There's the first one fantranslated, just get an emulator and your good to go. Suikogaiden 2 is up on the site as well.
What? You don't have $579 laying around to buy it off amazon? Hee hee.
Emulator: http://www.epsxe.com/download.php

Here is a Castle guide, best I could find. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/198844-suikoden-ii/faqs/8411
Like Tenkou, Connell is also in the 3rd floor but his work is different from Tenkou, he changes sounds in the game and it is also collectable.
I don't normally recommend playing using an emulator but on this is scenario, it's the only choice unless your psx is still alive. You can download the game here https://cdromance.com/psx-iso/gensou-suiko-gaiden-vol-1-harmonia-no-kenshi-eng-patched/ that's already patched. Use any emulator you would prefer. If your psx is still alive, burn the ISO on a CD. You'll also see the second volume in the same website and it's also patched. Enjoy!
PCSX2 is pretty darn good nowadays. Just download the newest one! Quickly saving and loading states is handy if you're trying to farm a rare drop or think you're about to make a mistake.
Tip for IV: Get Viki ASAP. She will be your best friend.
and lastly if I could offer some advice, if you really want to dive into some heavy reading on Chinese classics, I'd recommend skimming through the The Analects, Mencius, The Art of War, and the Dao De Ching.
All 4 are fairly short reads, and can help give you some perspective on important influences in pre-modern China, even if not directly mentioned in the book Water Margin itself.
this illustration for the inside novel was by Yashioka Sho (八至丘翔), source is here
You can use "content management program" try this:
download: http://cma.dl.playstation.net/cma/win/en/index.html
If you run into an issue installing this find the older version, download it and it will update its self to the current version
The "perfect save file" I got from this thread http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/198844-suikoden-ii/70800419
The download has instructions on how to move the file to the ps vita. Hope that helps.
yeah but i mean to say Trails of cold steel because that was the one totally compared to suikoden as ive read an article comparing it to suikoden before on Kotaku
