That's exactly what prompted this hack. I like the vacuum, but hated its poor battery system.
I started by hollowing out the original battery pack plastic "skin". Then I used this battery holder, had to replace the internal momentary switch with something like this. I was able to reuse the actual trigger once I positioned my microswitch lever in the correct spot it reliably pushed the switch closed. I did add a spring to the trigger to give it better feel. Little bit of soldering and epoxy and it was all done.
Once you ditch the battery charging / cells / and original momentary switch it's really just two wires with a switch between. Getting it to fit was the trick, Dremel out plastic as needed, used superglue to hold things when I knew I had the location correct.

It's one of those shit "review" websites where they more or less blackmail you into paying them to paint your company in a good light.
https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/trustpilot.com
I know it's a bit ironic to post a review site that reviews review sites, but there's quite a few sites that all mention the same things, that bad reviews are removed from companies that pay, and will retain bad reviews for companies that don't pay (and hell, whos to say they dont remove the good ones instead).
Milwaukee's marketing department must clearly recognize that it would be stupid to buy into that shit, and they can carry themselves without paying for reviews.
So far we have "It's red" and "You can stack them"
Packouts are very expensive megablocks so far. Or perhaps apples
Honestly, I think contractors like being able to stack, connect, and store tools all in one 'system' Opening one of hose containers with the right adapters/organisers is like a programmers opening his laptop - everything you need is where you want it.

Oh, you're looking for fuel. Nvm.
I cannot tell the difference but it can’t be, right? It says it was used, but came brand new in a bag with manual. To clarify, it’s the drill / hammer combo. For $50 and a few months of beating the tar out of it, I got my moneys worth. Link below. Scroll down and click used - like new
I put one in a surebonder (glue gun) Ryobi to M18 adapter. Works pretty good for loads under 20 amps. I also posted a link to the YouTube video where I learned how to do it.

I just use this. It doesn’t attach to packout boxes, but it’s super easy to carry. I just leave my batteries attached.

Thanks! It’s been a good little tractor since he got it in 1985? I upgraded it to LED headlights for him a couple years ago haha. If you have one, they fit perfectly in the factory holes and are a total game changer!
I use something like this - definitely was cheaper when I bought it. But it works for along time. However it is rather large.

Yes I know it can happen, It can also happen with a brand new $1k+ cell phone. I don't mind buying the higher capacity M12 batteries from Milwaukee, but when I need a new lightweight basic M12 3 cell battery I wont pay $68 for 1 battery. The only thing that a M12 has is a thermistor, the actual battery protections are in the tool/charger itself not the battery like the M18. I can almost buy 6 batteries for what 1 OEM battery thats not onsale.
I hooked up one of these to a battery attachment: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07929Y5SZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Pick one of these up. Fits pretty nicely and lasts forever between charges compared to the m12 batteries (the ones that fit nicely in the jacket anyway). It’s not the best for sitting with it in the jacket, but now the worst either.

You can pretty much just pick any another snap action thermal protector with similar specs and it'll work fine. You need a general idea of the thermal rating and you need to know if it's normally-open or normally-closed.

If you’re only using it to solder wires, have you considered using solder seal butt connectors like these? You just heat them up, I use my M18 heat gun to do it - works great and normally way easier than soldering wires together. My friend who used to work in automotive introduced me to them.

I'm kinda new myself; I have mostly DeWalt power tools but the Packout stuff is just too good to deny. Plenty of those Ryobi mongrels would love to have it tho so be sure to lock everything down as best you can. Also, mark your stuff in some obvious way that is hard/ impossible to remove so its easier to spot &/or describe in a pawn shop.
Harbor Freight set is good, but both the 3 piece and 7 piece impact adapter set has 3/4" adapters, which you may or may not need. I went with Lexivon on amazon, which has a lifetime warranty as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MR1SZFZ

Ditch the m12 battery and go with a TalentCell flat pack from Amazon. It’ll last longer and is compatible with the jackets. The flat battery pack also is more comfortable for working. Just plug the jacket straight to it without the m12 adapter. I went with this one.

These are the two products that I have purchased to power my Flasher (ice fishing fish finder), lights, and other random diy projects. There are many generic brands and better deals. For the buck converter, I like Drok and have use many of there’s products and never had an issue. Also check the amperage. Depending on what you are needing, make sure you purchase the one that is suitable for your needs.
For this usage and space I'd suggest a Flexzilla 1/4" x 25' hose (1/4" is lighter and more flexible than 3/8" hose but still robust and more than enough here), and put a swivel head on the end of the hose to make it easier to maneuver the stapler into different positions. For couplers you can jazz it up with Milton ColorFit 1/4 NPT M style (red).
Also a hook on the wall to wrap the hose if not doing a hose reel, and hook or something to hang the stapler on so it's always ready to go and has a dedicated spot.
Have fun!
This battery will work a lot better in the heated gear, last longer and isn’t as bulky feeling in the pocket.
I've been very happy with the purchase. This is a link to the better quality of the vests and the one I'm keeping. 3 zones: lower back, upper back and neck, front. I usually keep it on low or medium, but do suggest getting a bigger battery as the 10,000wh battery is only good for a few hours and best. Pocket for battery is poor design choice being front right pocket but that is a small price to pay for staying warm working outside in the snow on people's broken hot tubs.

You're answering your own question. I'm sure it'll work fine for around the house, just know that Project Farm reviewed a bunch of these right angle drivers and this one ranked pretty low.
Personally I'd recommend this for your stated purpose.
If you need a heavy-duty one or just prefer that form-factor, I recommend this one.
I have both; the DeWalt gets more use due to its small form factor and flexibility.

These are the two varieties of screws we can use. Both fit in a 1/4” hex driver. They are both ordered as 2”, #10 screws (one roofing, one “Amvic” (ICF system) - the preferred screw) from my local building supplier.
Would you like a video of them not fitting into my 5/16 and perfectly fitting into my 1/4” driver, and being successfully driven into a piece of wood? That can be accomplished in seconds.
I’m not wrong in what I’ve said, however you may be interpreting what I’ve said incorrectly.
Mine burnt out real quick. I went to a ts80/ts100 style and never looked back. I made a cable to use the with the m12 power supplyfor the heated jackets. Works a lot better and a lot less bulk. Already had the power source.
Compact 3/8 on Amazon for 140 bare tool not nearly as good but still
If you want something with external charging and on the cheaper end I’d check out the Sofirn SP40. If you want to go all in, check out the Emisar DW4. All of Hanks lights are fantastic. Pick your preferred color and backlight color and I’d recommend the 519A 5700k dedomed leds. There is also a dual channel version that would allow you to have two different leds in the light. A lot of people also purchase the Skilhunt HB3 headband instead of the one that you can purchase with it. If you purchase anything from Hank, you’ll also need to purchase the batteries separate and have an external charger.
That's the link I spoke of.. I'm located in Canada so you may need search around a bit for the equivalent that is available to you
My bad, just noticed this now.
Here's a link.
You can charge it off any standard 12vdc barrel plug connector. If you have a box of power supplies, you almost certainly have a 12vdc one. Just make sure it has between 2-3aml output otherwise it will take an entire night to charge if less than 2amp.
Let me know if you have any questions. The M12 jacket can plug directly into this back, and it fits perfectly into the back battery pouch, and allows you to lean back and not have it stuffed up into your back as well.
Cheers!

I will say that Bosch makes the best metal cutting blades I have used. They cut stainless siding nails like butter.
Got a Talentcell 12v battery on Amazon for about $60CAD. Runs for around 5-6 hours with both heat zones on the Toughshell on high. Fits quite nicely in the jacket's battery pocket as well.

I’m no electrician but I do a lot of diy electrical work and these Irwin grip strippers are my favorite BY FAR. So easy to use and perfect every time without worrying about damage to wire core
There are many similar looking and probably all made in the same place with different labels, regardless, I bet they are all the same. I got this one as it had a higher wattage, but who knows if that is accurate.
Its bright, and so far I’m pretty impressed for the $.
Not defending their tape, but I've been using one of these magnetic tape holders (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FRBVMKY?ref\_=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_ud\_dp\_ATK4DG0VQSGKZC2CEK4M) for years, you can find them in some tool shops rather than amazon too. Super convenient, and keeps your pocket from getting shredded. It holds pretty firmly, you can't really pull it straight off, you have to do a kinda push/twist to get it off. If you're in a trade where you use your tape regularly, you'll love it for sure.

Sorry, comment got removed by the automod for using the wrong kinda amazon link I guess.
This is all you need. Will run a heated jacket for my 12 hour shifts.
I actually prefer these locking quick connectors but they require a 1/4 MIP to Shrader adapter as well.
I always post a link to this connector and someone always appreciates it. If you have the inflator, you will probably like this to go with it.
I used the jigsaw to open it up, m12 drill with a bit like this to clean out the inside, then the die grinder with a dremel bit to do all my carving. Made it super quick and easy!
I have the M12 3/8 stubby impact and it’s great. My go-to sockets for most stuff is the Astro Nano for a super compact setup: https://www.amazon.com/Astro-Pneumatic-Tool-78314-Profile/dp/B01JBK1FHG
I have a mid-torque 1/2” impact for wheels and such but the stubby can handle that, too (100ftlbs spec on my wheels). I’ve used these little adapters to use the 3/8” stubby with my 1/2” deep wall sockets: https://www.amazon.com/Titan-30936-3-Piece-Profile-Adapter/dp/B01ENX11B6/
i'm gonna tried a front mounting plate with stealth mounting bracket on the wall.
These batteries work a treat for the jacket. One will last me a 12 hour shift on low/medium. Also not as bulky as the Milwaukee battery and adapter.

When I said “mini Systainer” I literally meant that official size :)
There are only two sizes within the mini Systainer line. The small one doesn’t fit the Bosch. The taller one is somewhat taller than needed. I’m planning on making an internal platform with foam. For now I have a small parts bin full of screws and other things underneath.
I have a small one with two multimeters and and other small one with various hand tools like hand screwdrivers and digital caliper etc. (The Bosch is so good at low speed control that I only use the hand tools when the Bosch isn’t handy…)

I would say maybe buy a 2 pack first and see how they work out for you. I have heard very good things about these : https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Compatible-48-11-2401-48-11-2420-48-11-2411/dp/B07S6G736H/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=A2ER9P2PH6L9&keywords=m12+cp+3.0&qid=1665225340&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjc1IiwicXNhIjoiMi41MiIsInFzcCI6IjIuMDAifQ%3D%3D&s... and they work out to a little less than half the price of the ones you posted. Check the reviews. I don't own any aftermarket batteries, I already have like 7 m12 batteries that came with various tools (mostly 2.0's) but will consider these when mine start dying
Found this reddit via Google search. Why not use an adapter for the battery and then you could just spray paint the Ryobi water pump black/red: https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Adapter-Milwaukee-Convert-ABP1801/dp/B08ZT1GTLP - I know the pump is quite expensive but I have yet to find any other water pumps that actually mount to a 5 gallon bucket.

I had one and yeah it's good because of the batteries but the sound just isn't that great.
I ended up also getting this.
It's on my job site all the time. It's damn good sound and we best the hell out of it.
The electronic one is a failed piece of technology. It over torques and is incredibly inconsistent. If you dont hold the drill perfectly right even the lightest setting will run in a fastener or screw more than you want. It just cannot "release" power quickly enough.
It's still a great drill and I use it all the time and I'm a MKE fanboy, but I picked up the cheapest 20 dollar cordless drill from harbor freight and the clutch works PERFECT. Worked so well I bought a second one.
Plenty of people calling out the clutch on Amazon too: https://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-Electric-Tools-MLW2504-20-Hammer/dp/B001R5LY3O/
I went from the jacket and also have the hoodie. I use the hoodie more than the jacket as the jacket nylon exterior is a bit heavy and stiff. The hoodie is nice and you can get away with up to 25 ish weather on full as long as there is no gusty wind. If there is any wind the heat will be lost immediately. Also the jacket has a belly heater while the hoodie is just the chest and back.
Also the front light is annoying as people always ask, your jacket/hoodie is glowing and or envy as people who know always ask how it is.
You want to get the battery from amazon that is bigger but fits better than an m12 battery

I bought these recently with a plan to use the floor/wall plate https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-PACKOUT-Wall-and-Floor-Mounting-Plate-48-22-8485/310990289 and these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HPE18RC to mount it to my front rack. Unfortunately the mounting plate doesnt fit on the back rack.
Any adapter that you can find that outputs 18v 2.5amp with a 5.5mm positive center and negative outer will work. like this one
That's definitely a nice alternative. I don't love GearWrench for some reason, but the Amazon reviews (under the KD Tools listing) are extremely positive. If you can get them for $185, that's pretty compelling.
hah good eye!
I was actually in the same boat as you man!
I got my Lexivon set for $20, but even $30 retail is a hell of a deal.
The Wera are WAY nicer, but a complete set like with the Lexivon would have been 6x as much, so I just went with Lexivon. I've had no issues with them. They get abused plenty.
If Wera and Lexivon had a baby, they'd be These guys. You may like.
Downside to these is they can backout because they don't have a nut on them. This one is similar but has grip and nuts to hold it in place.
Yes, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HTZHFF6
Make sure you check your hose diameter. I also used Guerilla tape at each connection point, and it has worked great for 2 years. For longer needs, I string two hoses together and use an extension pole. Much easier than climbing a ladder or getting on the roof.
This post was stuck in spam filter, because the second link contains a referral/affiliate code. Which you prob didn't know or realize. But yeah, at some point you clicked someone's Amazon affiliate link, and everything you bought off Amazon sense has been giving them a cut. And every link you share contains their code, and will give future buyers a cut.
The affiliate part is tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0
The way to cut all that crap off Amazon links, including the trackers that follow exactly how you got to that link (creepy!), is find ref=
in the URL. Select that and everything after it. Delete it. Then copy/paste what's left. In your case, all you need is this for the link to work.
https://www.amazon.com/AutoCut-Trimmer-4002-710-2191-Stihl-FR106/dp/B08D7H5B7F
Crazy how much smaller that link is. And all that extra stuff? Affiliate/referral codes and trackers.
I have my most used bits on the outside of my toolbag on this keychain. The rest are in the bit organizer they all came in. All of my twist bits stay in their case.

I realize this is a Milwaukee sub and we'd all like to stay inside the same battery eco-system, but...
I have one of these these cheap generic Chinese mini chainsaws and it's fantastic. The one I have is a 20v and no longer available so that's a link to the closest I could find.
They chew through limbs like butter. They're lightweight and depending on the kit you choose, come with a hard shell carrying case, extra batteries and chains, and just a joy to use.
This is the one I bought. It fits but not very tightly and will fall out when bumped or if you drop the heat gun. This is good and bad, it works and doesn’t get damaged easily but if you knock it off while working make sure you don’t try and catch it or you’ll have an interestingly shaped burn on your hand.
There are 3D printed brackets and some for sale as well (some just 3D printed some injection molded I believe). Worst case you mount those to plywood/plastic sheeting and then mount that to your case.
Stealth mounts are one example. I haven't used them but I see them mentioned. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C2QPY2Y
If you have access to a 3D printer, check thingiverse.
huepar - amazon. Very cheap, and they work amazingly well.

The case on that one will fit an M12 power source so you can still use your red batteries.

I went with these, they can drop in price now and again. They wear out no matter what, cheap or expensive ones. You get more for your money with the likes of these.
also why is it trouble to find them dude its 2022 just google and open up your wallet?

I take a stupid amount of time to organize my bit boxes to perfection. In every box, I make room for 2 of these (above). They don't last the longest but for the cost, they're totally worth it. A little extra sloppy wobble never hurt...
This. The m12 cut of tool. Even cones with a fancy guard kinda like a skillsaw.

I just ordered some of these. The chests are pretty damn big & heavy when its full, so who knows how well they'll hold up. Worth a shot
The short answer is that it's not easy and it's expensive. You need a power supply that's at least 1000W and preferably more.
Hikoki (Metabo HPT) makes an adapter for their 36V tools and it costs about as much as 3 batteries (well, in Aus it does, but the US version is much cheaper, maybe because it's easier to step down from 110V vs 240V). Going to 36V is easier than 18V. https://www.acmetools.com/multivolt-36v-ac-dc-adapter-et36am/717709026940.html
Greenlee makes one that is compatible with Makita 18V but it is only suitable for low powered tools. https://www.amazon.com/Greenlee-EAC18120-120-Volt-Adapter-Cordless/dp/B004I0Q5PC

I got the ones in this second link, they work just fine but I will say they feel like they have a grit in them when you pull them out. Not really a big deal and I did try cleaning and oiling then but it seems to be a relatively closed system with no way to clean them good. Ordered 2 sets so my friend could do his packout also, all 4 pins feel the same. It's either blasting media or metal shavings if I had to guess.

That was my way of telling him I want him to tile our bathroom. I know he'll do it just so he can use his fancy new laser.
This is what I got him, it's actually $100 cheaper than last month when I ordered it
