnancy yet but these are bomb. I have two sets and ready to pull them out of storage any day now.
I tried the kindred bravely style and although I love their bras I hated the underwear. Fit was just so weird on me and I'm a pretty standard shape 🤷🏼♀️.
I got the okay from my doctor during my first pregnancy. Expecting Better has a good section on it if you’re worried.
Constant eating is the only thing that’s worked for me so far, but I’m already overweight and really don’t need the weight gain so I’m desperately trying to find a new solution. My friend recommended these acupressure bracelets so fingers crossed they work for me as well as they did for her. I get them tomorrow.
It's never too early for a pregnancy pillow! My husband bought me this one and it's been great for resting my sore boobs. I'm 5'5 and it's plenty long enough for me, I guess it depends on how you sleep.
I use watercolor red. I've been using it for three months and it works great! It's not great for oily scalps though, so I mix it in my palm with a little generic hypoallergenic/sulfate free shampoo. If my color looks really faded, I shampoo twice and let it sit for a few minutes each time. It doesn't cover roots, but the rest of my hair looks pretty fresh.
The British Gaviscon Advance is the BEST reflux med on earth. It’s different (and safer for pregnancy) than the double action or US version.
I'm sorry, early pregnancy is so hard. The Expectful app has great pregnancy-related meditations if you might find that helpful. I also got this workbook to help channel my anxieties. Loss is real, but most pregnancies end in babies. Reminding myself that every day!
If you look at the top comment on reviews for the Amazon listing for FRER, there is a really awesome person who very meticulously tested out the FRERs and some cheapie LH tests with precise amounts of HCG. It helped me a ton with my first pregnancy!
I personally like the under-the-bump underwear better. They actually stay in place really well. I feel like over-the-bump ones dig in. These are the ones I got this time, and they're really comfortable.

We are! He is Chinese, I am white. We are both aware that neither of us will be able to understand our kids experience of being mixed race since neither of us are mixed. I got this book about raising multiracial children that was well written. https://www.amazon.ca/Raising-Multiracial-Children-Nurturing-Racialized/dp/162317449X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=raising+multiracial+children&qid=1626969607&sprefix=raising+mul&sr=8-1
In my first pregnancy, heck even before kids were even on the radar, I was so looking forward to getting one of those huge wraparound pillows. After dropping over $100 turns out I hated it (even though I sleep in a veritable nest of pillows each night). Turns out what felt best for me was a minimalist belly wedge pillow, like under $20 CAD this is the one https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B019D3U10S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_4FCT2KAB6W21XD8ZVBS3
I started a pregnancy journal with my first, but never finished it because I was just writing, “Ugh, I’m so sick today. Again. Just like yesterday,” over and over. The journal even has writing prompts, but it seemed like my answers were always something about feeling sick.
Now I just have an agenda book that I use as a daily journal because it has just enough room for 3-4 sentences about my day, which is about more than just pregnancy. And I keep my Dr appointments in my phone’s calendar app.
Once baby comes, I really liked having a baby memory journal to keep track of milestones (although it got depressing with Covid because all my answers about what we did for baby’s first holidays were the same: dressed up in a cute holiday outfit and sat at home).
Spectra S2 is amazing and free with insurance. S1 is battery powered, but my upgrade price is $90, so if you just need portability for the car you can get this adapter for $10 and it works great with the S2 🙂
Athese barf bags are so worth it. We got some for a road trip a few years ago, and they've come in handy many times. I always keep some in the glove box of both our vehicles.
I highly recommend this one. I used it my last pregnancy and can’t wait to break it out again. Bonus, it comes in a 55in length or 60in! I bought the 55in and am 5’7” for reference. I like the length but I also sleep kinda scrunched up in the fetal position.
finally shared my excel doc of stuff to buy and the babylist registry (that is def full of redundant items lol) with my husband. He is laughing at half the items, especially the owlet sock, the rocker chair, and the outlet covers (all of our outlets have surge protectors and are basically hidden behind furniture and hard to get to).
Now he is getting targeted ads like this. Now I'm annoyed - we are both homebrewers (I was president of our club for 2 years and events officer for 2 years after that!!), so where is the Brew Mom shirt?!? I friggen fermented the thing...he just pitched the yeast...hmm, that sounds too gross, apologies for that possibly graphic visual haha.
Your results may vary, but my doctor said it’s fine, and actually preferable to doing your hair yourself because a salon likely has better ventilation than a small bathroom at home. Expecting Better has a good section on it as well.
I got a wedge pillow last pregnancy and it really helped. I got it during my 3rd trimester after waking up literally drowning in stomach acid - I seriously thought I was going to die.
My doctor said no to both, so I feel like I have to listen to him, but I’m pretty sure there’s a section in Expecting Better about how baths should be okay.
I bought mine late second trimester with my son and wish I had gotten it earlier. Thanks for the reminder to break it out now! I have the PharMeDoc C-shaped pillow and love it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KIQH2VU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FN14CMECJG0J878ZQTRW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Definitely not too early, I’m already obsessed with mine
>I want to go to sleep until my OB appointment in July.
Right there with you!
This might sound weird but I've been using the mynoise.net white noise generator to help me stay calm. I especially like the "driving in the rain" one.
We really love the Boon Cactus Bottle Brush Set. I keep it on the windowsill behind our sink, and the container is in two pieces so that any moisture left on the brushes drops into the bottom while they dry. Plus it's so cute! It also seems really sturdy compared to other ones we've used.
Of course! I knew I wanted a one-sided one that didn’t wrap around since I move around a lot in my sleep, so I pulled the trigger on this one:
Momcozy Pregnancy Pillow for Body Support, J Shaped Maternity Pillow with Removable Jersey Cover, Soft Pregnancy Body Pillow for Side Sleeping Head Neck Belly Support, Grey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093BQJR2Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MASQF8W3CNVFW62DB6AK
I recently got this one and legitimately look forward to going to bed all day (both because fatigue is real(!) but also because it’s just so cozy!)
PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KIQH2VU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I used to have tons of neck pain when I slept on my side but a few months ago I got a cervical support pillow and I'm never going back, it's been a total game changer. I still flip between my back and sides but it's the best for both! Don't know what I'm going to do for a pregnancy pillow to keep me on mt side though, maybe one of those wedges. My friend let me borrow her u shaped one for a few nights but it was a disaster for my neck.
This is the pillow I got https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07SHC9FG3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_QKNDZEGX4CY6ZH9B8KW3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You can get relatively inexpensive c-shaped pillow on Amazon if you want to test it out. The one I just replaced was about $30ish - this one . Might be a good starter pillow for you!
I ended up going with this one Purely because the price was cheaper and it could get to me the same day. It’s definitely even better today now that it’s been out of the box longer!
I'm living in a Kindred Bravely Bra since I just outgrew my regular D cup bras and they have a busty version.
I got this book for my husband and he liked it. It's broken down by weeks and each week is about two pages in length, so it's easy to keep up with the reading.
Ok I just checked, magnesium citrate is what I was told is ok. Here is the link to the specific brand they recommended. It happens a lot once the baby is here too. I drink my coffee out of a travel mug even when I’m at home now - got tired of reheating it and forgetting it in the microwave. (Edit to add: the Contigo auto seal travel mugs keep it hot for hours!)
I saw a car seat on Amazon the other day and in the reviews/comments they said you could put 3 of them side by side on one seat with plenty of room and it would work stupendously. Idk about the Prius, but you could measure! I'm not sure if it was this one or not but it's worth looking into comments on some of them!
I got this one last time and holy balls, it’s amazing. Huge hit in the Nov 2019 bumpers group too.
This doesn’t have as high of a neckline, but it looks like it would keep you covered quite well and grow with you, plus it has good reviews.

I looovvvvvee these nursing bras - I wore them all through pregnancy #1 and nursing for my first and am currently in one now! They are very comfy.
I am a DD and never thought I would want to sleep in a bra but it got to a point in my first pregnancy that it was much more comfortable to wears bra to bed. I haven't started yet this pregnancy.
Specifically I liked to sleep in these bras https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T8YPWW8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share, also great for post partum and breastfeeding. I've been wanting to check out true and co! Do they have a referral system I can put you down for?
Others have recommended Lil miss big sis https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0062993445/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_MN05V73XC8TQRNR4XCHM and Mr Rogers New Baby https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0399212361/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_PXRWHZRJ2JC5AYEZMVBR
Oh, these sound like they would be perfect for you then! I don't really leak much, but I wanted something that would kind of pump a bit while LO was nursing on the other side. Here. Looks like they have two sizes, too!
I am craving spicy food like crazy! Especially these bad boys - the Samyang Buldak Hot Chicken noodles. I've had probably 3 or 4 packs in the past week. Might need to upgrade to the 2X spice here soon haha.
I got this one and I absolutely love it! It's not specifically a pregnancy pillow, but it's nicely firm and actually holds it's shape. I had a pregnancy pillow with regular stuffing last time and it didn't hold it's shape after a couple months.
Check this graph out, it shows you when you can expect nausea to dissipate - it’s my favorite thing to consult during first trimester! https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Clinical-practice.-Nausea-and-vomiting-in-Niebyl/70143acf2f6d6d990478589fc332586f6b1b9c10/figure/0
You might get your iron checked at your next appointment. When my iron gets really low (like below 5 ng/mL), I find myself getting short of breath very easily, especially in masks that sit right against my mouth.
I ended up getting some pouch masks (N95 Pouch Respitators I find them much easier to breathe in when my iron is really low.
It looks like the specific one my mom got “Nova Baby Swing” on Amazon is out of stock right now. It didn’t even show up with a search. But this is another one I had considered. I think it’s just like $20 more than the nova one but still way cheaper than Mamaroo.
Thank you! I hope it passes for you, too! Solidarity in our sleeplessness 😂
I've tried a few things now, each with varying degrees of success. But I will say I've noticed that having a "tool kit" I can pull from has been nice! Makes me feel a little less helpless in the moment.
Hope the sleep fairies are good to you tonight!!!
I got a lot of complements on this tunic https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07FPJWW21/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Z6K9H981N78GGD5B1VDJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I also really liked this maternity/nursing dress with pockets! https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07R6C19CF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_0T717YP87Y9VFY1ASBPQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I’m doing a double stroller because my son will still be under 2 for a bit when baby girl comes, but I’m going with this Graco one that has options for the bigger kid, like standing or a bench seat. I’m still planning on using our Maxi Cosi single stroller on solo trips with baby girl because our infant car seat snaps onto it, but I really think I’m going to appreciate having a way to tote both kids around if need be.
Me! I usually take Excedrin Tension Headache or 1000mg Tylenol + a can of Coke. If it’s a really bad migraine my neurologist and OB both approved Fioricet for me and it helps tremendously. I also like using this!
I saw some nice ones at gap but they were super expensive.
Just ordered this one from Amazon. I’m normally xs or s depending on the brand but got this one at s: Summer Mae Maternity Swimsuit One Piece Bathing Suit Button Neck Cross Back https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y5K1DZF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PFCM3B0ZJ8XZD64K7QP2
If it fits I might get something like this one too
Maternity High Waist Bikini Swimsuit Two Piece Ruffled Hem Cute Floral Bathing Suit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CXCSK3B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_RXJ63WDFB3SZ7D6D73M8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I looked at a few prenatals the other day at Target and they contained between 10-27mg of iron
I got a great pair for $20 from Amazon. A little poofy in the crotch just yet but give this bump another 2 weeks or so and I know I’ll be living in them. Here’s the link to US Amazon:

I had some chest and back acne (not necessarily due to pregnancy) and I got a body brush from Amazon
Shower Brush & Silicone Back Scrubber for Dry or Wet Brushing, Exfoliating with 100% Nature Horsehair, Long Handle Body Brush for Clean Body https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087Q5TFTT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_1KT0H33EE6V1YK8DGSXP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
and use sebamed face and body wash. I don’t use it on my face but I think you can, and I think I saw on their website it’s ok for pregnant women. But check it out just in case. It really helped my chest acne and my skin got a lot softer.. good luck
You guys. These pants are the best thing to ever happen to my start-of-2nd-trimester WFH (today! 🎈) self.
$12 here in the US and don’t look Strictly like work pants but I’m WFH this week bc we had a confirmed COVID case (got my negative test back last night!). Totally close enough and my legs and bloated/achy belly are So Happy.
We started with the retrospec when she was about 6-7 months old:
Retrospec Cricket Baby Walker Balance bike with 4 Wheels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082XXFD2G/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_QG8CNGEQ48CFNSDYYNNH
Now she's on a Strider:
Strider - 12 Sport Balance Bike, Ages 18 Months to 5 Years https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IZXCAQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_8433R3ZFN15CDMD8YH1M
If she's in a cloth diaper, she is barely reaching the ground, so we either have to put her in panties or a disposable for her to reach the ground a little better. And we do her thicker tennis shoes. She's slightly above average for her height.
Ok, I will first say that I am definitely not a hair stylist 🤣. But this is the dolly make-over. It was originally this one. The bag behind is his backpack. Honestly finding the bag and clothes that weren't sparkly dresses was probably the hardest part. There's a seller on Amazon called Emily Rose that actually has plain t-shirts and jeans for 14" dolls, so that's mostly what my son uses.
I really like these Glitter Girl dolls because they look child-like, and are such a perfect size for young kids. We tried the Lottie dolls first, but they're so tiny! Like half the size of a Barbie. My kids could just not manipulate them well. Our first 14" doll was my daughter's Kendall Welliewisher, and my daughter loves her, but my goodness those things are fragile! We've had to replace it twice just because it fell off a table or couch and the leg joint broke. Now, I only do the Glitter Girls. Very sturdy, and you can actually bend the legs and arms.
Do they have the Nuna Mixx available where you are? We love ours, and it's a bit cheaper than the Vista here. I'm actually planning to just get the newer model because I love our old one so much....(but after 4 years, it's in need of an upgrade 🤣). I know it has a carseat, too, but we actually went with this Safety First one because I just wanted to have one that I could use for a few years.
I’ve had this problem a few times myself. I always thought I just produce a lot of ear wax 🥴 but maybe I have small ear canals too!! Lol. I’ve gone to the dr. for it before and they basically just flushed my ear until the blockage came out 🤢 I recommend these drops. Depending how bad it is you might have to repeat the process a few times to soften things up but it works for me
I have a leather brooks saddle that I broke in well before getting pregnant so that’s not that helpful. I’m pretty tender down there now after riding though 😭 I recommend getting a female anatomy specific saddle that has the little hole in the middle cut out so it doesn’t put pressure on your bits. I have one of these on my road bike: Terry Women's Butterfly Cromoly Bike Saddle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C3GI4DY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_KFMW6PYZSAY2FE0Q2EKT it’s expensive but I’ve had it over ten years and it’s been worth every penny!
Pregnancy has also done a number on my anxiety! I saw this book recommended by with wise Pizza and have found it helpful so far The Pregnancy Workbook: Manage... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1648768377?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I’m sorry you are going through this- there are pregnancy safe meds that might be helpful too so you could ask your doctor- lots of people take them during pregnancy!
here’s the link I am loving it. And I have the detachable side on the outside of the bed cos it’s a bit more flexible so if I need to get up I just flop it over the edge so I don’t have to climb out
I’m reading this one! A couple of my friends at church used it and had really good experiences. I’m also using the app Expectful which has the entire hypnobirthing course on it as well as a ton of other pregnancy meditations that I’ve been enjoying!

Here is a 10mg chewable B6 but I don’t really think the B6 does a whole lot? Maybe helps a little bit. Unisom is a lot more powerful.

Yes! This is the one we got a while back. I think target had it too. There are some others still available on Amazon though 😁 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079RNF5P7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_54C08NE38V9DYZEMSKE7
I'm so sorry you're dealing with HG, it sounds like one of the most miserable experiences possible. I have GERD and I used to feel extremely sick first thing when I woke up and this stuff saved my life. I took 2 before bed. My midwife couldn't tell me to take or not take it because it's not approved in the US but this is from the NHS.

My husband’s coworkers always said his desk looked so bare. So for our first I wrote him a sweet card and put a line about “starting our own little family tree”. The spinner looks like a tree to me so it has a special meaning but looks like it belongs on a desk. Bonus it is just fun to spin. Thank goodness for two day shipping. lillipopter spinning thing

We got this one for my stepsons! It was the book my parents gave me when I was getting a little brother and I remembered it so we’ll I just had to get it for the boys! It has flaps which is good for littler kids and the content is focused some on baby, but mostly just about growing up.
The hard thing for me was finding a book that wasn’t so “mommy” focused since I’m a stepmom. It was hard!
Of course!
