Google Fonts is a good source for fonts that are free to use!! ( fonts.google.com )
And if you have an Adobe account you can use Adobe Fonts. ( fonts.adobe.com ). Both galleries are cleared for personal and commercial use, so you can use them without worries.
When using fonts for commercial clients you have to get a license for commercial use (there are different kinds but it is always well explained when you are purchasing one). Make sure the font comes with a license when you buy/download it before using it in your branding. If your project is purely educational and without intend on making money, you should be fine without a license. Though, I am not sure so best to check thoroughly. When in doubt, Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts are your best friends!!! :D
I like it, though it feels a little dated. I would maybe just stick with one colour and play with negative space more. Maybe avoid the pointy curved line because it might not scale well. Take my advice with a grain of salt though, I might not understand the backstory (what are for example the brand values). The font doesn't match that well with the logo, maybe try the font Overpass!!! :D It has a similar vibe with the diagonal cuts on the ascenders and descenders, but just a bit cleaner. It also has a lot of variants.
You should also look into the scaling an positioning. Because of the blank space on the right of the icon it looks like the name is not centered.
All in all, this is a solid logo but it just doesn't jump out enough, it will work for its purpose but it is always a lot more fun when it just fits the brand perfectly and embraces its values.
Here is a link to the suggested font: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Overpass
Have fun with it :D
not that its bad but its a standard to give the y a tail otherwise the letter is not consistent. if you're not going to give it a tail, its best to not give the other letters a tail either. examples
Oh i forgot to mention the author of the mockup, i took it from freepik. Here is the link to the mockup: <a href='https://www.freepik.com/psd/logo'>Logo psd created by asylab - www.freepik.com&lt;/a>
OH yeah, that really pops off the page. By mockups I was talking about t-shirts, business cards, company signage, coffee mugs, etc. You can find a lot around the internet like these:
Get PS and Ai that's the best tool for this job man also you can try this website which is a PS Clone just free version... You can try and see if this helps! Link: https://www.photopea.com/
Edit: Also supports Ai and CDR and some other formats try it it's free and useful.
This is great. I know it's a fantasy brief, but some solid stuff here. Your design imo is so much better that your competition: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Cool-Challenge-Selection-containing/dp/B08C9YDYWQ/ref=asc_df_B08C9YDYWQ/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=430805691068&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=854694914253696495&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hv...
Inkscape is free, give that a shot. Although I would suggest switching to Illustrator if you want to get more serious. It is far more robust.
As far as what to charge, do not sell yourself short! For a while there I was only charging $15/hr for logo design. I then bumped it up to $30/hr, then $40/hr, etc.
I recently switched to the "package" model which is a flat rate of $500 for a logo, business cards, and any additional collateral.
Good luck!
Awesome attitude! Read this book if your stuck: Logo Design Love
Also check out using grids. I’m not great with typography. I usually play it safe and stick with either Adobe Fonts or Hoefler Type.
i would change the colors
they are way to vibrant
look on https://color.adobe.com/de/explore that site vor your colors
trust me you will find your color theme ;)
Ugh, its my first time on Reddit Idk how this works so I will post my words here:
There isnt really any context to the Logo. I thought of a word first one to come up was "VOID"
I tried to keep it as simple as possible while keeping it a little iconic.

I designed a concept poster for KFC, and it is my very first of doing something like that. Drawings are from freepik.
