It's well worth it, considering the price of the proprietary card. (almost $90 for 32 Gigabytes) Personally, I have a 256 gig card that costed me about $15 bucks. Unnecessary, yes. But it allows for a TON of emulated games as well. (which the vita is great at, when modded)
The only thing that is lost when using the adapter + micro SD instead of the proprietary card is the game card slot. So if you're a collector, or like to own games physically, this isn't a great option. But if you're anyone else, there is basically no reason not to. (unless you really have something against modding)
They are an OK brand. Hopefully they are sourced from a legit distributor because SD card counterfeits are way too common these days.

You will need a sd2vita and a Sony memory card for the psvita( if it’s a 1000 model). I’d recommend getting the 2000 model since it has 1gb internal storage. You could probably find a 2000 slim for around 150$. And u should be able to mod your psvita with a Mac.(This should help you get started. And it’s fairly easy to mod your psvita if you follow the guide

looks identical to mine, by Funturbo (Amazon CA), but quite a bit cheaper. Any name brand like Samsung or Sandisk mSD should be good, just make sure not to get one where the price seems too good to be true (like this one, I would NOT trust it)
Personally i have a lot of digitals. Eventually i would one ps1, psp and psv games on my psv. So that would probably be 256gb. Altho if it is just psv, maybe 128gb would be fine.
