I remember the old days of being the "cool guy" in middle school with the odd iPod. (JK, everyone thought I had an off-brand).
Good luck, man!
GNU-Darwin is only for x86 and PPC processors. There is no way it would run on an iOS device, unless you emulate it. But at that point, you might as well run some other Linux distribution.
Anyway, I don't think GNU-Darwin was ever available for download; at least, it isn't now. Maybe try Darling?
No, it's not. If you have a first generation iPod nano, the closest thing to that is Rockbox, a custom OS. Otherwise, there's no way to mod the stock OS that's on iPods that aren't the "touch" model, especially the ones from ~2006 and later.
You can use the iOS built in VPN client http://www.vpngate.net/en/ is free and run by volunteers one of the L2TP/IPsec servers should work.
Probably 3rd party apps for this too but i'm not familiar with any of them.
It's hard to tell which specific websites/services are affected but with more information here it's any device with iOS 9 and below are affected, unless Apple decides to push another update like the iOS 9.3.6 to fix GPS issue.
If you're on iOS 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, you can use Safari on the device to go to jailbreakme.com
and jailbreak that way.
If this doesn't work for whatever reason, you can try to use SpiritNET.
If you're on iOS 3.1 or 3.1.1, you can use blackra1n, however this requires you to use an older version of iTunes. (iTunes 10 may work)
If you're on iOS 3.0, you can use purplera1n, downloadable from the Legacy Archives linked in the subreddit sidebar. This also requires you to use an older version of iTunes.
Also, here is a link to iTunes 7.5 if you don't already have it. https://filehippo.com/download_itunes/download/17c7bcb3a01d240277f87642d207efc5/
With old versions itunes (v12.6.3) it is possible to download apps. After downloaded app from itunes it will be added to your account. Then you can download app from App Store. It will download lastest compatible version (ofc if app developer still keep it). You can read more about how get old version of itunes here.
Alternatively, with itunes v12.6.3 it is possible to download apps. After downloaded app from itunes it will be added to your account. Then you should be able to downgrade it. You can read more about it from here.
I don't think VLC was on the iPhone back in those days. I seem to remember their first app coming about in the iOS 5/6 days..? Not sure.
Just googled... https://thenextweb.com/apps/2013/07/18/vlc-for-ios-will-return-to-the-app-store-on-july-19-full-re-write-open-source-licensed-under-mplv2-and-gplv2/ this was after it was originally pulled, but the version says iOS 5.1 required. You might be chasing dragons...
Not OP, but he’s using twomon usb.
AppStore link here, it says that it requires iOS 8, but there is an old version that supports iOS 5
Good luck. I had used this guide, by the way, and downloaded this version of iTunes. As it turns out, I had used 11.4 instead of 11.1.5, so if that doesn't work for you, just install the version of iTunes I linked over the old version. You won't have to uninstall anything.
This method isn’t on-device but it should work (you need a Mac for this):
1) Install “AppSync for iOS 4.0” from this repo.
2) Install homebrew from here.
3) Type brew install ideviceinstaller
in the terminal.
4) Download the IPA to your Mac. Open a terminal, type ideviceinstaller -i
and then drag the IPA file into the terminal window. The app should install on your iPod.
Once you've cracked the app you want unsigned, you would delete the signed app from your device and install the cracked and or unsigned IPA by using iFile if you're on iOS 6, Filza if you're on iOS 7-9, or Sideloadly on a Mac or Windows computer if neither of those work. (If you're on Windows, Sideloadly depends on components installed with iTunes.)
thanks for the nightmares, and buy this kit for the sake of my sanity. BUY THIS
To make a WinToUSB drive, you’ll need a 32 GB flash drive, and a Windows 7 ISO. You can download rufus from https://rufus.ie, and from there you select the drive, the Windows 7 ISO, and then click on the Drop down menu where it says “Standard Windows Installation”, and select Windows To Go. It should give you a live Windows 7 environment.
It's a pretty neat video transcoder. LINK
I've used it in the past when smartphones weren't as powerful as they are now.
I believe it's because mp4 files are natively supported while mkv containers are not and VLC might only be able to use software decoding instead of hardware decoding hence the lag.
Alternatively you can try this: mkv2mp4
There's also AVPlayerHD on AppCake, it might work better than VLC.
I installed GBA4iOS in iOS 7.1.1 (iPhone 4)\ First of all (obviously), a jailbroken iDevice with AppSync.\ Go to: http://www.gba4iosapp.com/download\ Then, following the page steps install the version you want (i use the older one).\ It will say: https://www.gba4iosapp.com wants to install GBA4iOS.\ Click accept, you will be in home screen after a while, and the app will be installing\ Wait until it installs.\ Ready.\ If you want games use a rom page or use your own backups.\ Install the rom from your preferred method, a Safari tab will be opened, the tab will say: Open with: (GBA4iOS) the rom will be loaded :), now if you close the emulator the game rom will be saved and you can load it any time you want to play :)
No, 3.1.2 is perfect. Download blackra1n and select your OS (the Windows 7 icon or the logo) and run it. Connect your device and click “make it ra1n”. Your device will enter recovery mode and awkwardly show geohot’s face. Then you should be jailbroken and activated. You can now open the blackra1n app and install Cydia or delete blackra1n (this only deletes the blackra1n app) and you are in! Good luck!
if you have run in errors or crashes you need to download altserver 1.2.1 Beta It works only on Windows 10 and macOS (with a different way idk)
Link altserver 1.2.1 Beta 2 [UPDATED]: https://altstore.io/ altserver/beta/ I! You need to download the 1.2.1 Beta 2 !!!
Bruh.

DISCLAIMER: i-Funbox involve the official app installation API on iDevice. All installed Apps work only within their own sandbox, which is safe and quarantined from the iOS kernel. To install unsigned/unofficial/modified ipa package, install AppSync from Cydia first. However, we presume those apps are legitimately purchased by yourself, or developed by you.
Please appreciate developer's efforts, stop installing cracked apps.
You can use iFunbox:
http://www.i-funbox.com/en/index.html
and select the 'classic' version.
You may have to install also iTunes, for drivers support. If so, try to install a old version up to 11.0.5.
This will give you access to photo, video and music for sure; other data may or may not be available depending of iOS version. Also, for full access to the filesystem is required to have installed the tweak Apple File Conduit 2.
Hope this helps.
You could try something like iFunBox and see if you can access the iPod like that. If you can, you could install OpenSSH by downloading the .deb and following the instructions on the website. After that you could attempt to remove the passcode. Unfortunately, the subreddit rules do not permit me to post instructions for that part.
The repo where it was hosted is shut down now.

Open terminal, install homebrew (https://brew.sh)
Then do “brew install libusb” “brew install libusb-compat” and “brew install libusbmuxd”
After that I gotta get you a file from my PC. Give me a few minutes.
your hosts file is located in /etc/ named "hosts".
you need to add these lines to your hosts file, you could probably use iFile for that.
find the lines here: https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts/blob/master/data/SpotifyAds/hosts
Let me now if it worked.
I tried uploading a few (decrypted) IPAs, but it won’t work. It’s the same error message every time (“There was a problem uploading your file”).
I put the IPAs in this folder instead. Can you upload them for me? They are:
iBooks 3.1.3: latest version to be compatible with iOS 6, runs on iOS 5.0 and higher
iMovie 142: runs on iOS 6.0 and higher (latest compatible, you currently have 131)
Google Maps 4.3.51252: iOS 6.0 and higher
iPhoto 1.1.1: iOS 6.0 and higher
OneNote 2.1.5: iOS 6.0 and higher
Spotify 0.4.24: iOS 4.0 and higher (latest version compatible with iOS 4, it runs and works on iOS 6.1.4)
Spotify 1.8.1: iOS 6.0 and higher
Atomic Web 7.0.1: iOS 4.3 and higher (presumably the latest version, I no longer find it in the App Store; can confirm that it works all the way up to iOS 9 and 10)
Flappy Bird: 1.0.0, 1.1.0, 1.2.0 (all require iOS 6.0; the older versions are desired for their graphics)
GarageBand 1.4.1: iOS 5.1 and higher (latest version compatible with iOS 6)
I modified a couple of references in the file and bundled libzip.so.4 and libimobiledevice.so.6: https://files.fm/u/xkw5p4dn . It seems to work, just ensure that you have all the dependencies for libimobiledevice by trying to compile it:
git clone https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libimobiledevice.git cd libimobiledevice ./autogen.sh make sudo make install
If you’re missing any packages (any errors you get will show up when running ./autogen.sh
or make
), just sudo apt-get install
them until the errors go away.

Sorry but I’m stuck in China rn and it was working when my VPN was working (all manual configuration servers are down for ExpressVPN). Try reinstalling the app, cuz the first time I installed it didn’t load the gifs.
It's an app where you have to connect multiple points, "without taking the pencil off the paper", to create certain shapes and things.
I couldn't find any gameplay, sorry. But the Amazon page of the app might help a bit too.
Hi, depends on what you mean by partially deaf. If you mean you hear in both ears but not so clearly I can recommend the Boomstick.
PS: I am single-sided deaf - normal hearing in one ear and deaf in the other.
I did find a 3gs on Amazon for a minimum of $27 here although the seller rating isn't the greatest. Another for $39 has a 71% seller rating (60 reviews)
