It may be more trouble than it's worth but there are apps which are intended to replace physical home buttons or multi button touch nav bars. You may have to configure some gestures other than the usual swipe up for home and for up and hold for recents to something like swipe left for back and tap for home and swipe right for recents. If you change your default setup to the 3 button nav bar instead of the gesture bar you can tell the app to hide the stock nav bar and replace it with a very customizable bar. It can be made fully transparent or a tiny line or take up half the screen if you want. This app is actually still working just not seeing premium status anymore and it's probably the best example.
I used an app called Button Mapper Pro. It costs a couple bucks but it works, have been using it for a couple month with no issues. It's handy because you can remap one button for multiple functions, i.e. I use the assistant button for play/pause media on a single press and flashlight on/off for long press.

From the sounds of it, the recent update may have included the dynamic color patch which should change Google app colors according to your background. Since the accent menu is not a standard A12 feature (like dynamic colors, it was added as a Pixel exclusive feature on A12 with it becoming standard on A12L/A13), you will need to use an app such as LWP+ to change it:
None of LG apps were updated to use dynamic colors which is why you will still need to use the default Accent options in Settings or a theme for some UI elements (both are technically the same thing for LG devices). While it's not common for themes to change Google apps, it generally won't work on A12 because of how dynamic colors were implemented.
Hi Ahslan,
I power down my phone every night before I go to sleep, also I've recently started using this app again: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm&hl=en as it seems to do a great job of cleaning out the unwanted clutter out of my phone.
This is the one I have currently. The back is rubber and just needed a slight shave for my tmobile velvet in the camera area so it fits and does not block. the camera or lift up.
Have you tried: "Call Recorder - Cube ACR"?
I have NOT used it on a LG Velvet but it worked a few times on my LG V60 a couple of weeks ago. (I've since sold the V60 so I can't test it at the moment.) However I've used it on a bunch of different Samsung phones and It's worked flawlessly! I think on the LG I may have had to tweak a setting but I can't remember. I do remember it working at least 8/10 times...Let me know if it works!
I've had a change of heart since finding this screen protector and deciding to not take things for granted. I was trying to find the wrap around type but they aren't made any more so this one is the closest I've found. It's edges do cover the screens curves well and completely. Once you get the application part down it's a great and very low profile screen protector. Here is the Amazon link if your interested.

You realize you can get a Ghostek case designed for the LG Velvet? This appears to be the last of them as they are no longer listed in Ghostek's website anymore. I picked up one and it is not bad fir $6 US.
Very difficult to do with curved screens. The only options I've seen are this:
And this
the plastic would worry me slipping out of my hands or pocket. i went with a china brand tpu case for $4.99. its got a rough rubber around it and its got a great grip, which is my biggest worry. yeah, it covers the lens bezel, but not the lens, so whatever. cant win them all.
Ended up getting this for $4.99: Dzxouui for LG Velvet Case. yes, it sits a bit on the edge of the lens area, but does not block the lens when a pic is taken. so many velvet phone cases have this issue. what genius thought this was a good idea to design variants that shift the camera by 1mm or 2?

seems to be the closest thing that i used to have with my S-Line TPU case on my old v20 phone. it's rubbery TPU, and does the job. just wish it had side indented grips and enough height to protect the screen, but i didnt see any velvet covers that really did that. overall a very poor design on the LG velvet to use a beveled raised glass and really poor gimmick to have a curved glass, since it introduces an easy breaking point edge. but for the $90 that i paid, it is what it is. end of rant.

try this one it's fit perfect on live demo velvet
I ordered one called the 'merge' by Tudia from Amazon. I have the same cutout issue as well (T-Mobile w/mediatech cpu) with the 2 other cases I've tried.

Lol sorry about that. I'm a dork
I use this one and a Spigen case they work perfectly together. The edges of the screen protector end where the edges of the case start.
I use this one.
It's glass, works with my case, easy to apply and lasts months and months.
The only down side I've found is the adhesive is only on the sides so sometimes dust can get in from the top and bottom.
I hate the finger feel of the plastic ones, and they all seem to migrate around the screen in my pocket. The end up covering tha camera.
Just my two cents
A shorter and more secure way to paste that link is like this:
That adapter is not allowing you to keep your Velvet charged. You will need something with an USB-C-input, like this one:
(I have not tested that one, but I have many others on various LG flagships that support USB-C 3.0 / HDMI-out)
In general, I recommend to avoid (for LG flagships with 3.5mm) picking any USB-C hubs with their own headphone 3.5mm jack out, because they can be confusing to attach to a TV (no sound on TV), while your Velvet has a better 3.5mm amp anyways.
These ones works great https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07CCN9FQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Cz75FbWHPY87D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I paired them with these wall warts https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B072LV8T43/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_al5Bei77LS25H

I ordered this one for my Velvet yesterday. You can get one that has more watts than you need. You're phone will only pull what it needs. If I remember* you match volts and ensure more amps than you need so you don't burn out your power supply by trying to draw more juice than it can supply. *Disclaimer, I might be wrong.
I found this on Amazon https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B089LT6964/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_423GFb1YQ4E9E
I have this type on my galaxy S9 (curved screen) for around 2 years and very happy with it. There are numerous others showing on the site as "unavailable". Maybe model is still too new.
I'm not using tempered glass - I have a plastic screen protector on both screens:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B088N9PT9J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This one worked well because the protector comes flat, instead of coming pre-curved, so it fits the second screen very well. It doesn't add any appreciable thickness to either screen so the case still closes just fine.
You want a case for a case? Like an outside cover for the phone with the dual-screen case? Doesn't exist. Dual screen is a case.
You can at least protect the inside screen with a film screen protector. This it what I went with, one on the dual screen, one on the velvet screen & one on the velvet back (cut some to make room for the cameras).
Maybe you could find an extra to cut up for the outside display, though I doubt it'll stay very well. Maybe get some 3m vinyl or something for the outside of the case, at least it'll provide some scratch protection.
