It's not just some assumption made from looking at a chart. It's actually a complicated formula based on a lot of factors. You need to go to astro.com and get the report that tells you your dominant planet. Here's a linked screenshot of what to select on the page .

Go to the Extended Charts page (from home page, under Free Horoscopes, then under Drawings & Calculations).

Under "Sections" select the "Pullen/Astrolog" tab.

Then under "Chart Type", select the last one in the list, "Simple chart delineation by Walter Pullen".

You'll get a very long page of text. (See bottom half of linked screenshot). Scroll about 2/3 the way down til you find a section with the column headings;
*Planet-Position-Aspects-Total-Rank-Percent*

The planet with the highest % score is your dominant planet.

Right under that particular table, you can see what your dominant sign is also.
I think this is the sort of thing you’re looking for, a book or chart of ephemeris (ephemerides?): The American Ephemeris 1950-2050 at Midnight https://www.amazon.com/dp/1934976288/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_417KE83ZT2WDNN16KGDW
I don’t know the best way to figure out your rising sign though. Here’s a chart (mine was off, but maybe that was due to daylight savings time): https://www.asktheastrologers.com/whats-my-rising-sign/
I've always resisted naming specific books, since people have different tastes and reasons for being into astro. And there are so many great ones!
But if I were to rec some books based on what you've already read, I would name these two to go with next: The Inner Sky and The Twelve Houses. They're both accessible and imo enjoyable reads.
You might also want to read some books on traditional astro right away too, but that depends on if you're into that branch. I think it's important to eventually read at least one book on that, though.
A book that I've really enjoyed for basics and also taking a good look at my own birth chart has been "Astrology for Yourself: A Workbook for Personal Transformation."
FYI the book does try to prompt you to order a birth chart from a service, but this isn't necessary as you can get your birth chart for free online on sites like astro.com and others.
Here it is on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0892541229/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GSX0ZY2MT44QXX2WD0PV
Liz Greene is a long-time and well-known Jungian astrologer (founded and ran the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London). She was granted access by Jung's family to his private library, and has written many books. Her book "Neptune and the Quest for Redemption" is a tome of over 500 pages. It's one many of us in astrology bought when it came out. If you want the mythology, it's the book.
A blulrb about the book:
>Liz Greene explores Neptune themes in literature, myth, politics, religion, fashion, and art to show how its energy is manifested. Deception, illusion, addiction, renunciation, karmic obligation, creativity, love, relationships--all are explored. The Mythology of Neptune, The Psychology of Neptune, Neptune and the Collective, and the Neptune Cookbook exhaustively treat the subject for both astrologers and students of symbolism.
You may find additional information on the school site linked above.
I don't know if it's rare but my grand earth and water trine confuse the hell out of me.
Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune in Capricorn 2nd house trine MC in Virgo trine Jupiter in Taurus 6th house. Wtf am I even supposed to do as a job??! I know trines can mean that you have a lot of potential but are lazy. I just don't even know what to do for a career. I am very artistic and sensitive so naturally I am unhappy in most jobs available. Plus my ethics and morals are very hard to satisfy in most jobs, like sales which seems to be the only thing I'm good at that makes $ and I hate it!!
Plus my North node is in Pisces 4th house so should I even care about a career?!?
I have a grand water trine with my Ascendant in Scorpio (conjunct Psyche exact) trine North Node in Pisces 4th house, trine Vesta in Cancer 8th house. I know these aren't major planets but I feel like it's important. North Node in Pisces 4th house is soooo confusing to me I don't even know what to do.
What aspects would be considered rare anyways? Here is my chart if anyone can spot one or tell me.
There's a theory that we cycle through the sun signs. Each sign has something to teach and something to learn, Linda Goodman discusses this and the role of karma in her writing. You can view the lessons here: https://www.docdroid.net/f4ry/linda-goodman-love-signs-pdf#page=36
Our North Node is supposed to reflect the role of our past lives and also give us guidance for this one.
Well
>I'm about to just say "f it!" and learn to read the Ephemeris.
Well, lol. Yes. If you're serious about astrology, you need to use an ephemeris.
But. If you want live animation of moving a chart forward, you could buy Solar Fire for a mere $360.
My best, and budget-friendly recommendation is the Astro Gold app. Yes, it's an app, BUT if you install the free Bluestacks on your desktop, it let's you use the app ON your desktop as a program, full screen if you wish. It's fantastic. I love this functionality. And Astro Gold has an animator. You can choose to move forward or backward by any chosen number of minutes, hours, days, months or years. The app is $20 for Android and twice that (of course) for iPhone. I don't, however, actually know if Bluestacks runs on a Mac. I'm thinking not. But Astro Gold is available for iPad (as well as iPhone), if that helps.
You can certainly enter any time and date into astro.com. There's a simple quick way to adjust chart times and dates, but you have to use the Extended Chart Selection page. Once you are actually on the page viewing the chart you've made, notice the little link to right of the field that displays which of your saved charts you are working with. It says "Edit birth data". Clicking it let's you do just that. What's nice is, it takes you right back to the chart you were viewing, just with the modified data, without going through the chart settings page. So, while it's not animated, it's pretty quick. I just keep a saved chart named Temporary Data, for this very purpose.
For an academic approach to astrology I highly recommend Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View by Richard Tarnas.
It was written by a PhD who couldn’t understand why so many smart people in history were into astrology. He started out as a total skeptic but actually taught himself how to calculate charts and couldn’t believe how accurate they are. The book contains a lot of illustrative examples of how different historical and scientific developments exactly reflect the planetary environment of the time.
Note: he did not learn pop astrology through social media. There is a major difference in quality there. If you really want to understand and appreciate astrology you may have to spend a good deal of time actually studying it. Systematically.
P.S. The Tarnas book was required reading for a course I took in college. It was not an astrologer training course but an academic course.
Edit: typos
I highly highly recommend this book.
https://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Psyche-Intimations-World-View/dp/0452288592
It was written for an audience of academics and skeptics.
Astrology has no proof, it would better be stated as a "Theory of Astrology" akin to the "Theory of Gravity". or the "Theory of Evolution". It validates its observations through correspondence. Much like man-made Global Warming has no 'proof', but simply a correspondence between average global climate temperature and carbon emissions. (Neuropsychology works in the same manner as well. There is no proof that brain patterns cause certain emotions in consciousness, simply correspondences.)
There are lots of articles online about MHD generators which originally got me into magneto hydrodynamics. There are textbooks available on Amazon about MHD in stars. One particularly is my favorites are those which cover MHD effects in Binary Star Pairs.
Look up these keywords to find data: MHD Solar Stellar Interstellar Magnetosphere Heliospheric Plasma Physics Astrophysics
If what you're familiar with at this point is sign descriptions, then learning about planets, aspects, and houses would be a great next step. With learning to read charts as your goal, I think The Inner Sky and The Twelve Houses would be great books to read next.
As I mentioned in a similar post though today, I'm hesitant to rec books bc there are lots of great ones, we all like different styles, and what we're hoping to get out of astro varies. But since you want to read charts, I think these two would help get you closer to that. : )
I personally love astro books that are very philosophical and do a deep dive into certain planets and concepts, but I think those would probably be some ppl's idea of torture--hmph!! ;) The ones I rec'd are more directly relevant for developing the ability to read charts. I hope you have fun with whatever you end up reading!
I'm dead.
This is a great ad and would make me buy it if I didn't already have Astrological Charts <em>PRO</em> on Android for the low, low price of 19.50.
If you use an apple device it costs 10 more because <reasons>.
Hey /u/screamphilling, first off, thanks so much for putting forth your efforts. However, when I exported the PDF ephemeris to CSV, this is what came out:
As you can see, it does not come out cleanly. Normally, I'd go, "Well, that's fine, I'll just clean up the data!" and delimit it somehow. However, since the CSV data consolidated directs, retrogrades, and signs, cleaning up that data will be a manual and painstaking process that I'm trying to avoid in favor of automated solutions.
One of the fundamental tenets of good IT design is that what you put in is what you get out. If you have to do a lot manual set up to begin with, you're going to be manually supporting it down the line.
So, you want IT design where you set up an automated, modular process that is easy to support down the line. Imagine if we have to add columns years from now for some future discovered planet. I don't want to have to manually enter in the data one row by one row.
I think it's important that you understand your learning style. I've read 2 books on introductory astrology (western tradition), and I'll recommend them both with caveats:
The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need is nice. It focuses on sun and moon signs, with lengthy descriptions of each element of the zodiac, relationships, and the like. It provides a lot of descriptions about everything, which doesn't serve me well, but may benefit you, if you prefer that. It also seeks to be a solid foundation for astrological study (hence, "Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need), but left a lot for my technical mind to be desired.
Astrology for Yourself: How to understand and Interpret Your Own Birth Chat was what I needed for things to really click. It's really a workbook, which allows you to step through your (or someone else's) chart, explaining the significance of each sign, planet, house, aspect, etc. It's a lot more brief, but an accessible, technical introduction to the art. I know a local astrologer uses that book in her classes, as well.

My, my cold hearted child, tell me how you feel Just a blade in the grass, spoke unto the wheel My, my cold hearted child, tell me where it's all gone All the luster of your bones, those arms that held you strong
I been worryin' that my time is a little unclear I been worryin' that I'm losing the one's I hold dear I been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear
My, my cold hearted child, tell me how you feel Just a grain in the morning air, dark shadow on the hill My, my cold hearted child, tell me where it all falls All this apathy you feel will make a fool of us all

If you use an Android then Astrovizor is the best app for this. I can scroll from 9999 BC to 9999 AD and watch the planets move as I scroll. Not sure if you need the paid version to go back this far though.
I use Astro Gold. $20 for Android, $40 for iPhone/Pad.
It's not going to give you a bunch of social stuff like some other apps. Nor is it going to give you transit prompts, thank goodness. Don't need that stuff on a daily basis. But that info is there if you open it.
It's a more serious astro app perhaps. Can do biwheels, transits, etc., and it will both list aspects (and in biwheels you can choose whether you get synastry aspects, or choose either of the person's aspects in just their natal chart). It also gives interpretations of each aspect.
Has an animation feature which lets you move the chart forward or backward by minute, hour, day, month and year.
I love that I can use the app full screen on my PC desktop by installing Bluestacks (free). Though this is not availabe for iPhone/Pad/Mac. It's a great function, especially useful for finding electional charts.
I like Astro Gold. But it is $20 for android and twice that for iphone. Most other apps have tiered payments anyway though. I really like that I can install the free bluestacks on my pc which lets me use Astro Gold (or any android app) on my desktop. On either phone or desktop I can also animate the chart forwards and backwards by minute, hour, or day, etc. My biggest complaint is their color choices, but I can live with that.
I'd also say Time Passages is decent.
I don't have in-depth knowledge on the topic, but I did read a lot on it earlier this year. Here is a OneTab of helpful links that helped me understand it all: https://www.one-tab.com/page/sNsRH58bTF2V8uKL6xSMlg. I would also suggest looking at Astrodienst's free Lot Charts (one of the articles has a link in it to it). Good luck!
I’d be happy to try and share what I’ve been learning. It would be ideal to queue up with you for a Discord call or something (even if you’d like to keep your mic muted and respond in text). Just DM me.
Otherwise, check out The Astrology Podcast’s video on “Essential Dignities.” The host Chris Brennan also has a magnificent book.
Edit: grammar.
Planetary Magick: The Heart of Western Magick (Llewellyn's High Magick Series) Is something I'm reading at the moment and is very informative you can find the kindle edition on amazon. I hope it helps! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004G8QLL4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_K564EVZYH1RT09ZYSSMA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'm sorry to hear that! My favorite one is just called Astrological Charts, it is a paid app and I can't remember how much $$ it was, but I think it was reasonably cheap and one-time payment. I've had it for over 6 years now and have always been very happy with it. It's not THE prettiest or most aesthetic, but it's still very good in my humble opinion https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=astro_charts.astro_charts I can't imagine how much it'd suck if this app wasn't around anymore. I'm too used to it!
I really liked The Little Book of Saturn, by Aliza Einhorn. It's a good read, and it has a good section on Saturn returns.
Instead of looking at the sign on the cusp (if no planets reside in the house) you need to look at the ruler of the house. How is the ruler positioned? Is the ruler in detriment or fall? Is the ruler poorly aspected? Is the ruler combust or otherwise debilitated? The ruler of the house controls the affairs of the house.
I definitely recommend this book by Stephen Arroyo, it was in-depth, not super expensive, and a FANTASTIC read. I STILL reference this book here a year later.
So for you, look to Mars & Saturn to evaluate.
Hi 😊 if you are interested in asteroids I suggest to read this book : "THE TRANSITS OF CHIRON AND ECHECLUS THE ASTEROIDS-COMETS: WITH 25 EXAMPLES USING FAMOUS PEOPLE". It is very good https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092L18X5Q
Astrology for Yourself: How to Understand And Interpret Your Own Birth Chart https://www.amazon.com/dp/0892541229/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_cFbA2OiwBjo1Z
Look into this work book, it might be a good idea!
An excellent book that uses the house:sign correspondence is The Twelve Houses by Howard Sasportas. I highly rec it if "modern astro" is what you're interested in learning and practicing. It's my favorite modern write-up about the houses, by far. It's not cheap, but the kindle version is $20, which isn't so bad.
It's important to read about other meanings of the houses too that Sasportas might not focus on or even explicitly mention. You can get a good list of that here.
These two sources combined will give you a strong foundation for doing a "modern astro" reading of a chart! :D There are different ways to practice astrology -- like Hellenistic, which is a popular branch of trad astro rn, especially here on Reddit -- but trad methods aren't the only ways to read a chart or think about astro. Whatever route you go, learning more about astrology can be fascinating and illuminating. I hope you enjoy! :)

AFAIK it's The Book on the matter.
It's a basic android phone! That's all I can afford :p https://www.amazon.com/Xiaomi-Redmi-Factory-Unlocked-Smartphone/dp/B07YJHXZT6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=xiaomi+mi+a2&qid=1609268715&sr=8-2
Though mine is an even lower version and costs around 136 usd
Sure. I have a program. She will show you everything by date of birth and show you how you can compensate. Well, if you are interested, of course.
This is not an advertisement *. I myself have lost a lot in my life during a similar period. Therefore, if someone asks about the changes during this period, I cannot but answer.

Don't be intimidated. What I did was elementary, just adding together factors. A book I have always liked, out-of-print but a little hardcover edition can easily be scored on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Astrology-Teach-Yourself-Jeff-Mayo/dp/0340055138/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
What I like is it that it's concise and has keywords that are almost universally applicable to charts.
As far as the US is concerned, you may want to check out this Astrology Podcast episode on the birth chart of the US and why there are so many different versions and why some versions are favored over others: https://theastrologypodcast.com/2020/04/28/what-is-the-birth-chart-of-the-united-states/
There is actually a book that has the charts for many countries (Book of World Horoscopes https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1902405153/) and they mention it in this episode, but you can also try AstroDatabank (linked in the episode’s show notes) to get the charts for other nations.
There's a great android app called SkyMap. Hold your phone up to the sky, move it around, and you get a live pic of the constellations right then, from your location. Just remember, it will show the *constellations*, NOT what we use in astrology, which is the zodiac. So, via the app, mars might look to be in Virgo on the screen, but for western astrology purposes, he's in Leo, etc.
No doubt there's a similar app for iphones.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.stardroid
Wow this is a mindfuck lol. I have Venus in the 12th also in Aries. I love scary movies and violent media also but not very much violent in my personal life unless I have to be.
I'm watching Spartacus right now, reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius also. Are you me lol? Thanks a lot though that was a good reply
A great intro text is <em>The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology</em> by April Elliott Kent. This book has been an invaluable resource for me and is great to read all the way through or use as a reference. I'm also relatively new to astrology, and my aunt who's been practicing for several years now recommended this text to me. I haven't read anything by Chris Brennan, but she says it's great but a bit dense and probably not the most approachable for a beginner.
I think the best absolute beginner text is this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Astrology-Using-Wisdom-Stars-Everyday/dp/1465464131
It’s simple, easy access, covers all the basics and looks pretty too.
All of my friends started sending me their charts as well as the charts of all of their dating app matches (lol). I also started doing horaries and Solar Return charts for friends' birthdays, and experimenting with studying timing methods for myself! Eventually when I got into friend-of-a-friend and friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend chart-reading territory, I started charging a small fee.
I tend to just reference Rex Bill's book of rulerships daily + I incorporate whatever method I've been studying. A book I love to recommend for chart readers at any level is Under One Sky, where 16 or so astrologers read the same chart.
On another thread that I started on unaspected planets, a user suggested this book. I haven't bought it yet, but it is called "The Yod Book." :)
If you want the "play-by-play" and the how/why 1 becomes 2 but requires 3 and can only be appreciated through the 4 (plus the more difficult-to-grasp notions the 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 convey), then there is one book that explains it all very, very well.
In fact I bought the book to learn about the Arabic Parts/Lots, but the whole first half is essentially layman's number theory with a detailed understanding of the roots of esoteric astrology.
Robert Zoller's
The Arabic Parts in Astrology: A Lost Key to Prediction
The book is up there with "Dynamics of Aspect Analysis" and several works by Crowley, Coppock, and Kenneth Grant (which are far more geared toward occultists than asdtrologers: but it's all the same if looking for the 'roots' of reality).
Mythic Astrology has some pretty good stuff in it -- with signs being attributed to their ruling planets and the archetype -- Pisces with Neptune, God of the Sea. It's an interesting read.

Completely agree with the above book recommendation but just to correct a typo, it’s by Carole Taylor, not Clare Taylor.
I also highly recommend Astrology For Yourself by Demetra George and Douglas Bloch. It’s an interactive workbook-style book that provides exercises to really help you put the principles being taught into practice and reinforce the lessons covered:
If you’re going to study online or thru YouTube, I strongly encourage you to vet the sources. For example, are the sources/teachers associated with any writings or astrology schools? Have they presented at any conferences? Are they teaching any other classes? There is some great stuff out there, but also a lot of crap, and you really need to use discernment and put a little research into who you’re learning from. Ultimately, when you’re able, I urge you to enroll in paid classes and attend astrology conferences when you can. That’s really where you’re going to get the most valuable and credible astrology education. Good luck!
This is one of my absolute favorite books that breaks down the elements/modes/sign/planets and starts giving an idea of how to read planets in a sign/house in chart.
It's NOT the only astrology book you'll ever need, but it definitely one of the best beginner books I've found. I've lent it to a few friends during their learning journeys and they really enjoyed it.

Hey no apology needed, just read I have the book I read it like all the time because it’s super healing and speaks to your heart as well as helps a lot. If you wanna know more pm me
8th stellium here also. Just dl'd this the other night on kindle unlimited. It's very simplistically written with multiple redundancies, but it covers all the bases - including loneliness.
Hello world,
I have been crafting a multi-dimensional correspondence table using Notion. The table currently connects entries from the Tarot, Astrology, Qabbala, I-Ching, Numerology and much more. Virtually every relation is properly sourced and the ulterior purpose is indexing correlations between all occult systems.
The original Notion document works best and can be found here: https://www.notion.so/odx/Astrology-58ac3843c81b43b0b7ab396494fc68a4
I am sure much is missing or mis-connected - so please help me find the gaps by sharing feedback on /r/ODXODX

This is an excellent comprehensive beginners guide to Feng shui by a classically Chinese trained western Tibetan Buddhist monk. He’s been sought out by very wealthy businesspeople and corporations all over Singapore, China, and other parts of Asian.

You first have to be able to delineate a natal chart very well, before ever trying to go into synastry. I don't mean just using "this planet in this sign means this". Because to do synastry, you must be able to understand each person's challenges and what comes more easily for them. So you really have to get into depth on a person's planets. What is their condition? What area of life is impacted? How well does it take care of the house/s it rules? What are its aspects and how do they make easier, or make more challenging, the tasks that planet wants to do? What are the relationship indicators in each individual's chart up to? what do they tell us?
That is the only way to then be able to understand how person A's planet may interact with person B's planet. What we see online about "this planet sextile that person's planet is fantastic!" may not at all be true when we look at the individuals' charts. Just as an aspect that "online" may categorize as "bad" , may not at all be bad, depending on the conditions of those planets in each chart.
A great video/podcast that can begin to explain some basics around synastry is one with the author John Green. It will correct a good bit of the misinformation out there and get you started learning. I can also recommend his book (cringey title, but it's a quite good book).
I highly suggest you read Chris Brennan's book Intro to Hellenistic Astrology: https://www.amazon.com/Hellenistic-Astrology-Study-Fate-Fortune/dp/0998588903
Also available on Google books for $10.
In it, Chris goes into the history of where this all started. The Babylonians (aka the Chaldeans) for several centuries recorded celestial phenomena on tablets. Where the stars where at specific times of the year. They did this for so long that they started noticing patterns.
The Egyptians also got involved . Considering mankind didn't do much for thousands of years, when the night came people would stare and ponder the stars.
Eventually sometime in the 5th to 1 century BC, someone or some group came together (potentially) and set up the philosphical basis of hellenistic astrology that is pretty familiar to us today. Things like houses, aspects, the traditional 7 planets, exaltations, and tying it in with classical elemental theory.
Then people were able to observe placements with behavior. Do this enough times and you start having recurring actions of people tied to celestial phenomena.
Chris goes into this in amazing detail that lays out the historical foundation and the "why". A great book. I recommend it.
Definitely 100% - start with Benson Bobrick's "The Fated Sky: Astrology in History." There are no charts, not even a figure or diagram. Benson's work is a seminal masterpiece that is imminently readable and will launch a lifetime of interest and understanding in astrology. I'd also recommend ("Conversing With The Planets")[https://www.amazon.com/Conversing-Planets-Science-Invented-Cosmos/dp/0812919750] and ("Beyond The Blue Horizon")[https://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Blue-Horizon-Legends-Planets-dp-0060156538/dp/0060156538]. The both cover the history, legends and myths of the planets through time.
Centaur is the astronomical classification as well because many of them are essentially hybrids of comets and asteroids, likely originating in the Kuiper Belt, and are named after mythological Centaurs like Chiron, Pholus, Nessus, Chariklo, Bienor, etc. Centaurs have extremely unstable orbits that cross the outer planets. Centaurs (along with SDOs, Damocloids, and ex-comets) are transformative and evolutionary placements that link the energies of the planets they cross. Chiron in particular assists with the incorporation of Uranus’ energy into the Saturnian realm.
I suggest starting with the book [Saturn, Chiron and the Centaurs](www.amazon.com/dp/0955823129/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_7B22THA8ZM705J2DD4P1) by Melanie Reinhart which discusses Chiron, Nessus, and Pholus and how they actually operate in astrology in relation to the planets they link.
There's a great book I found called <strong>"The Black Hole book" by astrologer Alex Miller</strong>. It's only $5 for the Amazon Kindle version- which you can use either on a laptop or phone. It's 250+ pages long and quite detailed, since he has been researching black holes in astrology since 1991; not only does he outline a total list of all points of black holes along the zodiac, at specific degrees - as well as quasars, pulsars, and masers - but he really well explains what they mean in the natal chart. He devotes entire sections to black holes aspecting each of the natal planets, as well as prominent world-figure/celebrity examples, and even those in mundane astrology. I feel like this is just what you're looking for!
I would recommend this book:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aspect-Pattern-Astrology-Horoscope-Interpretation/dp/0995673640
Even if you don't go completely down the road of aspect pattern analysis, the way they describe the nature of aspects and their influence on each other is very interesting and informative.
Also intense crazy snowstorm/blizzard in Colorado-massive pileup on 1-25, other Interstates closed-a really bad one moving to the midwest.
It is found that serial killers are frequently born when celestial factors are in Mutable signs (with birth time: p=0.005, effect size=0.31; without birth time: p=0.002, effect size=0.25).
Statistical analysis of the birth charts of serial killers
This guy is right. There was a huge study done on that and mutable signs showed up by far as the highest indicator for serial killers.
I just discovered this and want to gush over it despite it being about as easy to read as a medical journal.
>Just got myself a copy of the "[Encyclopedia of Medical Astrology](https://www.amazon.com/Encyclopaedia-Medical-Astrology-Howard-Cornell/dp/1626545065)" by H.L. Cornell (\~1933, no Pluto in it but seriously hardcore for those who are trying to dissect the ideated universe). Saw it referenced in others' works that discussed medical aspects of astrology.
You might want to check this out. It’s a rectified chart of America, but the author supposedly used like hundreds of data points based on historical events. I haven’t read it yet, so I can’t attest to its quality, but it’s been on my to buy list for a while.
https://www.amazon.com/America-Born-Introducing-National-Horoscope/dp/0980185629
I will second some of these (the ones I know of).
Coppock is very good. Probably the most highly-regarded of the contemporary Western occult astrologers (at least publicly).
The Celestial Art, which is co-attributed editorially to Coppock and Schulke might be more than you (the OP) are asking for, but it is phenomenal. And Schulke, though he is more "known" for his works with the Cultus Sabbati, is perhaps the most profoundly prolific occultist of our times.
Steven Forrest's works are the crème de le crème of my astrology studies atm. His "Element" series is both profound and complete. It illustrates and explicates an understanding of the signs, planets, and houses (including detailed explanations for each + transits/progressions/solar arcs) that is extremely useful for both mundane and occult astrological workings.
Ptolemy's "Almagest" is the primary astronomical text as far as I know.
Ptolemy's "Tetrabiblos" is the primary astrological text.
You're right. It's just the moon ghosted in the image. Here's an example of the effect for comparison. Uranus would be way above Mars in the sky in that picture, and it would be way fainter than the surrounding stars. I don't want to ruin everyone's enthusiasm here, but it always makes me cringe when astrologers pretend to know astronomy.
I use a bullet journal for daily notes but then use https://joplinapp.org/ to make notes on the things you have mentioned. You can install it on all platforms, it syncs to the cloud and you just need to use some markdown to make it look good if that's your thing. You can also link pages together.
Check out the forum at https://www.solunars.com/ - the main sidereal astrology website on the internet.
A bit of a shameless plug (if I can say so), but a friend of mine wrote a book on ancient astrology and mythology (based on translations from Egyptian, Babylonian and Greek texts). Ancient astrology was entirely sidereal. The book is currently free for kindle
I kinda stumbled on it thru ancestry.com and also a goldmine of government shit called catalog.gov or something. This is the page I was on for Cook https://www.ancestry.com/search/categories/34/?name=Paul_Cermak&birth=_cook-illinois-usa_730 you might have to have an ancestry account to see
much...I did the free trail thing. My great gpa was from Czechoslovakia so I can even see their naturalization list of signatures when they get off the boat at Ellis Island haha.
Yes, there's actually a statistical analysis of birth charts of serial killers.. It says on the website.. "In this study, hypotheses of astrologers about the predominance of specific astrological factors in the birth charts of serial killers are tested. In particular, Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), the 12 th principles (12 th house, Pisces, Neptune) and specific Moon aspects are expected to be frequent among serial killers as compared to the normal population. A sample consisting of two datasets of male serial killers was analysed: one set consisting of birth data with a…"
Healing Pluto Problems, ESP if you're Plutonic!
I haven't read through it all yet, bc it's exposing me and my family dynamics that I have to receive the information in a relaxed, calm setting.

The solution i use is not for free, but still i want to recommend it, since it's the best tool i know of (for me personally and from my experience)
I use the "Horoskop" App from austrian developer Walter Dünser:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.wd.horoskop
On the first page "graphic" i can select a planet of my choice and then rotate the planet-circle to find every position in time. I love it, it's so handy. 👍 super fast and flexible
I started with the book Existential Kink I’ve also found astrology and tarot to be incredibly beneficial along with a daily journal. Hope this helps get you started!
Horoscopes are what you make of them. I stumbled upon this one reader/teller on Google Assistant. It's pretty witty and clever and has some basic readings that I prefer. I like to just get a sense of insight and don't particularly like getting bogged down in the details. I am able to express myself and anything that gives me insight and makes me reflect on my life is something that I truly value.
I suggest you stay away from PlanetWatcher. When you animate, it tends to go wonky and throw major errors over time.
AstroGold is a good one. $20 for Android. Twice that for iphone and ipad. You can use it on your pc desktop via the free Bluestacks. With Bluestacks you just launch it, then there will be a menu with all your apps and you pick what you want to open. I love being able to use AstroGold full screen this way.
Of course, there's the full blown Solar Fire program. I think it's about $360 iirc.
"Capricorn and Leo signs are the most likely to hold an upper management position (VP and above) with more Capricorns in C-level jobs. The Aries sign is the most likely to work in middle management while Aquarius is the most likely to hold an entry-level job."
If you’re looking for an in-depth “dictionary” of rulerships and correspondences, I’d start with The Rulership Book. It could use an update, but I’ve never seen another volume offer as much information in one place. It lists both alphabetically by topic and by planet/house. No explanations or analyses, just lists of rulerships.
There is actually a section on moon gardening! It also includes moon phases, moon recipes, moon spells, intention setting, how to meditate, moon meditations, western and eastern zodiac information, planetary alignments, important cosmic events, and all sorts of other stuff. There’s also a box-set by the same author called “Moon Power” sold by Simon & Schuester that includes a moon journal and her other book called “Moon Spells”. I haven’t read that one yet, but I would love to.
I had to do a little bit of research on the author, Diane Ahlquist, to make sure she was a reliable source and someone I wouldn’t mind supporting. She seems legit, the info provided is correct, and ethically she seems to have morals. I saw she was a spiritual consultant for an episode of the recent Unsolved Mysteries tv series, and she has written other books like “The Law of Attraction”. I don’t appreciate her working with Simon & Schuester publishing, but I’m willing to look past it since it’s hard out there for authors to get their work published. - The reason I look into the ethics of spiritualists selling magickal tools, books, courses, etc. is because I have been burned in the past by a certain tarot/oracle deck creator who practically disowned all of her decks because of her newfound beliefs.
I appreciate you showing interest in my comment! I hope I was helpful. I also provided a link below to the “Moon Magic” book listing on Amazon if you’re interested.
The technique was first developed by Jim Lewis, you can get his book on Amazon here. Unfortunately there are no ebook options that I know of.
The Witches' Datebook by Llewelyn might be up your alley. It contains explanations of basically everything you want to organize your life by the title. It has a reference section that contains magical influences of each day, colour correspondences of each day, lunar phases, moon signs, gemstones, chakras, herbs, eclipses, full moons, retrogrades, and a void-of-course chart. I've used it this year in conjunction (haha) with the CHANI app (not sure where this community stands on her and her work) and it's helped.
One thing that might help get you a quick fix (because who wants to wait until 2022 lol) is to find meditations that correspond with chakras with days of the week; seven chakras, seven days of the week. Rachel Hillary's chakra meditations are available for free (!!!) on Insight Timer and it's easy to create a playlist. There are resources out there that likely correspond the days of the week with chakras, but honestly, do what feels right to you.
I hope this helps some, fellow neurodivergent-brain owner.
Something I’m about to paraphrase from The Inner Sky is that an astrology reading isn’t going to change anything. Its more of a map to who someone is and how it aligns with the map of the world: but the way the reading could come out is that maybe someone just needs a bit of guidance back to their path with some encouragement.
I’ve been contacted asking for what to do about specific health circumstances. I’m not a doctor. Depression is a medical condition. I can look for what I would consider “struggle” placements and ask if they had experienced difficulty in a certain area, and if they needed an ear, but I’m also not a therapist, so I don’t make recommendations. In my experience, people seeking help back to their path just want someone open minded to believe them and to listen while they dig their way out of their hole, YMMV
Hello, I have just published a new astrology book that covers everything. Natal, Transit, Progressed, Relationship, Astrocartography, and Solar Return Charts.

Not sure why this comment is getting downvoted. Great book about Scorpio/Moon/Pluto configurations. Its called the Hades Moon by Judy Hall.
The host of the show Chris Brennan also has this glorious book.
The guests on his show each have books and stuff of their own too. Quite the gold mine.
This knowledge is the birthright of every person. It’s my joy to share it.
You can find a free pdf of the text on the interwebs (search Porphyry Introduction to the Tetrabiblos pdf), but here's a paperback version: Porphyry the Philosopher
Sure!
'Alice Sparkly Cat', who I find to be an incredible astrological thinker, goes into the topic a bit on The Strology Podcast, Ep. 3: the Moon
Caroline Smith also develops the idea a bit in her Moon Oracle
I also think it's important to remember that the astrological moon and sun represent the planet Earth, both through the sun's seasonal significances and the moon's cycling. With this lens, the "Earth" has it's domiciles in the Summer and exaltation in the Spring. As resources dwindle in the Autumn, the earth finds it's fall, then is exiled during Winter. It's interesting to meditate upon the "opposite" planet, Saturn, in his polarization: Father Time and New Year Baby.
hahaha!!! here's the book :P
