This seems to be a false alert. The state's air quality monitoring stopped recording data on Oct 8. for Leon County. And when looking at sites they all say "no data" for the main pollutant which is highly suspicious. If some pollutant or allergen was really causing a reading 10x higher than it was last week it should be obvious what it is.

Any bit of natural Florida you can find will be amazing.
Check Trailahassee, hit some of the trails, and you'll see plenty.
This site ranks the trails for birding, but you'll notice it's most of the trails in Tallahassee... https://www.alltrails.com/us/florida/tallahassee/birding

Wait, people actually pay money to go get caroled at? Ew.
On another note, have you considered something like a Patreon? Aside from all of us that appreciate (and get a ton of use out of) these posts, it'd be nice for your trivia regulars that always want to tip but never remember to bring cash!
I used Whole House Handyman to put together some furniture recently! I found them on Thumbtack (similar to task rabbit), but just emailed them to schedule since I didn’t know if Thumbtack took a commission out of their final total or anything. They were great! About half an hour late because they were finishing up another job, but they kept me updated via text so it was fine. It cost $80 for them to put together a 6 drawer dresser, two drawer nightstand, and to mount/hang two curtain rods. They took PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, card, check, etc. I would definitely recommend them!
Edit: Welcome to Tallahassee!
For those who really want to nerd out — an old friend’s mom wrote a book about The Grove. I think it’s out of print now, but you can find used copies on Amazon and eBay. Definitely a unique and beautiful part of Tallahassee (and Florida!) history.
I know of 2 females in my yard (they tend to stay alone). One near my front door and one near the road. They are amazing little insects but man that stinger is so huge and their angry noise is loud. Here is a picture that I took when I was mowing.
She doesn't have a shop other than the restaurant she works at, but Ginna Raymer is the pastry chef over at Sage, and she consistently makes some of the most amazing baked sweets I've ever had in my life.
I've heard that she does custom orders for parties and birthdays.
Would you be able to help make sure I am getting the right part?
I checked some autostores sites but the prices were really high so I looked on RockAuto and got the OEM part numbers but it seemed a few were listed...
So this is my best guess so far:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079W7K6VK/ref=crt_ewc_img_huc_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A34668PDYO45KB
I mostly just want to make sure I am reliably looking at the correct OEM number.. but not sure where to most reliably find that information.
I really appreciate your help! As a woman I am pretty used to how mechanics can be - that is why I try to go in their armed with some amount of knowledge. But then I bought a new car back in 2015 so I am way off my game now and newer cares are so much different than the old 90s cars I had prior.
There are plenty you can get on Amazon with free prime delivery:
It's predicted to be a very cold winter. If your home is drafty, I suggest cardboard or visqueen plastic sheeting to cover the windows. For the doors you can eliminate drafts by using a towel and bunching it up around the bottom of the door. Or you can purchase them https://www.amazon.com/Weighted-Stopper-Saving-Energy-Blocker/dp/B08LFX57HJ?th=1
It really makes a difference in the interior home temperature.
I have a down jacket (LL Bean), gloves, scarf and wool cap. Today's temp wasn't that bad. For the most part the cold is short lived. You may want to get a scrapper for the ice that will form on your windshield. Know how to deal with/prevent frozen pipes too.
My personal favorite thing is the electric mattress pad. Turn it on while getting ready for bed and sleep in a cozy, warm bed. (It's predicted to snow here this winter. Usually no more than flurries that don't stick)
If you get over-stimulated by noise and too many people, does going outdoors interest you? You can check out Meetup.com for outdoors groups (hiking, etc...) and there are probably clubs at FSU and places like "Outdoor Pursuits" that have day trips to week long trips. I find that "being stuck together" somewhere (whether it's work, volunteering, in my old military reserve unit, at workshops, etc...) is a great opportunity for me to meet and interact with people.
I'm not a fan of CCleaner. You need a directory tool that will tell you what folders are taking up the most space. My go to is WinDirStat it's a small application that shows you what directories are taking up the most space. The eisiest place to install it from is https://ninite.com/ watch a couple YouTube videos on how to use it.
>do you know when the rain will come? and how long?
https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/fl/tallahassee/32309
Looks like possibly some rain tonight, but lots all day tomorrow and up through Thursday morning.
For real, this storm has already killed one person, and is expected to bring heavy winds and rain, with possible flooding and tornadoes. Be safe, everyone.
Here's the important parts from the link:
Also the usual advice - don't drive through a flooded portion of a road, take steps to prepare to be without power for hours or even days, avoid driving during the worst portion of the storm, etc.
Not an electrician, but if your issue is crimping together 5 wires, wouldn't a wago connector take care of the problem?

Not OP, but I had a roof rat infestation that I dealt with, and I believe my methods would work with squirrels, too.
1: buy LED strobe lights ("strobe cannons") and dial them to slightly different frequencies. They go for about $35 on Amazon. Don't waste your money on the $300+ rodent repellent ones -- these work fine. You will need several. I put 10 in my attic. 2. Place bluetooth speakers in attic. Play loud music. My attic rats did not like slipknot at all. 3. After a few days of attic rodent rave, seal seal the entrances the squirrels used. 4. Inspect wiring in attic for damage. Rodents + wires = fire.
I also put out live traps and non-live traps. Caught quite a few. The strobes keep them out now.
I ended up getting the Rove R2-4K based off a friend's recommendation. It was ~$80. There's a few quirks to it that you can change in settings, the biggest of which is that by default it only records in ~3 minute chunks which you can change to be based on 4GB filesize instead (which gets me about 25-27 minutes).
Let your landlord know. I have used an ozone generator to eliminate smells like this.
I also decided to get a dash cam after experiencing the traffic here, I bought a cheap $30-$40 off brand cam from Amazon and it’s been holding up fine for years and it’s 1080 crystal clear picture. You just have to buy a couple of micro SD cards to switch out when it fills up every few weeks or so. Here’s an example of a good cheap dash cam Dash Cam 1080P Full HD, 2 Mounting Options, On-Dashboard Camera Video Recorder Dashcam for Cars with 3" LCD Display, Night Vision, WDR, Motion Detection, Parking Mode, G-Sensor, 170° Wide Angle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09L8DN8FX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_CTVWAMN8BVCPJ7GQ0K2N
Go here and download Virtualbox for OSX hosts. Install it and then use it to install the latest CentOS and Debian or Lubuntu images and mess with them to start. Take a snapshot after you first install the OS and then mess with it trying different stuff. If you mess it up, roll it back to the previous successful snapshot. If you're in a programming class, try setting up your programming environments in virtual machines with Linux as the OS. It's a great way to keep disparate (and often complex) development environments clean and separate (I have one for Java, one for PHP and one (Windows VM) for C# projects and some for other one-off stuff or demos I try out).
CentOS and one of the Debian distributions are the two main ones I encounter at work and it can be helpful to learn both YUM and Apt package managers and other different components. You can also tinker with projects like the Raspberry Pi, which can run off it's "native" Raspbian (Debian) OS or can run off of ARM-compatible CentOS.
I know very little about Macs, but one of the benefits of Linux is that it runs off of any commodity hardware, from the cheapest machines to some of the most expensive. I use it at home (I'm on a Lubuntu machine right now).
There's some groups at Meetup.com that seem like they match your interests. Other than that, hit up dog parks, Railroad Square, Proof for dog friendly places and Lofty Pursuits for board games. I'm pretty sure several groups meet there for board game nights. If you like outdoor activities, check out /r/850outdoors/

Winter isn't over. Our average last freeze date is Mar 21. And I have data from my home weather station showing freezes every year in March.
You can also go back through that data and see that having a day in the mid 80s in Jan/Feb is not unusual. Yes today's 85.8 is higher than last years 85.5 but you aren't feeling that difference.
It was actually almost exactly this warm on Feb 22 last year. The high was 83, and it's 81 here right now. Last year's 83 degrees is actually the record high for today's date. Here's the archival data
But you're also right, this is atypical. The average high for Feb 22nd in Tallahassee is 69 degrees.
CSS can go from really easy to pretty complicated. I would suggest not to get too bogged down if you get stuck on one particular thing. a beginner javascript course will be more general and apply general programming practices that can be used in any language (logic branching, loops, comparing values, etc.) I also like javascript b/c you can run it in any browser so it is immediately visible and no special programs needed (although having some can help make your life easier.) Try to download visual studio code as your programming editor. its free and it supports a ton of languages. https://code.visualstudio.com/
Gym: The Leach Fitness Center is part of FSU, but you can enroll even if you aren't a student
Cycling: There are a lot of trails around the city. San Luis trails comes to mind since I used to stay in that area, but this link should be handy
Sushi:On the cheaper side, there's Sumo Sabi which I absolutely love! There's also Nagoya and Masa
Fish: There's Mike's Seafood and some other other Asian stores which sell fresh fish
As for hangout spots, your best bet would be the pubs near midtown (Wine Loft, The Brass Tap). Good luck and welcome to Tallahassee!
the radar is on top of the NWS building on the FSU campus:
The NASA site for 2014 isn't up yet. The local sites for the 2013 event have been removed from the old site but here's a archive of the Tallahassee event site: https://web.archive.org/web/20131010051723/http://2013.spaceappschallenge.org/location/tallahassee/.
You can find out more about Making Awesome by stopping by tonight or any Wednesday evening during our open house.
You can give cats dye-free Benadryl as well (not the pink kind). 1mg per lb of body weight. You can even get flavored liquid formulated for dogs and cats.

Just checked and the trial SIM is $5 at Best Buy with pickup available today, or apparently $1 at Amazon if you have Prime: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0786RD524/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_C4YYJT68MMD3MKH9MP6J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I actually use two antennas these days.
Originally I was going to have a roof mounted one with a preamp but the pre amp was gonna require me to run a new (or splice in) a 15a box/plug to power it.
Me being lazy as fuck, I just put up a second antenna to catch pbs in a good enough fashion.
It does require me to have a second hdhomerun as well. But it works and allows my kids shows to have their own dedicated tuners anyhow.
I basically use this guy
Facing north south
And thus guy east west
Check out some screw extractor kits. I’ve used them successfully before.

Keep in mind that if you are using Sling a lot, it's going to absolutely eat into your 1TB data cap (currently suspended iirc, but still something to think about). I was streaming DirecTV Now a couple years ago and it was eating 400-500GB/month just from watching in the evenings and a bit on weekends. If you don't have the unlimited data add-on and you use a lot of other data, it's something to think about.
That said, I have a TP-Link TC-7610 modem and a TP-Link C7 Archer router that I use on the 200Mbps tier with Xfinity. I've had them for 4 years now and have had no issues and paid $100 for the set. If you pay attention to Amazon Goldbox sales your can usually find networking stuff about once a month (probably less frequently right now due to COVID-19).
A lot of people tend to go for Arris Surfboard modems, but I absolutely hate them and Belkin. You can find a Surfboard for as low as $30 for a refurbished modem from time to time. Your budget of $125 would allow you to get, for example, this Motorola modem for $60 and this TP-Link Router for $65 and be right at $125 + tax. And that's without shopping around (just going off currently popular items on Amazon).
Here's a$60 bidet seat from Amazon that has 9000 reviews. Never buy TP again
My understanding is that Comcast loans our routers.
Those routers are programmed to create hot spots for other Comcast customers and basically piggyback on that network.
Eventually, it may log you out and you’ll have to sign in again. And maybe Comcast notices she’s logged in while also at home on the other side of the city.
Chances are, you’re fine in the short term. Long term, usually those speeds aren’t very strong and only good for maybe checking e-mail, but suck for downloading anything since the connection is unreliable.
From a security checkpoint, it’s super shady because Comcast can monitor anything on that network.
If I wanted to steak credit cards, I’d just go to an apartment complex or coffee shop, setup a free WiFi and record everything you type.
If you’re committed to using that kind of setup, use a VPN. A VPN basically uses the WiFi connection and scrambles the content between your computer and the end destination. That way, Comcast can’t spy on what you’re watching.
They cost as little as $3 a month. There are companies like NordVPN that are reliable.
However, be careful. If you use a free service, they may just take the info and sell it. Facebook did just that and gave away a free VPN program and just stole data from people that they thought was secure.
Here is one for 20, you're right though, couldn't find a cheaper one.
It's this one (though it's not motorized).
You'd have to get it this weekend though. I'm going out of town Tuesday and my lease on the apartment where it's at ends while I'm gone.
You can pay with credit card using their E+ Mobile app. $4 - $5 fee for the average bill. Not sure if your rewards >= the fee.
