Well, I use all the tags I possibly can. Look into Nick Nimmin and TubeBuddy.
Both explain the importance of Click Thru Rate, tagging, and TubeBuddy has ways to help you do Tag searching to see how it ranks on the Algorithm.
Looking at the features, the free version looks pretty useless to me. Most of the features are just a copy of Youtube Analytics.
The most useful features seem to be Keyword Rank Tracking and Video A/B Tests, and those are "limited" even with the legendary version, and the legendary version costs a legendary $40 (!) per month.
I do! It's definitely been worth it for me, especially for doing tag researching and keeping an eye on my channel health. I have the pro license with the coupon code Rising Star that's offered when you sign up, so it's actually $4,50 for me!
"RisingStarBuddy 50% off for Channels that have less than 50,000 Views"
Edit: If you sign up and don't mind, would you use my affiliate link? There's no aditional cost for you: https://www.tubebuddy.com/Draconicrose
As far as I know, YouTube only allows private videos to be set to get scheduled. However, I know Tubebuddy has a feature that allows you to upload with them and they'll keep the video unlisted until a certain time. Details here.
I'll start.
Submit videos to be featured on blogs and mailing lists in my niche to get exposure. This is how I got my first 100 subs.
Use Google Trends to gauge the popularity of a topic or the best time to publish before putting the time in to make a video.
Make more videos, and publish on a schedule. When I do 2 a week, my channel does better.
Installed the Tube Buddy extension. I use it to see how my keywords/tags are performing, and periodically remove ones that aren't helping much to test out new ones.
Tweak tags and thumbnails that are underperforming.
I know that TubeBuddy has a way to copy annotations between videos but I've never used that specific function so I'm not sure how well it works but might be worth trying. In my experience manually adding annotations hasn't been too buggy so I'm not sure why it's working so badly for you, maybe try another browser? Are you on chrome (google stuff usually works best with google stuff)?
I love that you optimized your channel banner with fun pictures and drawings. I recommend that you add more tags to your videos. A useful tool would be TubeBuddy. You could use the free version or a paid version for $3 a month which I use and I find useful. Here is a link if you are interested: https://www.tubebuddy.com/KevinTuna. Thumbnails are great but I would add more text or emojis if you can. A tip that you can use is to watch your video over and if you get bored or want to do something else, try changing it because if you can't watch your own video, then others will not. Have a great day and stay safe!
For the future, sign up to TubeBuddy, they've got "brand alert" that tells you when someone does something like this. Happened to me, but before I was able to see the channel, it was taken down
Along with the good advice being given here, I'd advise that you get the TubeBuddy extension for your browser.
It has tools for both streamlining channel management, as well as checklists and such to help SEO and discoverability.
Your production quality is very good. Everything fits together really well. I think a little narration would help if you're trying to make yourself your own brand. I also think your banner should better explain what your channel is about. It might also be a good idea if you specified on Instagram that you're a Youtuber who posts regularly. And it might help to inform your Instagram audience when a new video is out. You can post a screenshot or a small clip of your new video.
If you're not already using it, you can try out TubeBuddy to work on your metadata. It gives you keywords suggestions and rates their potential effectiveness.
Your music is very good and you have a great voice. You should try taking that route with the next few videos and see what happens. I think there are subreddits where you can share your music.
Best of luck!
so Long-tailed keywords are usually 3-4 words instead of just using one keywords. I usually base my Title off of my best-ranked keywords (I use TubeBuddy to see where keywords rank and keyword scores). I have an EDM Vlog channel so I'm going to use examples that I've actually used
Examples of this would be: -DIY Rave Outfits 2017 - Ultra Music Festival 2017 Vlog - DIY Excision Halter Top
Another suggestion besides using TubeBuddy would be to open Youtube and go to the search bar and type in the title of your video (don't push enter). Use the suggested searches as keywords. You can do the same on google. But, Tubebuddy does this for you with their tag explorer, its a pretty cool feature.
If you'd like to check out tubebuddy: https://www.tubebuddy.com I'd be happy to answer more questions if you're still confused(:
TL; DR: It's awesome and I highly recommend it. I know this will sound like I work for them, but I assure you that I just love the plugin so much.
I have been using it for over a year and it's invaluable. I use it for every video I upload for annotation and card templates as well as optimizing tags. The bulk updates are great too for updating links or titles across all your videos. I periodically have to update all my store links, or change my social media links, and I can do it super fast across all of my videos because they have a "search and replace" feature.
It's cool because it's a small team that is dedicated to addressing all the concerns of their users. They are always asking for feedback and trying to create the best product they can. There have been a few features that I have personally requested that they have implimented which is amazing.
If you decide to sign up, use my handy affiliate link! Tube Buddy
Hey gang! Yes, you can absolutely do it with TubeBuddy. Install for free at https://www.tubebuddy.com/install
Our bulk actions are a paid feature but email me for a free upgrade -
Thanks!
p.s. You can also bulk copy cards and end screens as well. And also bulk delete or update annotations/cards
I have been using TubeBuddy since it came out and haven't looked back
https://www.tubebuddy.com/CaptainClash
There is a free limited version and paid versions.
If you ever want to see tags without addons all you have to do is right click on any video page and then click "View page source" and then click F3 for find and search for "keyword" and it will show you the tags someone uses. TubeBuddy is nice though for a million other features besides finding tags
We generally give our free "Star" level upgrades for a couple months to try everything out (https://www.tubebuddy.com/pricing)
Weird - I see it all over: http://content.screencast.com/users/SharedDocs/folders/Jing/media/018104ae-3f89-4665-ba50-a1857cad77b2/2016-07-12_1208.png
There are many tools / tips that have helped me make videos, and will continue to help me.
1) Make consistent, quality videos. Stick to a schedule and post.
2) Use tags and make a good title and description. YouTube and Google rank your videos based on the information you give them. My favorite tool is TubeBuddy, an application that helps you with tags, and more.
3) This thread in the Youtube Creator Hub basically sums it up. (channel artwork, about page, channel trailer).
The paid version of TubeBuddy allows this. I just signed up and added a card that links to my merch store on 520 videos. One sale would outweigh the cost I initially put up.
While TubeBuddy's annotation tools aren't fully automated, you can use it to copy annotations from one video to another.
Free version only allows copying to one video at a time, but that's more than enough in most cases.
Using this with scheduled uploads might achieve what you're trying?
>This has lead to me thinking that absolutely noone has a clue what -YouTube does
Then why are you asking us?
As far as I know, Youtube will check the title, description and tags for search terms. Not just words, terms. So if your video title, description and tag terms match the search terms then you'll appear in the results. Not saying you'll be at the top though, other things come in to play there like views, likes etc.
You want to match what someone would search for. There's no point having a tag that says "killing floor gameplay video number 1", something like "killing floor gameplay" would be more likely a search term.
Have a look in to https://www.tubebuddy.com/, you don't need to join their network but you can still use the tool for free to get some ideas what tags are popular.
If you’re struggling with ranking your YouTube videos, check out Tube Buddy at the affiliate link below. It helps you get more viewers and subscribers by enhancing your keywords, SEO, and more!
If you’re struggling with ranking your YouTube videos, check out Tube Buddy at the affiliate link below. It helps you get more viewers and subscribers by enhancing your keywords, SEO, and more!
It's called Tube Buddy. I use the free version right now, it has some cool features that YouTube Studio doesn't including a milestone page that makes you feel nice about the small achievements!
I checked out your channel - <strong>https://www.tubebuddy.com/LHH</strong> Use this free addon and make sure you are tagging your videos. It will help you grow faster. Also putting your content on Tiktok and other short form medias as well will help your discoverability. Keep on keeping on my dude
I check out your channel a bit and I can suggest a few things to just improve your quality.
-Some of your videos were a bit "sonically busy" as in the noise from your gameplay was interfering with your voice over. Never forget YOU are the star of your videos, not the gameplay.
- Please correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like you aren't scripting your videos. Your reviews feel a bit like a brain dump. It shows that you know a ton about Elite Dangerous with a review the goal is to sell it to someone who knows nothing about it ya know? Taking a bit more time to improve your scripting
-Finally, I've suggested this to a few people - <strong>https://www.tubebuddy.com/LHH</strong>
This is a free add on that helps you see how discoverable your videos are and check tags. A few of your videos had no tags. No tags = No discoverability. Learning everything you can about SEO will help your discoverability.
Keep learning and grinding and don't hesitate to reach out (that goes for anyone).
First of all make sure you're using this: <strong>https://www.tubebuddy.com/LHH</strong>
Its a free plugin that let's you see how effective your YouTube tags are. From what I could tell you're only using 2 or 3 tags on your vids, some of which are extremely high traffic. I would also adjust your webcam which is a bit big in your let's plays.
The nice thing about let's plays is that you can add visual and sound effects to spice them up! Also your highest view count was on a musical cover you did, that's a great way to get some exposure on other social media platforms.
It is ok to be stuck. Whenever I'm stuck I watch other people's content to see what I like and don't like and try to incorporate the elements of that into my content. You got this. It's ok to take it slow and steady my dude. <3
I use the paid version of tube buddy too it is only around $4 a month (Only have to pay one month at a time so you can cancel if not worth it after one month) if you have less then 1000 subscribers I found the tags suggestions helpful you get a lot more if you pay plus you can get free music to use and become an affiliate if you do go that route use this link and I get a percentage thanks https://www.tubebuddy.com/LucyEths
Nice Channel and a great idea! You have a great start and with good SEO your channel will grow. Do you use Tubebuddy?
It can help you with Keyword research and optimize your SEO so your channel will show up on Search Engines like Google. Here is a link to a free download if you are interested:
I just saw this lol answered my own question https://www.tubebuddy.com/affiliateprogram
Interesting would this let me use the TB logo on my stream and allow me to say sponsored by them? its not really paid until people sign up so possibly an option?
Yes... I've been uploading daily for just over a month and having fun. Definitely learning more about tagging... TubeBuddy has been AMAZING! If you haven't tried it yet, they have a Free version which is good, but I use the Pro version which is TOTALLY worth it... <strong>https://www.tubebuddy.com/AskTallPaul</strong>
Upload consistent content. be different. try to stand out from the crowd, there are also free and paid growth tools such as TubeBuddy which as tonnes of features to help grow and manage your channel.
TubeBuddy is like VIDIQ - its a tool that sync to your youtube channel and provide statistics, recommended analysis, keywords, and much more.
https://www.tubebuddy.com/newcustomerx/adwordssUS
I am using it with my YouTube Channel
well, here https://www.tubebuddy.com/Othmaneadams
try this tool! it really helps with tags and stuff.

for the thumbnail, just highlight the main subject of the video!
The editing is great, love your message. I check out some of your other videos and you have and you have the same tags in everyone of them. Think of it this way, tags have to match a phrase that people search for, and by identifying your audience and coming up with phrases they might use for searching your video is what search engine optimization essentially is. Proper tags will also help your video be suggested to people who watch similar videos. There is also free tools that can help you with this like tubebuddy:
https://www.tubebuddy.com/MPBS
Hope this helps your video get some exposure.
Also, I would look into something called "Tube Buddy". It's a YouTube channel management tool that will be essential if she wants to get big and you guys don't know a lot about YouTube. https://www.tubebuddy.com/tools#channelytics
You can download tubebuddy app from here:
https://www.tubebuddy.com/ChinitaFashionista
If you’ll sign up for free subscription, it won’t cost you anything, but I would gain credit if you will use my affiliate link.
I do all of my keyword research find all of my high ranking tags see analytics and track my milestones with this web browser app it helped me and hope it can help you to free to use here: https://www.Tubebuddy.com/obsessedwithcompilation
I am so happy and so proud right now, if you are a new YouTube you will understand. And if you are new and are not sure how you can check your milestones reserch keywords and much more use these guys verified by YouTube themself: https://www.Tubebuddy.com/obsessedwithcompilation
I would look into https://ifttt.com/ to automate some of your posts. You can do, for example, every time you upload a video to YouTube it will Tweet about it with a custom Tweet. Or, every time you upload a Video to YT, it can start a framework for your WordPress blog.
I am not on my home computer with TubeBuddy installed, but I highly recommend at least giving that a try if you haven't already. I'm not sure if I can do a shameless plug for it here or not but I use it every day pretty much. My affiliate link is here in full disclosure: https://www.tubebuddy.com/markgingrass
Also, in your description, straight up tell people "If you like this video and want to see more, hit the Subscribe button." Or tell them to Share it. Same with on Twitter. Make sure to use some good hash tags.
Try to use something like Google Keep to keep notes on what you want to put in ALL of your descriptions so you can just cut/paste them. I wish I could see your tags but I can't right now.
I know all of this takes time. Hopefully you get it down to a science because these videos are pretty funny. I watched the War Games one as well.
We finally hit 400 subscribers after 10 weeks on YouTube! How exciting! Thanks everyone for your support ❤️ We really appreciate it ❤️
Also a big thank you to TBuddy for their free software that has really helped our channel grow!
THIS IS HOW

If you truly have a niche market, then ads probably won't help. Good content and posting often are the key.
Good content can be very subjective. Just having information out there without being entertaining doesn't get you subs. Your content has to engage the viewer in some way and get them interested to hear more.
And by the way, your subs will only account for a very small fraction of future views on new videos.
If you want to spend your money more wisely check out TubeBuddy
Their tools can help you create descriptions and keywords to improve your search rankings. I recommend switching your ad dollars to a TubeBuddy subscription.
I don't think there's to much you can do to make things ranked other than get the tags right.
I would recommend tubebuddy if you don't already use it. https://www.tubebuddy.com/y4x
Shows you alot of information and useful tools especially tag recommendations.
VIDIQ gives you most of what TB's lower tiers for free. If you want to pay TubeBuddy offers more tools while VIDIQ offers keyword optimization (which in my opinion isn't really helpful). VIDIQ offers a tool to help fix demonetization by removing bad keywords (can be very effective), TubeBuddy offers a tool to mass appeal demonetized videos https://www.tubebuddy.com/tools#bulkdemonetization.
VidIQ Free is probably better than TB pro, star is slightly better, and Legend is significantly better than VidIQ free or pro.
https://www.tubebuddy.com/DAZMAN
Download this app. its free or you can upgrade to paid version. It helps you get your channel seen by more people, simply by using titles, tags and keywords better!!!

Unfortunately, if the niche is not generating more views, you're either doing something wrong or it's not actually a proper underserved, high demand niche.
I suggest tightening up your youtube fundamentals. Grab a friend who isn't afraid to hurt your feelings and a free tool like TubeBuddy.
Then, use TubeBuddy to see where you rank for your tags and if it can suggest you any better tags. Grab a search where your video shows up and ask your friend which thumbnail they like best. Make sure your sound, visuals, description, tags, and content strategy are on point.
I don't know what your YouTube genre is, but if you're getting lower average views than me after 4 years (13 average, 103 subs, 10 months channel age) then something is not going according to plan.
Almost everything works with the new layout but not 100% yet. https://www.tubebuddy.com/pricing gives you a breakdown (you can do a lot for free). Also, head to TubeBuddy.com/account/freetrial for a free trial upgrade.
Have you considered using TubeBuddy or VidIQ? I personally use VidIQ. They both have free versions that will provide you with the basics of setting up your tags by making suggestions. You can go with the Pro Version if you want the additional tools.
Also, you can use Hashtags in your descriptions and tag field. The first 5 seconds of your video (Closed Caption) also counts as keyword tagging. I've stop using an Intro and just go with a typical worded introduction. You can put your Intro in after the 5 seconds if you want its all a matter of personal preference.
I've put together a video you may find helpful on this topic. I've not made one covering Tube Buddy or VidIQ, you can search for those on YouTube. SEO Key Tagging
It gives you a lot of shortcuts, such as being able to copy tags across videos, view statistics regarding your tags and how they "rank", as well as giving you a word count on your tags and descriptions.
That's about all I know of it, since those are the only things I use it for. It has other uses, but just the tag and description work alone makes it worth the download.
I would say based on everything that we know, word position in your Title and Description definitely matter. When it comes to Tags, I believe YouTube has said that it doesn't matter but we have many many customers that swear that changing tag position does actually help. So we recommend that people do put their most important tags first. We have a "Tag Sorter" tool that helps you with that. p.s. You can get a free TubeBuddy upgrade here: https://www.tubebuddy.com/account/freetrial Thanks, Phil
I'd take a look at this playlist and see if anything jumps out at you: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpzjxyndddwKZOrvsztnsq5Xp88ay9HzF also, our Tools page at https://www.tubebuddy.com/tools gives a list of everything we offer.
most people are happy with the free stuff and I'd say more like 80% is free and 20% is paid. Also, you can get a free trial upgrade here: https://www.tubebuddy.com/account/freetrial and we give 50% off if you have less than 50,000 views on your channel.
I recommend you download tubebuddy. it adds a reply button to the comments on this new system. it looks like this: http://prntscr.com/dviyau It does a whole lot of other great things for creators too. check it out https://www.tubebuddy.com/
Great energy.
You asked specifically about SEO, so I checked out your tags. According to TubeBuddy, many of your tags are a combination of low-search volume and high-competition. Not really what you what. Your video description could have helped your ranking, but you misspelled "minimum security" as "minimum secruity," so you aren't going to get a match between your description keywords and your video keywords, unfortunately.
I . . . sort of do? I don't spend a whole ton of time doing research with it or anything but I do look at my existing tags that it says rank in search results and try to use more tags that are similar to those.
Also, guys, really, copy and paste into Google and click the first result that shows up: https://www.tubebuddy.com/
I can't say what the problem is, but I would recommend emailing TubeBuddy if you haven't already. Not because I think it's a serious problem, but because if anyone can help you, it'd be them.
Some things you should know it that recording games is easy. But you are still going to be spending a LOT of time working on youtube videos. So here are some mistakes that I made that you should know. 1. make sure you have a good mic. 2. make sure you have as little background noise (people hate that) 3. your friends and family will subscribe to your channel . There not watching it. 4. Dont lock out all collabs (these help alot) 5. Use copyright free music. There is a massive List on youtube creator 6. Be yourself Try not to copy someone else Channel You need to stand out from the crowd not be part of it. 7. upload regulatory Mon -Fri or What ever. Just keep at it even if it is once a week. 8. You are a starting channel you are not going to get 100's of views overnight. You need to self promote on social media like Facebook or Twitter. 9. When you start getting comments Dont get discouraged when you get hate comments. All comments help your channel. Take it with a grain of salt. Some times people are just giving constructive criticism. 10. Make basic easy to read catchy thumbnails and Number your videos :P
Hope this Helps you get of to a good start man.
P.S. Use https://www.tubebuddy.com/NPCKiller to help you with tags and other stuff for your channel . You can use the free one dont matter. I didn't want to use this at first cause I thought it was a waste but it has help out a lot.
I also would be happy to help where you need it. after you start uploading let me know and Ill do an #ontheair interview with you and that should help your channel as well. I can only so this when you have some content to show and a good mic. I don't ask anything in return but ask for a comment and a Rec on who you want me to Interview next that you know.
Hey I'm glad I could help! It's this chrome plugin https://www.tubebuddy.com/. I'm just using the free version. It gives you a bunch of extra things to supplement the analytic, the creator studio, things like that. One thing I like is not only can you see more detailed stats of other users channels easily, but you can also see their videos tags.
It also does some tag performance analysis so you can see what tags are doing things for you. For that though you can use the Keyword Planner Tool in Google Adwords to see how your tags play into search trends.
Thanks for sending the info +GamingStylez and it's good to hear feedback from customers. mikeyisapartydude92, you can always contact us if you want a free trial of TubeBuddy (). You said VidIQ doesn't work beyond 209 annotations which seems like an arbitrary number so I'm guessing they give you unlimited for free but there is just a problem while processing or something? In addition to bulk copy annotations with TubeBuddy you can also delete and update in bulk and a million other things - https://www.tubebuddy.com/tools. I suggest you check out both products and see what fits your needs. Thanks!
It's the plan you need to get the bulk copy of annotations and cards among other things. I personally only use the bulk annotations/cards and the tag features so it's a little pricey just for those few things.
