Not all, but it is common with antidepressants with SSRI activity.
Price et al, 2009. Emotional side-effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors: qualitative study. The British Journal of Psychiatry, 195(3), pp.211-217.
> Almost all participants described not caring about things that used to matter to them and attributed this change to their SSRI antidepressant. They cared less about themselves, about other people and about the consequences of their actions...
> Many participants described a general feeling of indifference to things in life that used to matter to them. Many participants described feeling apathetic and unmotivated, despite their illness having improved and attributed this apathy to their antidepressant.

There are non-SSRI antidepressants, like bupropion and MAOIs. I suggest a referral to a psychiatrist rather than a GP to really tackle this.
This is the only case of serotonin syndrome I have come across.
I don't know what you mean by "recently" but iirc SS comes on within minutes to a few hours of starting the med (or increasing the dose). Thus, the timing is probably the best indicator you have. You can check other symptoms here, but quite frankly if it is SS, only a doc can tell you. If it is/has gotten worse (or happens again if you decide to try the new dose again), then go to the ER and stop taking the new dose, along with talking to your prescriber.
I'm not going to tell you one thing or another, as it could be a coincidence, it could be a side effect from increasing the dose, or it could be SS, given the little info you've provided (and since I'm not a doctor nor experienced with SS). Regardless, if this is med related, it may be worth considering not staying at this new dose.
Sounds like withdrawals to me. I'm weaning off Zoloft, and those are some of the withdrawals I'm experiencing as well.
I use 5HTP at the moment (currently at 25mg, half a 50mg pill, twice per day) to help with the withdrawals. The pills I get are the Natrol brand and they're easy to break with your fingers. I used to take a full pill everyday, but I know your body can start to rely on 5HTP as well, and I'm getting low on my Zoloft dose and don't want to go through withdrawals with 5HTP as well.
Benadryl helps too. I have no clue how it helps, but I had to take it one day when my allergies were horrible and my withdrawals subsided. I looked into it to see if it was a fluke, and it's reccomended to help withdrawals.
Also started Luvox recently
Porn desensitizes dopamine receptors and can cause sexual dysfunction. If you got a numb dick I'd stop.
Pansterone and 11-keto-dht here. To purchase 11-keto-dht go to lab r&d section put metergoline in basket and before purchasing in the notes box ask for 11-keto-dht instead of metergoline:
If you’ve been through something hard, maybe your mind and body just need some time to heal. It’s ok to do nothing, it can be rest not laziness. Don’t forget that :) I saw you said you can’t afford therapy. Remember there are so many self help resources available online. Even reading a book could help - there is one called why has nobody told me this before which is a beginners guide in a way to mental health. Simplistic if you’ve had therapy before but a good start if you’ve not. Helps give you insight into how you’re thinking and feeling. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Why-Nobody-Told-This-Before/dp/0241529719/ref=nodl_?dplnkId=9089203a-7984-434c-85a3-4d5dc36ee42c Another thing is online therapy which is cheaper like better help. Also try and force yourself to exercise. Literally say to your tomorrow and 10am I am going to walk for half an hour. Put headphones if you want and go and do it. You will definitely feel better for it.
I read reviews that this scale is supposed to be one of the best for getting very accurate measurements for tapering.
If there's absolutely any way you can avoid doing either, that would be ideal. Since you're still figuring out your dose, if there's a lot of inconsistency it's going to be impossible to figure out if the meds are working, if they're causing side effects, or if it's just your irregular schedule.
Some ideas (feel free to ignore the ones you've already tried):
Here's what I have (2 for $6.00!), with days clearly marked. Just keep it where you can't miss it! Good luck!
I take these
Welcome to my life, lol. I think you'll be okay skipping it today. But buy this right now:
Forgetting whether or not I took my meds was the #1 reason I missed doses. This tells you how long it's been since you opened the bottle. There's lots of different versions so please feel free to shop around if you want to find a better price, but I can't recommend this enough. Order immediately.
You're wise to taper, but you're tapering too fast.
> Is there a better way to taper?
Yes. Please see the comment by /u/One_Pianist_4114.
> I also have medical marijuana for anxiety and panic attacks and I worry that by using both I might be doing something wrong
If you take both cannabis and mental-health drugs, it's ideal to have one single doctor who prescribes both. If you don't have this, at least try to tell each doctor what the other doctor has been prescribing, and at what dose.
I don't think that SSRI drugs (e.g. fluoxetine) or benzodiazepine drugs (e.g. Valium, Xanax, clonazepam) are generally wise treatment choices for anxiety or panic attacks. See, for example, Anatomy of an Epidemic by Robert Whitaker.
A.) Have you tried CBT or any other psychotherapy?
B.) Do you exercise? If so, how often?
C.) If we think of any other suggestions, do you want them?
Sexual dysfunction is a common side effect of SSRI meds. You may also want to check out /r/pssd
Wow. You're the second person I've head of saying NHS doesn't take complaints seriously unless you're suicidal. That's too bad.
I don't know why they think Zoloft at a high dose is safe or wise for you. One thing to keep in mind is you are supposed to back out of anti-depressants carefully and slowly, if you decide to go off them. The US mass shooter James Holmes was on Zoloft. He wrote in his diary that it made him manic, but not good mania. His doc upped his dose. He might also have been a Vicodin addict. (An opiod painkiller)
I doubt you could convince a doctor of this, but a Turkish doctor accidentally found out something that might apply to you.
He was using an antidepressant to treat social anxiety disorder (sad). Some patients became manic. He determined that everyone who became manic had sad complicated by adhd, and everyone who was like that (sad + adhd) became manic on the antidepressant.
He found that adding Concerta, which is time-release methylphenidate (Ritalin in the US, for adhd) kept the adhd/sad patients from switching into mania. He eventually found that Concerta alone was effective in the adhd/sad people, and the plain sad people. So, nor more antidepressants needed.

I can second this. I came off similar meds using this method without having issues. I used these types of tubes to reduce slowly over time. https://www.amazon.com/Aysekone-Non-Sterile-Centrifuge-Microcentrifuge-Polypropylene/dp/B07D5GX63X/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=small+tubes+with+caps+chemistry+graduated&qid=1630898883&sr=8-3#immersive-view_1630898926448
Doctor's Best High Absorption Magnesium Glycinate on Amazon. Last I checked on labdoor it had the best cost vs quality rating.
Depending on your issues Cognitive Behavioural Therapy might be a better fit. Also here’s a book that helped me A LOT!!!

Not to toot the app, because I don't care which you use, but I care about you give it a try! Mine pops up heavy and will only let you confirm it or snooze it for 30 minutes. Its reminded me everytime gl!
MyTheraphy (Not sure if you use apple) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.smartpatient.mytherapy
Also, I bought these headbands from Amazon for my excessive sweating. I have a big forehead and your forehead produces the most sweat per square inch on your body or something (don't quote me lol). Sure I may look silly at times but it was better than sweat pouring in my eyes all day.
Sometimes you have to have to eat before taking your meds.
Drink lots of water.
Also, I've found recently found this that helps with nausea/vertigo from AD drugs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2TDG64/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use one of these 7-day pill organizers
Does it make me feel like an old lady? Yes.
Does it help me keep on schedule with my AD and other supplements? Definitely.
> Prebiotics
I am still taking them, it's been about 1.5 months. I do feel a little different, but still on Lexapro and do not really plan on coming off anytime soon (been on Celexa/Lexapro for 20+ years). I was just interested in some studies I read about and wanted to see what would happen.
I started using this for the first month and felt happier, but that was probably placebo effect - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079H53D2B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Then I read a study about strands for depression/anxiety and found this, which I currently take. I personally felt better on the other one, but like I said I think it was placebo effect. I will take it for a few months and see what happens - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZMO7UKW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Good luck.
This reusable bottle has a timer cap that resets when you open it - it’s saved me

Please don’t feel too discouraged. This is the kind I’ve tried in case you’re interested - https://www.amazon.com/Hemp-Anti-Anxiety-Anti-Stress-Supplement-Friendly/dp/B07NDMRFY3. To be clear - I DO feel a difference on this. I might liken it to the way I feel after maybe one beer - just a little mellow and maybe a touch woozy. (Granted I’m a lite weight) It’s just not going to feel like Xanax. That’s all.
Yep, I take one a day, but if I miss a day or 2, it's not a big deal, the ibs issues don't come back or anything. It's a capsule, I just take it with water in the evening. I buy mine on Amazon
Edit to add: no, I've not tried any other probiotics.
