The museum the pdf is sourced from sells some books about Fremont's townships like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Irvington-Fremont-CA-Images-America/dp/0738530050
Haven't actually seen the book so can't say what info it might have.
From my place in the Mission San Jose area, I have been able to hear passenger train horns corresponding to all of the crossings from Auto Mall to Niles Junction (while watching a live train tracker, and with the right conditions for sound propagation).
I can also hear BART sounds on the Warm Springs line from about a mile away, and I can also hear freight locomotive noise well enough to determine the manufacturer if they're running on the Warm Springs subdivision at full throttle.
If you want to ask question of the Mayoral candidates, you can today at 5pm.

I found out about this from the 'Tri-city voice' (see the article on top left at http://issuu.com/tcvarchives/docs/tcv-160126/5?e=2099191/33038892 ) It said "City of Fremont recently published its first dataset ... ". Your first comment made me wonder if it took them this long :-) I am glad to see that Fremont has an "IT strategic plan" ( http://www.fremont.gov/ITStrategicPlan ) that this project is part of.
umm broadcast HD needs a good UHF directional antenna pointed in the direction of the broadcasts (should be SF area, sutro tower for vast majority of stations) Indoor ones are very hit or miss esp this far away from the source. if you have a balcony with a clear view of SF's general direction your best bet is to put one out there aimed appropriately. could also install these in an attic or crawl space if you have one.
