I've never been able to wear over-ear headphones because I find them painful due to the stems of my glasses. I know earbuds are largely considered "less good" for gaming, but I've used a couple of these over the years for gaming, music, and work. They're sensitive enough and noise-canceling enough that I can reliably pick up environmental cues in FPS games, often while listening to music simultaneously, which is all I'm really concerned with.

The same company has a wireless set, but I haven't tested them thoroughly enough to provide an opinion on whether they'd be sufficient for gaming.

They're also hella cheap, so if they break due to the many things that seem to happen to headsets, it's not a big deal.

Fallen Hero: Rebirth! It's soooo good, way better than most Choice of Games, I can't recommend it enough. Excellent writing, especially for the main character, interesting characters and worldbuilding, and really good romances.

You play as a former superhero turned supervillain after a mission that went traumatically wrong. The main character suffers from a lot of mental health issues and the game delves into their headspace a lot in really impactful ways. The romance with Charge (AKA Julia Ortega), your former partner from your superhero days is soooo good. (There's also 2 other good WLW options).

It's very good at letting relationships change in nature over time. Maybe you had a thing back in the day that's being rekindled, maybe there were years of secret pining finally boiling over, or maybe you're only just discovering your feelings. Maybe they'll remain secret until your dying breath since the two of you are supposed to be on opposite sides now. Rebirth is the first in a planned 4-part series. The second, Retribution, is in open alpha right now and is already great.
