Invest in a good hair mask. It's a temporary solution but also a cheaper one. Olaplex has a really good bonding mask that helps with frizz. There is also a really good protein one on Amazon that I also like: https://smile.amazon.com/Elizavecca-CER-100-Collagen-Coating-Treatment/dp/B01I2ZQJSG?pd_rd_w=OzYMO&pf_rd_p=306cc3dd-f716-4afe-8aeb-47781d60c63f&pf_rd_r=4XXJHGYWNM24G0Q4EX2N&pd_rd_r=2d21b977-176d-4fa0-8259-1d3c33623fdd&pd_rd_wg=vbwmq&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_csi_vtp_0_t
A silk-lined cap to sleep in! It keeps your hair moving inside so it never gets pressed down. I got this one & I LOVE it.
I have tape in extensions from time to time. It was so helpful when I had wavy extensions. I'd wake up & barely have to do anything.
Waves for reference I could also get them bigger with some salt spray.
Something like this is what I use!
Thank you! Learnt a lot from this comment. BTW don't forget about the quality of the water you shower with. It can be easily overlooked how important it is to use a shower filter.
Here is one with good reviews on Amazon... However, I definitely suggest to use less heat while blowdrying, and to let your hair air dry whenever possible. A dryer that hot sounds like a lot of damage 😰
Hair masks help promote hair growth. While they won't speed up the hair growth process, products with ingredients like marula and black seed oil can help support a healthy scalp, stimulate hair follicles, increase blood flow, and nourish your hair from root to tip. It can strengthen and prevent hair breakage.
hairdresser here: you have curly/wavy hair! get a haircut with long layers. have your hairdresser undercut-razor the bottom 2½ - 3 " of the ends of just the layers to blend the weight.
wash your hair with pH balanced shampoo, followed by conditioner. if your hair gets greasy, don't use sulfate-free shampoo.
brush through with a wet brush pro
wrap up in a towel-turban style for like a minute.
NEVER scrub hair back and forth with a towel!!!
finger-comb styling product with hold through the ends, like a curl creme. scrunch and let air dry.
DON'T brush it when it's dry!
hairdresser here: wash your hair with pH balanced shampoo, followed by conditioner. if your hair gets greasy, DO NOT use sulfate-free shampoo. some sulfate-free shampoos will even make it coated and waxy-feeling, so waxy it can make it super tangly.
after you shampoo, rinse the shampoo out really well, then condition, and rinse out the conditioner.
brush through with a wet brush pro
wrap up in a towel-turban style for like a minute.
NEVER scrub hair back and forth with a towel!!!
finger-comb styling product with hold through the ends, like a curl creme. scrunch and let air dry.
wash your hair at least once a week.
DON'T brush it when it's dry!
hairdresser here: after you shampoo, rinse the shampoo out really well, then condition, and rinse out the conditioner. I'm not sure it's been rinsed out in the first pic.
brush through, starting at the ends, with a wet brush pro, then brushing higher as it gets brushed out.

hairdresser here: if you have oily hair, make sure your shampoo isn't sulfate-free. sulfate-free shampoo makes most ppl's hair greasy. for your colour-treated hair, choose a colour-safe shampoo that is not sulfate-free.
DO use pH balanced shampoo (pH 4.5-5.5) followed by conditioner. brush through with a wet brush pro. choose a conditioner that says "moisture" rather than protein or keratin. too much protein damages your hair!
when you have dandruff, mix a couple drops of tea tree oil with your shampoo in the palm of your hand. use when needed.
wash your hair at least once a week! when you have I wash mine 3 times a week. for some with greasy flat hair, there's /r/dailywash
DO NOT use sulfate-free shampoo if you have greasy hair.
you cannot repair split ends, they have to be cut off. if you don't cut off split ends, they keep breaking shorter and shorter and your hair cuts itself, but then it's all broken, thin and split at the ends!
hairdresser here: never heard of this.
if you have oily hair, make sure your shampoo isn't sulfate-free. sulfate-free shampoo makes most ppl's hair greasy.
DO use pH balanced shampoo (pH 4.5-5.5) followed by conditioner. yes, you can put conditioner just on your ends.

frizz is brushed out curl/wave.
DO use styling product with some hold, like a curl creme.
wash hair with pH balanced shampoo, condition, brush through with a wet brush pro. squeeze water out. wrap in a towel for like a minute. finger-comb styling product with hold through just the ends, whatever's left on your hands can be applied to the roots after it's mostly in your ends.

hairdresser here: you need a styling product with hold.
wash hair with pH balanced shampoo, followed by conditioner. brush through with a wet brush pro. wrap in a towel for maybe a minute. finger-comb styling product with hold through the ends.
try a curl creme
DON'T brush it when it's dry!
i use hair slick wands, like this. you can get them on amazon, search for 'hair slick wands'. they're easy to use because they're basically mascara wands but they capture all the hair. i also recommend the bedhead by TIGI wax stick, i ue it for all my fly away hairs when my hair is up in a ponytail. neither item has flaked on me.
Be sure to use the treatment after washing your hair. Using shampoo will first break down the buildup in your hair, allowing the hair mask to fully penetrate and focus on areas that need special care.
it's a 10 spray-in leave-in conditioner likely available at target, or try any cheap dollar tree spray-in leave-in detangler for kids
use a wet brush pro, and start from the bottom, as others have mentioned. you can do it!
Try an herbal hair rinse! In places in Southern Asia, the traditional way of washing hair is to use hair rinses made with shikakai, because of its natural saponins. Saponins have the ability to suds up like soap! You can order shikakai pods on Amazon for $10, and all you have to do is boil shikakai with rosemary for an herbal rinse that will make your hair feel AMAZING! I highly recommend it! Also, the rosemary has actually increased my hair growth dramatically!
If all that is too much effort, you can also start off trying a vinegar rinse. Before I discovered shikakai, I used ACV diluted with water (1:10 ratio), and trust me when I say it cleans your hair effectively!
I haven't used shampoo or conditioner in 5 years. Instead of conditioner, I'd recommend simply putting natural oils on the ends of you hair. Once you stop stripping your hair with detergents, your natural sebum will moisturize the rest of your hair!
hairdresser here: after washing, and conditioning, when it's wet, brush through with a wet brush pro.
put in curl creme! do NOT brush it when it's dry!
if it gets frizzy, spray with water to re-bundle the curls. add about 1/3 more styling product, if needed. frizz is just brushed out curl!
You should try Nizoral Anti Dandruff Shampoo it contains Ketoconazole 1% which is an anti fungal ingredient used to treat dandruff. If you find it works but you need something stronger your doctor or dermatologist can give you a prescription ketaconazole shampoo as well
I’ve also always had fine hair that lacked volume and I’ve tried tons of shampoos and conditioners including high end and drugstore. What I came to realize is that the texture of the conditioner is extremely important. If I was to apply a super thick conditioner it’s gonna weigh my hair down automatically. My favorite shampoo and conditioner to use is Tresemmes 24 hour body Shampoo & Conditioner. The conditioner is the perfect texture, lightweight but also nourishes and conditions my hair super well.
I use KMS gel on mine, but you can try any gel that says it's not flaky.
have you tried working with your waves by putting in styling product for curl bundling, and NOT brushing it when it's dry, instead of straightening your hair?
the curve in the last 3-4 inches means it's wavy. if it's blunt cut, you won't notice the waves till the wave at the ends, and it could look frizzy if you brush it when it's dry, like Janis Joplin.
if you like beach waves, the right cut will give you beach waves! wavy hair means that if you're getting frizz, it's because you're brushing out wavy hair when it's dry.
if you like beach waves, get it cut with really long layers, undercut razor the ends of just the layers in the last 2½-3" of just the layers to blend the weight, so it doesn't look like one haircut sitting on top of another haircut.
to make it look good: wash hair, wrap in towel turban for like a minute, finger-comb styling product with hold for curly hair through the ends, scrunch, let air dry. DON'T brush it when it's dry!
your hair is straight? straight hair isn't frizzy. it could be baby hairs flying around? I glue my baby hairs down with a bit of gel.
after washing, squeeze water out, brush through with a wet brush pro, squeeze water out again, brush through again, squeeze water out again, then wrap up in a towel-turban. just a regular cotton towel, to make your cotton towels more absorbent, don't use fabric softener when you wash them, and don't use fabric softener sheets in the dryer!
I found both to be good consistency. The conditioner is thicker compared to the shampoo. Redken shampoo and conditioner
hairdresser here: after washing with pH balanced shampoo, then conditioning, I'd spray some it's a 10 leave-in conditioner/detangler in it, may be a little less expensive at target, and
use a wet brush pro to brush it out, starting at the ends, then brushing higher and higher, to brush out the tangles. if it's severely split, it will be harder to brush out, and the split ends will have to be cut off. you can't repair split ends.
have patience and snacks.
Been in your predicament before, I recommend using a deep conditioning mask & brushing through repeatedly, might take a couple of washes to get your hair completely deranged, wishing you the best! (Ps I find this conditioning mask the best for this job https://www.amazon.co.uk/Garnier-Ultimate-Blends-Coconut-Treatment/dp/B07L5WH74Y/ref=asc_df_B07L5WH74Y/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=313322780637&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7162973711307252625&hvpone=&hvptwo=&h...)
i do!! i don’t know how to make the link pretty on reddit so it’s a mess i’m sorry but this is the one i got! even lets you adjust but i have never needed to do so and i would say i have a (normal??) sized head 😹
Silk Satin Bonnet - BIGEDDIE Hair... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097JMFLW5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Did you recently change your shampoo? I did that and started losing twice as much hair in the shower. I also use a scalp massager thing during my first shampoo as like an exfoliant and then clean it away during my second shampoo. I used to think it was dandruff but then I realized it’s probably build up from sweat.
Look for spiral bobby pins! These are a game changer and work better than prong pins (those fall out of my hair). There hold your buns in really securely while being able to hide at the same time. If you don’t buy them online, I can usually find them at my grocery store.
https://www.amazon.com/Pieces-Simple-Styles-Spiral-Bridal/dp/B07ZTDYRP1
Bobby pins are useless for long hair, especially if it’s thick. Try hair pins (sometimes also called French pins, u pins, or Amish pins) These are the ones I have (sorry it’s an Amazon link, there are other ones out there, but this was the quickest to find on mobile). I know some people get intimidated by these pins but they are so easy that I’m not sure why people don’t use them.
I use one hair tie and then about 10 or so of these to hold up my hair all day for work. My hair is pretty thick, fine, and reaches my mid thigh. I also love hair sticks as others have said, I will say I don’t like the plastic or acrylic ones as I tend to snap them in half (I think it’s the heat from the scalp). I have best luck with wooden ones.
These have been a godsend for me!
I found them in a local discount store. They are metal claw clips, and surprisingly strong. One has lasted me 6 months already! Because they are metal they don't break like the plastic ones do.
I twist my hair and clip it up with one of these. Since I've been doing that I swear my hair feels thicker and I see less breakage.
I'm not quite sure if this is right, but I believe you can use a hair serum. It's great for damaged and thick hair. In case anyone didn't know, hair serum is a liquid that contains silicone, amino acids, and ceramides. It acts like a mask on the scalp. It prevents frizz and makes hair straight and shiny. It also protects your hair from heat damage from various styling products. Basically, it works as a protective layer that prevents various damages to the hair. I hope I helped you, have a great day!
>Keep in mind, too, that a lot of the "keratin" shampoos, conditioners, and especially the at home treatments, don't actually contain keratin, but do contain chemicals like ammonium thioglycolate (perm solution) or sodium hydroxide (relaxer.) Which is going to really damage your hair, especially with regular use, and cause breakage and hair loss
Do you refer to this?
hairdresser here: after washing, to brush through it, spray it's a 10 spray-in leave-in conditioner/detangler, or another spray-in detangler, through the ends, and brush it out with a wet brush pro.
protip: some sulfate-free shampoos leave a strong waxy buildup on hair that makes it extra tangly. if hair feels waxy, sticky, like it's got buildup on it, switch to a pH balanced shampoo that is NOT sulfate-free, followed by a good conditioner.
Damn thank you for the detailed response. For your 2nd point, why do you use so many different products? I don’t think I can afford getting so many different products right now, what would you recommend i use?
For brushes, i use https://www.amazon.ca/Sunbird-Temperature-Resistant-Reddish-1-5-1-8/dp/B07RNVWQCN/ref=asc_df_B07RNVWQCN/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459481629352&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17790769657137415348&hvpone=&hvptwo=&.... I like having a good grip, do you think i should switch to what you have?
for masks, point 6, do you have any product recommendations or tips. I never heard about masks so i am extremely new and haven’t used them.
I definitely need to use lower heat, however, i do find it hard to use low heat when i straighten my hair with the blow dryer since it’s so curly. do you have any recommendations on how to style it properly on lower heat?
I use a "hair finishing stick". It's basically like hair gel in a mascara tube and it holds flyaway hairs down. The specific one I use is this but any others should work.
This is the hair, skin and nails. My mom gave me the selenium, so I’m sorry I don’t have the brand of that. Good luck!
ooof yeah the ADHD can be killer. It's rough because I felt like it did get BETTER over time (partly because you just get better at avoiding it and you can control it). You might want to try a couple things:
1) make sure the shower head setting isn't on that harsh concentrated blast. I CANNOT shower like that. If it is and that's the only option, it may be worth (if possible) replacing the shower head -- I wonder if some stores may have it hooked up to preview? (I was always shocked at how much you could actually see at home depot)
2) Learn the lean back techniques. That isn't an official name -- I just basically spend most of my shower facing AWAY from the shower head, and have gotten really good at dipping my hair back into it.
3) You could try one of those shower shield things!
4) Dry shampoo.I like this one (you have to really rub it in)
I could be wrong but I think Apothecare no longer is in production. :( Or if they are I have no idea where to find them. I loved their stuff I got at a sale at Sally Beauty.
Is this it?
Hi! I absolutely love this stuff https://www.amazon.com/SEXYHAIR-Powder-Play-Volumizing-Texturizing/dp/B00390DN34?th=1 the white powder disappears and it gives your hair a lot of volume. A little goes a long way too!
Sure thing it's the Aqua Bliss High Output Revitalizing Shower Filter and it's $35.
hairdresser here: DO use pH balanced shampoo, followed by conditioner.
if your hair gets greasy, DON'T use "sulfate-free" shampoo. if it doesn't, sulfate-free is better than not washing it.
wash your hair with shampoo at least once a week; after a week your own natural scalp oils turn alkaline, and can dry your hair out.
after washing, brush it with a wet brush pro, around $7 on amazon. put up in towel-turban for like a minute. no special towel needed. DO NOT scrub it back and forth with a towel!
finger-comb styling product with hold through it from like your ears down, then the rest on your hands can go through the top.
use styling product that says "bundles curls" like KMS curl up control creme but anything that says it does the same thing should be fine.
DON'T brush it when it's dry! if you forget, or run your hands through it too much when it's dry, either re-wet it with your hands, or mist it with water to re-bundle curls.
don't listen to the "no-poo" ppl. wash it at least once a week.
Obliphica's Sea Berry Hair Serum. They have a few different hair type formulas and I use the one for fine hair. This hair serum blew my mind! Give it a minute to absorb and then your hair will be sooo soft and shiny. I have been buying this for years and will buy it for life. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DPOL67I/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_5YEDFBBTQY5XMCSXHFK0

Sure, I’ll link you a couple I use. Once your hair feels a little healthier, you can use a Demi-permanent brown dye then just let it grow and trim periodically until the damaged bits are gone. Demi-permanent dye has no peroxide so it’s not damaging.

The best lifehack I've ever come across is to put your shampoo in a color applicator bottle (you can get these at beauty supply stores or online from Amazon) or even those condiment bottles with long spouts. Put the tip directly into your scalp and it helps get shampoo directly to the places that are hard to get to with thick hair. :) seriously changed my life.
This is the exact one I use!
Diane Applicator Bottle for Hair Styling and Coloring – Large - 10”, 16oz Capacity – Clear – D855 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009F11I88/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_GGD9NYED8KBK8HNF6RSS
I had this exact same problem which persisted for months and was really bothering me. I can’t promise that this will work on all hair types (I have very fine straight hair) and that it is the best solution long term as I’m no professional but the only thing that worked was mixing a dab of Avalon Tea Tree Oil shampoo (https://www.amazon.com/Avalon-Organics-Scalp-Treatment-Shampoo/dp/B008OL3WZC) with Bumble & Bumble’s detoxing Sunday Shampoo. Mixing both together makes a real good lather and I really massage that deep in the scalp for 3-5 minutes in the shower. After 2-3 consecutive washes, my hair was rid of the greasiness at the roots. You really need to massage it well so it created a good lather. The instructions on the bumble & bumble shampoo say to only use it once a week so I try to use a smaller amount of that and wash my hair 3-4 times a week instead of everyday using Batiste dry shampoo inbetween on non-hair wash days. Another thing that worked for me to cleanse the grease was mixing the same tea tree oil shampoo with some baking soda and then doing an apple cider vinegar rinse. That eliminated the grease straight away but I only did that once as I read that baking soda on the hair can be very damaging and drying and it is the equivalent of level of damage of continuously dying your hair. Hope that helps!
hairdresser here: brush before is good! and use a wet brush pro when it's wet! you can also use "it's a 10" spray in leave in conditioner when you're out of the shower on wet hair; it detangles wonderfully. it's expensive, but lasts a long time. they should have it at target too.
I didn't :/ I'm afraid all I can offer is the stuff I've tried and *didn't* do it for me! - This American Crew Fiber Cream seemed like it'd be a good bet, but it's pricier, has a more wet gel look finish, and isn't really reworkable at all once it's dried. It does smell great though...
This Schwarzkopf option is what I'm generally using most days now, but I wouldn't say it's particularly comparable - just decent in its own way, and easily found in the shops (and often discounted to £2-3.)
The hunt continues!
This is the hair mask I use

You can get water softeners like the one I have that you can just insert into the circuit.
If you want to get silicone hair ties get <em>pro</em>. Because of the grippyness silicone hair ties are more likely to rip your hair out when you pull them out. These ones have a little clasp on them so they undo so you don’t have to pull them out. Also you can cut them to add segments or take them away to make them bigger or smaller so they fit your wrist and/or the amount of hair you have.
I would seriously invest in a shower head that filters hard water. It's been such a game changer for both my hair and skin. They're relatively inexpensive I got mine on Amazon.
Shower Head and 15 Stage Shower Filter, FEELSO High Output Hard Water Softener Showerhead with Filter Cartridge for Hard Water Remove Chlorine and Harmful Substances https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FMMLKNS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_7SW3FRGN643Z85DP0KB3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Sounds to me like dandruff. Try a natural dandruff shampoo like this one Derma E, or in a pinch, go for the head n shoulders and see if it helps. I’m sure most people would suggest against the latter but I used it for a long time and I have very long healthy hair. A more natural solution that you might have on hand already is apple cider vinegar. Mix it with an equal part of warm water and massage it into the scalp, leave on for a bit, then rinse and wash as normal. Consider picking up one of these silicone scalp massagers to get rid of excess product or skin cells also.
I’ve heard people recommend Malibu C Hard Water Wellness there is a shampoo, conditioner and a treatment that comes in little sachets. They also have a purple toning formula I believe for if your a blonde. Due to it not being readily available in the UK I’ve personally never tried it.
My biggest piece of advice would be to pick up a shower filter. You can pick them up for fairly cheap on Amazon this is the one I bought and it has done wonders for improving my hair.
Hi I have this aqua bliss shower filter it’s really easy to install and lasts about 6 months before you need to replace the cartridge. You just have to insert it into the circuit the best place is between where the water comes out and the hose attaches but you can also place it between the hose and the shower head. Don’t have to worry if your in a rental or anything because it’s not a big modification or anything.
Fine, but people are going to criticize, they always do. I am a hairdresser and in my business I use this method to help remove buildup. Build up happens from shampoo, conditioner, and products like hell and spray. I use this to reset the hair and also to prep for color or deep conditioning.
There is a natural way to remove build up. Go to the beauty supply store and purchase a applicator bottle (for haircolor). In the bottle, mix 2 Oz of baking soda and 4 oz of warm water and shake bottle to mix ( a little trick is to squeeze some air out of the bottle and put your finger over the tip before shaking to mix, so non spurts out). Apply to your scalp and the length of your hair, cover with a plastic bag and leave for 20 minutes before rinsing. Rinse thoroughly. Rinse out the bottle and then fill with 2 Oz apple cider vinegar and 1 Oz water. Starting at the scalp, apply like you did the baking soda. Rinse and towel dry. Do this any time your shampoo and conditioner stops working. I will also suggest getting a shower filter. I use this one
Culligan WSH-C125 Wall-Mounted Filtered Showerhead with Massage, 10,000 Gallon, Chrome https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006VVN1S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_C1BF42QDJ5P267JF2Z6A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I actually use this only to wash my hair and unscrew this after use and put my old shower head on to take my long shower. ( I don't want to waste the filter). My hair doesn't get the weird oily/ dry combo any more. Let me know how that works out, and feel free to ask me for help. I will do what I can.
I wanna try other solutions before changing my conditioner/shampoo first tbh but is this the one you use?
https://www.amazon.com/Blueberry-Reparative-Leave-Conditioner-Ounces/dp/B01AZT1SK6
if so, I trust you ima get it. how long does each bottle last btw?
It's usually way too expensive on Amazon, but I found this one for under $20!
It should be around $7-9 in-store if you find it!
I had the same exact issue plus my skin was suffering (bad acne). I have been using this filter in my shower and it has worked wonders for me and my fiancé! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUBU0YC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_GT91DH202P6MRSH0ECXQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Highly recommend! We’re going to get a whole house water softener but the prices are astronomical right now
Hey there, this is the product I use since I got my hair dyed. So far it does remain my hair color and stop my hair from thinning. FYI!!

The egg mask. It's a common myth that egg will cause your hair to grow. Don't expect any kind of benefit from it, but yes you can do that. I'm a bit worried about the odor though. You might be better off using a hair finishing stick
Hi, thank you for the detailed reply and the compliments!!! As for products I use, when I shower, I alternate between two shampoos:
https://www.amazon.com/Maui-Moisture-Thicken-Restore-Shampoo/dp/B01MQENV0C
This for my usual wash
https://www.amazon.com/Nioxin-System-2-Cleanser-33-8oz/dp/B005NOPU2G
This for when the oil is built up too much and I want a fresh start, then I just borrow my boyfriend's "Curl Quench" conditioner to soften it up.
I'm definitely going to try out your washing suggestions and see how it goes. I'm not used to wearing ponytails or buns so it will be a challenge for sure.
Type 4 hair isn't "dry" but it just doesn't have the right amount of water in it than it "should" have based on humidity...not everyone with type 4 hair needs more water in their hair. It mostly depends on where you live and the relativ humidity. So you could be right. Water could help some people, however when you rinse your hair with water, you have no control over how much you want in your hair and you could wind up using too much. So, all in all, you could lightly spritz it with water. Okay LushLoxx. But the biggest problem with this is the WATER itself. If it's hard, it can damage your hair. If it' soft, it can wind up causing grease. You need it to be PERFECT for your hair. If anyone wants to rinse their hair with water, they should always use this special shower filter so they don't damage their hair.
Downvoted bc transphobes I guess 💁♀️
It’s basically like a conditioner and you use it like one it just really repairs dry/damaged hair and you can use it a few times a week if you want.
This is the mask I use and this is the conditioner.
So yeah I just alternate between the 2 and shampoo as needed and my my hair quality has never been better it kind of blew me away!
I don't really notice much of a scent coming from it, I don't really try to smell my hair products 😄 I have some hair products that are free of synthetic fragrances that I love. I'll link below.

Fruit Of The Earth Aloe Vera 100% Gel 24 oz (2 pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005C28Z9O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_17V8RZ41HYCC99GPZQ1N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Mix this brand aloe Vera with witch hazel in an applicator bottle. Apply it to your scalp and massage. Use it everyday. If you wash your hair at night, apply it to your dry hair (a few hours before you wash if you can) and again In the morning if you can. Once a week do a baking soda mask and after rinsing Thoroughly, follow up with the acv. To go EXTRA -massage scalp with castor oil and sea salt for a once a month treatment. I am an intuitive healer. My advice is a sum of my collective experience only.
Cordless Deep Conditioning Heat Cap - Hair Styling and Treatment Steam Cap | Heat Therapy and Thermal Spa Hair Steamer Gel Cap - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07174WPZX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_G3NMHS4TDJWBPE6WSK72?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
There’s the link! I like it, but I haven’t tried any others so I don’t have anything to compare it to! It says to microwave for I think max 45 seconds, but I’ve done it for 1.5 mins before with no issues. Might depend on your microwave. Hope this helps you!
Here are some hair thinning shears, this will help you thin out that top layer by adding layers easily!
First one that jumps out at me is the Clean Freak refreshing conditioner (https://smile.amazon.com/Not-Your-Mothers-Conditioner-13433/dp/B08BQ2B9C1), but I notice that the one review I can see complains that this uses alcohol. Y'know, Amazon reviews, grain of salt. I don't know what is significant about the alcohol content, is it something I should avoid?
I dont see an issue with it and it is not a strange question at all. Drying hoods are made for that reason, they are just softer on the hair than just a regular hair dryer. Bonnets are more used for protecting hair (particularly curls) during sleep to cause less friction. They are not used much for drying but I guess that depends on the material. I would avoid terrycloth fabrics. Though it is not a heater, I also recommend the perfect hair towel since it is an ultra fine cloth great for drying hair without the damage. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798V3CGC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_MZK0YSFHRWMN23HTP4DN
I cant recommend a hood dryer since I don't own one. I use the towel above that i mentioned and a regular dryer with a diffuser (an attachment that again helps soften the air flow for curly hair but can be for all hair types) Hope that helps!
Also, don't recommend going to bed with ur hair wet. That causes a whole bunch of skin health issues...just an added note
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out!

I just switch the shampoo from TRESemme to Dove time to time. That's all I use.
I've been having the same issue. I have not found a long term solution to this and will likely see a dermatologist. However this shampoo does cut down on the itchiness for about a day and then I have to use it again.
Just use some shampoo or hair soap and conditioner that fits you hair type. I'd suggest trying an acidic rinse (like with apple cider vinegar/white vinegar or citric acid) as last step. It closes the hair's cuticles and makes it easier to de-tangle them. Buy a detangler brush and comb and use it under the shower while you have conditioner in your hair and/or after you applied the rinse (which I would wash out). The rinse could also help with the dead skin patches.
How often you prefer to wash your hair is up to you. I think every 3-5 days should be fine.
Some people use apple cider vinegar as a rinse and have found that helpful. I’ve used Malibu hard water packets and have liked them a lot. Maybe best used 1x/wk?

If you can’t get your hands on toner at the very least buy some blue shampoo MATRIX Total Results Brass Off Color Depositing Blue Shampoo ! | Refreshes Hair & Neutralizes Brassy Tones in Lightened Brunettes | For Color Treated Hair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06VSZ69LL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VYS3R25RF695ZX0RM134
What work for me, though not perfectly, is before putting on a shower cap I use a spa headband, like this one.... Whaline Spa Facial Headband Make Up Wrap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085THLC9J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VTH3DNJJNQX8TNYS8QYE
Then I put the shower cap over it. My hairline on the nape of my neck is low so it helps keep a tighter seal. Again not perfect but helps prevent moisture getting inside the shower cap, which was mostly my problem.
I don’t want to steer you wrong because I am not sure! I did not realize there are that many kinds of protein. I have this product and it’s excellent also

That's one big mistake many people make. In fact, what can be a remedy turns into a threat when you misuse it. Speaking of shower, it is of utmost importance to keep chlorine away from reaching your hair. You can use a shower filter that filters 99% of the chlorine found in shower water.
You can see my other post regarding hair masks. Coconut with honey would be a great choice for hair conditioning. Also, remember that the quality of the water you shower with should not be neglected; it is necessary to use a shower filter to block the chlorine which can be quite detrimental to the hair. Here you can find an affordable and effective shower filter of my own choice: https://www.amazon.com/Eco-Universal-Replacement-Cartridges-Curtain/dp/B01M03C6PO
Hi. Do you use hard-water? A big part of the problem may be because of the chlorine found in the water you shower with. I suggest that you get a shower filter that filters the chlorine. There are a number of affordable ones, but the best one worth the money can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Eco-Universal-Replacement-Cartridges-Curtain/dp/B01M03C6PO
Also one more thing 😅
You can put some semi permanent color into your conditioner! Semi permanent because semi permanent doesn’t require developer to work, it just deposits color. So every time you condition, your hair will get some color deposited on it! And make sure to leave the conditioner on for at least ten minutes, so you give time for the color to absorb.
And if you change colors often, you can leave your conditioner bottle the way it is, and put conditioner in a smaller squeeze bottle like this and put, say pink semi permanent dye into that small squeeze bottle of conditioner. That way, when you change colors, you can have your regular, uncolored conditioner to mix new dye into. So then you can have a new squeeze bottle of conditioner with, say, purple semi permanent dye in it.
Of course, if you have a small bottle of conditioner you wouldn’t need to do this because you’d probably use up all the conditioner before you want to change hair colors haha. I have a giant liter bottle, so I wanted to include this method in case if you do too.
Happy hair adventures to you!
Nizoral shampoo has been a blessing. Would highly recommend.
If you don't have them already I highly recommend the phone cord hairbands

Or any other brand really. They're softer on the scalp and they don't pull hair at all. The pony stays up while I climb and weightlift.
Although I haven't used this personally, it seems to have excellent reviews. I learned about from the skincare subreddit as its active ingredient - ketoconazole, addresses the fungus that causes dandruff, the same fungus responsible for fungal acne.
For dry and frizzy hair, conditioning is key. Even the days when you don't wash your hair just conditioning it will help. Also, using a hair mask/ deep conditioner rich in oils like this one might help.
