No need to uninstall, old version can be ran at the same time. It's just called Scanner Redacted now.
Here if you have Android phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nianticlabs.ingress.prime.qa
Can find it by searching for scanner redacted in app store, too.
#1 Love the release notes, huge step forward here and great work!
#2 Big names with big user-base tend to announce balancing changes separately. These demand a blog post or other communication of the reasoning. Is there some? I assume so. Most of the posts here are demanding some of the justification. On face value it would seem that this just drives up scarcity which would seem to benefit the farm-bot fed stores and I guess the official shop. I'm scratching my head here.

It's the community that is keeping the player base right now. The incentive to keep at it seems to be waning for the old guard. The new recruits don't seem to be sticking around as long either. Locally most of us have switched to playing Orna https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=playorna.com.orna&hl=en_US and we've even gone xfac with most of the ingress community (both Res and Enl) on the same team. Bring us back. Please.
Try this tool. If it fails, then you need to resolve whatever is causing SafetyNet to fail.
If it passes, come back and let us know.
If you are on Android and want to eliminate SafetyNet as a possible cause of the problem, you can install SafetyNet Test from the Play Store and see if your device passes it.
Niantic always slowly rolls out updates worldwide. It should get forced out soon though.
If you don't want to wait simply update it manually. APK is available on APKMirror.
Not sure if people simply quit using Prime as soon as Redacted was available and are waiting for updates or what?
I stuck with Prime since release and yes it was annoying having to restart app so often and encounter so many issues but in past 3 days a lot has been fixed on backend side. Lots of issues I was having with linking and in general app use are mostly gone, few hiccups remain but Prime is much better already and all that was done without having to push client update.
On another note, new version has been release few hours ago, 2.12.0. Just wait a bit until it rolls out to everyone or if you are eager and are running Android phone you can find it on APKMirror.
Can you try this tool and confirm that Safetynet isn't triggering?
>Do Google pay or Pokémon Go work on your phones?
This is a good test. /u/zukasy can you use these applications?
This is also a simple test app to check.
I have this Issue with Prime and PoGo. After a lot of messing around with my firmware, it seems that (at least for me) the phone doesn't pass google's "SafetyNet Check". I don't have a rooted phone but I have an unlocked bootloader and a custom ROM (LineageOS-unofficial) flashed. It seems that my phone doesn't pass the check because it detects that my rom isn't signed by a valid authority.
You can easily test if your phone passes the SafetyNet check with this app - Just click on "START CHECK". You have to look for "Basic Integrity" and "CTS Profile match" in the report. I'm not sure if passing the CTS-Profile match is enough or if Basic Integrity is needed.
Would be great if people could try and report back.
