Are you on a de-googled rom or rooted device? Your screenshot is what I have using brave on a firestick 4k.
And you're sure you're not rooted? Try this app to double check.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en
It's very unlikely, but your device could have been tampered with. You might also want to try a root checker.
Have fun with nofapnovember :p
Just kidding. T-mobile will not install spyware on your device so you don't have to worry about that. It is true that software like that exist but I highly doubt your mom went to the trouble of installing it. If you really want to be sure, try downloading safetynet test. This will check if you are still running the official software. If you pass this test your device is protected. I'm sure your mom is just bluffing.
EDIT: use a more informative title in the future.
Have your tried to do a safety net check? You can find many apps on the GPlay (e. g. this), this could point you to a possible cause
~~So I would recommend checking if your phone passes SafetyNet with a safetynet checker like this one. If it doesn't pass, that could be the problem.~~
~~By installing Magisk SafetyNet is bypassed, and the app won't know that you have tinkered with your device. This means your device also gets rooted of course~~~~
Edit: check comment below, I'm probably wrong
have you tried searching the subreddit? is your phone rooted?
download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en
see where your phone fails and fix it.
I just checked on my Chromebook Pro with developer mode enabled, using the SafetyNet Test app, and my device passes.
If you're running a device using a custom rom, degoogled services, rooted device then of this moment that device won't be compatible with brave rewards. A while ago I read they are looking into this and possibly some kind of "fix" but I don't know where that's at. One other thing to look into is something called magisck if your device is rooted. I don't know if it actually works with rewards though but magisck is another way to root android but not change the bootloader or the rom or anything that would trip up SafetyNet which is used to test your device - If this test fails, your device definitly won't work for brave rewards...
After a quick research I found out that pkm go works on android 5.1.1. I think your problem is that you're rooted.
Download this app and send me the result to be sure.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en
use this to find out what the problem is
Try this tool. If it fails, then you need to resolve whatever is causing SafetyNet to fail.
If it passes, come back and let us know.
If you are on Android and want to eliminate SafetyNet as a possible cause of the problem, you can install SafetyNet Test from the Play Store and see if your device passes it.
Ok, yes, I believe you are wrong.
Simply unlocking your bootloader should trigger a Safetynet fail on every current Android kernel. You don't actually need to modify anything and you don't need to root. All that matters is that you could have modified the system at some point. See here for example.
Have you checked if your device still passes the Safetynet Test? I'm reasonably certain that it won't, with all of the negative consequences.
I can't speak from experience but going from all the information I found, the standard way of relocking one's bootloader does not work for current Huawei devices: "fastboot oem lock" doesn't do the trick according to just about any ressource on the Internet. So I'd be interested in your tool that supposedly can do this.
Are you talking about the old SRK Tool? Or something else?
If so, does the SRK Tool really still work with Kirin 970 devices, I though development had stopped. Were you really able to unlock your bootloader without requesting an unlock code from Huawei in any way, shape or form? If you still need the unlock code, what on earth is the tool for, you can simply do it via fastboot?
You need to be able to pass the SafetyNet check; there's a bunch of apps in the Play store to test this, like this one. Until that shows green, you're not going to be able to set up snapchat for the first time. So far, it's never checked a second time for me; it only tests when you log in, so you should be able to do whatever you need to do to pass once, get logged in, and then feel free to ignore safetynet.
Usually, it fails because it can detect root. For Snapchat, the easiest answer might be to just remove the su addon in recovery, boot up, log into snapchat, then reboot back into recovery and add the su addon back in. (FWIW, I'm not using magisk, but I am using microg instead of play services, and have the su addon installed. Just doing the remove/login/add rain dance above worked perfectly for me. YMMV.)
If you aren't rooted, it's entirely possible there's a safetynet check that's tripping on something Magisk-related. See what a safetynet tester logs, that might give you a clue.
That all said: it's Snap. Screw those guys, just use something else. ;)
Hi u/the_real_afro_man
Does your device pass Safetynet? You can test here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en_US&gl=US.
If you're degoogled, then most likely even if you could update brave, which you can, you won't be able to verify your rewards and claim the bat anyways. The only thing you can try is to also install google play service and google playstore. But your device will still probably fail safetynet and not work. Same issue I have with amazon firestick. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It varies depending on the device & apps.
Is your device rooted with Magisk or Lineage AddonSU if running LineageOS 16.0 or older?
What happens if you test your device with apps like SafetyNet Test or SafetyNet Helper Sample for example?
Are you running a rooted device, or de-googled services device, or use a custom rom? If so, rewards won't work for that device.
Is your phone even rooted? If yes, download this app and check if you can pass the safetynet test in the app. If it says passed, then my solution will definitely not work for you. If it doesn't say passed, we can try to go from there.
It's kind of odd if your phone came in a Chinese box, because A6013 is the T-Mobile variant of the 6T.
Anyways - can you download 'SafetyNet Test' and run the test and post the results?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
if you’re using a custom rom, de-googled phone, rooted phone, or some chinese phone os there's incompatibility with rewards.
you can try this to see if you have some issue with rewards. Just because you pass this though still isn't a gurantee that your phone is compatible with brave rewards...
Did u root/unlock bootloader? Your device probably didn't pass safetynet requirements. This you can check with this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
The only solution for rooted devices is unroot en relock bootloader.
If your device isn't tampered with u might wanna try opening settings -> apps -> google play store -> storage and clear cache and clear storage then google will recheck safetynet and show protected apps that were hidden before because of safetynet issues.
Hope this is helpfull
Hello u/riveraj33. Can you tell me if your device is rooted? Also can you test if your device passes SafteyNet check ?
I once bought a phone which was flashed with a different region, and I remember that the phone I received had a blank serial number in the settings and couldn't receive ota updates. I think it was a sprint phone which was rebranded to unlocked. We ended up returning it, and trying again with an unlocked verizon model on eBay. The second time we found an official verizon phone.
I just remembered that it would fail safetynet too which means that some apps don't work like Google Pay, some banking apps, and some other apps. You can check if it fails safetynet by using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en_US
Not seen this issue but I didn't restore a backup and did a clean setup for the 4a
Normally I see this issue when safteynet fails, there is an app to verify that status.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
what does "doesn't work mean"
Did you re-lock the bootloader as that fails safetynet and some bank apps check that.
Install this app, what does it say on pass/fail
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en_US
Safteynet is a core part of Google play services that makes sure that your phone isn't modified. Apps like Netflix use it to see if they want to provide service to a device or not. You can use an app like this to see if you've tripped it or not, and you'll probably fail it
Well. You can easily verify if your device is authorized for contactless payments by running the SafetyNet test:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
Surprisingly, the results say "passed" on my 3a. Gonna try clearing data!
Does your phone pass the SafetyNet test?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
In PlayStore Settings in the end what's written device is certified or not and also. This is a app link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest can u check and tell me everything green or not
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=pl

I'm not an expert but maybe try this, see if you phone passes.
Do you have Magisk installed? If not, could you check? There are Test Tools like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=de on Playstore :)
Rewards are currently unavailable on Android phones that have custom rootkits installed.
To check this, you can download and run the SafetyNet Test:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en_US
If the test fails, your device probably has a custom rootkit installed.
run safetynet and see if your phone passes, 99.99999999999999999999999999% of the time its that.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en
also searching this reddit is honestly not hard and this gets asked like 10 times a week
Depends on if it still passes Google's check, safetynet. Here's a simple app I found quick that runs the check and displays the result
>I'm in no way implying LineageOS ever should integrate such measures...
I never said you did. ;)
>...I'm simply outlining why it's a bit disingenuous to say you've no issues with using the provided root solution when the reason you have no issues with it basically revolves around coincidence and sheer luck...
Root for apps on: fail in the SafetyNet Test app. Root off: success.
With iSU it can disable root automatically when opening some apps of my choosing besides having a convenient root switch.
For testing I enabled disable root automatically for the SafetyNet Test app & kept root on & it passed the test. After closing the app root is automatically enabled again.
Since I currently don't need to disable root, I disabled run at startup for iSU in Privacy Guard and also App monitor service in iSU's settings.
>...(and apparently a solid amount of apathy from your banking provider)...
Wanna join my hacker team? (ツ)
>...Mobile payments are too convenient...
Some prefer the privacy of cash payments but it's nice to have options.
It's possible it isn't rooted, but has just failed SafetyNet (matching against profiles of known devices). Some banking apps will refuse to run if it fails.
Try a safetynet checker, e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=en_US
Just in case, install this and tell me if it fails or succeeds.
Also, what version of Android are you using ?
Install "Safetynet Test" and check which fails, CTS or Basic. or both.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest&hl=es_419
Can you try this tool and confirm that Safetynet isn't triggering?
>Do Google pay or Pokémon Go work on your phones?
This is a good test. /u/zukasy can you use these applications?
This is also a simple test app to check.
> You wouldn't happen to know if the OS was locked down as well?
Bootloader could be unlocked. My colleague with Japanese 6P did it.
> they have some security feature that prevents it from starting on rooted phones.
Have you installed magisk? They use a system called safetynet to check for unlocked and rooted phones.
> Not sure what was tripping up the app there, non OK'd handset model or simply, being a pixel, the open OS
It has to do with you unlocking the bootloader and rooting it most likely. Try checking the status with this app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
There's an app you can use called SafetyNet Test that uses the same API that Android Pay and other apps use. It will tell you right away whether you are compliant or not. My phone is not, because the first thing I did was to unlock the bootloader so I wouldn't have to erase everything later.
Not sure what passing safety net requires nowadays. Try this to see if that is the issue. You can also get the netflix apk from somewhere else. Last time I wasn't stock that worked fine.
How can I check if I pass SafetyNet on my S7?
EDIT: Never mind, it's an app
How did my Sprint S7 pass when I'm still on the December 1, 2016 security patch? Does SafetyNet consider other criteria?
Check your SafetyNet status. I've installed MagiskSU, SafetyNet passes and Netflix works fine, I think Magisk's kernel patching and running with SELinux in enforcing fixed it. I'm on LOS 14.1 for the Nexus 6p for reference, best of luck.

Does the phone pass SafetyNet? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.safetynettest
Can anyone else log in to their account on her phone?
Capital One was up to date upon Vance+MicroG's installation.
I'm afraid I'm not very well versed with advanced smartphone use, but I ran the test provided by an app simply called "SafetyNet Test"
It returned that I had passed.
Without even reinstalling the app, I went to the Apps menu (to view all installed/enabled apps) and found Capital One's icon to be perfectly normal. I decided to bring another copy onto my home screen to see if it corrupted, but the new shortcut remained intact alongside the corrupted one
I have not rooted my phone (just downloaded SuperSU to double check. No root.) and went though the "non-rooted" installation of Vance+MicroG.
Thank you very much for your help and advise! I'm not quite sure what to do now though. If the corruption is just coincidence, how unfortunate that it just had to be my banking app -_-
The fact my personal contact info was reset, and (obviously) unmodifiable phone number would not display until I ran a reset on top of the corruped CO icon confuses me though...
What are your thoughts?
SafetyNet Test, but I have games that also fail to work. Haven't tried Google Play though.
I'm assuming you pass SafetyNet.

Don't do that. MindTheGapps has been made & tested by LineageOS devs & does not need any user's tweak to work.
Format data & start all over with a clean LineageOS + MindTheGapps install in one go without rebooting in between as described in your device wiki: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/beyond2lte/install#installing-lineageos-from-recovery
