Very basic starter role
His resume needs some work.
It's 2 pages long
It should follow this format. "Responsible for X, Accomplished Y." Y should be some number or something quantifiable
It should include a link to his Linkedin Page, which should have a customize link that looks professional, for example. https://www.linkedin.com/in/LYESILEVSKIY The linkedin page can be very large and include supporting documents from projects and other things like that.
I have a hand full of other thoughts, if you would like some help or mine to use as an example, PM and I'll be happy to give you a hand.
Would the hiring manager be interested in letting a trustworthy non-college technician help out and get experience?
While they are looking to hire someone on perm.
I am currently in-between jobs and a project would be awesome.
Took my CCNA class in 2014, saving money to test.

Hey /u/srade753! My name is Patrick. I'm the Community Manager for Planted. Feel free to verify here and here. :)
To answer your questions, it all depends on the urgency of the startups. We've placed candidates as quickly as 24 hours after they hit reply to 7 days to a few weeks. It all comes down to the current position that the hiring manager is in and if the startup is scaling quickly. We work with a over 400 high growth startups, but most lean more towards the couple week time frame for hiring.
Unfortunately, we currently don't have any internal openings, but if you want to hop on a quick call, I'd be more than happy to give you some tips to help you navigate the NYC startup space. Feel free to shoot me an email at patrick [at] planted [dot] com.
workforce one could probably hook you up, if you haven't tried them.

The entire company has always been 100% remote. I use their product all the time. It's the leader in the design world. I've used their competitors too, and their competitors are really lacking. It's a very solid company.
I am so excited that your company exists! I am extremely passionate about the tech industry but am not a programmer/engineer/etc.
I am submitting my application as we speak and I sincerely hope I will be able to work with you. In the mean time you (and others hiring) should feel free to check out my LinkedIn profile.
