It can be a terrifying way to go by the sounds of it.
I listened to the SYSK podcast on Cave Diving and one way you're likely to die if inexperienced is through disorientation and/or panic.
In the often pitch black cave it can be easy to lose track of where you are, and apparently even to know what is up and down. As well as this there can also be times where a cloud of silt will be all around you in the water completely obscuring visibility. In these situations not only do you have to be trained to know what to do, but you have to overcome the entirely natural urge to panic.
Shit really is scary.
That type of glove is called "polka dot gloves."
ExpressVPN and VyprVPN are pretty good. It's a good idea to search for "VPN" on r/China and sort by new. You'll find recent posts about people asking about VPNs.
SerpentZA is a nice YouTuber that will let you have an insight of life in China, and know and scams and stuff.
Collinsabroadcast is an entertaining basic negotiator.
Expect hot and humid weather this summer, get a small umbrella for random rain. [I'm Arab so their summer is my winter :P]
Hope you enjoy your stay there. I'll be there in 3 weeks and I'm really excited.
http://www.helipal.com/storm-racing-drone-gps-rtf-naza-v2.html. This will give a little insight and show you what they mean by custom. Siginigantly lighter, smaller, minimum components because you don't want a huge case over it for looks and the massive quad rotors on normal drones are too bulky. These guys are super powerful, crazy agile, and designed as you see to turn with crazy precision and speed.
Just for more comparison here's just a video drone off Amazon you can see the major design differences. https://www.amazon.com/Holy-Stone-Quadcopter-Adjustable-Intelligent/dp/B074YYVXQH?ref_=Oct_CAMWishedC_11910405011_2&pf_rd_r=7Y98R5R01MD7G6ZE2WJ7&pf_rd_p=ec71d1c2-3123-54a0-bc80-33eaa37770c2&pf_rd_s=mobile-hybrid-5&pf_rd_t=30901&...
Sure. This exact Via Ferrata was just posted in this sub in video form

You see how he snapped in both carabiners in the same direction ? You always want them opposing themselves because they work by squeezing to unclip. So if you squeeze both in a moment if panic you can accidentally unclip yourself. Much harder if not impossible to do if they're facing away from each other.

Check that out. It's pretty much a sure thing that the brain is the center of consciousness. Any idiot could tell you that from personal experience. It will be a bit before we can define it conclusively in a scientific context, but that is because of the innate difficulty in classifying what consciousness means.
> The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and riffle [sic] their pockets for new vocabulary.
Dude, the hiking on Oahu is no freaking joke. Even right next to the ocean there are some trails that somehow pack a pants-shitting level of fear into very little actual hiking distance. Those mountains are serrated knife edges with enough width on the edge for a single person to stand. Check out Pu'u Manamana Trail, that thing is ridiculous.
It is a hike. It’s 5 miles out and back. First half is switchbacks. Second half consists of climbing the edge using chains. If you’re afraid of heights it can be intimidating so I’d look up videos of the chains section to see if it’s something your comfortable with.
Here’s som info: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/angels-landing-trail
Bro, you're at kamehameha?! Amazing! I'd like to hear your opinion on kalani Roselle getting accepted... It's a talking point between my buddy and I.
Btw, he bought me this book after I left and I love it

I can't find the one from the video, but I think you're looking for "hanging monkey plush" toys. I searched "Velcro hands monkey toy" and found similar results, but Velcro is a brand name. Hook and loop might give you better results. Anyway, here's an Amazon link. I'm on my phone so this is the best I can do. Good luck! https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Republic-Chimpanzee-Stuffed-Hanging/dp/B00M24PNPO?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_4
Since I get so many enthousiast reactions: you know there's a game (sorry only found android link) about this?
I liked the first version. Apparently there are newer ones but I have no idea how they are
They make pants with a built in climbing harness. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some custom pants-harness company being used in Hollywood
This video is AI generated. the original photographs of this event were taken by photographer Robert Landsburg in the 1980's. he was unable to get video until after the eruption but was able to capture the eruption on his camera that was taking photos about once every 10 seconds. with those photos AI was able to fill in the gaps producing this video. its absolutely amazing how far technology has come since the 80's that we are even capable of creating video from only snippets of photo reel.
I honestly don’t know if the old TG episodes - especially way back from season 2, when James May joined - are available anywhere. But, if they are and you find them, you should watch them. It’s going to take a while; there are nearly 180 episodes of TG and most episodes were about an hour long.
Even if you just got DVDs of their specials/road trips, that would be something. There are 11 such episodes, and they are all fantastic.
Someone always posts this hateful garbage. It’s simply not true.
“All real marine biologists hate her” — Ocean Ramsey is a marine biologist. She also employs other marine biologists. Her bachelors in marine biology and her masters is in ethology, specifically shark ethology. And who do you think invited her to do a TED talk on shark conservation? Instagram followers? She runs a shark conservation non-profit. She promotes her non-profit on social media. That does not make her an “influencer”.
“she has no regard for shark feeding patterns, …” She has literally written a bookon shark behavior.
“She speaks as if she is trying to help” — she literally runs a 501c3 non-profit focused on ocean wildlife conservation and education. She lectures in schools and offers online educational courses. Her non profit also does wildlife ID and tracking. She collects and makes her data available to the scientific community. Besides her educational shark tours, her non-profit has also been involved in local ocean clean-up projects.
I’ve been diving with Ocean Ramsey’s non-profit. They do an excellent job. There are less than 6 tourists per boat (and 3 staff, including 1 scientist who lectured both going out and back in). Staff took great care to control human activity and prevent patrons from approaching sharks. Sharks were approached only at specific times and locations that have been deemed less impactful to shark populations.
I assure you, One Ocean Diving is not the only entity taking tourists out to see sharks (or other wildlife) in Hawai’i. But hers is by far the most responsible entity to do so.
But I don’t see you calling out the numerous cage tour operators who chum the water and purposely disrupt natural feeding, sleeping, and social patterns for actual profits and offer 0 educational or conservational value.
Do better.
Get these window locks, I have them and they work.

And get this camera, it also is cheap and works just fine for me.

For what it's worth, I'm not comfortable with them either. I got one of these though and now I always relocate them outside. They help keep my mosquitos and other nuisance bugs in check!
I'm reading the book Fuzz: when animals break the law. It's all about this idea of us walking into situations with animals and looking at it the wrong way
I mis-assigned something from one to the other. It was the blurry picture, and the first person's shoes looked like canvas. Sure, if you want to die in them.
I'd recommend not going straight to building. As it's a heavy investment and quite alot of technical skill is needed straight of the bat. This is a whoop try one of these first and see if you like it. later you can add a camera and use it with fpv goggles. Also when you do buy parts for a 5 inch quad dont skimp and buy bottom of the barrel they are frail and will give up in the first few crashes. We have this discord setting to help people with getting started.
If any of you are interested this book is considered the authority on bear encounters in North America. . A lot of interesting information and a great read.

About 5% survive the 75 mph impact from falling from the Golden Gate Bridge, although most of those people subsequently drown or die of hypothermia. I'm guessing some tiny percent might survive a 120 mph water landing, but not without significant trauma, and not without immediate rescue.
The problem is the extreme g forces experienced when you hit the water and your body decelerates rapidly. People say that hitting water at high speed is like hitting concrete. That's not quite right--hitting water is always going to be like hitting water. But the speed you hit at determines the amount of deceleration your body is going to experience, because drag is proportional to relative velocity. If you are travelling at a high speed, the forces of deceleration can be a high as hitting concrete at a slower speed. So your organs can be torn loose, your bones can shatter, your brain can slosh fatally in your skull. I've seen one rough estimation that hitting the water at 120 mph generates a 770 g deceleration. That seems to have a high probability to be fatal. (Like crashing a car without a seat belt at 55 mph.)
Streamlining your body helps reduce those forces when diving, but also increases your speed while falling through the air. The fancy twirl the guy does in this video illustrates a smart way to reduce falling speed (somewhat) while hitting the water at a survivable angle.
That's a good question. And, to be fair, while search and seizure are mostly constitutional issues (some states interpret their own constitutions more protectively than the US bill of rights, but mostly that's at least the benchmark), the difficulty of navigating a particular legal system varies from state to state, so maybe it's easier somewhere other than Kentucky. But I doubt it. The easiest solution would to be to not have to deal with the legal system at all because of a cop's whim, though.
I'm not a comparative legal scholar, though, just a former PD. Don't take my word for it - https://smile.amazon.com/dp/198572443X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_TG5ECWXSC31HXBBGB75Q.
Just finished the book Death in Grand Canyon. It describes every death in the canyon. Mules don't fall. People fall off of them.
Last year there was a pretty good write-up about him, and there's also a documentary that's fascinating.

For those interested you can buy a trainer (dull) Balisong/Butterfly knife from amazon for about 13$ I bought this one here https://www.amazon.com/Practice-Butterfly-Stainless-Balisong-Unsharpened/dp/B06XRCGCV8/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_200_tr_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JHV6GSWQK53GXVYZ0HDD and have been learning to use it while at my desk. Very fun but it certainly takes some patients and learning.
If you get a lot of ear wax, this thing works wonders. All you need is a little warm water and maybe a tiny bit of soap. It's the same exact thing they used in an urgent care I went to. It kinda feels good too.
It's expensive for what it is, (essentially a glorified water bottle) but there are generic brands that are much cheaper. That's just the original brand. You can also buy the tips on ebay from china for cheap.
Me too! Unfortunately the miners didn't write much down about their doings... but this book is EXCELLENT, gives the whole story of the mines and ghost towns in the area https://www.amazon.com/Monte-Cristo-Philip-Woodhouse/dp/0898860717
Wow, huge URL, sorry.... but anyway that's the 3 books in one, or you can get the individual books as I suspect this one is abridged. Read the chronicles twice but on reading the individual books I feel there were moments not contained in the all in one, even though I want to say it claims to be unabridged. Kwan Sai Hung, the protagonist will stick with you... As will Grandmaster and Hua mountain in general... A truly luscious read.
Get a bunch of them together. Bet $500 each you can prove it. Buy one of these and a GoPro. Send it up. Profit.
