That is probably the 4-LP 45rpm remaster and probably the very last of that stock. Amazon tends to use an algorithm that will adjust the price according to scarcity and available stock. I would suggest that you try and find a local shop to get it from, since they usually won't completely screw you over on the price. That said, I know no everyone has access to a local shop, so maybe eBay would be a good place to get it from. Also, discogs is pretty awesome as well!

They have been. Huge difference in sound compared to what you've heard before. Also, it's Apple's requirement that they have to use the highest quality master tracks, with no audible distortion or clipping before they'll even begin the task, and they have to submit to a full re-mix and remaster, having some input on how it sounds.
https://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/docs/mastered_for_itunes.pdf
Can you try a different CD drive? Also try using Exact Audio Copy, it requires some setup (a good guide here) but creates great results.
To the best of my knowledge (which usually isn't that great) these are the stems from Guitar Hero and I think a few are from some DVD related to the Black Album.
EDIT: Just started uploading 3 GB of Death Magnetic instrumental FLAC files. Even individual drums are separated out. I'll update when upload is complete.
Oh, found this. Looks like a very nice site, apart from the crazy amount of ads.
edit: especially the sample from West Side Story is very interesting.
Other than ‘Some Kind of Monster’ and concert vids/VH1 Behind The Music, there’s not many bio-pics. I would suggest a great audiobook ‘Birth School Metallica Death’ https://www.audible.com/pd/Birth-School-Metallica-Death-Volume-1-Audiobook/B00G3L3X7W
That is what I am talking about, the only available stems available are compressed into lossy format(not to mention downsampled) for an open source game called Frets on Fire. They combine everything into four tracks and compress them to get the best sound for the smallest filesize. Which unfortunately looks like they went for a bitrate of 128Kbps.
I thought those were the best quality you could get until I extracted them from the game myself. Which is why I am taking time to make sure people get the best quality.
No, I think it's a fitting tribute as it's really the last song on which he has writing credits.
It's also often referred to as Metallica's tribute to Cliff (see http://www.encycmet.com/songs/sj2l2die.shtml or http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=3272).
For ALL your tablature needs I suggest Songsterr. There is a huge library of songs and it often has all instruments tabbed out AND you can listen to them all individually if you want (even in the free version). Use the "select an instrument" drop-down to go through the different instruments on the song. Click play and you can watch the slider go through the tune note by note. Jump to anywhere in the song you want. I'm not affiliated with the site I just use it everyday (for free) and I think anybody that plays guitar/bass/drums would love it.
Give Eargasm a shot. I used them for Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine and Breaking Benjamin. They really do take out all the harmful bass and my ears felt great afterward. Any kind of high fidelity earplugs should be good. They don't make the sound as muddy as foam earplugs. Sound quality is much better. I have heard Dubz is a good brand as well.
Thanks for all of the kind words and encouragement about my cover of "Fixxxer." I co-host an all Metallica podcast called Metal Up Your Podcast. We produced Volume 1 of our Cover Our World Blackened series last year and have only offered it to Patrons until now. If you like these tunes you can purchase the EP wherever you find music. Links for iTunes and Amazon below.
Here's the traklist:
If you dig the EP, consider leaving a positive review. We're a DIY podcast all the way. My co-host and I carve time out of our day jobs to create this kind of content solely out of love for and celebration of Metallica. Thanks for taking the time to listen and read this. Happy Saturday!
No bar code
EDIT: Just looked up the catalog number on discogs again, and I guess i was confused. The first press has no bar code like you said (which is what I have)... This is the exact disc I have, https://www.discogs.com/Metallica-Creeping-Death/release/447916
Watched an S&M doc on YouTube today, James or Lars kinda said at different times "We wrote two new songs" and "the two new songs have been sitting on tape for a couple of years"... Kinda consistent (in early 1999) with dusting off a couple of Load/Reload leftovers and finishing the writing.
Here's a link suggesting I Disappear is from those sessions:
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=7901
Buts it's not cited and doesn't seem to be a reliable source. From memory the same site says Human/Clover were from Load/Reload too.
The band has admitted to a section of the track incorporating Mustaine’s ideas. Number 4 on the list. There are plenty of other articles that back it up. Not bullshit.
I would kill for a new version, even though it'll never happen for many reasons. However, download http://www.dwsk.co.uk/ Phase Shift the guitar hero clone for PC, and search around on Google for downloadable songs (either Phase Shift or Frets on Fire versions will work). I've just recently got into it, and a few days ago found every Metallica album, including all of Hardwired and even Beyond Magnetic. It's really fun, even if it's not as good as GH Metallica was.
Here's just a little something I'd like to share. When they began performing, my sister - who is fully aware that Metallica is my favorite band - texted me to ask if I was watching. Of course I was. I intended to watch the Grammy's solely to see them, so I loyally waited for them to perform. I'm pretty sure I speak for all of us when I say I wouldn't miss such a rare televised event for the world.
Anyway, my sister works as a nurse at a hospital and she told me that two of her patients are Metallica fans. They really wanted to watch the performance; they were such dedicated fans that they told her this though their sedation. Those are true fans right there. I find it sort of fitting that she shared this with me, considering what One is about. I thanked her again for the Metallica calendar she bought for me this past Christmas. Even my parents, who are your run-of-the-mill "metal is just noise parents," watched it knowing how much I love the guys, and their criticism actually wasn't as harsh as I expected.
Maybe I'm gawking a little too much (hey, that's the closest I'll ever get to attending a live show), but I popped on Facebook to say a few kind words to the band for their performance. My sister immediately responded saying that One has always been one of her favorites. I've known my sister my whole life (I'm 24 and she's 38) and I only learned last night that she likes not only my favorite band, but also my third favorite band, Green Day. Lo and behold, there was Billie Joe Armstrong on stage not long afterwards.
As for the performance itself, I agree with hulknuts that the pianist imitating the sounds of the gunfight at the beginning was kind of a rocky start, but once the band came in, it was phenomenal as always. I thought the piano went surprisingly well with the solo. Then again, the S&M concert pretty much proved that metal and classical are two genres that mesh together surprisingly well.
songsterr.com It's better than ultimate guitar and those other popular sites cause its consistent. Ultimate Guitar has some text based tabs, some guitar pro tabs, and then like 10 versions of each song, most of which are garbage.
The Audio-Technica AT-LP60-BT or similar could be a good and no really expensive turntable to enjoy your records correctly https://smile.amazon.com/-/es/ATLP60REDBT/dp/B083W1LLK3/ref=sr_1_53?__mk_es_US=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=audio+technica&qid=1614740808&sr=8-53
Heres the link for the pre-order of the boxset on Amazon.ca, so I imagine there is a US link as well. It's just not live yet
I hate admitting this but besides my scary guy T-shirt I got from the stadium tour, my favorite is the one I got from Target that just says Metallica, and that’s it
After some Amazoning I think this is now my favorite
Beavis & Butthead Metallica Logo Adult Blue T-shirt (Adult Medium) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGPD3MG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_z7xMCb859KZDW
Not exactly earbuds, but these have been my favourite headphones for over 10 years: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-Porta-Pro-Black-Headphones/dp/B0755N6CSR/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536354310&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=koss+portapro&psc=1
It’s a this.
Hopefully your dad can pull some strings. Metallica are like the Beatles or Stones of metal. Definitely not Satanic in any way. Heck, order a copy of this book and leave it on the coffee table in the living room!
I am positive that James or Lars or both have read Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War.”
My single favorite lesson of his is:
“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
Seriously recommend reading this for anyone, as his teachings are applicable to pretty much everything in life.
I literally specified album cover in the post...
I know how to google, I looked for 30 minutes to try to find a shirt with the Album Cover Art. None have the cover art.
Reebok Men's Bb4500 Hi 2 Sneaker,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077ZKSXWQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I recommend these I got them and they’re pretty close to what a lot of thrash bands wore in the 80s, they’re even the same brand (Reebok’s)
Yes. There's a lot of comments along the likes of "I don't want to dampen the sound" and "you'll be fine if you're further away", but they'll be regretting that later in life (like me, I regret my younger years of not caring).
Invest in a pair of high fidelity earplugs like these. They are cheap, amazing, prevent hearing loss and tinnitus, and the music still sounds perfect.
No judgment at all. Do it. People who think they're too cool to wear them can enjoy their tinnitus in later years.
But whatever you do, don't get foam plugs. Those are for construction. I use these, but there are many out there now with these styles. The problem with foam plugs is that they reduce the high frequencies so much, so all you're left with is a muddy sound. It won't make you want to wear them again. These ones to a pretty good job at reducing all frequencies pretty evenly.

I got Kill Em All from Amazon like 6 months ago and they still have it. Best price around.
I'm wasn't aware that they've stopped selling the digipack version with the DVD.
I know they've printed new copies on their Blackened label because I have a copy on both the Elektra and Blackened labels.
Amazon U.S. still seems to have it: https://www.amazon.com/St-Anger-Explicit-Version-Metallica/dp/B00009XBUQ
Metallica - Fixxxer Redux T Shirt https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HDD44KR/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_G4CSXNV3867DCA33R136
I did find this, looks like it got a reprint or something. If they are officially working with the band or not I'm sure?
I just went to prime and ran a search for Metallica. I'm not a Prime subscriber and this link came up, so it's free to everyone.
Hey, getting into vinyl is great, but you will enjoy records a hell of a lot more if you get yourself a true record player, an amp and some nice speakers. You can get vintage consumer grade players really cheap. Any 80's japanese turntable will be decent and also an amazing improvement compared to these all in one record destroyers (they really do destroy vinyl.. If you have any valuable records, I recommend you don't play them) example + a decent stylus that comes with it.
Munk One will have his copies available through his site soon. Be sure to sign up for his mailing list since that's mainly where he promotes his poster sales. You can sign up here: https://emailoctopus.com/lists/9dcd27c3-9eb8-11e8-a3c9-06b79b628af2/forms/subscribe
Good luck!
If you're looking to do a FLAC rip, the FLAC website has a few decent tools.
A good general purpose audio ripping / transcoding suite of utilities is dBpoweramp
Nope, AIMP. Available for Windows and Android from here https://www.aimp.ru/
Discovered it a couple of months ago and I use it daily cause it delivers great quality and customization.
Connect your iPhone to your computer through ITunes (make sure iTunes is up to date). Import the tracks into iTunes, and then drag them over to your phone’s music. You can choose to sync your whole iTunes library to your phone. I keep that off and manually drag and drop. This article seems to have decent instructions too:
https://airmore.com/transfer-mp3-to-iphone.html
Hope this helps!
Thanks. I did a lot research on record players and came across a brand called "1 by one" and got this one for about $200. Thing's got weighted arm, belt-drive turntable, an integrated speaker as well as the option to output to external speakers via AV cables, and Bluetooth in case you need that. There's also a version without the speaker and more functions and features if that helps.
Now all it needs is some more vinyl, though if I want anymore Metallica I feel like it has to be the Walmart special editions.
My first taste of Metallica was from my dad who heard Until It Sleeps and the radio but didn't know the name of the song or album. He bought Ride the Lightning and when realizing it wasn't on that album he gave me the album.
Also, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R689KFP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_DZ8KFM0AZN5624HK6TW9
I used these: Album Mount Vinyl Record Shelf Stand and Wall Mount, Invisible and Adjustable, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CH7GBG1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_W29Q6FD8DY5W3D4DKFKE?psc=1
They say to use the two parts together but I was able to get away with using one half of the hanger for each record. I carefully measured where to put each screw (it only takes 1 per hanger) and screwed each hanger into place. I did end up having to use two halves on the S&M2 album just because that thing is a honking beast, but overall it’s a really simple and relatively easy installation. I hope that they release Limited Edition vinyls of Metallica’s other main albums so I can have a full set but we will have to wait and see if that happens.
Nice! I used a pair of Ahead sticks as my warmup sticks years ago. Twenty minutes of rudiments with those and a pair of normal wooden sticks feels like you're holding a feather in each hand.
A recommendation from the peanut gallery: the sticks grip much better if you wrap the holds with cloth tape like this.
They've also already got It's Electric up as a single: https://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Nations-2020-Head-Diamond/dp/B08GQ23Z8G
I swear with these guys, you turn your head for one second and they've already got something in the pipeline.
I don't buy anything else.
I get the pack of 36 off Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Dunlop-Black-James-Hetfield-Guitar/dp/B00498CQTC
Though I want to try out James' new White Fang picks that he's been using lately. https://www.reddit.com/r/Metallica/comments/9o0ekg/james_threw_3_picks_off_his_mic_stand_at_the_end/
Haven't seen a flick-comb since I visited Paris, some 30 years ago.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Style-Stainless-Flick-Comb-Safety/dp/B00BM5Y72E
If you want to be able to slow down music locally, you can use Amazing Slow Downer (mac/pc app & android app). I love it, works great. I put it on my tablet.
They sent out an email. It is going to get delivered on August 28th, they have all pre-orders ready to be shipped out but waiting for a few days before so people don't get it before the release date. Also the box set is still currently available on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Box-4LP-2CD-Blu-ray/dp/B08CWCG2BF
Using the only text I could see I found it to be the Crosley Ridgmont Entertainment Center | CR7010a
$172.81 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Crosley-Ridgemont-Turntable-Bluetooth-CR7010A-BK/dp/B0868YBBB3
I can almost guarantee it isn't going to be very good as either a turntable or a tape deck.
Or the new Jazz III cut of those. Real all the benefits. https://www.amazon.com/Dunlop-498P-88-Tortex-Green-Players/dp/B00ISQCO6Q/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Tortex+Jazz+III+XL%2C&qid=1571149348&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-1
Then you must have misunderstood - he has been described as wearing flares in multiple interviews with the band and his friends. Flares are nothing like boot cuts, only "closer" than a bell bottom. Here's an example https://www.amazon.com/SATINA-Waisted-Palazzo-Printed-Medium/dp/B074CLXNTG?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_1
Hetfield’s are 1.14mm so it would actually be these that you want.
Dunlop 488P1.14 Tortex Pitch Black, 1.14mm, 12/Player's Pack
'So What: the Good The Mad and the Ugly' covers the Load/Reload/St Anger period pretty well.
Just in case, this is what I run for my Snakebyte + the extension...
Lars put together a 2 or 3 disc CD collection quite a few years ago called "New Wave of British Heavy Metal", of which it had 2 or 3 songs that Metallica had covered at that point, I'd love to hear all the rest of it done Metallica style.
Jesus, I wish I still had my copy of that from the old days: https://www.amazon.com/British-Various-Artists-Leppard-1994-02-22/dp/B01A7U96RA
The FULL set is now on Amazon for $139.08.
The only thing with Amazon is that they tend to sometimes run out of stock and your preorder can go to a backorder. That happened with my HWTSD cd. However, it was just recently listed so hopefully it won't be an issue (but it could be)
I'm cancelling mine on the MetStore and ordering from Amazon. $50 savings (free ship from Amazon) is too much to pass up.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0757G4WTT
EDIT: You can also get it @ Soundstagedirect for $140 with the Labor day promo code (won't last long)
I use these Corsair for my computer speakers. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-High-Power-Speaker-CA-SP211NA/dp/B004H0MQYW
I wouldn't suggest buying them for any other use, but for a good computer setup, I haven't been let down with them. I used to have the 2.1 from Klipsch which sounded amazing at lower volumes, but they crackled at higher volumes. The sub on this is loud and booming without creating a muddy sound.
I am by no means an audiophile, and I'm sure you can purchase a much better setup, but everyone I've had listen to these speakers have complimented them.
Amazon Prime? Or a local record store?
This thing drops a week before Record Store Day. Given that they were the ambassadors for the one in spring I'm wondering if they have a surprise in the works for black Friday.....I'm hoping
Edit: Amazon - Hardwired...To Self-Destruct (Limited Deluxe Edition) Box set, Limited Edition - $54.14 free prime shipping https://www.amazon.com/Hardwired-Self-Destruct-Limited-Deluxe-Metallica/dp/B01KP8CSWY
I've not been to a Metallica concert yet, but I've been to many very loud shows and have sworn by these for years: http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-ETY-Plugs-Protection-Earplugs/dp/B0044DEESS
They're cheap, they keep my ears safe even in the loudest conditions, and I can still hear and enjoy the music perfectly fine. Highly recommended!
