Why don't you try a scanner?
They're perfectly legal in NY as long as you don't equip one in your car or use it to commit a crime.
They opened less than a week ago and I heard some mumblings of hiccups on opening day (someone who wasn't supposed to be working had to come in and help). That's to be expected, but I think they're way more popular than they anticipated. Give them time.
Sign's up and there's a menu on Grubhub, so I hope so. Want me to walk there and see if there's anything on the door? It'll only take about 2 minutes.
Edit: Sorry, I started this comment before yours was visible.
So the Postenkill Gorge Park does have a trail, according to AllTrails (great app/website for this!). Looks like it’s a .3 mi trail.

Edit: May want to check out Massive Mesh, too. I don't know if they're hiring, but they seem like a good local company.
I've read some of their posts; it's the only source I've been able to find for a few different subjects. You may already know about it, but Spellen of Troy is another great local history blog. And if you check Amazon, there are quite a few books available about Troy's history, like this one about Little Italy.
