Not much to it, and not much that can be easily analyzed, as the source isn't actually made public on their github, just the release binaries. You can de-package them pretty easily, but frankly I don't want a headache, so I'm not going to be looking at obfuscated javascript code for long =)
It looks like it is built using Electron, and is simply making standard calls into the same APIs we can see here: https://api.vechain.tools
I skimmed the code and didn't see anything that would be revealing.
A pair of new Boot Nodes:
Seems to be an investment firm, subsidiary to Tencent.
General software/IT consulting firm.
Fairly sure this was on Amazon and its already out.

edit: Yeah apologies it was on Amazon Prime.
I imagine a day when I keep my VET on a secure smart phone much like the recently released HTC one - https://lifehacker.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-htcs-exodus-1-the-blockcha-1830836727
The generated VTHO can used to pay for hotels, taxis, movies, restaurants with the phone. You check-in into the hotel and hit the bed and during the night VTHO is generated and you can pay with it during check-out the next day. Pretty cool if it works like that. You'll have an ATM machine in your pocket always generating cash for you.
Rumor is already doing rounds that Samsung won't be left behind and is working on a secure element on their phones to keep the tokens. If Samsung does that, then it won't take long for Apple to churn out one especially if the Samsung ones start to be successful. From there on, dApp stores will start to spring up and tokens will start to be accepted by real businesses.
Nothing wrong in imagining a future like that whether it turns out that way or not.
Hiya-- First you have to buy coins, like bitcoin, ethereum, or litecoin.
You can buy them on coinbase. Normally I would use a debit card, but VEN is rising really fast so if you want to buy now, use a credit card and eat the fee.
Then buy on an exchange. For the moment, Binance is the most reliable, high-volume exchange for english speakers that's trading VEN.
transfer your coins to your account on the exchange.
Make the trade
Withdraw the funds to your wallet. I recommend My Ether Wallet, it supports VEN (and hardwallets...)
PM me if you have any questions-
Yea first it was mentioned by Sunny (I think) that it would be Q4 of 2019, so anytime between Oct-Dec.
I did also see the powerpoint that said August, but the CEO of OceanEx on Friday 11/1 said "next week" and then he said yes an announcement is coming very very soon. This was during a 30 minute AMA at SF Blockchain week.
Link here https://dlive.tv/p/dlive+9Ukd8E0WR
Interview starts at 4:30:00 and he mentions the fiat on ramp at 4:43:50.... I hear him say "You will see the news of the fiat in the next week" ...."its coming out very very soon, this month"
Yes that's me that said that, I feel bad now reading back through that, I should have given him links and encouraged him to apply, instead of just going "it'll be a tough competition, and others may dedicate their node to do this as well as other things". At the time I didn't think the general community consensus was "all AN's would be Enterprises", but now knowing that's what many thought, I do regret that comment because the way I worded it, it almost enforces that idea. /u/50thor I apologize for not trying to help you, I didn't even give you links. Hopefully you still want to apply as a Community Contributor. Pm me if you have questions.
Haven't been following this.
Did VeChain agree to consider this new website?
What if you put all this time into the site and they say, "naw, no thanks." For all we know, they may have spent 100k on the site and they're not just going to toss it away.
P.S. Looks great, but took 4.3s to load and is 33mb! https://gtmetrix.com/reports/dev.valhallavet.io/5q5Spfud
Send Robinhood a message (https://robinhood.com/contact) to add VET (VeChain) as a coin offering on their platform!!!! Investing - Something Else - Cryptocurrency is the path to send.
You might find it funny that people dont know what toolchain is but I think its important to make it a lot clearer about what is on offer and how people can easily use vechain. The toolchain work app on android has had 100 downloads.. thats nothing. What I expected was something like this - https://www.xero.com/au/pricing-plans/
Thanks. To be totally honest we got confused with what toolchain is but you are right, there is some high level information there. I guess what I was expecting is an application that is actually ready to use and pricing plans available online and ready to go. As someone else mentioned it sounds like this is more with partners to build out at the moment.
edit: something like this - https://www.xero.com/au/pricing-plans/
I’ll preface this with saying I moved all of my funds into VeChain, because I made some money on the bull run early this year and when I finally got into researching real projects I was drawn to VeChain and decided to stop chasing pumps for my own mental stability.
To answer why this could take years, I’ll leave this link:
https://www.fool.com/investing/2016/06/26/amazon-stocks-history-the-importance-of-patience.aspx
The TL;DR, is that out of the dotcom bubble, the stock price of Amazon was up and down numerous times, and it took them twenty years to get to where they are now. They were a literal game-changer with regards to on-line ordering, and they still had their sell-offs and drawbacks.
I’m sure there are plenty of good projects out there solving real problems, but Ven seemed like the best value investment to leave alone.

That page has sections to call the api to see blocks and transactions etc. Just use the button next to the command you want to use. The cryptic message is on the first transaction so you do the following steps.
Get the block number of the first transaction: https://twitter.com/sunshinelu24/status/1012881540798300161
Input the block number into the GET request section for blocks on the page I linked to earlier.
Look at the portion of the block that says "Transactions". Copy the ID of that transaction.
Paste the transaction ID you just copied into the ID field of the Transactions GET request section on that page.
Copy the letters and numbers next in the part of the transaction that says "Data"
Paste those letters and numbers into the box on this site and click convert: https://www.browserling.com/tools/hex-to-text
Come back and ask more questions because you fucked it up... Just joking, but if you can't get it to work then just let me know where you got lost.
(Also, there's a hidden message in block 0 as well.)
Did you search for 'vechain' in the play store? I only get two results:mobile wallet and pro app which is used for NFC or QR scanning.
Not a scam.

Appreciate that bupperna ! Will see ya in Bermuda or Bahamas would have to look again (or if ever over this way holler have a spot) ! Not sure if you've seen what found already, so pardon if it's redundant. Reckon will just go to campus and then email if can't find professor or whoever (rather be able to talk in person) this week and find out what up. Down for a US meetup one day sir ! Hope your company and VeChain are progressing together for a solution as well ! Been going back and forth on how to proceed. So many good VETerans around here like yourself sir ! Stoked ! LET'S GO !

Could be someone else who's a US university and partnered. Allgood if not - am sure whoever it is that they're making solid contributions to VeResearch. Would be an all-time pump-fake if not the case (which is possible). Might be overthinking what to do, but this is my 8-mile moment at a dream potentially. Appreciate the positive vibes (and drink in advance) !
New developments over on Bitfinex that I just noticed
https://cryptowat.ch/markets/bitfinex/ven/btc
That has 124,130 VeChain in buy walls. With 61,453 VeChain near current price! And hardly anything for sale as I see 3,000 VeChain for sale.
The USD and ETH markets on Bitfinex are still pretty empty though. At least someone with BTC on Bitfinex is interested in VeChain.
i allways prefer a wallet above an exchange. but the bonus you are talking about is (vtho) and you get it if you put your vet in your wallet but also on oceanex. allthough i would advise you to put your vet in a wallet. the wallet is easy to use and is allways safer than any exchange.

I just gave the AMA a listen again since I missed first half before.

Edit: ama begins at 4:33:54
Key parts around the stable coin:
@4:48:26
@4:52:09
He corrects the term "Stable Coin" (Specifically he says "It's not really a stable coin 'stable coin'). He'd rather call it utility token. It sounds it's not necessarily pegged to fiat so that's why he shies away from that term. In the AMA marathon Medium article, he also corrects stable coin, preferring "settlement coin". I believe that the San Marino reward token is the settlement token, he briefly explains how the government/regulating bodies will decide the value of the token, not markets.

Looking at charts.
Binance VEN/USDt https://cryptowat.ch/markets/binance/ven/usdt/4h has large volume but that's probably the Binance whale that creates volume with no fee or low fee account.
The Bitfinex pairings have empty order book and very little volume still.
Bithumb very little showing on the order book.
It's all Binance still. Someone has a bot running keeping the volume up.
Chart of VEN/BTC range we are in https://i.imgur.com/dznGRjg.png
Waiting to see what happens once Binance completes the token swap and people start sending to mobile wallets to get THOR.
Alts waiting on BTC too. My BTC break out point is $7000 so maybe 7 months of dumping is enough and BTC goes up soon. Last big bubble in 2013 price dumped for 5 months before going up 45%
Just think token swap, transactions start showing up on main net, people generating VTHO, VTHO trading starts somewhere all while BTC is heading back up to $9,000
EOS started trading in July https://cryptowat.ch/markets/bitfinex/eos/usd/1d
VeChain started a month later
VeChain supply is 873,000,000 although the foundation holds about 300,000,000 VET right now.
EOS supply is 820,000,000 right now.
Both ETH tokens.
But whales let one coin go up up up while the whales make sure another coin doesn't go up.
Who knows why. It's like why sell loads now when you could possibly wait for price to go up or hold the supply to manipulate the price up and then slowly sell way higher (see EOS).
Yeah, for sure. There's no question that speculation, FOMO, and greed are driving things (though the Fear & Greed Index hasn't been too crazy--it spiked into 'extreme' territory with today's pump, maybe temporarily, but it's been staying at bullish-but-not-insane levels over the past while).
It's always a double-edged sword when you set a lofty target that you don't think will be met for a while, and then bam, it gets met way sooner than expected, and you have to reevaluate what you think of it all.
Nope, no problems at all and very impressed with the TV, although it's only been a couple months. I basically spent an hour going through the store, researching all of the TV's and reviews, comparing to Amazon etc. and the TCL was one of the highest rated ones out there and the best price.
Ended up buying it and I love it - you can use your cell phone as a remote and everything is very intuitive. Hooked the PC up to it and games look amazing in 4k and has almost no input lag. I'd recommend looking up the reviews for yourself, it has 2,250 reviews on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55S405-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01MTGM5I9
Ha's. VeMeds. Was hoping to have a jetpack by now when was younger. Thought 2010-2020 easily would be the case. Wait use case ?! VeChain jetpacks ?! Still a long ass way from VEN goal, but have got a lil more and thankful for what haVe no doubt. Figured out my alma mater is most likely working with VeChain and one of the two unannounced US universities Sunny mentioned somewhere (NYC, Harvard, or wherever) - am fn ecstatic ! Racking my brain trying to figure out how to join the team and earn a hoodie.
Can click on votes and see "wolfpackresearchgroup" (stumbled upon the link here)

Go Pack ! We'll be OK huh !
Ah, good point about USDt pair. ICX recently had it done https://www.binance.com/tradeDetail.html?symbol=ICX_USDT
ICX went $1.90 to $2.39
About 33%
Maybe I should hold just in case it pumps then sell into the pump.
hey, thanks for the reply. I know about the marketcap. But still I don't really see the benefit of a billion tokens. Was this to raise more money for the ICO? What was the original amount of money raised for Vechain ICO? (i'm sorry maybe it's on the reddit, i haven't searched for it yet)
I read this article by the ceo of Binance where he said he doesn't like big ICO's. Would he deem Vechain to be a big ICO you think? https://steemit.com/binance/@czbinance/5mm9uo-i-don-t-like-big-icos
Thanks for the discussion!
Thanks for pointing this out, I've just re-read about this and you're right.
The ASICS are nowhere near as much of a threat to Ethash mining as I believed. Very surprised after watching the Monero hashrate drop by 2/3rds post fork.
I know it's about half this price now but Check out the "profitably" of the antminer-e3 :)
This is a good read on the BYD Global conference in which we hope a partnership with VeChain will be annouced.
I've emailed customer service about getting VTHO for holding VET, but this is what I got from them about that:
"...We don't have any official word about this yet. Please check our blog at https://uphold.com/en/blog to keep up with the latest details..."
Just wanted to let fellow Vechainers know that Exodus desktop now has a dedicated Vechain wallet. It is is not automatically added to your Portfolio screen and you need to click on the plus sign in the top right hand corner and scroll down or search VEN. Then just tick the box and it will appear on your home screen.
I transferred over a small stack from Binanace to test it out and it looks sweet sitting in a Vechain wallet and on my pie chart in Exodus. After Binance sorts out the split I will have to see if they upgrade the Vechain wallet on Exodus. Some people here mentioned not liking mobile wallets also. I hope this is an option until we can get an official desktop wallet. https://www.exodus.io
iOS or Android? This is the android wallet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vechain.wallet
What's strange about the one you shared is that it only has 47 reviews, and a very high rating. I would be careful, and wait for someone to confirm the legit wallet
Just finished watching this. Holy shit I never saw this one. Made me all excited about buying the first iPhone right now lol.
I use a Private Internet Access VPN. New Zealand server worked. Thank you for sharing!
Well the android version has been out for a month or a little longer, last I checked it was like 500 5* on google playstore.
Edit: 4.8* out of 1102 reviews.

If you haven't already, have a look at wrt-merlin ad-blocking router firmware or https://pi-hole.net/
I got fed up with inappropriate ads popping up on android box, tablets etc, you can block many ads straight from the router and covers all your home network devices.
You still need ublock for some things (youtube) and you can still whitelist sites you want to support.
I wrote to Ledger France 2 hours ago: The answer is not very promising:
**Thank you for your message.
At this moment, we do not have an ETA for VeChain, but we are working hard on it. On this page you can follow our roadmap (Trello) regarding VeChain. I hope to be able to provide you with more information in the coming month.

They also sent a link where you can follow the "roadmap" but there are only questions, also from Chinese VEN holders. https://trello.com/c/2rwsTHtK/100-vechain-support
Thank you for clarifying. Reckon it's kind of like a non-compete clause. That's new to me, but full-on believe you and understand. LoVe how global this is !! Am stoked - it sounds like my alma mater is working with VeChain ! They haven't announced it yet, but found solid evidence that they are one of the two US universities Sunny mentioned in NYC or Harvard (one of those). Found Wolfpackresearchgroup under voters under VeChain on Trello - am Very excited at the possibility ! Hopefully can figure out how to get on board - would loVe to earn a hoodie.
Belongs to the top 5 exchanges in regards to daily volume traded. https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/ UI is straightforward, easy to grasp although not as pretty as Binance. Haven't had a problem with deposits or withdrawals. All in all a decent exchange imo. Ven trading volume on the exchange is still pretty low tho, hence the high price compared to Liqui's; I'd wait a day for the price to calibrate with the market.
Has there been any updates beyond this being POC?
https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/11/14/arket-hm-blockchain-cryptocurrency/
You don't need Antivirus for this step. Your private key or seed words will not leave your Ledger, beside you need to actually physically confirm any transaction on your Ledger before any transaction could go through.
As for the antivirus, I don't know I've used any for a long time. I always do crytpo transaction on either my Mac or mobile phone. I guess if you need antivirus, you could try one under "Security" list on this site: https://ninite.com.
If VeChain's ambitious plans come to fruition, these comets could be worth a decent amount to avid collectors!

Again, @xamojamei - thank you for spreading the word about Ledger’s unacceptable security breach.
You can store small amounts of data in smart contracts, but usually the way to go is uploading the data to something like IPFS https://ipfs.io/ (data is immutable) and store the reference to this data in a smart contract.
I'm actually going to start work on something like this at some point (got a few side projects going). The general idea is: you enter your data/notes/text and then it will be encrypted and uploaded to IPFS, once the reference is provided I'll store that in a smart contract allowing you to essentially have decentralised encrypted notes (DENs). I hope to try and make use of the MPP for this (although I probably don't generate enough VTHO to support this :( ).

With the MPP it would mean free decentralized notes/data secured by Vechain. Also easily searchable as the references are attached to your public key.

As for actually storing data within a transaction like meta-tags etc, currently that is not possible and would probably take up too much space. Blockchains are meant for securing the data not storing vast amounts of it. The less the better :-)

I did a quick search for the world VeChain. No results but if someone wants read it line by line. Seems kinda generic to me.
Their trading fees are on a scale:
https://www.coinex.com/fees?lang=en_US
As for their withdrawal fees, they charge 2 VET. This is crazy low. Kucoin, for example, charges 100. I am pretty sure that OceanEX charges 100 also.
Coinex is amazing in terms of fees. The only concern is that it doesn't seem to have the liquidity that the larger exchanges do. This is not an issue with smaller amounts though.
>VIP180 tokens $JUR, $OCE, $SHA, $PLA spotted on @coingecko (http://coingecko.com). Great to have valid market data for the VeChain ecosystem.

I think that VET will show itself in 2-3 years. Little bit agree with the article👇
https://changelly.com/blog/vechain-vet-price-prediction-for-2019-2020/
If you look at their VeChain page:
https://uphold.com/en/assets/crypto/buy-vechain
at the bottom:
Note: this cryptocurrency[VET] is not available for withdrawal to external crypto wallets. It can be bought, held, and sold on Uphold.
Don’t think you can: “Note: this cryptocurrency is not available for withdrawal to external crypto wallets. It can be bought, held, and sold on Uphold.” Source: https://uphold.com/en/assets/crypto/buy-vechain
I am reposting one of my edits from another thread:
Here is a summary of the company via Wikipedia:
“Uphold is a cloud-based digital money platform enabling users to buy, hold, convert and transact across 30+ currencies and commodities, including 7 cryptocurrencies. Uphold members can deposit funds to their account via bank account, credit card in addition to cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum into reserve-backed currencies and commodities allowing anyone with a device to send, receive, and exchange money and commodities. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, with offices in Larkspur, Braga, London, and Shanghai, Uphold allows users to convert bitcoin into "cloud money," in 30+ currencies and 4 precious metals. The company also has an open API and has stated interest in addressing the remittance market through partnerships with the retail outlet Elektra and the Salinas Group. Though Uphold holds bitcoins as stable, real-world currency, Anthony Watson, the former CEO, has stated it is "not a bitcoin company.”
The company boasts over 6 million users on its homepage.
Here’s the key thing:
They differentiate between “Tier 3” and “Tier 4” assets. A Tier 3 asset is one that you can buy, sell, hold, deposit, send, and withdraw. A Tier 4 asset is one that you can only buy, sell, hold (it’s possible this works similar to Robinhood’s IOUs). If VET is listed as a Tier 3 asset, this might be really positive for VET holders as it provides 6 million additional users and liquidity. It’s not clear how they determine Tier 3 vs Tier 4 assets.
I agree also with jd88. I believe also it's quite a bargain right now. Especially with the news waiting ahead. However, maybe check also a bit how market will react with BTC futures. It's a bit crazy right now. Maybe will go even a bit lower. so maybe divide your buy orders.
If you didn't open an account yet you can use this referral link if you like. https://www.binance.com/?ref=10196951
I wish you all the best
Sorry for the kinda of offtopic question...
Is anyone here using Exodus (https://www.exodus.io/)?
Is this safe and legit?
Seems almost too good to be true, I can really savely store so many coins including so completely different ones like BNB, BTC, NANO and now Monero in one place?!
I'm a little paranoid when it comes to wallets...^^
Performed a quick chart analysis of VET/USDT and noted that on the daily chart a major descending triangle pattern was formed from mid august up to now.
Key level to make a up side breakout would be 0.013 USDT, while a breakout below 0.011 USDT could indicate a continuing downward trend.
> there is no downside to releasing AN names.
There are many downsides to it, it's just up to the individual to decide if the pros of forced public nodes outweigh the cons.

i’m on my phone atm, so i’ll update when i get home, but David Aronson has a book where he looked at a few thousand technical signals and none outperformed the sp500. Studies overall are debatable on both sides, there have been some that show that technical hedge funds performed better then fundamental. But there also studies that have shown regular traders that used technical lost more then those who didn’t. Obviously this means it’s inconclusive, like for instant if you have a system that does make money with TA your probably not going to release it lol.
Use a good VPN, and don't use a free one. Maybe someone else can suggest a better one, but I think NordVPN is a good one and if you use CoinGecko app you can collect candies everyday and get a nice coupon for NordVPN.
when did the remove the vechain pro app from the android play store? (no the wallet but the scanning app)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vechain.user&hl=en_US
is there a replacement? i was looking to add it on an old phone and its not available anymore...
Was just reading their blog post from 2 days ago and out of the 20 projects implemented with Rosetta, only Celo was available to trade on the app from what I saw
That being said I still personally think the VET listing in inevitable
I'm VERY sorry for your loss! As far as HOLA is concerned: I never heard about them before but understood it's a "free" VPN ? I use ExpressVPN at a few $/month and it works perfect, and even in Asia/China I have access to all outside "forbidden and blocked" websites and links, normally not accessible. VECHAIN: Were they not able to track your precise number of VEN (around 6K) and follow the route of the "hack"or has MEW a better way of doing so?
