You can keep using hiveOS as an operating system and mine to the Nicehash pool if that's more profitable for you. I want BTC exclusively so that's what i do.

and on RX580s you should be bumping those clocks up and lowering the powerlimits
running them at stock speeds isn't wonderful.
follow this guide for setting up hiveOS to mine on the nicehash pools.

It's almost twice as wide as a regular USB flash drive, so it could be a problem. I have an Anker "vertical" 4-port USB hub for burning flash drives (my SD/mSD readersare also huge) so I knew I'd have clearance.
If you can swing it I highly suggest these. Comes in multiple sizes, ball bearing motor, and is temp controlled.
Most box fan will die with in 6 months of continual use.
Edit:would help if I supplied the link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXDM9XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_XA7B3XPKK3X8VENDQXGJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's running a pair of Antec 1300W power supplies with a proprietary grounding link cable between them, so power should *not* be a problem :)
Will definitely look to check the riser and USB cable though - thanks
I'll try this again.

All you need to do is put a zip file on a USB and then follow the instructions below Download the Linux driver here https://www.cudytech.com/wu650_software_download
Then follow their directions right under the Linux download. I just did it 20 minutes ago. Real easy.
Outside of that you might need to move your rig to get Ethernet and install your Asus driver's that way
I run these, I get them at Microcenter, but Amazon has them.
The price had gone up since i bought mine but these are the ones i got. Honestly anything like this will work. link to Amazon here
64 on the core is about average I'd say, right where you should be. If the backplate is pretty hot it's a good sign your dissipating heat efficiently. 107Mh/s should be about right on stock clocks. I'd keep your same configuration and apply the overclock you wish to run, and let it run for an hour maybe and see if the hash rate is stable.
If you are getting thermal throttled, your hash rate will drop significantly (20-40Mh/s). You can try turning your fans to 100% and see then if the thermal throttle still occurs. It's a well-known fact the mem runs super hot, so you ultimately might have to replace the thermal pads (not hard to do, just takes a little time).
i recommend trying the overclock settings found here: https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/nvidia-rtx-3000-series-overclocking-guide-to-increase-mining-profits. Most cards should be able to run this overclock regardless of brand or memory mfg. It's a good place to start with a stable overclock.
Have your tried using a different PCIe riser? Also, how are you powering the risers? The 3080/3090 pull something like 50-60 watts from the slot. I think SATA can only push like 35W, so the riser power source could also be in question.
I know I'm too late to the party, but if you go into your worker page, on top side there is "openVPN configuration". Since I have NordVPN subscription, I downloaded .ovpn file and put it in client.conf section. My ca.crt, client, crt, and client.key info are included in .ovpn file so I don't need to edit those. I also need to put Login and Password. After that, hit apply and you should be able to get on VPN. If you don't have openVPN support with your VPN supplier, either you buy another VPN subscription or you have to use other devices such as Raspberry or a computer or another router to feed VPN connection with ethernet port.
all the calculators are estimates. You could try playing with this one to try and understand it better. https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth?HashingPower=316&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=825&CostPerkWh=.35&MiningPoolFee=1
I use the hangers found on Amazon by Michal tech, it’s able to take my 3090 FE without a problem. The Professional version is made for those heavier and hotter cards. The hobby version is able to handle the rest of the cards. Works like a charm! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GLG7YPB/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_SAD7Y8NE30MJFYJ6CCD2
You can use an ssd. I use the cheapest $19 ssd’s from Microcenter. They’re 120gb.
Then just flash the ssd. I use balena .
I only use hiveos and have never had any issues.
I was lucky and my Wifi-USB adapter worked right out of the box. In case anyone is wondering what works:
Only way to be sure is to measure at the plug with a meter like a kilkawatt
Thank you, I know where to connect the PCIe, I have 2 NZXT C850 with space for 3 PCIe cables and more 6 pins connectors for SATA and periphereals, can I use any 6 Pin connector for that? I don't want to sacrifice 1 of my PCIe https://www.amazon.com.mx/dp/B082DYDHSZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_V0K3WC3RZ0EE1QM72T49
Yeah. Need more info:
What size of PSU do you have?
How many PCIE connections do you have?
What are you connections like already? PSU---Pcie 8-pin--dual-8pin splitter?--Direct to GPU?
What power draws are your gpus using?
There's a simple way to add a trigger from another psu: https://www.amazon.com/BattleBorn-Connector-Splitter-Dual-PSU-Adapter/dp/B016P490UU/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=24+pin+additional+power+supply&qid=1618547247&sr=8-3
I don't know if this will help you or if the problem is way more technical, but I have two different rigs running on these with no major issues. Occasionally drops connection, but I think that's a wifi issue and just requires a restart of the rig. Hope this helps!
Hi, u/Ill_Ad_4000 below is a link to the USB card that I use. It can be plugged in hot, no need to shutdown.

Hrm mix reviews on linux support with that card
Honestly I would look at hitting up the Hive forum for help
I would suggest something like this:

I have used it on multiple linux distros with no issues.
This is the Wifi Card I am using.

I was considering that one, but went cheap and uncovered.

Picked up some 40GB Intel mSata drives at a local junk shop for $10 over the weekend. :)
Basically this WBTUO Riser Card PCI-E USB 3.0 PCIe Port Multiplier Card PCI Express PCIe 1 to 4 PCI-E to PCI-E for BTC Miner Machine https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076KPYZXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_37QHQW33NA7DXFWCF3XZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It seems that when the power cut the firmware of the card failed, you have to look for a new one and rewrite it with another pc, asprogrammer and CH341A 24 25 Series EEPROM Flash BIOS USB Programmer Module:
Unfortunately hiveOS has issues flashing onto SSDs even though they have been posting left and right to do it that way. Your best bet is to get a nice high speed SOlid state flash drive. I have 5+ rigs running on these no issue. I had the same problem as you the first rig I set up that I couldn’t get the SSD to show up anywhere , and 3 other SSDs also. Flash drive worked first time.
