>Apple is no longer choosing to promote the content by listing it in its own directory.
Being in a directory isn't promotion.
This is promotion: https://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/images/podcast_hero_hardware_large.jpg
Or you can use iTunes Match and stream your music library on your devices and download specific songs on the go for offline listening. Also if it matches your songs to something in iTunes Store it is upgraded to 256kbps. (Yes pirated music as well)
Lastly, you get no Ads in iTunes Radio while you are subscribed to Match.
They haven't got $100M. That's some stupid rumor. Stupid rumors about Apple spread like wildfire. Some third party estimated that the deal could be worth up to $100M. Both benefit from this. Apple paid some undisclosed amount, they'll be using their music in ads, they have the album exclusively for a few weeks. And U2 gets exposure, 20 albums of them are already in the iTunes top 100.
Just checked. It's currently #57 on its chart of top grossing free games behind such epic behemoths as "Slots: Heart of Vegas" and "Caesars Slots." (Contest of champions is #22, Future Fight is #39)
On the Apple side, it's about the same, #54. https://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/top-grossing-apps/
Great work, FN!
Apparently this is different per country. I was viewing this from United States. You can check here:
Tesla has a referral/affiliate program, a marketing method employed by virtually every B2C business, from Amazon and Apple all the way to Zions bank.
Through an affiliate or referral program, a business compensates people for sending them business. Paying non-employees to send business is marketing/advertising in pure form.
“Apple Digital Masters” was the new name for the “Mastered for iTunes” program. Anything that is an Apple Digital Master was encoded from the 24-bit PCM master to a 256kbps AAC by Apple. So if Apple still has the 24-bit masters, it should be fairly easy for them to encode to ALAC as well. Source: https://www.apple.com/itunes/docs/apple-digital-masters.pdf
Opens faster. I would like a brief splash screen, though (like ≤ Calculator - about a second). This page also needs updating. At least I can now uninstall Bonjour and Apple Application Support. 🙂
Yes. Apple, famously, is not allowed to have anything to do with making or selling music.

> I think most people consider $0 to mean mass media spend on print, online, and TV. Which is true.
Going to repeat what I said above:
>Tesla has a referral/affiliate program, a marketing method employed by virtually every B2C business, from Amazon and Apple all the way to Zions bank.
>Through an affiliate or referral program, a business compensates people for sending them business. Paying non-employees to send business is marketing/advertising in pure form.
Yes, Tesla's marketing/advertising budget is immaterial, but it exists.
Pretty much anyone can be a MS or iTunes affiliate. All it means is you link to their site and get some percentage of sales.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/DisplayHelpSiteAffiliateProgramPage/
Honestly, you may want to save yourself the trouble and just get iTunes Match. Set up the external on your Mac Mini, and just have iTunes Match on, so when you add new music, it will scan it, and you can access it.
To add to this, it’s now called “Apple Digital Masters” not MFiT and you can download the free software to convert and check here.
The guy at Apple to talk to from what I’ve read is Buddy Judge.
I think the salient point is this:
> you permanently own a DRM free high quality copy of that music
Once you unsubscribe from Apple Music you lose access to any higher quality versions of tracks you may have already owned. So for example if you had a copy of a song at 128kbps, while you are subscribed to Apple Music, the matching service within that will allow you to stream the same song in 256kbps AAC, even if it is just in the iTunes store but not on Apple Music (e.g. The Beatles). However once you unsubscribe from Apple Music you no longer have access to this higher quality copy, and you can only listen to your own 128kbps version.
With iTunes Match you are able to permanently download any tracks matched that you have in a lower quality, and when you unsubscribe you can still keep them.
> What happens if I don’t resubscribe after the first year? Will I lose any upgraded songs?
> No. Any songs you’ve upgraded or downloaded again are completely safe. The only thing you lose is the central storage — iCloud will no longer stream or download matched or uploaded songs to your devices.
They have been. Huge difference in sound compared to what you've heard before. Also, it's Apple's requirement that they have to use the highest quality master tracks, with no audible distortion or clipping before they'll even begin the task, and they have to submit to a full re-mix and remaster, having some input on how it sounds.
https://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/docs/mastered_for_itunes.pdf
Yes. Apple calls them iTunes+ and Apple Music delivers this whenever possible.
https://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/

>By starting with the best possible masters we are able to offer our Apple Music and iTunes customers the highest possible quality audio. Our latest encoder can take advantage of every bit of the high-resolution masters that engineers are creating especially for us. The results, both for streaming and download, are virtually indistinguishable from the original 24 bit studio masters.
Its biggest weakness, however, is that it will provide no way to earn cards for free. This cripples any potential for the game to get masses of players, since we know from studies done on F2P titles that the vast majority of the audience doesn't drive much if any revenue at all with whales making up the majority of money made from such games.
Why does this matter, though? Well, it matters because those non-whale players are still important for building a playerbase, a community, a viewerbase, all important for engaging those whales with your title (if they have nobody to play against and show off in front of, the whales won't buy shit for thousands of dollars).
This won't stop the game from being successful. But I am guessing it will stop the game from being a phenomenon like say Hearthstone was around release, with dozens of millions of players and topping charts in mobile markets all over.
Especially seeing as success on mobile pretty much requires that a game be F2P. Find the first paid game on the iTunes store or Google Play. Let me help you out, Minecraft, the top paid title on both iTunes and Android is 61st on iTunes' top grossing apps list and 91st on Google Play's top grossing games list.
All of those places have clear cut documeptation about how you can use their logo.. For example, this spells out how Apple wants you to use the iTunes logo.
Spotify and Google will have their own policies, sure, but they'll be similar and can be found with a simple Googling. I found that document by looking for 'apple itunes marketing logo policy', shouldn't be too hard to sub in the others and find their requirements.
You need an RSS feed with a podcast and album art that is square and between 1400x1400 and 3000x3000 and preferably .5 MB or smaller. You sign up for iTunes at
It usually doesn't take long but the July 4th holiday in the US may delay things.

Depends more on your final distribution and less on sonic quality. Do you plan on releasing through Apple Music, Amazon Music HD/Ultra HD, Spotify Premium, Tidal or other high resolution channels? If so, you should master at 24bit.
Sonically, you will not be losing much by going with 44.1kHz/16bit, but it might keep you from being able to take advantage of some marketing and distribution opportunities.
Info on Apple Digital Masters
BTW, in my earlier comment when I said ALAC from the iTunes Store, I meant to say the "Apple Digital Masters" (previously known as "Mastered for iTunes") nonsense that Apple has been pushing. I'll edit my original comment to clarify that.
This relates to the "loudness war" that has been going on in popular music for decades. Really, it used to be about the radio, and having your song be a little bit louder than the others would mean that it would stand out more. However, that also meant that the audio sounded like a brick wall and had almost no dynamic range. As iPods and then iPhones became ubiquitous, this got even worse, because people in music studios were making decisions about how to produce, mix, and master their recordings to optimize for people wearing fucking Apple earbuds, which is why a lot of music from 2005-ish+ sounds the way it does.
I believe Apple helped to develop the tools to deliver "Mastered for iTunes" audio files to help standardize things as a response to the "loudness war", but IMO most iTunes downloads still sound kinda crappy, as do Amazon MP3. While there are audiophiles and musicians and producers and other music professionals working at both companies, they are ultimately just trying to sell a product vs. trying to preserve the integrity of the art, so you can likely expect any compromises to err on the side of commerce.
Considering Pokemon Go is still #2 on the list of top grossing Android apps and #6 on the iOS App Store, I think they’re doing okay.
First, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed which you can download here. With a cable connected iTunes should detect and use the iPod without issue.
You shouldn't need to mess with drivers in Windows at all. iTunes does all of the management for this, not Windows.
Consider connecting the iPod with a different USB port on your computer.
If you continue having issues, consider trying a new cable. While I don't believe the cable is at fault, it's a good troubleshooting step.
You may also try connecting the iPod in DFU mode. Hold menu and select until the display goes black while connected over USB.
Hope this helps.
>If you want to actually organize the media so that they are in Apple Music and the videos appear in your Videos app.....Then just add them to the appropriate sections of iTunes. If you have iTunes Match, they will instantly be available > https://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/ >You can also put them in your iTunes and then connect to your home network via "Home Sharing" and just stream the file from your local computer to your iOS device while on your home network.
So you still need iTunes for certain tasks.
I don't know what to say. I've been trying to download iOS 8.4 for 3 hours now, I'm stuck at "Estimating time remaining.." Took me 2 downloads of OS X 10.10.4 to get it installed, the first one said corrupted for some reason on install.. then I'm stuck on iTunes 12.1.2.
The https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ website says iTunes 12.2 coming soon, but how soon? Already missed the opening of Beats 1.. Can't listen to it, can't get iOS 8.4, can't use iTunes tethered to the iPhone 5 to get the installation since I was running iOS 8.4 Beta (legit).. I'm stuck Beats1less.
So I guess I'm tuned to Beats 0 then.
I thought they’d want to beat Amazon also.
Side note: I remember when they rebranded to “Apple Digital Masters” I went through then documentation and saw they preferred the audio to be provided in 24-bit PCM and got super excited because it means they have Hi-Res versions of the ADM. (Source : https://www.apple.com/itunes/docs/apple-digital-masters.pdf).
It really depends on the source and the encoding process.
As Apple described they are able to get better dynamic range than a lossless CD rip since they encode straight from the higher-bit masters.
It's probably why I can't tell the difference between Apple Music and Tidal on my Focal Clear with Schiit Lyr3 / Bifrost2.
however
summary: If you go here: https://www.apple.com/itunes/ you'll see a big "Get it from MICROSOFT" button which, as you've discovered, takes you to the Microsoft Store where the only available iTunes is an app that only works for Windows 10.
If you scroll down the page past the image of the laptop and below the line that says " Windows system requirements," you'll see a line that says, "Looking for other versions? macOS > Windows >"
Click on the "Windows" link there and you'll get to a page with downloads for old Windows
(currently still supports 7 & 8)
I doubt they will be in a hurry to do it, Apple already has an extremely developed process for bringing music to 256kbps AAC and it sounds transparent to most of us.
I am not telling to make them incredibly hard to unlock. I am just telling, event is designed to get money and daffy is a carrot for players.
Only thing here friendly is given daffy easily. Apart from that, rest of the event is not FTP friendly, neither friendly.

If you need a FTP friendly event example, check Pokemon Go. They are still in top grossing game. They don't force anyone to buy anything for any event. If you want it, you buy it. If you don't want to spend real money, fine, play around 15 days like 5 minutes each day, you will have enough in game coins to buy anything you want for upcoming event. They do generally once a month event. And they have much more characters to put in the game than Looney tunes but they put like groups of it.

Do you want to check other FTP play, I will give you 2 other Scopely game example, Yahtzee and Star Trek Fleet Command (Actually, they bought the company who made this game) but both those are still in top 100 Grossing games and still they don't force to get milestones.

ok, you will need a computer to fo this:
Thats it, that will bring you to 11.3.1 You can also afterwards install the tvos profile to keep it from updating to 11.4 :)
> So I can watch iTunes movies on my windows laptop? I didnt know that.
Yes. You can get iTunes for Windows, for quite a while now (14 years). I think it's even in the Windows store now. https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
>it seems like the only feasible solution for me,
Or you could try iTunes.
>Yes I DIDNT ASK FOR IT
My point was that I was providing an option and your conclusion was "I probanly need to build a strong pc". Usually when people ask for options, and you suggest buying a new device, they get mad because they don't want to buy anything.
I'm suggesting something free and your response is buying a new device...
I'm in the US and it's showing up at #8 overall for albums on Apple/iTunes for me.
https://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/albums/
Edit: Perhaps the ranking is global if you are not signed in or you do not have your location services enabled?
According to Apple, the ideal format for submissions to iTunes is 24-bit/96kHz or whatever the native bit depth/sample rate is for the project (i.e. don't upsample to 24/96 if you recorded at a lower bit depth and/or sample rate).
There is lots of into here.
Edit: If you're going through Tunecore/CDBaby/etc. they will have their own instructions regarding format, bit depth, and sample rate.
I wanted to do a Patreon but never did — I was concerned that having a crowdfunding campaign that earned only $8/month would 1) look bad and 2) not be worth the additional work.
Whenever I linked to my own podcast in the iTunes Store, I used an affiliate link. That made me a few dollars, but not many.
I didn't include any promotions or sponsorships in the audio of the podcast itself. Audible has a pretty accessible affiliate program that I should've explored, but I'm otherwise uncomfortable advertising products that I myself don't use (i.e., I wouldn't read an on-air ad for Squarespace when I think WordPress is superior).
However, for those who have an audience to capitalize on, there is a lot of money to be made from podcasting. I was a guest on a podcast on that topic just last week.
Something seems weird about having to extract it at all. It comes as a .exe, so isn't in a container at all. Win rar isn't necessary.
If you want, try this:
Download revo Uninstaller pro trial, and use that to completely remove any trace of iTunes. https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Download iTunes and install it. https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
I can't imagine where you got an alleged iTunes installer that was zipped. Hopefully you didn't download a virus.
You can upgrade all the way up to El Capitan (Yosemite if it's a 13" early 2009). The latest version of iTunes for MacOS requires:
https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ OS X version 10.9.5 or later (Mavericks is 10.9)
According to Wikipedia, it's "synthpop", "dance-pop" and "electropop", not sure why though.
I label all my music following iTunes' genres: "Pop", "Hip-Hop/Rap", "R&B/Soul"...
You don't. There is no uploading of files to iTunes. If you are saying you want to replace the media file with a new one, you do that at your media host or web site and update your RSS feed if necessary. If the RSS feed was wrong, you need to be able to do a 301 or 302 redirect at the host for the feed to redirect to the new feed and iTunes will update is a few days at worst. If you want to scrap the existing feed and recreate it, take a look at the Podcasts specs here.
https://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html
They explain what you can and can't do.
!
To be clear, the spec is now 1400x1400 minimum to 3000x3000 pixels maximum, changing the spec for the maximum pixels allowed from 2048x2048. The post used a word with the reverse meaning in one location potentially confusing people who failed to read the following sentence or the other two locations that contain the correct and expanded specification. The Apple canonical spec is located here:
https://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html

No, bundle IDs are public and they are often used to uniquely identify an application.
For instance, if you use the App Store's search API to look for Angry Birds apps, you'll see that Angry Birds has a bundle ID of com.clickgamer.AngryBirds
(Clickgamer were the original publishers of Angry Birds).
I don't know why you think it could affect usability – what do you think would happen?
> This is not a public RSS feed.
I agree and disagree. While it is not public, it is part of the Affiliate Resources which can be joined here.
> and is actually one of the rejection guidelines for App Store apps
This I do agree with. Any app using these resources will be rejected from any of the Apple stores.
Looks like 24 bit/48 kHz. I found this cool article on Apple’s site which has links for instructions and some tools to master in their format. Hope it helps! Apple Lossless Mastering
I think for the right kind of Artist,. it's probably awesome,. I just wonder if the niche-nature of it will doom it to obscurity. Although Apple is embracing it for FaceTime and other features of iOS and macOS,. so who knows.
If musicians and other artists are doing their "due diligence" and uploading high quality master-tracks to begin (as suggested here: https://www.apple.com/itunes/docs/apple-digital-masters.pdf).. then I think it'll become established but who knows.
Yes if the song in the iTunes Store has the digital masters badge then the song in Apple Music will be the digital mastered version via their codec (if you have higher quality streaming turned on).
You wanna say if it doesn't follow their rules (1).
Besides that it is useless to put that on the cover u/jdummies
Maybe it makes sense for an exclusive podcast 🤔
.
You don't need another Apple device, you can use a Windows computer & download iTunes to restore the iPad: https://www.apple.com/itunes/
You can also try logging into iCloud.com with the Apple ID and password to erase the iPad there. This method isn't guaranteed to work though.
Music doesn't need to be "purchased" for iTunes to let you sync it over. I would personally probably use one of the other 3rd party iDevice syncing softwares.
If you're downloading it on the phone itself, I'm not sure though.
Unfortunately, no. Both Spotify and iTunes use a lossy codec between what you submit and what is streamed or downloaded (AAC for iTunes, MP3 for Spotify). If the master that was submitted is -14lufs, then it ~should~ be the same whether streamed or downloaded, however, due to the conversion process post submission to Distrokid or your distributor, there can be variances in loudness due to only being able to download a lossy file and not the original WAV (I.e. inter-sample peaking). You can test how your song would sound through Apples Conversion and MP3 conversion by using AU Lab and comparing your WAV to the converted file that would used for streaming/downloading. https://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/ Side note: This was part of what made “Mastered for iTunes” cool in my opinion, because engineers would (should) take the lossy codec into consideration before streaming/downloading.
You can redownload iTunes, and I'm sure Photos is out there somewhere as well.
Unless your friend did anything unordinary to the El Capitan, it's not hacked per se, only a slightly tweaked to boot. It should be completely genuine and full macOS, just a little outdated. To be sure, the best course of action would of course be to perform a clean install, but if you lack a native GPU (can't see the boot screen), that might be not be a worthwhile risk.
Regarding wifi, that depends. Are you sure you have an Airport card? They can be valuable, and didn't come in stock configuration. If you're talking about anything else, Macs require drivers the same as PCs. I haven't had any luck with my USB wifi-dongles (Buffalo and TP-Link), but compatible PCIe cards tend to be very affordable. To clarify, there's no inherent reason why wifi wouldn't work with El Capitan, you just need the right, working hardware.
Be extremely careful when installing updates from the Appstore. The Security update 2018-004 and anything newer is bound to break your OS and leave the system in a boot loop. Once you get things properly up and running, my recommendation is to have an older macOS as a backup, they are handy for fixing various issues, and seem to be the easiest way to successfully update the firmware.
Early 2008 aka 3,1 can use the same RAM and GPU as 1,1. Just be sure to consult the instructions when installing the RAM, incorrect configuration will result in unnecessary issues. The best and likely cheapest upgrade you can do right now for the benefit of both of your system would be to get a native GPU. Just pick whatever you can find for the cheapest, that Radeon should be more than powerful enough for anything you'd want to do on those machines.

Radio isn’t really in touch with culture though. Who is topping streaming charts, who is getting plays on Spotify and Apple Music. It’s not Maroon 5, they are grocery store music.
https://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/songs/
They are only there on a song they are featured on “Girls Like You.”
More people are streaming music than listening to the radio.
That is the Apple Store affiliate program - for Apple hardware sold through the Apple website.
The iTunes Affiliate program is a different program for iTunes content. Music, movies, TV, books, and until October, apps.
It's probably distorting from inter-sample peaks.
I find afclip works great for detecting clipping if you're going to any compressed format. It's included in the apple tools linked below.
I don't think people give enough credit to SNAP. It is still #1 app on itunes app store and #3 on Android's app store. It is targeted to young people and it is beating Facebook/Instagram among those people. They are doing lot of creative things with voice/chat/location/AI(?) etc.
Sure it is overvalued and burns cash like a hooker but that's what most of the early stage tech companies do. I think sooner or later it gets bought out.
No problem!
Go to Apple's website to download iTunes (https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/). Once that is installed, open it up and get through any welcome screens you encounter. You don't have to worry about any set up since you aren't going to use it for music or anything.
On your iPhone, go into your iCloud settings and make sure Find My iPhone is turned off. Connect the iPhone to the computer. After a brief delay, iTunes should show your iPhone in the left hand panel, and there will be a button with an iPhone icon on it in the top left area of the window. Click it to go to the device management page.
(It's possible iTunes may automatically go to the device management page, I'm not sure why it sometimes does and sometimes doesn't)
You should see a button marked "Restore" on the right hand side of the device management page. You want to click that. It will completely erase the device, bringing you back to the "Hello" screen.
If you wish, you can click the "Make a back up" button in the bottom right corner of the screen before you perform the restore, however it sounds like you already have an iCloud backup.
Once you are at the Hello screen, you can go ahead and set up the iPhone as you usually would. This should resolve the storage issues you have been experiencing!
The best resource if you have trouble during this process will be an online chat, or call with apple (https://getsupport.apple.com).
I hope this helps!
There are a couple of ways that you could go about this:
So iCloud is not going to backup your files automatically; you're going to need to get some Drive space if the free 5GB isn't enough for your stuff and manually move the data to your iCloud folders. 200GB of iCloud Drive storage I believe is $2.99 per month, and there are bigger tiers from there. You don't have to use iCloud either; Dropbox or Google Drive would work for this as well.
What I did/do is use iTunes Match for my old music files; Apple will scan your music files and either substitute them with iTunes versions or upload music there is no match for, and you will have your music available in the cloud. This option is around $25 per year. You can download your music again later if you wish or (as I do) keep it in the cloud and just stream it like you do any other music service.
No worries, we are here to help! You can info here https://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/. Long story short, you pay a yearly subscription of 25$ and all your music is stored in the cloud, accessible from all your devices in direct streaming. Let me know if you need more info!
From this page... https://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/
Does iTunes Match stream or download songs? On a computer, any songs stored in iCloud will stream over the air when played, though you can download them at any time by clicking the iCloud download button. iOS devices will start playing tracks from iCloud as they download and will store them so that you can listen to them later even if you don’t have a network connection. Apple TV only streams songs.
If we consider what John Carmack said that already now among the early adopters gaming is just 50% of the usage time when suing an GearVR.
IF VR should go broad mainstream 100m+ user, games wont be the killer app.
We can try to draw some comparisons with the mobile App market https://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/free-apps/ The Android top20 looks very similar.
6 of the Top 10 apps are directly related to social media.
The fact that Facebook of all places bought Oculus also suggests that Zuckerberg deeply believe that some form of VR social Media will be the KillerApp for VR.
A Skype for VR will certainly be a big success if they can track your eye position, body, hand gestures etc. and all communicate it to the other person the experience to talk with someone over VR Skype will be far superior that Video conferencing today.
A general mistake that people make with the arrival of a new technology is that they try to make things happen on them that were awesome on the predecessor.
For example it took really long until people started to use the interactive capabilities of the Internet, first everyone wanted to make the newspaper digital or TV digital, because those were the terms that people were thinking in.
So I wonder what blindspots we have right now that we don't realise, and that we just try to make old genres fit into this new platform.
You can't sync iTunes across computers - you never could and it makes no sense. iTunes is a link between mobile iOS devices and your library on iTunes.
If you want your iTunes library to be available on all your devices (iOS and iTunes) then you need to purchase iTunes Match. It's only $25 per year which is very reasonable.
Once you have your library in iTunes Match you can stream (and/or download) any item in your library. iTunes Match automatically matches your music files and either a) finds a matching song in the Apple library and gives you the 256AAC version (matching) or b) uploads your original music file to the iTunes Match cloud (uploads).
This is irrespective of the method you acquired the music used - ripped CD, downloads, iTunes purchase. The only limitation is that your iTunes Match account can only hold 25K non-iTunes music (i.e., music not purchased from iTunes Store).
So you get high quality music files (and legal ones to boot regardless of the original source) and full use of music on up to 10 devices logged in with your Apple ID. New music you add to your iTunes library is automatically matched and/or uploaded and instantly available on your other devices.
You shock is silly - that's how all the music services work. iTunes Match is one of the best deals out there to manage your music collection.
Postscript: It's also a simple matter to move the iTunes library from one computer to another - external drive or whatnot. iTunes music can be
Here's the Apple iTunes Match info page

Start there. Then Google "iTunes delivery spec". You will find several PDF documents that detail the whole process. Basically, once you are an approved provider you can deliver content straight to the store with a pretty simple command line app. Apple will QC it to ensure it looks good. Getting approval will also give you access to the portal where documentation lives.
The biggest problem is when you have content that has problems. Bad compression, shooting in multiple fps, artifacts, old footage, and bad captioning to name a few. This is where you end up paying for the remaster and delivery.
The usual answer is install the PowerPress plugin from Blubrry with a free stats account and it will manage the podcast RRS feed for you, separate from the primary WordPress feed.
http://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/
Then submit your RSS feed to iTunes following their rules.

i think apple explains it well here:

EDIT: meant this link, the other on is useful too.. https://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html
I am not quite sure what you're asking, but "sound output over ethernet", as data:
Use SoundFlower to capture your audio output as an audio input.
Open AU Lab, use SoundFlower as your input to create a new document. In the Effects on the Output, select AU Net Send
On the other computer, install AU lab, on the input effects, put in AU Net Receive.
It's been a few years since I've done it. Some people say they have Yosemite problems, and it drifts out of sync over time over wifi (so you have to disconnect / reconnect). I'm sure I'm missing details and I didn't run through to completion. But hopefully that gives you enough of a framework and enough keywords to google the rest out.
I expect SoundFlower will allow you to pipe your audio out to both the other audio device and the computer connected via ethernet.
First, convert that .WAV file to mp3! :)
Second, this link might be helpful:

I used Libsyn as the host for my podcast. Not sure if there are better or cheaper options out there these days.
I'm just starting to try and do this exact same thing, and from what I've found there is no 100% solution.
The best I've come across is the iTunes affiliate program: https://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/, which lets you create links with arbitrary campaign tags. So I have a link from my website to the store marked as coming from my website, same for blog, same for twitter, same for ads, etc.
Then, the affiliate sales tell me how much $$ came in through each of those links.
However! Affiliate links track any purchase in the iTunes store, so if the customers goes to the store through your link and buys music instead, there's no way to tell the difference. You can only get vague patterns but not specifics.
From what I can tell, there's no way to determine who/why/if people are finding your app through search besides tweaking keywords/etc and watching sales change each release, and iterating.
If anyone has more concrete info, I'm all ears. I'm really itching for some better tracking as well.
I have been using iTunes Match for a few years and absolutely freaking love it. 99% (even some obscure stuff I never thought iTunes would have) of my music, far too much to fit on any handheld in existence is still available to me on my all of my devices, all the time.
Even the songs I didn't purchase in iTunes. They merely have to exist in iTunes on one of your machine. It doesn't matter where it came from. CDs... wherever.
Not bad.
I did this a couple years ago so I'm not sure how much it's changed. It wasn't exactly simple, but Apple's site had some pretty good info on it.
Just look at the top downloads on iTunes if it's mainstream that you want to backstroke in.
For the hipster runoff that pretends its not connected to the mainstream, check out Pitchfork's best new tracks.
iTunes Match will allow you to sync 25,000 songs, but it's a subscription service.

For photos it seems like the solution is coming with iCloud Photo Library in Yosemite/iOS 8

Yes it is. How are you creating your RSS feed? I believe iTunes will recognize 3 categories within your feed.
I suppose the popular answer is SoundCloud. I haven't used it myself, I use Libsyn. Once you have a place that's hosting your podcast follow these instructions to get it on itunes.
Windows 10 can't run the 64 bit version of iTunes. Have you tried the 32 bit version? https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win32
If altstore doesn't work with the 32 bit version of itunes, you will need to upgrade to Windows 11.
There are alternative programs, many of them being Linux only, but if you are having trouble with iTunes then make sure to download the version from the Apple website and not the Microsoft store. Here's a direct link: https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win64
An IPA file is what you use to install an app on your iOS 7 device. To install the IPA file to your iOS 7 device, you need a Windows or macOS computer. If you're using Windows, you will need to install iTunes if you haven't already, as it comes with components that are necessary to detect iOS devices. Then you will need to download and install a program such as Sideloadly to your computer. Sideloadly is a program that allows you to sideload apps to non-jailbroken or jailbroken devices via USB or over a Wi-Fi connection. You can watch a YouTube video tutorial for visual aid.
Here are some other things to consider before sideloading apps.
The developers of Sideloadly recommend creating or using a disposable Apple account for sideloading apps.
"iOS 7, 8, 9: You can sideload as many apps as you like on your device. However [sic] your free developer account has limitations [sic] but you can easily bypass those limitations by creating a new Apple ID."
With a free Apple Developer account, you can only sideload ten different apps per week. You can bypass this limit by using a different Apple Developer account or a paid Apple Developer account.
Once you've cracked the app you want unsigned, you would delete the signed app from your device and install the cracked and or unsigned IPA by using iFile if you're on iOS 6, Filza if you're on iOS 7-9, or Sideloadly on a Mac or Windows computer if neither of those work. (If you're on Windows, Sideloadly depends on components installed with iTunes.)
You can always plug it in using USB. Make sure you have these things: - Updated AltServer - The Windows version of iTunes. Not from the windows store. iTunes has to be from Apple's website: https://www.apple.com/itunes/
For me when AltServer/AltStore doesn't work, I make sure I open iTunes, make sure the device is showing up, make sure WiFi-Sync is enabled and make sure AltServer is open. Usually, with all of these things, my device shows up just fine.
Good luck!
I do not own a Mac and want to backup my iPhone to my PC. I understand that I need to download iTunes to do this, but when I go to download it
https://www.apple.com/itunes/ > Get it From Microsoft
it says "iTunes is currently not available". So how the heck can I download iTunes to backup my phone??
The buttons you are pressing cause a forced restart/hard reset not a factory reset, which usually erases data on the phone. As others have suggested, you will need to connect the iPhone to a Mac or Windows PC that has iTunes installed (from the Microsoft Store or here) to determine your next steps. If you do not have access to a personal computer that you trust (I would not use the computer in a hotel’s business center) you may have to plan on going to an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider, though one of the latter may charge you a fee.
What OS are you running? Maybe you could try casting/AirPlay the entire screen. You could also watch it on iTunes or use the web player.
Apple also provides a badge that doesn't have the black background, or you can just use the icon.
Go download iTunes then sign into your account then follow these instructions and then get a new iPhone and use iTunes (or iCloud) to put your data on your new iPhone.
Apple Music is great across the board, in my opinion. Haven’t tried Qobuz, but they sound similar.
To quote Apple’s technical brief on digital mastering:
>It is our job to faithfully and accurately deliver this music to fans around the world exactly as you intend it to be heard.
That is, don’t **** it up. Lossy compression is a great tradeoff in many contexts, but even then the job of the streaming service is to preserve the essence of the music. In the case of lossless, even that isn’t a factor. Hardware, subjective music quality, none of that is the platform’s problem. That is the artist’s problem and your problem, and any platform pretending otherwise (including through the use of magical CSI-enhance crap) is wrong.
To quote the brief again, this time about volume levels:
>The effect of Sound Check, as well as other volume-controlling technologies, is that songs that have been mastered loud will be played back at a lower volume which can make tracks actually sound weaker.
>
>Because many such technologies are available to listeners, you should always mix and master your tracks in a way that captures your intended sound, regardless of playback volume.
It is not Apple’s job to make volume levels reasonable, except on your end at your discretion. If a studio engineer sucks at mastering, Apple will let you really experience every bad decision they made. (Looking at you, studios new to Dolby Atmos)
And if Apple does not have a decent-quality file available, they will never pretend they do. They will give you what they are given, and you can hardly ask for more than that.
There are some very lightweight audio mixing apps out that you could try:
Hosting AU: http://ju-x.com/hostingau.html
AU Lab: https://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/
I haven’t used these myself, so I can’t offer any setup advice. But I do know that they’re old enough to run easily on High Sierra.
>Apple digital masters
Wasn't sure what you were talking about. Technical details here: https://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/
I've grabbed a Dicks Pick and a Euro 72 show off iTunes because cheap - they sound great to me.
BTW, I usually prefer buying as opposed to leasing.
Apple Digital Masters is a set of guidelines for delivering music files to Apple. Here is the document that goes through the guidelines: https://www.apple.com/itunes/docs/apple-digital-masters.pdf
Note the last page of that document, the line in bold: “The deliverable for Apple Digital Masters is the original 24 bit PCM file.”
Apple has all of those digital master files as 24-bit uncompressed that they can re-encode as ALAC lossless files. When an album has a logo for both Apple Digital Master and Lossless, it means it’s used that original submission to make a lossless file.
Not a recording artist, but my understanding is that it's just the successor to "Mastered for iTunes." Now the master is converted into ALAC lossless files for distribution, in addition to AAC.
>Note: Apple Digital Masters replaces Mastered for iTunes as the name of the program to reflect the fact that these audio advantages are available to our entire music catalog across the Apple ecosystem, whether streamed or downloaded. All Mastered for iTunes releases are now badged as Apple Digital Masters and the Mastered for iTunes software tools are still usable for Apple Digital Masters creation.
and
>Addendum: Lossless Audio and Apple Digital Masters
Lossless Audio
Apple Music now offers subscribers lossless streaming and downloads using the Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC.) There is no need to send two masters—the same Apple Digital Master is used for the ALAC encodes as for the AAC encodes.
You have 2 seperate questions here, why is the download button grayed out and what are Apple Digital Masters. I don’t know the answer to the first but the answer to the second is that Apple has designed a series of workflows, protocols, tools and technologies for audio engineers to follow and use that will result in the highest possible sound quality through AAC, Apple’s lossy format. This is outlined in this document in which Apple says:
Following the guidelines and protocols outlined in this document to create and audition AAC encodes, you can achieve simply amazing results: dynamic range that’s superior to red book CD audio, and a final product that’s virtually indistinguishable from the original studio recording.
just the normal ~256kbps AAC, just Apple claims their encoder takes better advantage of 'high resolution masters' specially created for iTunes.
seems 'Apple Digital Master' is just what they call 'Mastered for iTunes' these days. i have a handful of such albums and didn't find it to be much better.
