4000 in Primary + Secondary and 2000 in the other four skills will get you to 4 hours every time, assuming your Borg Cube is level 1 and you have absolutely no matching traits.
You can play around with this tool to figure stuff out: Voyage Estimator
I've tested Blockada recently, and with the default setting the offer wall actually isn't there anymore. Neither are the ad-warps. The downside is that it doesn't seem to have a killswitch and it reconnects relatively often.
I'm usually using NordVPN, which has a feature called Cybersec that's supposed to block malware. Doesn't interfere with the offer wall though. But, funnily enough, the Steam version won't start when Cybersec is enabled, as I've discovered yesterday.
The Voyage Estimator is a useful tool to see how long a voyage will go. As others in this thread have stated, your stats have a relative effect on the hazards. I think the number is somewhere around 1250/hr for when you'll start failing; IOW, if my SEC score is 2500, I'll probably start failing SEC hazards after the 2 hour mark.
But the calculator will help.
> Is it trying to force me to spend real money on dilithium? I haven't ever spent money on micro-transactions and I don't want to start. More broadly, do you guys spend real money on this game?
Some people do. Some people just buy the monthly card, some go all-out, some have an ebb and flow. Some spend No money. There's even Fleets dedicated to VIP-0 (no money spent) players.
I've written some broad statements on where/how to focus with minimal/no spending, and how to best spend dilithium earned. I wouldn't take this advice as 100% gospel, although I will die on the hill of 'Spend all Earned in-game dilithium on shuttles first'.
> To me, at least, it boils down to one thing, how long can voyages be in theory with a full super rare crew and no legendary in sight?
That's a really interesting question. For a very back of the envelope way to tackle this I picked the top 12 4* voyagers from the level 100 spreadsheet. They have an aggregate 32,600 voyage score. When I distributed that into the STT voyage estimator (using about 1/3 of the total for each of the two featured skills and distributing the last third among the other four skills) and starting antimatter of 2950 it estimates the voyage will last 8h 16m.
So that's the hypothetical best case scenario, which assumes the correct skill distributions among the top voyagers.
The Voyage length estimator linked in the sidebar can help you figure out approximately how long your voyages will last. And the iampicard Crew management tool has a voyage section that will automatically pick the optimal crew setup for your voyage, though you'd have to make crew substitutions in-game if you wanted to change something.
1,000 more AM from your ship would add about 50 minutes to your voyage, so cross your fingers for 5* ship schematics from any premium packs you acquire and ad-warp an extra Dabo spin each day for a shot at 5* schematics.
I don't get the time itself, just "an hour ago, 2 hours ago, etc" but otherwise my experience is the same. Only way to ensure you don't lose your ship is to check your phone non-stop when you're on the last leg of your journey.
There are tools available that will let you estimate your voyage length. The only thing I can suggest is try using one of them to get a rough idea of how long your voyage will go and then start monitoring it more closely once you are near that mark. For me, that's between 5.5-7.5 hours, depending on loadout. Your mileage may vary.
In mobile versions, it's under the Community Info for the sub. In the full website, it's in the sidebar information.
But to make it easier... Voyage Length Estimator
Enjoy!
consistently hit 4 hrs? I would guess at least 3k on the primary and secondary.
One piece of advice though is don't completely sacrifice one stat for another, as a nice balance is helps too. I regularly hit 7-7.5hrs with a balance of between 6-7k on primary and secondary and 4kish on the rest. I can pump DIP well above 10k if I really wanted but that means the others start failing at about 2hr mark, so I don't get that far
There is this voyage length estimator, https://codepen.io/somnivore/full/Nabyzw, which is on the sidebar on the right, though I have never used it
I can actually imagine them pulling it off, pity though that she doesn’t seem to look like Leeta at all, except for the promo art, which looks awesome!
Yes, I actually did this in our fleet's Discord room. The way I have it set uses IFTTT.
Here's the applet I created: https://ifttt.com/applets/76867607d-if-new-feed-item-from-https-forum-disruptorbeam-com-stt-categories-starfleet-communications-feed-rss-then-make-a-web-request
If the applet shows my webhook, you'll need to create your own in Discord.
It pulls from the RSS feed of the forum. If it doesn't work natively add " /slack" to the end of the webhook.
Feel free to let me know if you have any issues!
Probably because there are too many variables to sim something like that properly. I do know that at some point (for me about month 8), my voyages were crewed exclusively with 5* crew. The mega events more or less make that a guarantee after a certain point.
>I do lack experience to use the tools that let you play with voyages numbers to get the most out of them.
In what way? The Iampicard tool is automatic and may take some of the guesswork out of it, but the voyage estimator and wiki page includes more explanation of the moving parts.
It's a 5 issue miniseries, so all of it! Here it is on Comixology
not sure if you're referring to this or not: https://trakt.tv/shows/saturday-night-live/seasons/19/episodes/12
TLDW, the one time Patrick Stewart hosted SNL, they did a sketch called "Love Boat the Next Generation". Basically TNG x Love Boat, with JLP in place of Capt. Stubing, Troi as "Julie the Cruise Director", I think Riker as "Gopher" ... and Geordi as Isaac the bartender. "Outta sight!" I think mainly because Tim Meadows (who wore a VISOR-lookalike thingy across his face) was the main black dude, or maybe the only black dude, on SNL's cast at the time
I don't read much into the online hate.
I do however read much into the fact that out of ~50 Star Trek fans I know personally only ONE likes the show.
I also read much into the fact that NETFLIX passed on Picard after being VERY dissappointed with how DIS turned out.
Netflix, the Network which makes a Season 2 of Another Life...
And finally I personally had to pause every Episode in Season 2 for at least 10 minutes to scream at the idiots on the screen behaving like idiots (especially Burnham who allegedly outsmarts many Vulcans (The science academy must be good even for vulcan standards if until Spock it was logical for no one to decline admission)).
Other shows had their share of bad episodes and some had stupid behaviour from allegedly smart people - ENT bend the canon pretty hard at times.
This isn't the main Theme of this reddit, so I won't rant too much - I laid it out on Trakt.tv several times (I'm Marc Friedolin there in case anyone wants to read it...)
There’s a great resource for guesstimating how long your voyage will take, and it’s also good for testing this strategy. You can find it here: https://codepen.io/somnivore/full/Nabyzw
I’d aim for about 6000 in primary and secondary and 4000 in the others. One thing that some people do is to sacrifice one skill for the others, so have one skill be 1000 or so in order to get the others to 4000. Since that skill only comes up 10% of the time, it usually has little effect during your voyage.
There's a link on the sidebar to the Voyage Length Estimator which basically does all this math for you.
They also have links to the data and ways to submit your outcomes to help improve the calculations.
