The contents are the same as this
Not to be confused with the prose version
I most certainly would! http://cliffjonesjr.com/dreampunk-examples
For another comic, Scott Pilgrim is great if you haven't read it, and for a novel, I'd recommend Haruki Murakami's Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. For a more steampunk-ish vibe, you could check out Jeb Sherrill's Storm Dreams (which I really need to add to my list on that page I linked), and for dark, sprawling weirdness, Yelena Calavera is cool.
There's definitely more good stuff that fits the dreampunk mold; I just haven't read it all yet.
Oh yeah, and shameless self-promotion... Until I find a literary agent, you can read my own novel Adelaide in Ozghard for free on Wattpad: http://www.wattpad.com/story/35257440-adelaide-in-ozghard
Thes also a 5 volume Deluxe edition for $5.99 each which might be a little more but looks like it has a bit more (the first 4 might have the other 11 $1.99 books).
Look for the books (NOT the volumes). They're generally cheaper but good quality and should last a good while through normal wear and tear.
Link to book 1: https://www.amazon.com/Sandman-Book-One/dp/1779515170/ref=asc_df_1779515170/
(I believe there are four total)
Available for pre-order on Amazon.com, can't see it on UK site yet though;
If you just want the main story, then the newer 4 "Book" editions contain the same as the first ten volumes, and should be much easier to come by
https://www.amazon.com/Sandman-Book-One/dp/1779515170
Then just buy the additional volumes (Endless Nights, Dream Hunters, Overture) separately once you've read the main story
The box set has actually been sold out for quite a while, and I've been waiting for it to come back into print for months. It looks like it's actually finally back on sale on amazon if you can buy it there https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401294707/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not a bad price for the amount of content you're getting (it was actually $168.16 when I bought it this morning, now $173, still a good price $12 a book for the complete story).
All gone at eBay.. here’s the closest thing I can find at a decent price
So the complete set can be found on Amazon like this https://www.amazon.com/Sandman-Box-Set-Neil-Gaiman/dp/1401294707
When I collected the comics the first time I just bought the sets one by one until I got them all, but honestly a collection, or an omnibus would probably be the least expensive way for you to get them all.
Either way though, I wish you happy reading. This is legit one of my favorite series, and the way it's been brought to screen is just so good!!!
Here's a link to book one and what it looks like, buy it from your local bookshop if you can!
If you want to buy pretty much everything for cheap I will highly recommend the box set.
If price isn't an issue, get the Absolute Sandman edition. They are beautifully wonderful!
To my surprise, there will be a third omnibus: https://smile.amazon.com/Books-Omnibus-Sandman-Universe-Classics/dp/177951736X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2L0UCMRWYTM3L&keywords=sandman+universe+classics&qid=1646849494&s=books&sprefix=sandman+universe+classics%2Cstripbooks%2C66&sr=1-1
It doesn't yet have a synopsis saying which issues it collects.
.
French here. If your English is good enough, and it seems to be, go for the English version. You might as well get the original experience.
I've been slowly buying the Absolute Sandman. They are a bit spenny but I figured I would probably end up spending more on smaller/shorter books.
The edition below is amazing especially if you want to dive into the art and the inspiration of Neil Gaiman and his collaborators. https://www.amazon.fr/Sandman-vol-2-absolute/dp/140121083X/ref=asc_df_140121083X/?tag=googshopfr-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=227946729598&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=687035534090674962&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&h...
There are other omnibus that are smaller and less expensive like this edition: https://www.amazon.fr/Sandman-Omnibus-Vol-1/dp/1401241883/ref=asc_df_1401241883/?tag=googshopfr-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=51038374206&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=687035534090674962&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvd...
Fuck I feel like the prices for these have skyrocketed. Paying the high price before they release the series!
If you have questions about the omnibus let me know! I have both omnibus editions.
Thanks for your comment. I was refering to this Set
This one should already be a lot cheaper than the 30th anniversary paperbacks. Or do you mean those?
While it'd be nice, to have a 30th anniversary edition to match the rest of the collection, this is a perfectly afford able edition: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1401247164/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'd guess they're trying to get people who already own the previous editions to buy the new "Deluxe" editions ($50 hardcovers, each with 2 of the original volumes in them).
I see something similar with the latest box set. Collects V.1-14?! Well, they include both Dream Hunters (prose) and Dream Hunters (comic), which is questionable, but don't include either Death miniseries, which is suspicious. How long til the box set is rereleased with those included?
I personally really enjoy it - it's kind of a 'fantasy epic' but without many of the usual tropes. The last arc just started up. You can grab it on Amazon or your favorite comic retailer, or I'm sure an enterprising lad such as yourself might be able to find it free online if that's your bag (no judgement)
I’d buy the regular trade paper back editions in the box set.
Hopefully this link to Amazon works.
This is the cheapest way to buy the original run, plus a few extra stories without breaking the bank. The Absolutes are more of a collectors item and fairly large. These are smaller and easier to read. Plus it’s the new box set.
Getting the run as original single issues would be expensive and tedious. This is the same, just easier to manage.
The second deluxe has been solicited as well. The first and second volume will come out 5 months apart. Also worth mentioning, they are of the same size as the omnis.
The absolutes get pricey once you've bought them all. Personally, I'd go with the new box set.
You won't be disappointed... Carey's Lucifer series is excellent. Not as much of a fan of the subsequent 2016 series*, which retcons well beyond my comfort zone, but Carey's work is excellent.

The TPB, I would highly recommend just getting the used copy for like $6, it is the full 4 issues collected. Unless you're made of money don't seek out the floppies, they're relatively difficult to find and expensive for little reason.
For which edition to get, I'd simply get the same edition you decide to get for Sandman. Just bear in mind if you're getting the trades, the two mini-series were originally collected separately. The current TP (Amazon link) collects both of these plus extras. And being the only one in print, is generally cheaper than either of the others!
In terms of reading order, it doesn't really matter. In publication order, The High Cost of Living comes between volumes 7 and 8. The Time of Your Life was published after the original run of Sandman finished, so between volumes 10 and 11. Being a spin-off, though, it's not relevant to the main story and could be read any time after our first introduction to Death in volume 1.
I got them direct from Amazon UK, as it gives me the opportunity to check them on arrival and decline delivery if they're the old Vertigo printings.
The links for volumes 2 and 3 are:
Though a simple search on Amazon for "Sandman 30th Anniversary" brings up a pretty clean list of all the volumes.
In case it makes a difference to you, the copy I received of volume 2 was the Black Label edition, and volume 3 was Vertigo. I'll be interested to know which versions you get.
Here's the Amazon link for the most recent trade version of Preludes and Nocturnes.
I was going off this review by Jason on Amazon
The Dream Hunters actually has two different versions.
It was originally a prose story with full-page illustrations by Yoshitaka Amano: https://www.amazon.com/Sandman-Dream-Hunters-Neil-Gaiman/dp/1840232048
Later, P. Craig Russell adapted it into comic book form, which is the one you linked to.
I've read the first but not the second, so I can't say how important reading both is.
