Ok so I recently fostered this cat named Finn for like 4 months who was also obsessed with puffy tinsel balls. He came to us with a red sparkle ball that the shelter said was his favorite. He would carry it everywhere, and play soccer with it all over the house. All other toys were inferior. Naturally, I decided to track down more similar toys so that he could have more than one good toy. We got him the one Poe has, and all the tinsel came out in a couple days. After lots of asking at pet stores and some deep internet dives, I finally found Finn’s toy: the tuff kitty puff . We gave him 12 new sparkle balls, and I thought his brain was going to explode with joy.
They are supposedly super durable, so Finn had a blast chewing them and batting them around. However, my most recent foster cat shredded one in about 1 day...so I guess they’re not totally infallible. But depending on your kitten’s intellect, perhaps he too could benefit from a tuff puff.
Get some scentsicles (Amazon has them) if you want to deter the adorable little void from scaling the tree.
ETA: White winter fir is the scent that works for me

Make sure she is drinking enough water. Cats have an instinctual aversion to stagnant water like you would find in the typical pet water bowl. This is because in the wild drinking stagnant water is likely to make you sick, so they prefer to drink flowing water. If you give your cat a recirculating water bowl like this one they will drink a LOT more water.
I had a cat make it to 17 before kidney disease got him which is usually caused by dehydration. I didn't know about the flowing water thing until his kidneys were already damaged beyond recovery, but he did perk up quite a bit after we got him the recirculating bowl and he was getting enough water. Unfortunately not lot of people know this and end up taking years off their cats lives.
These covers worked great to solve this for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LZ658YW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_X4MHWBPJ06GAFYCM6521?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
They don’t come with adhesive, but work and look pretty great once you get them attached. I used some 3M adhesive I had laying around.
I can really sympathize with you! I had a calico named Sally who chewed every cord she could get her teeth into, including the one to my sewing machine foot pedal (over $200!!) The solution I found was to get some split tubing hose cover and put it around all the cords. It worked. I found it at the Dollar Store, but here's some at Amazon:

Asthma's not even hard to take care of with a cat. One of my cats is asthmatic and the biggest pain in the ass is going to the vet once a year to get a refill for his prescription.
Get one of these, try it on them and give them copious amounts of treats after. My cat now runs up to me to get his medicine at night.

Not sure if this is the same thing OP is referring to, but I get these chicken paste treats from either Amazon or my local pet store for one of my girls (the other one refuses to touch them.) They're not only a nice little treat, they are EXCELLENT for dosing liquid meds, when she was on 14 days of antibiotics I got them in liquid form, and would just mix the med dose into half a tube of this stuff twice per day. Easier than trying to mix into wet food, and she slurped it up like crazy.
I honestly don’t. Its most likely a hand me down or was bought in a garage sale. I took a quick look on Amazon and this is the closest I was able to find. If you go to local stores / other online sources look for Saucer Chairs or circle chairs and you’ll find one eventually. Best of luck!!

Great Idea, I'd add to it.
Cats might find it comfy to lay on, if its not to hot, my cats lay close to the fireplace, mine is gas with glass/brass covering it totally.
Like @stayfrosty223 said, Function>Fashion, and I like the idea, but may be too much eyesore, especially if having guests over. Maybe combining with some of my thoughts below might work.
In the past my friends cat would lift up the garbage can lid and go rummaging through it making a bit of a mess. She did this only when no one was watching. I set up a pressure switch on the lid of the can, supplied 12v, and a loud siren. We had dinner and were sitting in the living room when the siren went off, cat came tearing around the corner, and never went near the can, again.
You can go the chicken wire route, and put a vibration sensor, add 12v and siren, this will prevent the other cats from roosting on the wire, and reinforce to stay clear the stove. Your poor kitty that got burnt, I doubt she will ever go near it. I'd say if you keep the wire fencing around for a while, maybe 6 months and the alarm never gets tripped, then I would think the cats will stay away.

Seems like you've got a system that works for you but just in case I'd recommend this one. My cat had the same issues you mentioned (and had kidney disease so lots of bathroom trips) but this was both high enough to catch and low enough at the entrance. I did have it on a storage bin lid too (funny we both did so!) in case he ever aimed at the opening. Definitely made his last year easier.

I brush my cats with a finger brush! like these
This is the one I got. Spectrum is focused on finding urine and (ahem) other organic stains.
You could get them a cat house like this:https://www.chewy.com/new-age-pet-ecoflex-outdoor-cat-house/dp/201983. It's so easy to set up, sturdy and have enough room for two cats.
Hey y'all, sorry, it apparently removed my comment because of a "shortened link.. Let's try this again! Ceramic Fountain!
Please note there are 100 different sellers and prices on this style, and there's another I like as well called the cupcake fountain, it's just a round version of this... Use this as a jumping off point and find one at the color and price you want!
Petkit sells a stainless steel one on Amazon. It hasn't gotten grody yet. I've cleaned it, but only because it seemed preposterous to not have done so in a bit over two weeks
Besides the stainless steel - which resists gunk as-is - the entire unit lifts off so you don't have to unplug it or fight with a wire, and every surface is pretty flat and open so besides the tube the water shoots up, everything is really easy to get with a sponge
It's a little pricier, but totally worth it. Having gone through four fountains already, it's been great to finally have this one
He might need some play time that is NOT your hand. A stick toy with a wiggle worm always does the trick for my young cats. Gets some of the boredom, hunting instinct, or stress to release and then they relax and sleep better. It does mean you have to play with them for a bit, but 15 min could eventually end all the biting that isn’t excited play.
Get one of those circular cat scratchers that has a ball they can spin around it. All of my cats love those things.

Thank you for the info.
This is the Hydrocare that Suzuka drinks. She loves it, and given a chance, will drink this rather than eat. We have to limit how we give it to her because of that. She's now well-hydrated, the issue is getting her to eat.
When she was younger, she was a healthy 7-8lbs, but she has lost so much weight due to her kidney issues that she's down to 5.15lbs at that latest vet visit. And that's up from 5lbs a week ago. She used to free feed, but with the other two cats, we can no longer do that, so between her age, kidney issues and being put on a feeding schedule, she has lost weight. We've gotten used to feeding her whenever she yowls, which hopefully will gain weight back on her.
Anyways, I hope you don't mind me venting a bit, I'm just worried for her.
Yes! It's a window perch I got from chewy here.

Cats tend to love it. Also Petco has this soft toy that looks like a stick of dynamite and I've never seen a cat that didn't love playing with it.
But to be honest, if you're worried your cat is bored/lonely when you're unavailable, a second kitten is the best companion. They were born in a litter; they're social babies. The monthly cost to take care of two cats instead of one is so minimal, you won't notice a difference in your finances but the joy it will bring your void is priceless

We have what we call a pill shooter. I don't know if that's what it really is called. It looks like a plastic syringe with no tip and has 2 holes for you to put your fingers. I'll edit with a link if I can find. It makes it really easy to get a pill into the back of a cats throat. They just need to open their mouth a little and you can get it in. We usually give a favorite treat after we know it's been swallowed.

“… came back home from college” maybe your void is having a hard time adapting being at home? A combo of change in the environment (adopted tiny sibling, now best friends) happened to my void with a unknown flea outbreak when bringing her home. He hasn’t had a reaction like that since, but I also took him to the vet for advice and he was put on steroids and oral flea meds. And his enemy.. the cone. My advice to stop the licking is to get a cone or a “donut” plush one. They are super cute and more comfortable than plastic or flexible.
watermelon cat cone my void during his outbreak.. that I turned into custom vans

Does she like the treats you squeeze out of a tube?
Mine go crazy for them. Churu is the gold standard but they like others as well.

If you give your cat wet food then a 4 ounce [118 ml]glass jar (the link is for a pack of 12 of the Ball brand ones with lids) works great for keeping the wet food fresh and from stinking up your fridge. The big cans of wet food are 5.5 ounces [162.65 ml] so they have enough room for leftover food. I also washed the food bowl with hot water between each feeding, making sure it has been scraped clean and wash with dish soap once a day, rinsing it really, really good (I certainly wouldn't want to eat out of a dirty dish and I wouldn't think it'd be pleasant for the cat either). If you don't have a water fountain- change the water in the bowl as needed, mostly by making sure the bowl is clean, there's nothing in water and the bottom isn't slimy (for the same reason as the food bowl).
I don't know if this would work as a occasional treat or if your cat needs more fluids (if it's a bad idea someone say so, nicely please). Make a weak catnip tea for them: Start by boiling water, then add the catnip, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, strain it, let it cool completely (or stick it in the fridge until it's cool), and then give it to the cat. I'd make it so I couldn't smell or taste the catnip, so it might have to be watered down a bit. I'd say no more than a 1/4 cup [60 ml] of the tea, I don't know how often but probably not more than 1-2 times a week. (Again if it's a bad idea please nicely say so, it was a random thought I just had.)

I have 4 cats and Tidy Cat kitty litter is probably one of the best litters I've used, it doesn't get smelly as fast and it's nice and light, I guess the con is its an expensive litter.
If you don't want to spring for a self cleaning litter box like a Litter Robot, definitely pick up a sifting litter box.
It's a 3 tier box and you basically dump the top pan into the sifting pan, put the top on the bottom, dump the clumps out, then put the sifting layer back in the middle and the bottom one, now with the clean litter, on top.
Sounds confusing but it's super simple and so much less effort than scooping.
I use this litter: https://www.chewy.com/tidy-cats-free-clean-unscented/dp/168310 It’s clumping, largely dust free, and unscented with bits of charcoal in it which absorb odors. I have 2 cats and 2 pans which are right next to my desk and I never smell anything except right when they use it! I also scoop every day, so that certainly helps.
Whatever pan you purchase should be one smooth, continuous surface on the inside, devoid of weird bevels and shapes. A boring, empty box is much easier to scoop than a pan with an inset design.
I agree with other posters- try both vertical and horizontal scratchers to see what your kitty likes. I recommend one in each room if you can, it seems to help keep mine off the furniture/curtains.
My kitties’ favorite toys are trash: paper balls, strings, cardboard boxes, sheets of tissue paper. I give them those, but also toys which crinkle, rattle, and look like trash but are safer options. Etsy is great for this, there’s a seller who makes cat toys that look like q-tips! Note that string should be put away when play is done so your new BFF (best furry friend 🐈⬛) doesn’t accidentally eat it and end up with a serious intestinal issue.
I recommend the Epica (small size) claw trimmers. I had a terrible time finding trimmers at first, but these work great! These are nice and sharp and the blades are set close together like a good pair of scissors (as opposed to a loose joint).
Go with your vet’s recommendation and Bagheera’s current care style as far as food/feeding habits. Mine get 24/7 access to dry food with a wet food dinner, but other cats I’ve had would’ve quickly become overweight on that feeding style. It all depends on what the kitty is used to!
I hope you and your BFF have many happy years together!
Catnip banana, cigars or other toys, just make sure it is the yeowww brand. I bought a generic banana and they ignore it. But I bought the real deal cigars and they love them.

I highly recommend getting a Zoom Groom. It's very affordable at $5 and does a good job of collecting fur. Most importantly though, cats LOVE it. It's like a massage for them.

I use the furminator brush on my two voids because they’re long-haired, but it would likely reduce shedding for your kitty too. I like the Arm & Hammer “Slide” litter because it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the litter box, making weekly full-litter changes require less elbow grease. If your kitty is going to be indoors only, purchase a simple set of nail clippers and clip regularly to save your furniture and skin. My kitties also love this scratcher, and it looks cute: VETRESKA Cactus Cat Scratching Post, Tall Cactus Cat Scratcher with Natural Sisal Rope, Durable Vertical Cat Scratch for Adult Cats and Kittens https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R6QH1Y5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NF6KKXQ3SX1NPA85QJ4J

My void is also a scarf-and-barfer. My vet recommended slow feeder bowls as well but I couldn’t find any non-plastic ones I liked so actually ended up getting these extra-wide <em>elevated</em> ceramic bowls from Amazon instead.
They’re a little pricey for a single food bowl but it’s so worth it - the barfing has gone down noticeably, probably by 80 to 90%, because apparently bending down to the bowl on the ground was the main issue. I’m not sure if my cat maybe had mild acid reflux or something before but she’s much improved. The only time it still happens is when she’s got a hair ball stuck in her throat and then eats without throwing up the hair ball first.

I suffer from sinusitis since I’m a kid. Later I discovered that I was born with the septum deviated. I did the operation but because I always breathe with the mouth I didn’t learn how to breathe correctly from the nose.
I tried neti pot and other stuff but didn’t work. Until recently that I found a doctor that suggested me to try something called "face form" is kind of a pacifier for adults, that train your mouth and nose muscles. I’m breathing progressively better with that.
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Dr-Berndsen-FaceFormer-Anatomical-Blue/dp/B07HNR96JJ
I didn’t find the correlation between the neck pain and sinusitis. I used to take a lot of ibuprofen when I had a bad headache.
One step after the other. Is a long journey. But I’m looking forward to know how does it feels like breathing regularly from the nose and living sinusitis free.
There's a few different me too products on Amazon, but it's a me too product like this one.
She's nuts over little toys that fit in comfortably in her mouth. Especially if they're plush and soft. The shrimp one will forever be her favorite, but we have a set of pastry shaped toys too!
You can find the set of toys the shrimp came from on Amazon here! When she took a liking to that set was a tiny kitten I stocked up in case I couldn't find them again but luckily they're still available. She's got five sets to go through still before I order more. :'D
I have one that has that too, he also has no teeth, and we do human baby food. The Gerber 2nd stuff meant for itty babies. It's just meat, water, and cornstarch. Comes in chicken, turkey, beef, and ham. He loves it.

Hi. I second what others have said that your void is being a little rough, probably because he doesn't realize the size difference. Since you've also mentioned that they otherwise get along, in addition to separating them when the void is too rough, I would trim void's nails slightly or use plastic nail caps (just for him, not baby) to take some of the edge off when they do wrestle. You also said the void is young too, so make sure he gets plenty of hard exercise and playtime with just you (without baby cat), so that he has a safe release for his energy. He'll be calmer and less rowdy with the baby if he's already tired. I don't know what toys you have for them, but my cats love these cheap little spongy bouncy balls that I can throw and they run, run, run. soccer balls for cats
A large cage or catio would be useful. I personally used to use a cat cage like this back when I had a balcony: Amazon link
Really helps to have it on wheels if your apartment doesn't allow it outside permanently so you can bring it in when not in use.
I highly reccomend something like this. Its more comfortable for the kitty.

Hey! Yes I am still using it it works great I’ve had it for about 8 months now. If your cat is mischievous like mine it is easy to know over (but not spill food out! lol) . I found it on Amazon.

These are inexpensive, can't cause electrical fires, and can't get too hot for your pets. I just did a quick search on Amazon and can't find the exact one we have, so I don't specifically recommend this brand, but anything like this should be good probably.
My Void likes the artistic fish called the Jackson Pollock. It’s included in this set:

Here is the cat dancer. We have 4 indoor only cats so I'm always on the lookout for toys to keep them entertained when I'm busy. You can always share your cat struggles with me 🙂

These are the bananas I get. Hope Ezio loves them.
She is just an absolute sweetie. Have you ever read Jenny and the Cat Club? It's a children's book about a small black cat who is adopted, plays fetch, and meets every challenge, even when she's scared. I think you'd love it. 🖤
I got it on Amazon but the link the other person posted is direct from the manufacturer. It looks like the price went up because I did not pay over $200 for it. It works really well and dramatically helped one cat lose weight while the other got the food she needed. I would buy one over and over it is so worth it.
One cat now doesn’t have to worry about her food being eaten and it’s made a big difference

There's also these. They are really good for furniture. Easy to use and easy to clean. Much cheaper in the long run too. In 3 years of owning one long haired dog and caring for a lot of rescue dogs with vastly differentiating furs these things saved me so much money and nerves haha
If you are sick of buying lint rollers every few weeks there's great alternatives with felt. Even self cleaning ones so you don't have to clean them with your hands. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01DF316EC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_WJJ5XEJ10H26PR11BCDP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Something like this, been using mine for 2 years now. Can't recommend them enough
For sure, I'm sure he would absolutely love it! This is the one we got for my boy (we got the bigger size):
