This meme is wrong.
Democracy is an -archy; it wants rule by the masses. What anarchists want is no rulers. Democracy is inherently anti-anarchist.
> Is anarchism extremely misrepresented in the media
Yes. TVTropes calls it 'bomb-throwing anarchists.' Media focuses only on the violence and ignores the rest of anarchist thought or practice. Anarchism is also depicted as being only chaos, again, without engaging with anarchist thought. One of the exceptions is The Dispossessed, by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Anarchism is anti-hierarchy. Given that capitalism and private property create and reinforce hierarchy (especially when capital uses government to inflict violence against the workers and the marginalized to protect its own interests), anarchism necessarily opposes both.
Easiest way to find anarchist writings is through The Anarchist Library.
I suggest reading Conquest of Bread - Chapter III: Anarchist Communism. There, Kropotkin makes a pretty compelling case that:
> Every society, on abolishing private property will be forced, we maintain, to organize itself on the lines of Communistic Anarchy. Anarchy leads to Communism, and Communism to Anarchy, both alike being expressions of the predominant tendency in modern societies, the pursuit of equality.
It is pretty good reading, and not long.
The whole debate about democracy is really semantics. Anarchists advocate no rule, but self-autonomy. Consensus is one way of making group decisions, but people will always be free to opt out, have their own association, or dissent, and debate. The individual’s autonomy is always the basis, and there is no government over them. Anarchists support cooperation and free associations, not democracy in the conventional sense. Perhaps these help clarify:

Always thought this was a good read to get the philosophy behind it down but the Anarchist Library has some good stuff too
ZLibrary has a good collection and usually provides multiple file formats for download.
The Anarchist Library (Also linked in the sidebar here) does too but I find the site design is less easy to navigate.
Umberto Eco wrote Ur Fascism.....he grew up as a fascist in Italy but when Mussolini was killed when he was a teen and then discovered leftist ideologies.
Raddle's wiki has a great set of explanations of anarchism. Their ancom article is a good one. I hope you'll continue to come around and post--one of the best ways to learn is through discussion and application.
"The Conquest of Bread" by Kropotkin is a classic in this area, but if you want something a bit easier to read I would look at "What is Communist Anarchism" by Berkman. You can find both of them for free at the Anarchist Library
Unfortunately, no. Tails only works on x86, 64-bit CPUs. If you want to browse with Tor on Android, there is an official Tor Browser for Android app.
