I've used the Bodygroom for years. It's very safe and effective.

I've been using the Bodygroom for years (this version) and it works very well. It leaves the skin smooth and I never get any cut or irritation. Just stretch the skin and move the shaver slowly. It also comes with attachments for trimming and to reach the back.
I haven't tried the Oneblade.
See my post I just wrote for this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B086PL2QYR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the one I've been searching for forever. No cuts/nicks, not sharp enough to do damage unless you're trying to. Finally found something that works and doesn't cut me up down there!
What cream are you looking at? Nad's is a 6.8% Thiogylcolate and 0.5% Potassium Hydroxide depilatory cream and contains urea. Having used this, I can tell you it didn't do a fucking thing for me. It's CHEAP, so feel free to get a small tube and test it out on a small (3cm x 3cm) spot on the upper pubic area. In my experience, no hair was removed, no roots were depilated, but boy oh boy were the chemical burns glorious. I used for 3 minutes as recommended by the manufacturer; this did nothing. I did 5 minutes, not exceeding the 6 minute limit by the manufacturer. I won't say this did nothing because little beads of blood began popping up through the cream. It somehow removed less hair and caused more damage than shaving with a 3-blade disposable razor. Maybe I'm an outlier, because over 7,600 people gave it 4 stars or more. Depilate with caution, and don't do it too frequently in too short a timespan. AND KEEP HYDROCORTIZONE ON HAND.
Look into this, still made from Philips, the downside is you shouldn't use it on your face but it cuts your hair easier and shorter and it's cheaper. There also is a light blue one without the back accessory that goes for cheaper if you don't need it but i cant find it on amazon.com
alot of people on this sub and I recommend getting a trimmer from the Phillips Norelco Multigroom series. It does the job well and comes with a ton of attachments.

You could also go for the manscaped lawnmower series, although I have not tried it.
Nad’s. Has always worked well for me, albeit having a slight odor. Even have been a couple mins late on removing it and it’s still not burned me. Highly recommend!
I've read some Amazon reviews on it, and I've been seeing a lot of people unsatisfied with the product, claiming it nicked their ball sack. I think it's really more clever marketing as opposed to a quality product.
Your mileage may vary, but I personally use the Philips Norelco OneBlade (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D328DH8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BKwBEbP1MC6E8) to trim things down. its a lot less than the Manscaped razor and it hasn't nicked my nutsack. It has some combs to help get the right trim, too.
Your hair follicles are still being clogged and/or infected. Hydrating the skin is a great first step. Make sure you are exfoliating everyday as well. I have also used this lotion and it made a huge difference in red bumps. finipil Lait 50,1.5 fl oz, 44 ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C4YJL96/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_-u4ZBb0SC0NY4
I think it is safe to say that a lot of men have had the same type of problem - although maybe not the same degree. My adivce would be to leave the hair the way it is right now and just put some baby powder or cream on the skin in that area. My advice would be not use a straight razor, but actually use one of the Schick electric bikini/leg trimmer. I know it might sound silly but I stole my GF once and tried it and since then i have been using nothing but that. Since it is designed to go on that area, the area and angle at which it cuts is gentle on the skin.
Hope this helps
