Retractable baby gate. Put the main part on the wall, the part where it attaches to on the banister - seems the best way to do it. You wouldn't need to add anything to the wall (well maybe a small bit of wood if you're placing it so it sits flush with the last step), other than the gate, and since the material isn't stiff or metal it can allow some movement for placing. Here's a link so you know what I'm talking about. Retractable baby gate
My boyfriend and I use the Hatch Sound Machine for the baby. It has a few light colors and sound options. The app can set the time changes too, so a natural wake-up light can start when you set it. I am also excited because it will help when she is a toddler and when the light is red, you stay in your room and play if you wake up, and once it turns to white, you can come out. A little pricey, but it does grow well with your kid. I have had zero complaints in the past 8 months we have had it
I would talk to your pediatrician about some of his behaviour and try reading the book How to talk so little kids will listen. How to talk so little kids will listen.. The author's mother also wrote a book about siblings that I haven't read yet but will as it might help. siblings Both books talk about how timeouts and punishments don't work because it doesn't teach kids anything and just make them feel resentful. I have read both the first book and another book by the second author and what they say makes a lot of sense and they cite the science to back up their ideas.
For Pete's sake! I can't find the brand or the bottle at Walmart or Amazon! I hate searching on Amazon, keywords mean nothing! But here's a link to something extremely similar to what I'm referring to, for sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere, but apparently Walmart only has them now and then I guess. That's where I've bought them more than once but it's not showing up in the app, they're usually near the kids\babies utensils\plates\sippy cup section. But the other ones don't screw open or closed.

I use these… the compartments are removable so they could heat up just one part of it. It is kind of a pain to clean though!

If she starts getting these a lot, you can buy these eye patch heating pads that are easy to wear. Just warm them in the microwave, and then leave them on for 15 minutes. I have one that I use quite often for the same reason. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U7BPK8O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GW31CEF7W2F0FDS5V8Q1 Also have her eyes checked by an optometrist. She might have a condition where she has extra oily eyelids. Washing her eyelids in the shower or bath with no tears soap helps a lot.
If you want low tech, try baby monitors. We used this set with both our kids and used it as an intercom system for ages before I gave it to a friend who needed them. You just give the child the monitor for their room, and then there are 2 "parent" monitors with a talk back feature, so they work like a walkie-talkie, but they're on a different signal frequency than regular walkie talkies so you shouldn't have a problem with interference. Not unless your neighbors are closer than 1,000ft and have the same set.
ETA: if you're worried about privacy issues with the monitor being on constantly, you can turn the volume all the way down on the parent device, and just have your child hit the page button to get your attention when they need you.
Got them for my toddler son's, come in lots of prints. good for jumping in puddles with!
It’s for toddlers and has various levels of complexity it looks like… but not sure if it’s the right track as woodworking kit to me is more like this…
This is along the lines, but there are other options as well:https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Bench-Double-Sided-Infant-Toddler/dp/B07WZQGB76/ref=sr_1_2?crid=21E24F63XJYBV&keywords=fisher+price+workbench&qid=1669753741&sprefix=Fisher+price+wo%2Caps%2C99&sr=8-2
When you search, look for Fisher Price.
You can get a cheap electronic drawer/cabinet lock that uses your fingerprint, a key card, or a passcode. They cost around $15-$30 depending on the type.
Device recommendation:
Door Monkey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ECJWK4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_C036MFRDBQEM5P5DXRPG
Or a baby gate in the doorway.
You don't need the approval of strangers but I support you keeping your kid safe. A kid roaming the house in the middle of the night us dangerous enough. Add the bath thing OR the allergies is super scary. All 3? Door Monkey here we come.
Mother of a 3 yr old here! I get up with her. If I don't she goes downstairs and does whatever she wants. It works best for us if I just get up with her if it's between 4-6am. If she gets up in the middle of the night to go potty, I get up with her and take her back to bed and tell her to get up when the sun comes up. As for a fridge lock, look up fridge locks on Amazon, they sell them and they also sell them at Wall-Mart and Target of you're in the US. I wouldn't try to lock your kiddo in his room, but maybe get one of those nightlights that turn green when they're allowed out of their room, they stay red till a preset time, like a toddler alarm clock if you will. Amazon has those too.

Good luck to you!
Being a parent can be a tough job some days. I'm sure your son will grow to realize he's lucky to have a parent who cares a lot for him.
I am curious to know your opinion on coloring activities. Are they helpful in calming kids down?
I would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to help me in having a 15 minute conversation about coloring activities for a new venture I am working on.
My kiddo had the same issue! Then we got a tummy time pillow and she love it.

Go a step further and give her books that boost her self-esteem. The thing is, other children have their eyes on her, so you might increase her mood at the morning, but it won't last through the day if she keeps on getting picked on. She needs to have more confidence in herself.
Hair Love by Matthew Cherry and Big Head Bob by David Bradley are great books for her even if she's already an avid reader. The Dot by Peter Reynolds is also an option.
Wish you the best of luck! :)

Thanks for being so open and sharing your story. Don't want to sound crazy, but are you sure that he isn't doing illegal things on his computer? I have a friend who is raising a teenager and she installed monitoring app in his computer (just because wanted to manage his social media a bit). I don't have children myself and know about it only from articles like this, but it looks like a pretty useful way to protect the child..
You can also try this wonderful App

I'm doing a research project at University on cyber security awareness in childhood education. Would really appreciate it if any parents of primary school-aged children would please complete my survey! I'm predominantly interested in children aged between 7 and 11 but would be grateful for any responses!!
Thank you
Also, I would look into something called "Tube Buddy". It's a YouTube channel management tool that will be essential if she wants to get big and you guys don't know a lot about YouTube. https://www.tubebuddy.com/tools#channelytics
Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters https://www.amazon.com/dp/168451228X/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_50GR32J5HZSW1X1GJ8TE
I would recommend this book to you. The author has 36 pages of sources. Check her sources and the doctors she interviews for this book. She argues that there's nothing wrong with transgender kids, but what's happening with girls now isn't as simple as "they're finding who they really are." The stories and experiences shared by the parents in this book might give you some more perspective and help you prepare for the road ahead.
Check out funbites my kid loves his tiny sandwiches and not a bite is left at the end. I try to cut real close to the crust to minimize waste
We used a peri spray with dry wipes on my youngest and it was the best. Spray some on their junk and some on the wipe, and it easily removes blowout diapers and prevents rash. The nurses from the NIC-U had us use it.
Maybe something like
For the banister side.
For the wall side, maybe something like this that hinges so the angle of the wall won't matter?

Right!!!! It’s legit one of the best purchases I’ve made as a parent & it was only $20. Such a hidden gem.
Here is the link to the one I have for anyone that doesn’t know already: https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Tot-2-Potty-Travel/dp/B071GV1VYY/ref=asc_df_B071GV1VYY/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=199223508459&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14003666863283306596&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hv...
And then we keep a pack of cottonElle wipes & hand sanitizer in the bag the potty seat comes with and it’s everything you need.
Comfy nursing tanks like these.
I had 2 mini-meltdowns in the early newborn phase and one involved having only nursing bras and no nursing tanks. I never anticipated the desire to cover my weirdly squishy stomach and the nursing bras left me feeling exposed.
We got these for our kids a couple months ago. They are so comfortable and all around I’d highly recommend. They are only $99 dollars. And then you just buy a platform frame to put it on. No box spring is required.

Since he is interested in his hands right now Mabye you could get him a few finger puppets and for the musical idem I suggest this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0053X62GK/ ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_lSwWFbYWWREDJ or one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MXS4UTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_xTwWFbXXQB0ZW
Hope this helps
We traveled a lot with littles. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GKXYD4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_YguWFb724X083 was a lifesaver! Lots of fun kid's cds for sing alongs, finger puppets and other little things they can play with, toss around and not get hurt and then they'll be new again when you stop and offer them again. Lots of snacks and drinks too
We have this one and he loves it. He doesn’t always use it as a walker but we keep it “parked” against a wall and he likes climbing up and using it to stand while he plays with all the things on it
Seconded. They are the only kind I've found that actually fit his frame without looking ridiculous.
There's also a fantastic pair of shorts by Lee's that I found on Amazon. Kinda pricey, but well worth it. We've had the same 2 pairs for over a year now and I swear, they look brand new and my boy is HARD on his clothes. Lee Little Boys' Dungarees Grafton Cargo Short, Black, 5 Here ya go!
Good luck!
I have a husband and a kid that just have copious amounts of earwax. They're gross. It's apparently genetic? So a few years ago I got an earwax rinse tool, after many visits to the doctor's office for lavage. We use it in conjunction with Debrox to help soften the goo, after a shower so it's really soft and ready to move. The price of the Rhino Wash seems high, but it's certainly less than going in and having a Dr do it! https://www.amazon.com/Washer-Bottle-System-Doctor-Easy/dp/B005M2HSQK/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=ear+wax+rhino+wash&qid=1599762550&sr=8-6

This is a great book that shows you what is developmentally appropriate for little kids. If you read a book like this, then if there is an issue, like a speech delay, you will notice it earlier and be able to get help earlier. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553393820/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
