There is good info here for learning about UTC.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone/utc
For example, I am currently living in the USA in the central time zone, we are observing daylight savings time, so that's UTC-5. I have to add 5 hours to my local time to know what the time is in UTC format. 04:16 in my local time is 09:16 UTC.
Use the clock on that web site to find the UTC time. Instead of city or country enter "UTC".
I have no idea how battallions are used here. I hope they figure that out soon so our press can count towards extending the life of THEBUTTON.
If it makes you feel better, I too am limited to what I can purchase/use from the Google Play store. Blackberry 10, while being able to utilise many Android applications, is unable to run most applications that require the Google Play Services. :/
What you can do is for certain locate an IRC application and optionally take part by sideloading a monitoring application to keep you aware of what's currently ongoing! Here's one of the better observation apps. MEGA Sideload APK.
As I've never used a Kindle or Fire Phone, I'm not quite sure if the notification services will correlate across to make it work, but it should hopefully at least provide basic functionality. :)
I have had a quick look at a Time zone map and there could be a few time zones where we lack enough knights. For instance -11 and -10 only contain Alaska, -1 contains only Iceland and several West African countries, -2 on the map contains only Greenland and the Sandwich Islands. Someone calm me down before I do something stupid that I will regret later, like pushing the button already.
