I got this bowl that reduces splash from messy dogs. Works well. I don’t know why, but the instructions say that it may take a week or two for the bowl to work. Worth the investment for my sloppy drinker. I still get some dribbles from my dog but nothing like I used to.
Some throw rugs might be helpful, washable ones are good for kitchens and rubber mats underneath so they don't slide. Bare hard floors aren't great for house animals.
Here is an example.
As the dog pulls away, it turns them to the side. Only way my stubborn old lab has ever walked on a leash without trying to tear my arm off.
its the kitchen aid version. which means its made of metal but costs 4 times as much as the regular version

that’s actually a bookshelf! the first time i saw one i was very confused and even more concerned, but my friend showed me its actually a bunch of small shelves. they’re pretty neat!
It's a gorilla. It has a hole in the bottom, similar to a kong toy. Great for teething pups or just heavy chewers. Mine loves his. Does look like a bum hole though.
I got mine this one for Christmas, and another got this puzzle. We just started so we will see how well this works, but it was an idea from my dog trainer.
Last New Year's some kind Reddit stranger recommended the happy hoodie. The reviews look good, I'm trying them this weekend. Calming treats don't go that far with my fur kids.
Good luck everyone.
A whole New World, a new fantastic point of view...
If you are a dude, and careful, you don't even need to get out from under the covers!
Try something like this. My girl will not get in a car without one

A rescue local to me has started using things like

To slow down their fast eaters. Those are just the first that came up on amazon for an example BTW
That's a pretty small water bowl. I felt so bad if I walked past my puppy's bowl and noticed that there was no water in it so I got him a automatic water bowl thing off Amazon. It's great you don't have to worry about your dog being thirsty in the heat just make sure there's still water in the big jug and you're good to go.
My dogs LOVE this bed! Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MUZAZS8/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Only downside, it's not super sturdy if you have a digger, but every dog in my house now has their own and they're aaaaalways in it.
Thunder shirts help tons!! I did a quick search on Amazon. here the price range is huge. Personally I wouldn't skimp here.
Aww! You should get your chilly pup a heated dog bed. I have one for my kitty and she loves nesting in it. :)
wow... This looks so much like the animal faces that Deep Dream finds in images.
Let's see what we get...
https://dreamscopeapp.com/i/RHVIGOY7Tv
Ok, so it kinda missed the actual face, but it made a cute little pomeranian with a lion cut out of that thing in the lower left. XD
Moose is 200 lbs so take my “it’s too small for him” with a grain of salt. I think it was this one: dog bed
You should consider something similar to this. I haven’t had to use a tie out stake in a long time, but those things are just incredibly annoying.
She looks amazing, what a gorgeous dog! Here’s a four pack on Amazon that might make it an hour before she loses them all under the couch!😂 At night all I see is a ball floating around in his mouth in the dark. Ikr?? It totally looks like one and it doesn't help that there's a bigger version.
I read it in a pet book once, I can’t remember what it was called so that’s pretty unhelpful. It was white with a green border, my mom and grandma both had it and I remember seeing it in lots of book stores around 15 years ago. Maybe someone here will recognize it and remember what’s it called. I remember it saying that rubbing the base of the tail was supposed to soothe a female cat/dog in heat. 🤷🏼♀️
Edit: Found the book on Amazon. The Doctor’s Book of Home Remedies
I guess it doesn’t have the green border anymore.
My Roxy did that when she was a puppy. She's too big now. I have several private areas for her to hang out. It drove me crazy to try to get to her under the bed so I blocked it off with these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HV8QRJ9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I needed two to go around my bed.
Jumping on the probably a cur bandwagon here. I was originally told boxer/shepard, but google says Blackmouth Cur and the personality fits 1000%. Bumi and I celebrating two years together at the beach.
I bought them on amazon. The back paws are HC Pets, which I hear are great for small dogs. The front paws were too bulky and made it hard for him to walk, but they are these.
Hey, wanted to give you a real response to the best I can. Sorry you’re getting the downvotes.
I had a dog who freaked out in an old school setup where we had to put the seatbelt through the harness - not ideal for anyone and seems outdated. Nowadays I use a harness and clip the chest for one dog and the back for another using this dog seatbelt from chewy. Most pet stores and likely Amazon have similar.
It’s nice and has worked well giving my pup enough room to readjust in the back seat, curl up a different way, or still stick their head out a window. I keep them tight enough to not allow tangling with another passenger or buckled pup so it kinda keeps them to “one” seat. It also can help keep my bigger dogs from getting in my face to say hi when I’m stopped at a light. It feels much safer and the peace of mind is nice.
I think of them like riding a bike with a helmet, it won’t save someone from every injury but it will surely reduce the severity of injuries. Just like with humans a quick stop, they’ll keep their seat; rear ended, they won’t go flying; t-boned and they won’t become a projectile to injure someone else.
One of my friends recently got this weighted hula hoop and basically it has a weighted ball that will swing around as you hula with it. Her malamute is super derpy and keeps trying to chase it around her even though it keeps hitting his face.
I think that tank needs to be themed around a bubble volcano but I know nothing about aquariums beyond Finding Nemo.
it’s something like this They were left in the field from when there were sheep being raised here but I don’t know exactly what brand we have
Lmao, oh! I got this kind & size, but from Walmart so it was only $30. Read some reviews that said the blue color rubbed off on stuff, so I got the pillowcase just in case (plus it's easier to clean that way and looks nicer.) I've never noticed any blue stains though.
I don't know why people are downvoting you for asking.
It may mean water with ice cubes, or it may mean water in a frozen bowl. You put the bowl in the freezer (usually overnight) and the gel inside freezes so the bowl itself is frozen.
There are a bunch of these bowls available, my dogs love them and I always keep a few frozen in the warmer months so that when we go outside their water stays cold. It is much easier than refilling the bowl with ice.
The only reason I keep a few frozen at a time is that it usually takes overnight to fully freeze.
In my experience Chewy has been really good for our pets. Their prices on food are very comparable to Amazon or even a few pennie’s less and arrives quickly with free shipping over $45 which isn’t hard to do. I checked on the cover we use and it’s called “Frisco quilted water resistant bench car seat cover, regular, black” and was $24.99 and is really good quality and holding up after 2 years. Amazon doesn’t carry that brand but others seemed to be priced a little higher than ours. It is totally worth it. I hope this helps!

I buy these treats for my dogs that freak the f out in shear terror every week when the garbage truck rolls around (I think they see it as a giant monster), granted they're pricey as far as dog treats go, but they seriously work. The first two weeks we gave each dog one treat per day, then found that we only needed one a couple of hours prior to trash pickup. After 3 packs, I'm certain we're close to not needing them anymore. One dog used to pee in our bed out of terror and it's stopped doing that.
lmao
it is a nylabone with months of chewing wear and tear
I bought mine 12 years ago, so I can't speak to current build quality, but this was the last and best slow feeder I bought after trying several of others that failed me.
I put my dog's kibble in there and a tiny bit of peanut butter on the hole to slow down how much could come out of it.
It was perfect for my insanely destructive shiba inu who could wreck a nylabone meant for 100-pound dogs in a matter of minutes. At first she'd roll it around to shake the kibble out, but eventually learned she could lay on her back, hold the bottom over her mouth and shake it with her paws to get all the hard-to-reach pieces. She had to WORK.
These don't hold a lot of kibble, so for a larger dog, you might need two of these or have to refill for a full meal.

The inflatable collars work for most things - my dogs tolerate them WAY better than the cone type, maybe because it doesn't mess with their peripheral vision as much.

Have you tried a licky mat? You take a textured mat of some sort I use silicone trivet type things (food safe) and you can spread some sort of substance they like (yogurt, peanut butter, wet dog food) and then it encourages them to lick somewhere safe. I haven’t seen them in a while but they make toys that are specifically designed for you to insert a empty small plastic bottle into it for the dog to play. They get that destructive crunching sound but can actually destroy the bottle so you don’t have to worry about your baby ingesting small plastic pieces.

I have one and have gifted family members them. Totally worth it. Works better than my vacuum for hair on the couch and the stairs. Works for my two shorthaired cats and bulldog mix, and my parents long-haired Aussie mix, and SIL's 3 cats ranging from shorthaired to the most majestic floof and two dogs (lab and pit mix).
This is an off brand that's $10 less. Its such a simple design, I'm not sure how it wouldn't be as good as the chom chom roller.
Amazon. I did a bunch of research and this seemed to be the best fit for our family. Didn't go with Moonpod because I liked the idea of something really wide. It's memory foam so super comfy!

No, it’s one of those chewy bones with filling. It’s kinda hard but not I guess. All I know is it’s not rawhide, so I’ve been giving those to him.
Get her something like this and she will not be as afraid and may even start liking car rides.
I would say maybe get her one of those ear muffs for dogs. They’re like $10 bucks. Worth a shot.

They address the stiffness and scratchiness problem and fabrics come out feeling just as nicely but without all the perfumes (and the towels actually absorb water again!)
huhhh I'm a dog groomer and I've never actually thought about this. Maybe a silicon based detangler? The silicon coats the hair shaft and makes it less porous, which makes it easier to brush and faster to blow-dry...so maybe it could prevent snow from freezing onto the hair? The product listing for The Stuff does say it repels dirt and other junk.
Someone in another comment posted a link to this anti-snowball cream, and the second ingredient is dimethicone, a type of silicon...so I'm thinking maybe I'm right?
Anyway. If anyone was interested in trying it out, I'd go for the The Stuff conditioner spray first. It's pretty widely used by professionals for detangling. Also, that anti-snowball cream is $19 for 8 ounces and The Stuff conditioner is $17 for 16 premixed ounces. You can buy it in concentrated form for even cheaper and it lasts literally forever, too.
good question lol
Our shorkie comes in covered head to toe in snowballs. We've been rinsing her off in lukewarm water which causes her to immediately tear around the house like a demon, as well as using paw balm- it gets old real fast. This looks promising.
Something like this
And this video can explain how to train your dog.
I let my dog walk on the right side of the bike so i am between any traffic and the dog, also i do not run with the dog, i let the dog walk on its normal walking speed which is about 8km/h.
Omg it works so well! I’d get this one because it has a brush, like nail polish. Just use a very thin layer, and allow it to dry completely. If you put too much on and it feels rough, I use a glass nail file to smooth it out (the more I talk about this, the more I’m realizing how totally fucked up it sounds, so that’s fun). Then before bed I use either Aquaphor or Vaseline and rub that shit all over my hands before bed, and put on cotton gloves so I don’t get greasy crap all over everything. Also, try Gold Bond healing hand cream- that shit is great. Best of luck! It’s seriously painful and annoying. If you and your brother’s hands are anything like mine, you’ll just randomly realize that you’re bleeding, and then you’re like “crap, did I get that on anything?” 😩

Oof on the laptops, sorry to hear it! There's some very reasonably priced brush/rag sets designed specifically for getting in all the little crevices of guitars.
This set is a good example. I found mine at a guitar store in an effort to avoid amazon a bit more, but from what I can tell they're all pretty similar for getting underneath the strings and whatnot.
Ah. My friends dog was doing this. We transitioned him to chewing with one of these toys. Licking is good, but eventually they try and gnaw, and then you can give him chewing toys in addition. I'm trying to legitimately understand, are you just outright against utilizing a kennel for a dog? Or are you actually confused between a cage and a kennel?
Because this is a picture of what appears to be the product HERE
If the point you are trying to make is that kennels are "cages" like a jailcell or something. You could not be further from the truth. WHEN USED PROPERLY a kennel is a very positive thing for your dog.
Stop being so close minded and actually do some research. Perhaps my boy can help you wrap your head around this a bit

They love the crinkly sound of water bottles. My brother bought one of these for his dog and just swaps the bottle out daily.
My dog has the same issue. I bought her silicone bowls from Amazon and use it without the metal bowl.
To add to op we had the same problem but ours’ refused the boots. I found some grippy foot stickers that he was much more tolerant of. Worked great even if we had to reply them every couple of days.
I don't think it's this one specifically but it seems similar enough. I just looked for 'repeating stuffed animal toy'.

It’s called a Troog. It actually came as part of a free supplies pack from the rescue I got her from, and right from the start it was her favorite toy. That one is actually like her 6th or 7th one, they are tough as hell, but she always manages to eventually break them apart. For some reason only the “Sportsman” version is available on Amazon. The only difference is that it’s bright orange.
I use recovery suit for dogs .. those cones are awful.
Dude, you should really brush that rug. Use the same brush you'd use on the dog. Be gentle, and it will fluff back up nicely. If it's dirty, you can get detergent to wash it in your washing machine. Just be sure and follow the instructions on the detergent bottle. https://www.amazon.com/Outback-Natural-Conditions-Sheepskin-Essential/dp/B079TMN4VH/
I have two sheepskin rugs that I maintain with that stuff. They are in the same condition as the day I bought them because I wash and brush them every couple of years or so.
What about booties that have rubber on the bottom for better traction? 100% she will HATE them at first, but if you keep at it she’ll adjust. Better pairs that they have more trouble getting out of have a cinch-able strap around the ankle (as compared to the sock style booties that they get out of in seconds flat). There’s a really cute pair here.
However...in searching for the type that worked best for my pup I found these. I’ve never tried them before or heard anything about them, but the reviews are all good. (Hopefully that link brings you to the Amazon Smile page, rather than regular Amazon. You can pick your own charities and have a tiny percentage of your Amazon purchases go to them. These are what he demands to have. Its crazy.
Yep I had a golden who was a basket case of anxiety and car rides were like that with her. I don't know how well your life can accommodate it, but I recommend a (dog car seat with leash hooks)[https://www.amazon.com/URPOWER-100-Waterproof-Hammock-Scratch-Nonslip/dp/B0727Y5ZD7/ref=sxin_13_ac_m_pm?ac_md=2-1-QmV0d2VlbiAkMjUgYW5kICQ1MA%3D%3D-ac_d_pm&cv_ct_cx=dog+car+seat&dchild=1&keywords=dog+car+seat&pd_rd_i=B0727Y5ZD7&...] which helped our Cassie with her nervous pacing back and forth if we cracked the window enough to get her snoot through to get a good sniff. Unfortunately we couldn't open the window wider for her because she was an escape risk - poor girl would OBSESS about barriers and doors to the point where she would panic through them without thinking what was on the other side.
Hmm. Looks like it’s not available at the moment but I’m sure you can find one somewhere! It’s pretty great, way bigger than I thought

I gotta send a shout out to Root Chews here (cuz it looks like one), one of them just totally pacified my dog, again. He goes to town on it when he needs to blow off some chewing energy and then collapses happily.
My mom has a vest for her blind pup. For the most part people ask about it and how to best approach her.
I think this works better than the collar because it’s bright and large. She only wears it to crowded events and it tends to get her extra pats (after they ask).
They have tall stands for dog bowls. I'd suggest something like this so he can't flip it. It's also supposed to help with gas.
Not that you're doing anything wrong, have you thought about : https://www.amazon.com/OSPet-Water-Anti-Choking-Dripless-Breeds/dp/B07DPG4T9Z/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1TJ4PCPKRYMY8&keywords=slow+water+bowl+dogs&qid=1550126294&s=gateway&sprefix=slow+water+%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
something similar? He'll get frustrated with it and eventually stop snorting the water.

I had a cat that did that. I had to put these things on all my doors, meant to prevent babies from slamming the door and crushing their fingers, because my Bear lived to get behind doors and paw at them until they slammed shut, then he’d cry to be let out. It was ok when I was home, but very upsetting for everyone when he locked himself in while I was at work.
