Bless the little girl that sits at the Minnie table. She’ll be showing up to kindergarten like this.
Everyone do themselves a favor and get these.
I also adhere the power strip to the back of the tv or tv stand. Keeps everything hidden and off the floor.
Monoprice Above Fireplace Pull-Down Full-Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount Bracket For TVs 55in to 100in, Max Weight 154lbs, VESA Patterns Up to 800x600, Rotating, Height Adjustable Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077YB196D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_N10KEGABA7H8MBJ9SXD8
Gotta mount it with something that moves the TV down for viewing, eg: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Electric-Fireplace-Adjustable-Motorized/dp/B08B1XD86V/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=1FKVSO5FU6OUP&dchild=1&keywords=tv+mount+motorized+with+remote&qid=1626109756&sprefix=tv+mount+motor%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-3
If you do decide to mount your tv, this is the mount I bought and used. You have to mount it into wall studs obviously, but it is great quality and built like a tank. I worry less about it falling off the mount than having it fall off the shitty plastic stand that came with the TV.
And no, I have no association with the Mounting Dream brand other than being a very satisfied customer 😂
Designing can be so tricky when you're renting! Being limited on drilling holes sucks, I feel you. Depending on the terms of your lease, you might be able to drill a few holes if you patch them before you leave. You might look around for a ceiling mount like this. I don't know that any of them come as low as you want but one might: https://smile.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Adjustable-Ceiling-Monitor-200x200mm/dp/B001KPILLE/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=tv+stand+ceiling+mount&qid=1610550596&sprefix=tv+stand+ceiling&sr=8-6
Or I know you said there's not a lot of space in front of the TV for walking, but maybe a slim stand like this would be useful, then fill in the cubby with art: https://smile.amazon.com/PERLESMITH-Universal-Floor-Stand-Swivel/dp/B07TYZDGPR/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=tv+stand+floor&qid=1610550384&sr=8-3
Best of luck!
Here ya go! It's sold out in this link, but if you look at the style, Amazon has plenty of options like it
Put frame TV on easel stand (example linked below) and place in the corner with the two windows where the armchair is now.
It’s not terrible. But doesn’t the wire hider thing piss you off? It pisses me off! If you’re doing a hovering TV Mount, pay a few dollars for this:
There will be a room divider btwn the two that can retract and has chalkboard panels https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y5ZZGKQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_9?smid=A106OV2NHLTD48&th=1 this one to be exact.
And yes they get along that good. I cannot explain how great my children behave 95% of the time. We thought about this for a year before we started planning it. We made them earn it. No it won't be all day every day. We know what we're doing. Our kids have a lot and they are not spoiled. We're good parents and our kids are great people
Don't worry about centering the TV on the wall. Move the TV to the right so it's centered over your stand.
Cost may be an issue, but I don't like that entertainment stand. It's got a weird interaction with the shag carpet. I think a wood stand would look better with the color of your flooring. Not a huge deal though.
So anyways, move the TV to the right to center it above your entertainment stand.
On the left side of the TV, above the radiator, put a vertical and skinny piece of art. Or a plant that hangs down. It'll get decent light there if you do a plant, but you may not want to have to water one.
Could do a series of small square shelves on the left and put some trinkets. https://www.amazon.com/Pinnacle-Frames-Accents-Floating-Shelves/dp/B004U92KZ0/ref=asc_df_B004U92KZ0/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=192221430873&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10361659853909126148&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&...
Something like these in vertical series.
Amazon. We found it on Wayfair but Amazon had it cheaper
I bought a Meross Led strip from Amazon (Meross on Amazon). It's HomeKit compatible, so I have programmed it to go on and off with the TV. Can then dim it with the phone.
To make it look extra clean I bought something like this (Aluminium profile) to mount it in. Looks clean from the side.
yes. the vertical center of the tv should match your direct eyeline while you're sitting in your recliner without moving your eyes or neck. it should go down at least 2 ft.
buy something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Fireplace-Height-Adjustable-Spring/dp/B09M7X16WW
Does this whole sub not know about "Fireplace Wallmounts" ‽ It mounts above the fireplace, and allows the TV to be pulled into a down position for better viewing height.
That's the kit I helped install at my brother's condo https://www.amazon.com/DATA-COMM-Electronics-Cable-Management/dp/B00JJ57CR6
Hardwiring an actual outlet would have required an electrician as per the rules
TV's kinda small for the distance from where you're sitting... and way too high.
Not sure why it's out so far from the wall... I would opt for a mount that's more flush to the wall. And buy some cable management channelling, which can be painted to match the colour of the wall.
FTHB, not yet moved in. We'd probably use the fireplace in the winter. Would this mount work well as most of the year the fireplace would be unused?
https://www.amazon.com/MantelMount-MM540-Above-Fireplace-Mount/dp/B01N5JMX8G
Before you spend an hour putting everything into that wire loom then another hour taking it out because you needed to move something, may i suggest hook and loop straps instead? They are as convenient and quick as zip ties, but also reusable for years and years.
Helix wire loop is OK if you have a permanent bundle of wires that needs to be bound together over a short run, handled as a unit, then never touched again. But even wrapping 1 or 2 meters of cable with the stuff is time consuming and frustrating while you manage to not catch the trailing end on the wire bundle on EVERY. SINGLE. TURN.
My suggestion for working from the recliner? laptop with WiDi and a TV that supports it. i work from the couch on a middle of the road, nothing special, Dell Latitude. And even the integrated Intel HD video card has wireless display capabilities. As it turns out, so does my Samsung flat screen, so when i need more real estate than i have in my lap, its as easy as Win+P and connect to a wireless display.
Perfect! Now run the cable behind the wall. It's super easy with a kit like this. Remember you can't just run your TV's power cable behind the drywall. That would not be up to code. (HDMI is ok)
totally ghetto. elegant would be one tv with a multiview switcher.

You do realize how easy it is to fix the left/right issues, right? I loosen two screws (which are only finger tight right now, anyway) and slide it over.

I didn't realize this was r/tvnotcentered
I got it for 160 last week but it seems to have gone up to 250. It was a STEAL for for 160 because it looks fabulous in person (although mine shipped with a bit of cosmetic damage, nothing wood filler couldn't fix though)
Just FYI I had to mount a 2 by 4 to the wall behind it because its plenty wide enough for a 70 inch tv, but its not deep enough for me to feel comfortable putting a tv with 13.1 inch legs on.
Oh shoot! Didn't realize that. I think they replaced it with a Motorized variety. If you want to go big baller status! Lol.
ah thanks! I love old homes. I wish I could do a corner stand, my husband is particular about viewing the TV straight on to get best view, colors and whatnot. and I don't have the space to have my couch angled. But yeah I can see how it is comically low lol. I'm thinking a mount, like this under the window would maybe let me keep the TV pulled up and would make it just a little bit higher and less weird than directly below.
Something like this might do the job. It connects to the wall mount holes on the back of the TV, but instead of the other end being connected to the wall, it mounts onto this stand. Most of them are height adjustable, too. Like this one has 9 different height positions.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XLMQ39D?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
This looks like it could be easily fixed with a mantle mount

Rotate room 90 degrees. Get a nice low TV stand something like this. Move shoes to bedroom, den, ect.
I have a TV set at the right hight and 3 small kids. last year my 3 year old smashed TWO 65" tvs. Problem is, moving it up wouldn't help because the first was a wooden toy brook that she whacked the tv with the handle end, and the other was a flying wooden car. TV height doesnt matter with flying toys. aggrivatingly enough I had to buy one of these things, which so far, has protected the tv. I figured better a $400 fucking protector than another $800 tv.

Honestly kind of cheap.
This is swing down ceiling mount. When you want to watch, the TV swings down to a “normal” watching angle. Similar to this one………. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071KG6HT2?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_K6QDE26TFPGBXVV44Z1G

Terrible layout feng shui. You don't have any really good options. They make tv stands that look like art easels. You could try something like that in the corner where the ladder is. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TCDKKDW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Y1DPAENQTX13B1V28573

I use this on our bedroom TV that sits on our dresser to give it some extra height above the soundbar so it doesn’t block the screen at all. It’s height adjustable so you can set it the height you need and is very stable.
Can't say I really recommend it because it's got a pretty big burn-in fade thing going on and it's getting bigger. I've had it for only a year and a half.
This pic is old so it's not there in this pic.

I feel like you're not doing it any justice by projecting onto a wall. Buy a projector screen. You can get one for under $300 and it is WELL worth it.

Dude, as someone who has been using projectors for the past 15 years, and started out like you (on the wall), get a screen. The improvement is quite noticeable.
And they're not crazy-expensive. You can get one for around $57 as a starter.
A large amount of the heat given off by a gas fireplace is infrared light, not just the hot air. I would wager the TV would be better above than out in front.
If you have a switch on the wall for your gas fireplace, I recommend replacing it with something like this, and keep the key hidden from children and guests. It makes sure that the act of turning on the fireplace is done thoughtfully by someone who understands the risks involved with the TV placement.
I think if you replaced your furniture is would look way better/probably be ok. Get a slightly taller sideboard/buffet piece and get rid of the two bookcases smushed on either side. something along these lines
It moves easily, but it's still annoying to have to do it frequently. That said, for the same price, there's a motorized fireplace mount that makes it literally effortless, especially if you tie it into Adobe kind of automation that moves the TV into place automatically when it turns on.

I honestly have never heard what the recommendations are for soundbar height. I will say that my Sonos Arc is like probably a foot below my ear level, but it's due to my TV shelf having the perfect spot just for it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2T9BX4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and yes I have it pulled far forward so there's no blockage of the side firing speakers. It sounds great to me.

I'm assuming and I hope its this.
We got an aftermarket stand and love it! Hides cables, swivels making it easy to access the back if/when needed and my wife likes it more since she can tilt it to her couch lol https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VPHLPX3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No one really giving you the answer as by your parameters. Personally I would put so the bottom edge is fairly close to the fireplace. Like maybe 6 to 10 inches above. Another option is one of those mounts that can lower the tv for watching, like Mantelmount
Here's the stand I have and have been using two years and I love it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QYLSWCK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
She might need the next model up since that TV looks bigger than 55", but you get the idea.
One thing I never see on here is the roll cart TV stand that I bought on Amazon. They are great and she could place it in front of that fireplace and roll it out of the way if she actually ever decides to use the fireplace. Here's the one I have, and it even has a little shelf for her laptop on the foot stool if she is so inclined. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QYLSWCK/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would look into those cable tracks that are pretty deep with multiple slots for cables to go in and out of, and then get a cable track to conceal your hdmi and ethernet cable going to the tv.

How about putting something like this vertical. Without drilling holes, fully hiding the wires is not possible but using white channels, it’s easier to draw attention away from them and keep them organized.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Legrand-Wiremold-Cordmate-II-Cord-Cover-Kit-White-C210/202264878
But you can also use a powerbridge to hide all wiring if you’re uncomfortable with doing your own electric. This will be the best looking option
Haha, should cost too much.
I've had a lot of success with this and a few velcro ties.
There's this

But yeah the old houses are all built around having the fireplace as the centerpiece, even if you live in an area that will never use it.
Get the oled and this will bring it about 45" closer https://www.amazon.com/FORGING-MOUNT-Extension-Articulating-Compatible/dp/B089RD1YB3/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3QX4BV9CD2YZ6&keywords=forging+mount+long+arm+tv+mount&qid=1637610651&sprefix=forging+mount%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-3
I sit roughly the same distance away from a 55 and it's massive from that distance. 65 would feel huge.
Tie best option if no other wall is a “pull down” or “over mantle mount” like this … Mantle Mount
Assuming there is not a better room and unlimited budget, I'd offer a few suggestions.
1) If tv is your best option: https://www.amazon.com/MantelMount-MM340-Above-Fireplace-Mount/dp/B01MS1MHET there are other mounts, and I'm not saying this is the best one for you, but this is doable.
2) Projector. I'd recommend an ambient light rejecting screen (ALR) given how bright that room is.
Are you sure you can do that with cable boxes? They're just like regular Comcast boxes or whatever? I haven't had cable in a while, but I thought they were just RF remotes (that you have to point at the box), no pairing involved... unless "unpairing" means delete the code programmed into the "CBL" button on the remote, and then re-pairing it creates a new code (not the default)?
If they can actually be unpaired and re-paired then that's the best option. If not (or if he wants to use 1 remote for all 3 boxes), he could get 3x of these IR extenders (if they're compatible with his cable boxes), then put them far enough apart that you can only point the remote at 1 at a time.
Dude. Spend $11 and problem solved
You can get little plastic things LIKE THIS and run the cords from the top to the bottom
Everyone do themselves a favor and get these.
I also adhere the power strip to the back of the tv or tv stand. Keeps everything hidden and off the floor.
I don't think I could paint an image clear enough with words for you to really get the idea. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J1S6YHW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_DFXTBJJQWCW8QW15PFXD
That's a listing for them. They collapse in one direction and then expand as soon as the wing clears the hole. They're really great for mounting anything heavy in a hollow wall.
Easy. There are mounts that pull down that you can easily let you put it to the perfect height when watching but back to the convenient position of above the mantle when you’re done.
