I watch CBC outside of Canada on this link, you can watch it when it comes out that way...

P.s. in no way am I paid to post this just thought I’d share as it took me a while to find a stable way to view CBC from outside home...
I've heard the cable/satellite varies from service to service. I think you have to get the channel to use the app.
I don't have cable or satellite, so it wasn't an option for me.
VPNs are free, depending on where you go. This is what I used to watch Season 5 in the US as each episode aired. I like to watch things on my laptop, so I just searched the Google Chrome store for a browser extension. The one I use and have been happy with is called Hotspot Shield. It is totally free, and all you need to do is turn it on, and then visit the site. The app does the rest. In fact, I've been going back and rewatching season 5 through that. There also sometimes are videos or interviews with the cast posted on Canadian sites that I can watch through that.
If you don't like Google Chrome, Firefox also has several options. Safari has one I found, but I didn't look into it because I don't really ever use Safari as a web browser.
If you watch stuff on a phone or tablet...I also just did a cursory search on my iphone and found several free apps in the app store, including Hotspot Shield. I'm sure if you have an android phone it would be similar.
Let me know if you have questions or can't figure it out. I'm not super techie, but I know enough to help fellow fans in need, because Season 5 is SO GOOD.
Unrelated, but the episode synopses are here for some of the next few episodes and it looks like in one of them David and Patrick are going full-blown fanfic lol
I had to make it myself. I used this on Amazon. It came out great and wasn't expensive at all.

know this is old now but I found some shirts at Winners that look like Stevie’s. The brand was Ci Sono which seems to sell from Amazon mostly. If you have a Winners I would look there first. They don’t seem to have much online presence.
Here’s one with the side panels:
There shouldn't have been any questions, although it's been probably about a year since I started using Hotspot Shield so maybe I've forgotten or they've changed their onboarding process. Anyway, glad you found a way to watch!
Here you go:
I got them off amazon! They came in a set of 3 so I ended up ordering 2, but it was still significantly cheaper than some other alternatives I've seen.

That's very strange because I was just watching The Great Canadian Baking Show last night on the CBC website with my VPN set to Canada, and it worked. I'm guessing Schitt's Creek would work too. (Don't have time to test it right now.) Also ExpressVPN.
Yes, they locked them again. So frustrating!! My advice, if you don't want to pay for the episodes, is to get a VPN. Chrome and Firefox both have browser extensions if you use a laptop, and you can download an app if you use a phone or tablet. I use Hotspot Shield. It's free and has worked wonderfully for me every time.
Once you get a VPN, you can go to the CBC's website and stream the episodes for free.
If you want to buy and own the episodes digitally, Amazon seems to be the best bet.
I recommend checking out a VPN service, like NordVPN. For a couple of bucks a month you can connect to servers all over the world. Handy for watching geolocked content from the UK, Australia, Canada, etc... (as well as switching to various different Netflix libraries).
