Could be just normal GERD/LPR.
For LPR, try using d-Limonene (orange peel extract). Over the years, I've had numerous bouts of LPR, and while PPIs reduce symptoms some, they never actually helped to resolve it.
The d-limonene helps stimulate the LES to stay closed, which then reduces the inflammation around the LES & esophagus so that it can heal. Use it along w/PPIs, not as a replacement.
Example brand (what I use): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H926D5Y
If you have burning GERD, I'd say take a look at DGL, slippery elm, marshmallow root, etc. instead. D-limonene w/regular GERD would likely create bigtime heartburn.
😆
I get Nature's Way! It was recommended to me by someone on Reddit & I might can link it here?
Hopefully that works! But the price has gone down too. So it's not as much as it used to be.
I purchased the following wedge pillow and case in January 2021 and it helps. I use it every night and it is just as firm as the day it arrived.
Elevated bed. 7 inches. I recommend buying a wedge from Amazon and sticking it under your mattress. It was life changing for me. LUCID Mattress Elevator Base - Affordable Adjustable Base Alternative - 7-Inch Lift - Naturally Reduces Acid Reflux https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FRP3HTB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_i_6BHMGVZR28FZ11CJJN62?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
In general avoid all fried food and spicy food. Beyond that you're going to have to keep a journal with everything you eat and log when you get symptoms. If you really want to go deep, log your food in the fitbit app and get this app called exist.io which can be setup to automatically take your data from fitbit and integrate it with data you enter into exist every (which would be if you got symptoms that day or not) and it will tell you where the correlations are from fiber, fat, carbs, calorie intake, and literally anything else you want to keep track of.
there are these leggings on amazon that are not compression leggings and dont have a tight waistband. I have a hiatal hernia and they don't cause me any issue. i swear by them. every semester I order a 7 pack of these leggings. they are cheap, very stretchy and have no compression. i feel your pain, i miss wearing tight clothing and tight belts.

I think it's like 70cm wide. I got it from Amazon: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B082T45GGM/ref=pe_3044141_185740131_TE_item
I didn't really want to get it from Amazon but it was the only way to get one during covid...
It's nice, it takes a bit of time to get used to it. Now if I sleep without I just wake up coughing! So it definitely helps. I find it a bit long though, I am 158cm tall so it tends to arrive just in the zone between the bottom of ribs and hips and it's a bit annoying.
This is good advice. I am going through a bad problem where I have difficulty swallowing. I have changed my diet to survive while I have my new appointment, more or less following what u/turn_around_now_ mentioned above—just soup, fruits, Pedialyte (to hydrate me). This also is helping me https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077SLF6KL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
Hmm interesting. Glad you were able to find out you actually have something and not just going crazy in the mind. I had both a laryngoscopy (ENT) and stomach endoscopy (Gastro) and both said everything is normal, no inflammation, no hernia, etc. I don't get it. Both times when I did have these done, I was already on about a month or two of the low-acid diet (sans coffee), so maybe that's why they didn't see much even though I still had the shortness of breath stuff. Maybe I should just get off the low-acid and eat normal food and get the manometry/pH impedence done to up my chances.
After not getting the diagnosis I expected, part of me just thinks maybe it is mental and/or physical muscle/posture related. It's like I forgot how to breathe properly or something and my diaphragm doesn't work as it used to. I just don't understand how I could go 30 years and then just wake up one day like that though. Plus, I got all these gasto related symptoms and sore throats. Anyways, I'm getting this breathing exercise device in a few days and will try it out (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JWTRA5I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
Last night I was having trouble breathing with my diaphragm and I could physically see like an indentation below my sternum area where my heart would be. I would try to take a deep breath and this part would just get sucked inward and lead to a very heavy heart beat or palpitations; it was so weird. It honestly feels like my stomach is getting vacuumed up into my diaphragm/chest cavity/heart area. It really freaks me out.

I’ve started sleep on a wedge pillow on my back though I’ve also have heard that elevated on your left side is better but I can’t sleep well on my left side on the wedge due to my back. If it’s really bad, I sleep on my couch almost sitting up. My symptoms usually are tight throat feeling and nausea.
This is the pillow I got:
Bed Wedge Pillow With Memory Foam Top - Ideal For Comfortable and Restful Sleeping - Alleviates Neck and Back Pain, Acid Reflux, Snoring, Heartburn, A https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QNZCR4Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_GnpsAiWzwtkOq
Edit: it’s much more comfortable than sleeping on several pillows as I tried that when I first got symptoms and couldn’t sleep. I also saw more recently that the have ones with cooling gel to keep you cooler at night.
I've been using the Acid Watcher's Diet by Jonathan E. Aviv for several months, to good effect. It's definitely a change in how I eat but, oh my goodness, does it make a difference. Here's the Amazon link, although I got a copy from my local library:
