I use a flatbed. I gather boxes up front. If there are none then I find some back with the fruit and veggies. I use large insulated bags for frozen items. The bags are so large that I can fit any frozen item in them. Each bag has a color coded tag (red, blue) for single and double order batches. The boxes are stacked for each order and delineated with a gap on the flatbed. More than one cashier has thanked me for being organized.
I have extra boxes to transfer frozen items in the bags at the customer's door.

An unrelated issue:
I do not race around the store like my life depends on getting out before some disaster occurs.
I had to open the browser instead of the Google Play store and find the non-beta version that way. Even if it says "Installed", click on the green "Installed" button and then tap the "Install" again. You'll get a message that the app will be installed soon. It showed up on my phone 5-7 minutes later.
Apparently, leaving the beta program takes a while, which is why you can't see the non-beta version immediately.

This app let's you set a master volume level, and set specific apps to lower volumes. Basically you can keep media at 100% and set instacart to 5 or whatever your preferred level is.

I will park wherever the heck I please. That usually means backing into the driveway so my trunk is closer to their door.
I have a folding cart and use it whenever the (small) amount of time to set it up is worth it to reduce my carrying. I will use it all the time at houses where the distance from driveway to porch is more than a few steps. I use it at apartments when the steps to the 3rd floor are far from the parking spot. I used it yesterday to one trip an entire Costco order up to a 5th floor apartment.

Communication! Create a custom greeting and right before you start shopping, message the customer letting them know your name, that you’re doing their shopping and that if they have any questions or need anything please ask. Half won’t answer but all of them will appreciate it. Also, keep extra bags in the back of your car. Lastly, go on Amazon and purchase a set of ‘motorcycle cargo net’. They’re 2/$9.99. They’re black nets you can put inside the cart to create separate compartments. They’re great for when you have multiple orders. Especially if they have close to the same amount of items. I got one of these for $25 from Home Depot. Totally worth it.
I had one before this that I got off of Amazon but it started to fall apart after about a year of consistent use. This is one has more metal in the frame and it seems sturdier.
I recently bought a couple of these boxes at Costco for less than $10 each.... I consistently use them to hold bags/items for IC deliveries. Saves so much time and energy!
Also, if you don't have a hand truck or dolly, they are available on Amazon for like $50. Pays for itself after a couple of orders, Get a bungee cord with two hooks/fasteners on either end to hold these boxes to the hand-truck during transport to customer. Boxes less likely to fall off hand-truck.
They'll email if you're deactivated. You should also use this app,or one similar on EVERY order. There are scammers and liars everywhere, so you must assume so on every order unfortunately. It's a horrible way to have to be, but you must, or someone will screw you over.

Also, do not assume that people won't try to scam on alcohol deliveries. They do, believe me. So use that app to photograph the booze and the receipt next to it as well. Best of luck.

Unfortunately this happens no matter type of batch you select. I use this app that tags the address with the picture in plain view. I also make sure the bags are wide open so i can get a decent view of the contents inside when i take the pic. There are a lot of liars and scammers out there, assume the worst and always be proactive with every single order. I also send the picture with their address clearly shown from that app tgrough the messaging system BEFORE completing the delivery. This is my not so subtle way of letting the customer know that if they lie, i sent every bit of evidence that i could, through the system. This will also help if they lie later, since that is now in instacarts system. Do this for every single order, without fail. Here's the link.

i bought some bags off amazon that have handles and bars that you can put in the cart. then I put th paper bags in them. They also have insulated and can carry soda with ease. Makes my job 2000 times easier. I would recommend these.

For the hand to me orders, I start a TIMESTAMP video on my phone as soon as I press "Arrived". I never record the customers face, but I do record the bags and the walk up the house (the GPS coordinates are stamped on the phone). and it records all the sound exchange between me and the customer.
For just a photo upon delivery, I take 2. I take one with the TIMESTAMP app showing location and that stays on my phone, and then I take another for the in app delivery proof.

Everything else aside—never think of yourself as being “paranoid” in this job. If you ever feel unsafe, or have a gut feeling, listen to that and honor it!!
Never feel forced to enter a gate. If it feels wrong, deliver outside a gate. If it feels so wrong you don’t even want to get out of your car, call support and cancel.
The latter is a bit extreme, and personally I’ve never done it, but I stand by it as a boundary if it came to it.
There’s a book called “the gift of fear.” We have gut feelings for a reason. Don’t listen to anyone in this sub or in person who makes you feel “less than” or invalidates you for listening to that feeling. Ignoring signs and gut feelings is how people get killed.
Start listening to your body and that feeling will become clear over time. You’ll know with increasing certainty whether it’s anxiety or a legitimate bad gut feeling. Trust your body in the moment—not other people!

I got this for my Note 10, love it. I can put my IC card, my card and Drivers Liscense in the case. I can hang it around my neck and let it drop in between items, then I can put one arm thru and turn it so its laying accross my back, to load onto the register and car and it doesnt bang against anything. It's an absolute lifesaver for me. It can fit four big paper bags or a whole bunch of plastic bags inside (maybe ten?). I put it in the cart while I'm shopping to separate doubles/triples. Then when I'm loading everything in my car I put all the bags with cold items inside (I bag items differently per order so I can tell them apart).
It's $20 but I think it's totally worth it. Never needed more space than that.
I had been using one of my insulated bags like some of the other commenters, that works ok but for really big orders it’s not great because it doesn’t maximize the space you can use. I wound up buying these large capacity bags that hook on to the sides of the cart. It comes with 2 but I only use 1 and am keeping the other as a spare. It’s great because it basically divides the cart into 2 compartments and it lays on the bottom of the cart and presses against the side so you still have the cage for support. That’s the problem with the insulated bags, they don’t reach to the side of the cart so you can’t use the metal as support.
I use a giant insulated bag in the end of the cart (like this one . One order goes in there, one goes in the main section of the cart but outside the bag, and one goes in the baby seat.
If none of the three orders are small enough to fit in the baby seat, I either add a hand basket on the bottom of the cart or get a 2nd cart (preferably one of the little ones).
But yeah, using one huge insulated bag to separate while shopping has been a lifesaver for me.
i take my time with dropping off orders and make sure every item is documented up close and personal on camera, with timestamps and their address, then send those pictures to the customer in chat to let them know it's there. no one's reported anything "missing" or "damaged" since. they know you're not playing games anymore when you take these steps. timestamp camera app where you can enter an address manually, if gps doesn't get it right.

That’s a really good idea but I think my fave purchase for shopping has been my reinforced fold up reusable box shaped bags. I can fit 3 or 4 grocery bags in each one. The handles are really solid. So I can easily deliver 6-8 grocery bags using just 2 box/bags. On Amazon these are the exact ones I’m talking about reusable tote box/bags
i paid a few bucks for,this one, I'm very satisfied. 9 times out of 10, it will show the correct address on the stamp. if gps won't display it correctly, i can manually type it in. often, I'll do that in advance regardless, as it's entered by the customer. i opt in to displaying the map on the photo as well, as more verification that I'm at that physical address.

I also use Insta-crates, which are super convenient for organizing and hauling bags or free-range Costco items. They fold into themselves too so they won't take up a lot of space in your Mini like a laundry basket would.

I have the same issue as you! I'm scatterbrained and have 2 vehicles to make it worse. I bought one of these phone cases... it has been a sanity saver! It only holds 3 cards even though you may be able to stuff a 4th in there, but because of that it's slim. I'm sure they make them for all phones, even though I have an old ass iPhone 6s. haha!

I keep them in a Fanny pack in my car and when I need jus have around my waist while shopping then I throw the ones I am done using in a another pocket in the Fanny pack because I go through them fast and when I get in my car or outside I throw the ones I use away in a bag that I have in my car. Then in another pocket I have the ones that I haven’t used and a extra pack of stickers when I need extra of that color.

You will have to do this on a computer so it’s best that you have a laptop running Windows 10 (although I hear there’s a Mac version too). BlueStacks is memory intensive and will run very slow if you have less than 8 GB of RAM.

They were good enough to give me traction over ice patches where the snow had melted and refroze.. which is amazing when you’re holding heavy groceries. If there was any slipping, it would be a very quick and small amount.

I’ve shopped for about 4 years, my favorite cart has been the one I got from Amazon - Cosco Shifter. Before that, I used a utility wagon which I still have but it’s so bulky that when I’m not cartin, it’s killjoy for my trunk space!

From what im seeing, the gorilla cart isnt collapsible. Which is problematic for a grocery deliverer. This is what i was talking about.

Nah, for real. Hot/cold bags. Some people carry huge ones, I carry a lot of small ones. If you're doing Costco, you definitely want the huge ones.
If your State allows plastic bags(mine does not except the thick ones) then consider a carry handle(Like these) and also a cart for big deliveries to apartments like these. I am not selling anything, but stuff like these can be found cheaper, and are quite popular among the community here.

And don't just snap the picture from the DD app cam. If you switch to the app below when you're walking up to make the delivery, you can drop the order, snap picture and then upload it in the DD app as your walk away. Big benefit is that you have the time and date stamped image which auto adds the address geo location and if DD had a complaint about a delivery, you have the image too show them it was completed.

Why is that hard to believe?? All the horror stories, I am trying to preemptively cover any issues. It clips to a suction cup mount when I am driving, and then clips to me when I go anywhere that is out of direct view of it from my car. It has gps and time on it. Records continuously, but 15 minutes clips to make it easier to share.
