The Ugreen hdmi 3x1 is cheap, pretty good build quality and works. I have two, one has a vita/ps TV connected to it. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00MWRZFP4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_XA1001B32VNHC69WG6EJ
I bought a Powerline Adapter starter kit from Amazon and it works like a charm for Remote Play: TP-LINK TL-PA511 KIT AV500 Powerline Gigabit Adapter Starter Kit, up to 500Mbps

The converter boxes don't have to be great - down conversion is a bit more attainable. This $9 one from Amazon works well for me. You might even try setting the PS TV to output 480p so all the converter is doing is going from progressive to interlaced and see if you like that more. YMMV

Edit: Right, need a link there.
If you're looking online, Amazon US has the base units for $41. And GameStop lists the base units and pre owned a little under $50

What'd you try/say to them? I sent an email to Amazon Customer Support saying
"I bought a Playstion TV and the price dropped from 140 to 100 in less than 30 days after purchase. Could I recieve a credit for the difference since it was such a steep and immediate price drop?"
and I had a refund for the difference in just a few hours.
Just posting in case that helps.
Well that's odd. The Japanese MSRP for these is only around $10 (¥980) but in Japanese Amazon they're going for double or triple (neat, the item code after the description in the URL is the same for US and Japanese Amazon) what they cost in the US. They must be discontinued?
I'd just like to throw in that Technically Final Fantasy III works just fine for me, sometimes when you unplug or power off the system the game will refuse to launch, even on the latest firmware and no updates. The work around is to delete this game and re-install it. Sony suggested that my memory card was corrupted and I have not tried this with my new card so that may be the issue, but several others have had this issue as well so I am not alone in this one. That's the only game I've experienced some weird behavior with.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/620272-playstation-vita/70774459?page=1 Anyway this is a neat idea Sometimes its difficult to really know with out poking around some, but I haven't run into to many issues on newly purchased games.
Are the USB Cables you're using data transfer compatible? There's two types of micro USB cables - those that can supply power or data, and those that can supply power AND data. Here's the best image that I could find to show the difference.
You need a cable that can both power the controller and connect and transfer the input like a wired controller. I think the way the controller works, it'll always default to charging even if at full battery.
These aren't hard to get, but most of the default micro USB cables you've gotten from random devices are the basic cheapo kind that can't do both at the same time. I personally use this amazon basics cable like this one, but any cable that meets the specs I said above will work.
If it's not the cable that's the problem, then I'm honestly not sure. I had this same issue where I couldn't connect a controller and then I realized that none of my cables were up to spec.
I made this awhile ago, and it only encompasses games that I acquired after getting PS+.

And then for more recent games, you could check my backlog list: (pick the option for Vita only)
http://howlongtobeat.com/user.php?n=Nawara_Ven&s=games&backlog=1
It's not the most elegant list for your purposes, perhaps, but I basically don't add PS+ Vita games that don't work with PSTV since I don't have a Vita.
Found a guy in Florida selling one for $15 on OfferUp. You know I snagged that one! It works great too 😄
Here is a better deal and it comes with a DualShock 3 controller. They’ll ship it for $5, and as soon as you receive it you’ll have 3 days to decide if you want to keep it. Much more secure than Facebook.
Happy hunting
So ur gonna need one of two things. You’re gonna need either this official sony charging cable https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-USB-Charging-Cable-PlayStation-4/dp/B00HUXPZPK/ref=mp_s_a_1_30?dchild=1&keywords=ps4+charging+cable&qid=1625004856&sprefix=ps4+charg&sr=8-30 Or you’re gonna need to get a PS3 controller and its charging cable. The ps4 and ps3 charging cables are different so you wont be able to interchange the cables. Anyhow i picked up both that aforementioned PS4 charging cable and i also bought a PS3 controller and its charging cable. The PS3 controller synced right away and then when i used the brand new ps4 cable with my ps4 controller it also worked. Im guessing cause its an official sony cable tho idk. Btw yes it is an official cable, its just made by a different company that sony lisences their grunt work too lol. Try both of those solutions and then enjoy your PSTV! The system seems to be very picky about which charging/data transfer cables it accepts so that my guess why its a pain in the ass
Do you use a vpn service like Unblock-Us? I had a similar problem when I rented a movie on my PS4; I resolved the problem by plugging my PS4 directly into my modem instead of my router (which has the DNS info for Unblock-Us).
It will scale up to 4k, but if you connect a 1080p TV it will only upscale to that. There is a processor on board that handles everything. Basically it's a HDMI cable with built in converter box (which is why it requires USB power -- you can use the PSTV's or one from your TV it if has them).
Amazon links:
Seiki U-Vision
Marseille MCable Gaming
With Marseille mCables there are Gaming and Cinema variants, the difference is mainly that the gaming ones are slightly faster (less lag). The Marseille Cinema and the Seiki U-Vision have the same chipset so are for all intents and purposes identical except for the branding.
I personally cannot tell the difference between the Seiki/mCable Cinema and the mCable Gaming when it comes to input latency/lag but that might be just that I'm not that sensitive to it, so if you want to make sure to get the best performance consider an mCable Gaming edition over the others.
I think it was this one from amazon, it's been a couple years so I've switched my setup around and no longer use it, but at the time I was googling solutions and someone mentioned it so I just bought the cheapest one on amazon that fit my needs to test it out and it ended up working for me. However I'm sure if you search around now you'll find cheaper ones for sale that'll do the same job.
This wasn't my original question. I have an official compatible PS4 headset that works just fine with my PS4.
Heres an amazon link so no one else gets misled by gregsaw's comment: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-sony-psp/dp/B00HVBPRUO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1515906411&sr=8-4&keywords=ps4+headset+gold
Now could someone answer the actual question, would it work? Won't be able to test this for a little while house is being redone and would like to order whatever accessory is necessary to make this work.
Hello. Look at this previous post on USB controllers compatibility. I also did some additional testing this morning for you. The amazon basic usb hub won't work with any of my controllers. However, another Nexxtech usb hub I had did work.
I'll be happy to answer any further questions you have!
PSTV has always been hard to find in Canada. I have a friend that took the longest of time trying to find one. You're gonna have to hunt for it online as that's likely the only way you'll ever find one.
Or import one from the US.
Alternatively, you can buy the standalone version from Amazon.com for under $60USD shipped.
If you can find a screen that has HDMI you can use the PSTVs portability. You can use a PSP charger to USB and use the 'TV's USB or a power bank to power up the PSTV. I have this setup on my other V outside using a psp to usb charger to power up my pstv instead of using one wall socket.
my brother has this portable TV that is powered by his XBOXone USB. But im not sure if that is exactly it. You can get a power bank with a pretty high capacity now so its pretty easy to make a mod of PSTV+HDTV+powerbank.
there aren't many 3rd party controllers that work with the TV. this adapter will adapt many controllers to work with it though: http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Adapter-XBOX360-PS3-PS2-USB/dp/B0089OBLDO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1413161396&sr=8-6&keywords=mayflash
I would recommend using a HDMI audio extractor if you can (I have this one I was using bluetooth for a while but I got sick of the slight amount of lag with my setup. When I was using bluetooth I swapped between a cheap bluetooth speaker and using this adapter with headphones.
I really really would recommend going with a HDMI audio extractor if you can go with a wired solution. On a plus side if you ever want to use something else with your monitor like a DVD player, Roku or Chromecast etc, then you have a solution that works with anything HDMI.
I have that. Works very easily if you've paired a bluetooth device before. One thing to note though, you'll be hearing 4 beeps when putting the Vita TV to and off Standby. It's a little annoyance, but at least you'll know the device works. Also make sure the two are in close range.
I have a BT audio adapter like you are talking about. I mainly use it to listen to music in the car but I once thought I would connect the receiver to a non-BT set of headphones and see if I could listen to my Vita that way (it was just an experiment, I know the Vita has a regular headphone jack). The lag was unacceptable, I'd say around a half second. Even if you thought you could live with that, it suffered constant disconnections.
If I were you, I'd get some kind of box you can route your HDMI connection through that allows you to split the audio out to a 3.5mm or stereo RCA connection--like this.
I have ordered this one and will try it once it arrives and do some testing. I'll share my experience on this subreddit.
http://www.amazon.com/Lilliput-1080P-Camera-Field-Monitor/dp/B00ABWYFG2
This one right? I guess this response is also a link for the lazy.
I wonder if you could set it down on a table with that little camera adapter stand.
I have this adapter which let me use third party PS2 controllers on the PSTV. it is supposed to work with xbox 360 controllers, in case you have those already, but I don't have one of those, so I can't tell you 100% that it will work. when I tried 3rd party ps3 controllers with it, they would not work - either through this adapter or directly with the PSTV.
Here's one that I heard about through Project COE. It's a bit more expensive, but virtually does what you need it to do.
I second this. OP you need to buy one of http://www.amazon.com/New-Wayzon-Composite-Converter-Blue-Ray/dp/B00K3OO5ZY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439715523&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi+to+av these boxes.
Hm, sorry dude. I use a HMDI to VGA with audio out and it works great with my VitaTV with the computer monitor on my desk, and then on top of that I can use headphones or a speaker with it. It's a VGA, not DVI, but you might have one of those too. Never had any issues except I had to do the steps that I outlined above.
Works fine for me http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NZ99FPY/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B00NZ99FPY&linkCode=as2&tag=omracerreview-21 I. Sumvision Psycs, I was playing Ridge Racer Type for on my UK PS TV a few weeks ago
So.... This doesn't work http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Adapter-Converter-Laptop-NoteBook/dp/B007PLL4CK/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1439716513&sr=1-1&keywords=hdmi+to+vga.
Sorry for bombarding you with questions ;-;
I used a Pysc Wave X1 and actually that works fine but the Vita TV does NOT do dual output, so streaming is pretty crap if you want to hear the sound separately if using a capture card http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NZ99FPY?keywords=wave%20x1&qid=1436131752&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
You can use an adapter to let other controllers work, but it must have a home button on it for the PSTV to recognize and let you use it.
Mayflash Universal Adapter works fine and is what I use with both a Dualshock 2 and wired 360 pad.
This sale has been going on for I think two weeks or so now. No idea how long it lasts, but thats where I got mine. If there happens to be anyone like me that got their first one because of the sale, a few tips for things I ran into:
*Hold the power button in 20 seconds once the system is setup after it's turned off to get the recovery menu. Pick option 4 and go through formatting the internal storage to remove the previous owner's linked PSN account.
*This sale price doesn't cover "Gamestop refurbished" PSTVs. By refurbished, that only means they go through resetting the system themselves instead of you having to do it, so make sure they don't sell you a used one at twice the cost.
*I use this controller adapter I saw linked here and it works great. My Dualshock 2 and wired 360 controllers both work fine, and is a great alternative to having to spend $50-$65 on a Dualshock 3/4 if you don't own a PS3/4.
*If you happen to have an older widescreen monitor, this HDMI to VGA adapter works. The only issue is the system has 1080i greyed out, but 720p works fine with audio out.
Something like this.
It's basically a range booster, that expands networks through electrical wiring, so you don't loose any signal between walls.
Of course, hard wired ethernet should also work
i didn't buy it from this place but it looks like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Sienoc-Female-Video-adapter-Color/dp/B00F8WFEZQ/ref=
i got mine from meritline but they seem to not have it any more.
