Just download the official USCIS civics test app

Install one of the citizenship apps they help you study and it's faster. It has pronunciation as well. And you enter your state so it shows the relevant names for your state.
I was confident once I knew the 100 questions and answers by heart.
This is the one in android I used:

⚠️Android only, for iOS don't bother reading this comment
I've been using this one, ended up being reliable: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xiaohui.usciscasechecker
In any case, whatever you use, make sure you allow unrestricted background battery use (it won't use much, without it Android may notice you aren't using the app much, and won't let it go live and do the checks at some point).
The flight to Tijuana is a local flight in Mexico from Sayulita - they don't care about your US status on this flight. At the Tijuana airport, there is a bridge directly to America called CBX (Cross Border Express). As you try to cross the bridge, there will be a CBP officer at the POE and you need to say you are a permanent resident. They will take you to secondary and will determine you are a permanent resident. Once you are inside the US, you can go anywhere by getting to San Diego Airport (25ish minute car ride from the border).
I am just giving you another option besides paying $$$ for I-131A at the US consulate or having someone mail you your green card.
Finally, consider getting one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E6BCSI and sticking it in the inside of your passport with the open side facing the passport binding. Then stick your green card in there. That way your green card and passport are always together.
It may be worth asking your relatives which European countries your grandparents or great-grandparents were descended from.
There are also a lot of sources online for older records from South Africa. The LDS (Mormon) Church has compiled many sources here:

There are also compilations of old SA census records from the early 1900s available in libraries.
The staus on USCIS web site seems to update way more readily and reliably than the USPS mail delivery. Every single letter they have sent to me through my N400 process did show up as status update, with a PDF copy on the documents tabs, about 1.5-2 weeks before the envelope has showed up in my mailbox.
You don't even have to manually check, there are plenty of phone apps that do it for you (i've been using this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xiaohui.usciscasechecker)
This said, mind the COVID and all the unpredictable rules changes. You may end up coming back for your appointment just to discover they won't let you in sooner than 10 days after a plane travel again, so keep your eyes peeled for this stuff.
> WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the government agency that processes immigration applications, is set to run out of money this summer and will begin attaching a 10% surcharge to application fees, the agency confirmed.
> The agency has requested $1.2 billion in emergency funding from Congress and said in a statement it plans to use the 10% surcharge to reimburse the money once immigration services resume.
> Immigration advocates criticized USCIS’s decision to adopt a surcharge on its applications, saying the move will further restrict access to the legal immigration system for low-income immigrants.

I've got notification on my N400 from this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xiaohui.usciscasechecker), apparently, the only thing that has changed is one word in the original receipt notice. The "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was EMAILED" has changed to the "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was SENT". Guess other apps could have been triggered by the same change for everyone.

Sure, here is the playstore link for it:

Should one trust this app? I have no idea, but it did pick up the current state of the case, so i certainly hope so. Make sure you disable battery optimization on it, too.
These are the only sources you need to study from:
