You really ought to be looking at a 55" for that distance. TV size is purely a function of viewing distance.
TCL isn't a bad option but they're having some quality issues so you may need to be prepared to utilize the warranty. Alternatively, I'd go with a refurb Vizio M55 from Groupon for $499.
Looks like Walmart is competitive with the lowest prices out there $1297.99
If you like curved screens, you can save about $200 more with the ks8500.
I would be remiss if I didn't at least point you in the direction of /r/HomeTheater for the audio. They are very down on sound bars, preferring an AV receiver and speakers.
Personally I think that you'd be better off buying something refurbished. Here's the list from Walmart under $300. https://www.walmart.com/browse/electronics/all-tvs/40-49-/3944_1060825_447913/dHZfc2NyZWVuX3NpemVfcmFuZ2VfbmV3OjQwIiiAtIDQ5Igieie?page=3&sort=price_low&cat_id=3944_1060825_447913&max_price=300&facet=tv_screen_size_range_new:40%22%2...
I'd recommend the Vizio E series from 2015 (1080P). They were very well rated. And you'll get the same 1 year warranty that a new set gets, so you reduce your risk a bunch.
I am guessing a 4k 32" TV is basically pointless (vs. 1080p) as the screen is too small to notice any difference unless your face is like a foot away from the screen. There is a reason they don't make them.

The new 2017 55" TCL P Series. 72 zone FALD, WCG, DolbyVision HDR, ultra low 15ms lag, built in Roku. There is a reason it is the #1 new item on Amazon. At its special intro price of $599 it is hard to find anything close that delivers the same performance. Amazon is saying 2-3 months, but TCL is saying mid June for shipping. Worth a look if you are not in a hurry.
Costco is currently running a special on the 55" B7P for $1799 that includes a 3 year warranty for free on top of already doubling the factory warranty, for 5 years of total warranty coverage. I picked up a 55" B7P last weekend - very impressed so far! This is my first modern TV and I can't believe how good OLED looks - glad I went with the B7. I was debating waiting too, but there's always going to be something better right around the corner - I'd get the C7 if you think you'll be happy with it.
Don't let HDMI 2.1 hold you off - 4K content is just now becoming available - we're still quite some time away from needing the increased bandwidth of HDMI 2.1.
You can also pickup a refurbished 55" B7A on Amazon with a 2 year warranty for $1499: https://www.amazon.com/LG-OLED-Smart-Extended-Warranty-Refurbished/dp/B074QQHPKP
The C7 and B7 are identical except for the stand and trim color - I'm happy with my B7.
im starting to look but i think its hit and miss with converting analog to digital input lag speaking. this tv https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YXH57B8/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_5?smid=A1DBFBMEE74TRM&psc=1 i believe can do 240p just plugging component into the back. im probably going to buy that TV is i cant fix mine but even that samsung has 1/4th the ports compared to my sony! im going to have to buy component switches and an hdmi switch just to equal what i have now! i miss old HDTV's! my dads HDTV from 2010 has S-Video on it! talk about something you will never see again on a modern TV lulz!
The LG authorized dealer BuyDig is selling 65" C8 for $2,249, if you want to buy now instead of waiting for BLack Friday.

[So I ended up getting this bad boy]https://www.amazon.com/HQRP-TH-50PZ80Q-TH-50PZ80U-TH-50PZ850U-TH-50PZ85U/dp/B0116ZPDCC/ref=sr_1_3?crid=QPGGC9LF8ZL6&keywords=remote+TH-50PZ85U&qid=1659640151&s=electronics&sprefix=remote+th-50pz85u%2Celectronics%2C87&sr=1-3. Just got it in the mail today. All buttons work like a charm. Range is good. It's also smaller and lighter than the Panasonic one. We'll see how long it lasts. Just wanted to let you know how it worked out since you took plenty of time to help a bro out. Thanks :)
How likely do you think something like this would work. My model number is there and a cheap, fast delivery, brand new, order from amazon would solve everything. Literally all I care about is a remote with a working power button.
Your best bet is getting a VESA mount. My Vizio has feet on the ends and I wanted something in the middle. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TGYB4F1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GWYX1YXA6SHS4E9FDZ8Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Or this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HE1IVNA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DPP8HYPNKH00NJ4J03TS
If you aren't going to go with the new 42" OLED from LG or Sony then the Sony X85J is the next best 43" model available. If you don't feel like spending Sony money then the TCL 4-series is as good as anything else at that size that isn't OLED or the X85J.

pretty good Set for $300
Collecting data is pretty common nowadays but you can use dns blockers like /r/pihole (https://pi-hole.net) on your network to block any such requests.

I literally just struggled with a similar debate, and chose the PN60F8500. I am a plasma guy to begin with, which is definately one of the main reasons I chose this set. In the recent value electronics TV shoot out they put the basically 2 year old F8500 against some OLED's and it did surprisingly well. For a 1080P set, which is where most of our video content is, it is by far the best TV I have ever seen. I've had the pleasure of working around alot of TV's for awhile and this set has always been amazing.
I'm a big gamer, which was another reason to go plasma for me. I've never been afraid of burn in, as my 5 year old panasonic has more World of Warcraft hours on it than a lot of people have viewing hours on their tv, and it has never been an issue. There is input lag on the F8500 series TV while in game mode, but there is a work around for it, you can find it with an easy google search (pretty sure its covered in CNETS most recent review of the set).
Hockey being my favorite sport by far, has always been amazing to watch on any plasma i've owned, and none of them are even remotely close to the level of the F8500. In general I have yet to encounter an LED or LCD, perform anywhere near the plasma's for sports.
One thing not to overlook on the F8500 is it is one of the best TV's money can buy for a bright room. Well at least its one of the best plasma's for sure.
I love 4k picture when the content is available, and do appreciate the modest upscaling of these sets, I just figured that by the time I replaced the F8500, 4k and maybe even OLED will be in a price range that is attainable for me.
If you have never checked out the CNET review on this particular set, I would highly recommend it.
All of the Big 4 (Sony, Samsung, LG, Vizio) sets have 4k Upscaling, as does the TCL ROKU 55". In fact I'm not sure that there are any 4K sets that don't have upscaling...
OP I'd recommend this set, at just a bit over your $400 budget. https://www.walmart.com/ip/TCL-55US57-55-4K-Ultra-HD-2160p-120Hz-Roku-Smart-LED-HDTV/53320694#about-item
It will be a good first TV for you, with a super smart platform. Save up your dollars, there is some cool stuff coming in the future, and TV's will be even cheaper for good quality.
This is the TV I've been planning on getting: https://www.walmart.com/ip/48194208?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222228036987187&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=83872702952&wl4=aud-261800281660:pla-164470476992&wl5=9013003&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&a...
I know it's less than what I said my budget would be, but it's the best I saw before I started considering 4K, so my budget would still be ~$600-$650 plus tax , maybe even $700+tax if need be.
You can check some of the blackfriday websites and phone apps that have the black fridays advertisement beforehand. I like skickdeals @ https://slickdeals.net/blackfriday/?icid=bf+mega+menu and https://www.theblackfriday.com/
If you add it to your Amazon wishlist (and turn on notifications), you should get a message if it goes sale on Amazon.
Im looking for a deal too on a 65" Samsung 4K LED, but I don't see it on any of the BF ads. Good luck!
>How about even with hdmi 1.4 you dont think that 4k is worth buying, you still get upscalings and what ive heard they are supposingly working really well.
http://www.cnet.com/news/why-ultra-hd-4k-tvs-are-still-stupid/
The biggest questions you'll need to answer are 1) how far will I be sitting from my TV? 2) what is the room lighting most often like when I was my TV?
I really don't think that 4k TVs are particularly useful at the moment. Firstly, there's very little content at all that is available to watch it true, native 4k. Secondly, even if we assume that there is content available, the benefit of added resolution is entirely dependent on screen size and viewing distance (as argued in the article). Most people aren't in a position to really benefit from 4k to begin with, even if they had true 4k content to watch.
If you decide to pull the trigger on the OLED55C6P I would recommend you to take advantage of this deal which will only run until the end of today. It's the best deal available and it's also by an LG authorized dealer. You honestly can't go wrong.
I wonder if there's any subtitles that are designed in mind to go at the black bars, E.g. You can download subnsitles for movies from this site maybe there's custom one thatre placed ojn the black bars? https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/subs
https://www.crunchyroll.com/devices
Cheapest add-on option is a Chromecast or Roku which can be had for $20-25. They have Roku and Chromecast built in TCL and Vizio TVs so I would assume they’d have crunchyroll as well.
Not when you check slickdeals periodically! They're on sale every now and then for $2299-$2399!
If you read through the comment section, you can see that a few days ago he link was indeed pulling up the 6300. For some reason it has begun pulling up the 6920 and some folks have had trouble getting target employees to recognize the difference.
The Bluetooth thing would scare me away. I use headphones nightly. If you can look passed it, apparently the 6920 is going to be even cheaper @$500 starting on the 29th. https://slickdeals.net/f/9686032-55-samsung-un55ku6290-4k-uhd-hdr-smart-led-hdtv-499-99-target-1-29-2-4?src=catpagev2
PERLESMITH Universal TV Stand Table Top TV Stand for 37-55 inch LCD LED TVs - Height Adjustable TV Base Stand with Tempered Glass Base & Wire Management, VESA 400x400mm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077MJZ6ZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PXT2J38NHQJPY6KSAVMG
Buy something like that and then it won’t matter what size the TV is because the stand will be in the middle!
I'd spend a couple hundred more and get the Hisense 55H8G for 800 bucks, but you can get the TCL 55S535 for $550 right now.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that the mounting brackets in the back of the TV were DESIGNED to support the entire weight of the TV - and at a few odd angles too.
If I was put in a hypothetical situation where I had to lift a heavy TV out of my comfort zone - I would buy a cheap and stationary wall mount designed for the TV... Maybe something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NLLCP2G/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Z0K10MPQPSNKSPZN0XCY
You don't have to actually mount it to a wall... but at least you'd have some additional hand grips and you don't have to rely on only pecs to gorilla grip the TV. You'd be able to hold it tight and close and then use your legs to lift.
Still working on this problem. Wanted to ask if you ever considered using a corner mount like this? Seems these corner mounts are typically much cheaper.
Yea about halfway, it's 23" out. The mount itself is very sturdy, the only requirement is wood studs or concrete that you're mounting it on. It's also rated to 150lbs so most modern tv's will fall well below that.
Edit: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08MZDLVZS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share this is the one I'm using
look if it has hole in the back mesueres in MMs the get something like this vesa stand
Years and years ago I bought an expensive TV ($1800) and it happened to have 120Hz. Loved it for movies, except it didn’t have great black levels. The blacks looked a little gray, which means the image didn’t punch.
4-5 years ago it broke due to accident, so I went to Costco and we bought the cheapest TV in our size, a really nice Sony for the money. It had a great picture, decent black levels, but movies seemed odd...jittery. Just not as smooth. That’s when I had a Keyser Soze moment and realized the cheaper TVs don’t have 120Hz.
That motivated me to research the issue and that’s how I learned about 60Hz vs 120, and 3:2 pull down (which you want to avoid by buying the native 120hz panel).
Ever since then I’ve haunted the halls of Reddit warning anyone that will listen to never buy 60Hz panel televisions, and so I implore your father to heed my ghostly warnings.
Here’s the link to the TCL 6-Series:
TCL 55" 6-Series 4K UHD Dolby Vision HDR QLED Roku Smart TV - 55R635 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0885F5GMP
There is one knock against it, otherwise it would be the perfect TV; it doesn’t have HDMI 2.1. If it did, then it could do 4K @ 120Hz gaming with the new Xbox Series X. Don’t know if you need a gaming TV, but shouldn’t be an issue for now since most next-Gen games can’t go past 60Hz anyway.
One more thing. Some of these sales pages lie about refresh rate. They’ll say things like “Refresh Rate: Natural Motion 480 or 240 or 120.” That’s all lies. Gotta look for it to say “Native 120hz” which the TCL 6-Series is, but the 5 and 4 series are not. Same goes for browsing other TVs at Costco/Amazon/Best Buy. Look for “Native 120hz Panel” somewhere in the tech specs.
No I have wires threaded behind drywall. I found the solution though. Actiontec MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter for Ethernet Over Coax (2 Pack) – 1 Gbps Ethernet, Coax to Ethernet Adapter, Enhanced Streaming and Gaming (Model: ECB6250K02) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B088KV2YYL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_XqZ5FbYA59PFZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Series 6 is not available in Australia on Amazon unfortunately.
I found the listing though, and it has the same problem. I doesn't say the screen resolution in the specs, only the "scanner resolution" is listed as 4k.
https://www.amazon.com.au/TCL-Class-Dolby-Vision-Smart/dp/B07V5WY147
Any idea why that is? Also, if you've got it, does it seem to be a higher resolution to you?
Any size preference?
This one on amazon. Get this one.
TCL 49S405 49-Inch 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart LED TV (2017 Model)
I looked at that one and almost pulled the trigger. I ended up going to for the 6 series on the prime deal right now on amazon due to people saying picture quality , Brightness, and blacks being much better for just a couple hundred dollars difference. Still cost less then that Samsung I was about to purchase before I heard such good things about TCL.

I got the 55" version due to my distance from sitting area to TV.
You can buy a centered tv base on Amazon for like $50. Most of them also swivel 30 degrees left and right. Here is one under $35:
https://www.amazon.com/PERLESMITH-Swivel-Universal-Stand-Base/dp/B07TK2KWVJ
Last year I bought a LG 43UM7300PUA https://www.amazon.com/LG-43UM7300-43UM7300PUA-Class-Renewed/dp/B07YGLJ11M/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1C5XEK278E9XR&dchild=1&keywords=lg+um7300pua&qid=1601510142&sprefix=LG+UM7300%2Caps%2C196&sr=8-4
I use it 80% as a computer monitor it is amazing. I recommend you have a min of a GTX 1070 or a GTX 1660 super video card when using this flat screen tv
check this this is under 600 and good but it is not 8k so you cannot game 8k 60 fps but you can play 4k
Outdoor TVs exist for a reason. They are built to withstand the elements, reduce glare, and last a long time.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MTMGX1L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_T2wrFb3ES4A85
They also have a reduced chance to start electrical fires and are less likely to reduce your insurance payout if they do.
You can probably find a cheaper one, but this is what came up when I googled the model number + power supply. https://www.amazon.com/Durpower-PANASONIC-TC-P42X3-TC-P46X3-TC-P60S3/dp/B0176LM2DI It's the same cable the iMacs and a lot of PC desktops use, you might have an extra one lying around the house.
Oops, typo. I meant LG, not LX. I do see a C8 sold directly by LG on Amazon for $3499: https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-OLED77C8PUA-77-Inch-Ultra/dp/B079TT1RLY
I do have sound already, so don't care about bad TV sound, but thanks for the warning.
Thanks for the reply. I feel a little more comfortable seeing you say they'll look better overall, despite the disadvantages in black level and motion.

I had this same dilemma - but luckily there are many "universal tv stands" that are a solution. They attach via wall mount screws to the the rear of the television, and connect it to a single central pedestal, rather than two feet at the edges.
Here is an example of one on Amazon just so you get the idea, but there are different ones available that accommodate different TV sizes, weights or just have a different look. Just make sure you find one that is rated to support the weight of your TV, and are less than 37" at the base.
Definitely not that. For starters, the RU8000 is every bit as good as the Q60R. Aside from that, there are much better sets for the price. I would check out the Vizio M Quantum series. It has good native contrast. Just be careful, as there are 2 different versions of the M series, and one isn't as good as the other. You want a G1 M series, not the G0.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RFNWW8Y?tag=rtings-tv-cm01b-20&ie=UTF8
Samsung, LG, Sony, and some Vizios are ok. If I were you I'd find a used TV with component video for about $50-$100.

This one's $138 in the USA. I don't know prices in Canada if that's where you are https://smile.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-32LJ500B-32-Inch-Model/dp/B01N4TOXFG/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=32%22+tv&qid=1559684423&s=electronics&sr=1-14
Imo the TCL 6 beats it overall: it's this one - https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55R617-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B079N9HDNQ?ref_=Oct_TopRatedC_172659_1&pf_rd_p=0c754443-c2f5-5688-a172-b6edd84a9cee&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-6&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=172659&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=9D9SPDEVRTT5PX4CRECC&pf_rd_r=9D9SPDEVRTT5PX4CRECC&pf_rd_p=0c754443-c2f5-5688-a172-b6edd84a9cee

It's VA panel, so viewing angles need to be more head on but has much better contrast ratio than IPS (the LG).
Gotcha, that’s a bummer I think a 70 would fit perfect in my living, viewing area is about 10 feet
Is this the right TCL 6 Series

I think rather than limiting your TV selection based on this criteria, you might be better off picking up a component to HDMI converter like this one.
I bought this for the 65” version and it works wonderfully

I'm in the process of finishing my basement and I was planning on using this Surge Protector for a wall mounted tv.
Hey, sorry for bothering you again, I went to my local bestbuy to look at the MU6300. While shopping around and looking at the different models and different brands, I got upsold to the Samsung MU8000. They were running a sale for $901USD, which is ~ $320 more than the MU6300. My girlfriend really liked the picture, having the HDR and their color drive. I'm tempted to get it even though it's $300 more. I just checked Amazon and found what I think is the exact same TV/model for $760. The only indication to me that it could be different is it says (2017 model). Is this an older model, or are all TV's on the market right now 2017 models, since the new line of TV's come out at the end of April?
I ended up getting the TV! I also have been using this wall mount for a few years now, it'd done well by me. It's also held a '08 50" plasma which was heavy as fuck and didn't have any issues.
It's a really solid set up, I'm super happy so far. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wZUMAb6KJ6G8J

What about this?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y6FSV5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_9n4GAbK8E5B82
Is it worth the price jump from the vizeo? My local best buy has it for 600
I did notice the phillips does not seem to support hdr
I only have an old Onkyo receiver... I think I'm going to replace it with a sound bar soon. I ended up getting this switch from Amazon, so far so good. Both my Ps4 and Nvidia Shield TV is working with HDR10.
HDMI 2.0 Switch 5x1 Awakelion Premium Quality 4K x 2K/60Hz HDMI Switcher with IR Remote, HDR,HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2 ,Full HD/3D,1080P,DTS/Dolby (5 In 1 Out) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WV5YJ6H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uxhwAbPBT3GX7
And yes, I was shocked and pissed off that it only had only HDMI 2.0 port... It's something that I didn't think that I needed to worry about going into 2018 haha. The other ports support 4k, but not HDR.
Found this today at work. Has hdr too, this best I'll find you think? Work has it for $489
Sony TVs look really good but they're pretty expensive with the 49 inch here being $1300. Are the older 800E and 720E models still good?
I would suggest returning the TV. LeEco is going under so if something happens to the TV you are fucked.
That said, I am a fan of echogear mounts. Super high quality and great support.

You can easily do this by just buying a BroadLink New RM Mini3 IR Control Hub ,Smart Home Wi-Fi Enabled Infrared Universal Remote Control. It only costs $20 and is a bit quirky but it is really small and unobtrusive and it will definitely do what you are asking of it. You will be able to control your TV with your phone from anywhere in the world. Really.
I don't think either of those have Dolby Vision - a higher standard than HDR10, and what reviews? Cause on Amazon the TCL is better rated than either of those Samsungs and is 5"+ bigger. Also has dolby audio built in the soundbar. I'm hoping to get one Thursday online for a One X.
I found this Vizio M50-E1, which seems to be comparable to the TCL P607 according to rtings.com. What do you think?
Something like this should do what you need. There may be cheaper ones out there, this is just the first one I saw on amazon:

Personally I think the sony x900e is a fantastic tv. Oled has great picture. So do you want 10/10 picture at 55 inch or 8-9/10 picture at 65? Also I have heard oled isn't as good in sunlight as the sony but not sure about that. Others might have more insight.
In the same boat as you OP. Amazon has a 40" one from TCL, a brand I'm unfamiliar with, for $270 that I'm thinking about purchasing. If you have a PS4 Pro and want to do 4k there is this 43" one for $350.
Anyone have opinions on TCL?
edit: After glancing around for like two minutes on this sub it seems like TCL certainly won't be as high quality as some of the more expense brand names, but they still produce a pretty solid product for the price.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'll steer away from the TLC. So following your principle of getting what you pay for, this Sony 60Hz is a little bit more, but I'm guessing I can expect a little higher quality? Money isn't really an issue luckily.
Yes.

There are lots of things like this that will fix your issue.. maybe search before posting?

You should be able to just look for VESA stands and find whatever fits your fancy.
I think something like this 3.5mm joiner would work well for you. You basically have two inputs and one output.
Alright, further research, I'm thinking about raising the budget and leaning towards one of these:
Sony XBR65X750D
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR65X750D-64-5-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01FWIEMVW
or
Samsung UN65KU7000 https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN65KU7000-65-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01EBGELGW
Will I hate either of these? AM I NUTS?
I bought this, Bill. Will that work or should I cancel and buy something else? I'm a dummy when it comes to electronics

I measured and to bring the cord down we would only need 15 feet of HDMI cord. Is this a good cord? https://www.amazon.com/Aurum-Ultra-Ethernet-Supports-Version/dp/B00M05MTTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489202276&sr=8-1&keywords=20+foot+HDMI+cord

I did a quick search and found this. Sony tvscare really good and it's supposed to have gotten an hdr update. You might want do a bit more research on it to see if it's an 8 or 10-bit panel.
X850D is great for gaming, but not available in 60 inch, only 55 or 65. I'd recommend it over the ks8000 almost, except for the size part. https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR55X850D-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01A5LU5E4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1479421044&sr=1-1&keywords=55x850d
I'll put in my two cents, I just purchased a 55 inch (139.7 cm) TV for $696.00 on Amazon. So far I am very happy with it. Full 4K, the 4K upscaler works really good, 120Hz refresh. Great picture, I bought the matching LG sound bar but the built in sound was pretty good.
Only complaint is that the controls are a little odd. Input selection pop-ups on the right side. At the end of the Input list you access the adjustments for video, audio, wifi, etc. There is a Home button for Smart apps, and those are along the bottom. Then again I didn't go and see it at a local store before buying.
LG Electronics 55UH6150 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model)
LG Electronics SH5B 2.1 Channel 320W Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer (2016 Model)
you could get an hdmi audio extractor like this https://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Extractor-Optical-Converter-VHD-H2HSAs/dp/B00KBHX072/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1477607078&sr=1-3&keywords=hdmi+audio+extractor
but it will add lag. Or you could get a dac that plugs into the optical out on your xbox goes into this: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Analog-Converter-Optical-Toslink/dp/B005K2TXMO/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1477607132&sr=1-3&keywords=dac then red & white to 3.5 cable out to whatever you will be plugging it into
65 inch 2500$ on Amazon, and its curved which I am not a big fan of.
Any links to a 65 inch flat OLED in the $2000 area?
So do you suggest a smaller TV with 100-120hz ? For example 40 inch for £300 And do you thing a known brand (Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic) is worth the money ?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00W7GNMPA/ref=psdc_560864_t1_B01AY05K8M
Which one would you suggest between these two ?
What's your suggestion for around $1,200?
I was looking at this over the weekend.
Its a dark environment. I was thinking about getting the Samsung UN65KU6300
It only has a true refresh rate of 60 though....is the difference between that and 120 that much of a difference?
My budget is around $2000
Hmm... yeah I'm leaning towards Samsung too. Seems more future proof than the Vizio (and higher quality.)
Is there any other TV I should be looking into for 4K HDR UHD around the $500-1200 range?
TCL FS3750, 40" for $270 for 48" for $320. Even though $300 is your budget, the extra $20 would be worth it for almost a 50".
There may be some cheaper televisions, but they won't have as good as a picture, won't be good for gaming, and will be pretty bad just all around.
Whenever I go over there, the cable box it turned off, and he is in the Netflix or HBO Go or whatever app. I turned off the Wifi connection on the TV hoping that that might solve it. But it seemingly hasn't solved it.
Personally I would save a little bit more and get the new Samsung un55ku6290 https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN55KU6290-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01E69RCEW we have had then on sale for 699 where I work but they went up a little bit
So I have heard of broken optical ports on 2015 LG TV's thats why I am asking for a picture.
There is also a mini optical as well https://www.amazon.com/eForCity-TOTHMNTSLK03-12-Feet-Digital-Optical/dp/B001ZU3G2I
Idk about that I have a Samsung 42" 720p that we use in the master bedroom and have for 7 years just fine. I got a 720p because I wanted to save when 1080p was out.
I guess I should say I don't think that to be true for everything. Yes if you buy a Seki 60" you can't be mad it lasted 5 years.
What about this 60"? Samsung UN60J6200 60-Inch 1080p Smart LED TV (2015 Model) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U9U9AAM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_062vxbE187AMV
This one has a lot of favorable reviews.

Check rtings.com for in depth tv reviews. They're great.
For 750 the Vizio m is your best bet. It's a 4k uhdtv. The 50 inch on amazon is 628 plus tax right now. I just bought this TV a couple weeks ago and am happy with it. Vizio tvs use sony panels which are very good. They are definately better than the panels samsung uses. Lg probably has better quality but the 4k uhdtvs would be out of your price range for a 50-55 inch tvs. http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-M43-C1-43-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B00T63YUJO?th=1&psc=1
I got a Vizio ( 4K ) and its not a fixed stand, but it wouldnt fit on my TV stand which is a high triple layer, not would it swivel So I got this
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Tabletop-Swivel-Height-Adjustable/dp/B00IUUN6L2
ha, i'm not saying it's impossible. it's just going to be less challenging but not 100% comfortable. coming from a 40", anything will be an improvement though, no doubt about that.

I'm no expert. I came to this thread looking for similar advice. But I've had my eye on this Sharp 43 inch from Amazon. link to amazon
PROS: No sales tax, right?
Free Shipping (Tho shipping a TV scares me...
