This StudioCanal release has a superior transfer to the Criterion and most of the same special features. As somebody who owns both and treasures the Criterion as a collectors item, there’s no reason in terms of disc quality to drop the money on the CC version. Also this release is region free.
Edit: Weird, the link didn’t work on my phone. Here:
The Third Man [Blu-ray] [1949] https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00X7RHT5C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nUbnCbX9B45A3
Dawn of the Dead (4K UHD) [Blu-ray] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T882JXB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_NCGARMNR47SFBAKN89NQ
It’s not the limited box set but it’s all three cuts in 4k and the bonus disc blu-ray that’s region B locked from that set. just missing the soundtrack cds and and books.
I'll make the recommendation, but you probably already know about it. Pick up the Hitchcock/Truffaut documentary For one, it's an astounding study of storytelling and filmmaking. For two, it's only $7.00 USD on Amazon right now!
I ordered the item on Black Friday this year from Amazon. Here's what Amazon says:
"Limited collector's edition booklet featuring new writing on the films by Brad Stevens, Chris Dumas and Christina Newland, plus an archive interview with Brian De Palma and Charles Hirsch"
"Number of discs: 3"

Here you go guys! Love this thing. :) Atlantic Elite Media Storage Cabinet - New/Improved Tower, Stores 837 CDs, 630 Blu-Rays, 531 DVDs, 624 PS3/PS4 Games or 528 wii Games with 9 Fixed Shelves, PN38408117 in Espresso https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PXPGRQK/ref=cm_sw_r_sm_apa_glt_fabc_PK7EMZ0E5MYKH115ZXDE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
No not at all. Its not OOP. Most of the regular retailers have it. Not sure why the ebayers are jumping the gun and hiking up the prices already.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B1PL6ZR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oiEOFbJEPRBBH
Yep. I haven't read it myself, but I will soon. Looks like it is a collection of stories, one of which deals direcatly with Let the Right One in. So it may not be the fully flushed out world of Eli and Oskar, but they are in there.
Amazon UK have them in stock currently for £55.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082PPKDHZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ThVtFb6ZHT96G
I'd definitely recommend it; solid enough outer box, individual cases with reversible cover art, art cards, great double sided poster, soundtrack CDs for El Topo and The Holy Mountain and a good booklet. (Albeit there's a bit of slight misinformation on the box which claims it comes with a hardcover book when in reality it's the same thick softcover ones you usually find in Arrow boxsets.)
I've ordered from them a few times. The site doesn't change the currency for you. It's always in pounds. I use this online currency converter while I'm shopping to figure out the approximate total - Currency Converter
Are they the same transfers as these?
Lol, I get asked that every time I post a pic of my set up!
It also showed back up on Amazon for $63.49

I have this one and it’s held up quite well, even moved a couple time with it. It fits Blu-ray’s almost perfectly. The edge pieces cover the last Blu-ray on each side but if you’re really bothered by it you can just put empty case spacers in.
On Amazon, it'll say BD-R or DVD-R as the edition.
Here is an example.
You can buy it off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Django-Texas-Blu-ray-2-Disc-Limited/dp/B08NDVHY8L Or buy it at Diabolik https://www.diabolikdvd.com/product/uhd-django-texas-adios-bd-limited-edition-arrow-us/
Very sophisticated. Probably sturdier than this piece of junk I bought. I swear it’s going to fall over one of these days when I turn my ceiling fan on.
The Scarface 4k that includes the sculpture comes to mind. I ended up getting the other version even though it doesn't have the original film, which I wanted.
You do know that there's a steelbook version coming out, as well, next month, right? It won't be a 4K UHD, though, of course.
You can actually get it in a 3 pack. I've been looking for it forever and finally picked it up when i found out about it.

Amazon UK has a listing with pictures of the packaging. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Herschell-Gordon-Lewis-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B08GV8VLYM?dchild=1&fst=as%3Aoff&qid=1599226310&refinements=p_n_date%3A182247031%2Cp_n_binding_browse-bin%3A383380011&rnid=383379011&s=dvd&sr=1-140&tag=bluraycom-21
Don't know if this just flew under the radar but I haven't seen info about it here or on the CC subreddit. Coming out 11/20 (same day as the Celine & Julie BD). Preorders for 29.99gbp on Amazon UK
Indicator has an all-region disc that I would highly recommend to anyone who loved 8MM :D
Yeah, they were like a deal of the day at Home Depot, $22 shipped for both! Here's a link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/StyleWell-StyleWell-Wood-and-Black-Metal-Wall-Mount-Geometric-Floating-Shelf-Set-of-2-18MJ2430-LS-777/309778871
Matching bookends were from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MJ6DDRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0TSqFbTDWB5HG
And thanks for the recommendations, I haven't seen either of those! I've been meaning to add Caligari forever, it's one of my favorites, but I may go for those instead.
I found a seller in Amazon called 'Great-buys!'. Ordered a couple of days ago and came quick. It says that its still in stock (under add to list) Here
If anyone wants to watch 2 without the price of this blu ray, it's on Amazon Prime. https://www.amazon.com/Slumber-Party-Massacre-Crystal-Bernard/dp/B07DYF4YWD
This is a movie that needs a re-release on blu-ray.
I just recently got into the Hammer myself and just received Indicators' Hammer volumes 2 & 3! Here is how I have rated what I've seen so far:
https://letterboxd.com/matthewschmitz/list/top-hammer-films-ive-seen/detail/
Here is the list I use when picking what to watch next:
This is a thing that’s started bugging me with studio releases recently. Sometimes steelbook artwork will be a complete asspull that has dick all to do with the visual language of the film. Look at the Wolf of Wall Street steel. Garish yellow and blue that doesn’t appear in a single scene in the film. Meanwhile the warm yellow-orange of the title card from the wide release fits in with most of the warm tones of the film and matches the poster.
And look at this one from The Bourne Identity: https://www.amazon.com/Identity-Steelbook-Blu-ray-DIGITAL-UltraViolet/dp/B00IIJ9F38 what the fuck?
That’s good to know, there’s a few pictures on here occasionally of brilliant movies kept in their unopened plastic wrapping. I think we should completely appreciate the artwork these movies come in, but also discuss the movies a bit. A lot of these films have never looked any better, some of them have never been seen by anyone under 70 and here we are keeping them shrink wrapped and unwatched… anyway that’s my opinion, seems like you’re not part of the movie abstinence craze either.
Someone recommended these they might be worth a shot.
Correct, there was no release of Suspiria (2018) in 4K. I imported the German release (Here's the Amazon DE page for it ) which appears to be out of stock at the moment for some reason, but the German UHD is still very good.
Dunno if he sent anything but I found them on Amazon and they don't really look like something you'd want out in the open in a house imo https://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-38408071-Maxsteel-Shelving-Gunmetal/dp/B07CRD1FTX/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=atlantic+max+steel&qid=1624978986&sr=8-2
They look too industrial, may be ok for like a basement man cave I suppose.
The European cut is from my understanding the most definitive cut from Sergio Leone. You can still order that version from Amazon Japan. The “directors cut” extended version is false advertising.

Side note: I don’t believe the film, Fire Walk With Me is included with this set unfortunately. You can always get it separately via Criterion though. Hope this helps some and good luck with the script! :)
this is the release i have. Free shipping from UK. The company is Mediumrare but they don’t have a website from what I can find.
Oof, sorry about that lol it is a new set tho, i hadn't noticed it until just before the sale since it came out just last month and it was going for just 30 pounds ($40 US). Looks like amazon has it for about 50 total if ur looking for it before the next sale. Also it's worth noting that the set contains only 2 dual-disc cases which have Nekromantik and Nekromantik 2 cover artwork and contain Der TodesKing and Schramm as their second discs as well as their reverse cover artwork.
Yes totally! I haven’t seen any of these yet either actually! The middle two are the forgotten gialli boxed sets from Vinegar Syndrome. Each one includes three films.
The first one is sold out, but here is Vol. 2
https://vinegarsyndrome.com/products/forgotten-gialli-volume-two
The standard edition of Vol. 1 I think:
https://www.amazon.com/Forgotten-Gialli-Trauma-Killer-Blundering/dp/B08JL8J9BT
This is the listing I bought and it's still the cheapest limited edition listing I can find on eBay.
If you have Prime, this Amazon listing is also a good price for US peeps.
The Murnau, Borzage, & Fox box set is my favorite. The Ford At Fox (the 24 film set) is also great. If you want Arrow's Rivette set, make sure you get the one that has: Out 1: Noli Me Tangere (1971), Out 1: Spectre (1974), Noroît (1976), Duelle (1976), and Merry-Go-Round (1981) (it's currently the lowest it's ever been at Amazon). Studio Canal's Bunuel Boxset, Melville Boxset, and Godard: The Essential Collection are all worth your consideration, as is the BFI's Carl Theodor Dreyer Collection, The Werner Herzog Collection, and Dissent & Disruption: Alan Clarke at the BBC (1969 - 1989). Coffret Rohmer intégral is amazing if you like Rohmer. The Coffret encyclopédique western is great if you like westerns. And the Buster Keaton Collection (14 film set from kino) is amazing because Buster is a god.
For anyone interested, the 3-disc blu-ray complete set is only $31.99 on Amazon. 2K restorations.
And the Eureka MoC double disc release is currently on sale at Amazon for £7.45
There is a now OOP plain 1-Disc version by Blue Underground, released back in 2010, and it's way too expensive for what it is. The Arrow L.E. and Steelbook versions are pricey as well but are far superior to the BU disc. If you really want to Arrow version and you can afford it, I'd say try to win it in an ebay auction. I got mine brand new for $50 not long ago.
If you don't want to do that, the cheapest version to own right now is this 2013 disc from Argent films. It's a UK release but it's region free, and it isn't all that bad as a much less expensive alternative to the Arrow versions.
It’s still available my dude. Idk for how much longer, but it’s still in circulation for not too crazy of prices. I regret not jumping on it when it was under $100, but it’s only like $130 right now. Part 8 of the Return series in 4K is fantastic. I only have one question though, gotta light?
No I found it on amazon.ca brand new for 17 bucks!
There Will Be Blood (Il y aura du sang) (Two-Disc Widescreen Edition) (Bilingual) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0013ZGN8E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mbBwFbPSVGPZR
Lastly, I know you have Metropolis, but since you seem to like director’s sets - between the Herzog and Del Toro ones - you might want to check out the Fritz Lang: The Silent Films blu-ray set. Bunch of great ones in there.
I ordered it from Amazon UK last Wednesday, along with the Arrow Robocop Limited Edition (upgrading from Criterion dvd).
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0851M4DC5

Creepshow 3 was $27 from Amazon. Feel like I'm gonna regret paying that much with everything I'm hearing about it! I was on a lockdown spending spree on my couch.
I did this last year after I bought this set! Amazon sells colored cellophane sheets that work well. Double up the sheets for the best results.
Heads up, the U.K. release what’s from Curzon Artifical Eye comes out on the 27th April is only £20.98 on Amazon if you don’t fancy waiting that long, although I don’t know what if any extras are going to be included.
Retro Poster Water Bottle Stickers on Amazon.
Many of 88s upcoming releases have been delayed after they've experienced multiple issues, mostly self-inflicted. And they've always been terrible about adding them to their website, often only weeks before release. The Amazon UK listing currently shows a release date of 12/31/2027, which usually just signals it's coming, but nobody knows when.
Not custom, just a German region 2 dvd.
https://www.amazon.de/Radioactive-Dreams/dp/B005OJYUPI
Image quality isn't great, even for DVD, but it's still nice to have a physical release at all.
It’s either that or the expensive and OOP Vinegar Syndrome version.
I've used these cases to reduce my footprint.
New MegaDisc 1000 Cd DVD Black Aluminum Hard Case for Media Storage Holder w/Hanger Sleeves
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CDWQK7A
Box up the dvd/blu-ray cases.
From my understanding Tremors LE sold out fast. But you can still get American Werewolf:
https://www.amazon.com/American-Werewolf-London-Limited-Ultra/dp/B09NRXK4N5
Arrow is a little odd with how they do their releases. First printings come with slipcovers and booklets. Once they run out, they're done. Some independent retailers like OrbitDVD and Grindhouse specify if a product has a slip. But ordering from Amazon, Arrow, Bestbuy, etc they don't say.
Limited Editions have a special hard case and bigger booklet. Sometimes posters or art cards. These LEs are different products than standard and most retailers differentiate. But when in doubt you can look at price differencing. The American Werewolf LE is $60 and the standard is $50. So on B&Ns website it doesn't specify but the half off price means its the LE edition.
Rain Man gets my vote. That has to be the smallest road ever.
Here's the original poster. I've always figured that terrible Blu-ray art comes from studios being cheap and not wanting to pay the original artists, so they photoshop something together in like 2 minutes.
Killer Klowns has a similar cover, in that it doesn't fit the movie at all. Horrible. Hopefully the supposed 4k scan next year has better art.. might hold off for that as I hear the regular blu ray isn't a good transfer.
Though I haven’t seen it, my money’s on the DVD cover of Modern Romance - nothing says “diarrhea on a roller coaster” quite like that artwork — https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Romance-James-L-Brooks/dp/B000C20VTQ/ref=asc_df_B000C20VTQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=598270499740&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15025671535903979713&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m...
In terms of TV movies, there are some blu-rays on Kino and Vinegar Syndrome and a few on Warner Archive DVDs. Otherwise, many have been posted on YouTube.
I highly recommend this book by Amanda Reyes if you're interested in TV movies.
https://www.amazon.com/Are-You-House-Alone-Compendium/dp/1909394440
Here is some product detail, it’s a beast :)
I don't know about that one in particular. But I have bought their secret Christmas discs and liked them a lot! Just a warning, sometimes it's just a burned disc in a plain paper sleeve, with little or no artwork. I'm also not sure if they can ship it to you by Halloween.
If you want more of a sure thing, you might like their official Halloween release, Grotesqueries.
Looking to trade or sell the following. Shipping is $4 for one item or $5 for 2+. CONUS only please. For trades, here is my Criterion wish list, happy to work out something in your favor.
Criterion Blu Rays
Non-Boutique:
I've followed the threads at blu-ray.com for the various releases over the years and the consensus seems to be that the master used for the Japan WB releases is the same as the US WB release. Even a reviewer at the site updated their review to say:
"Due to potentially incorrect information supplied by Warner Archive regarding this Blu-ray's source material, the "Video Quality" portion of this review has been revised."
and
"Warner Archive's Blu-ray is advertised as being sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative which, in hindsight, does not appear to be truthful. It looks strikingly similar to a 2018 Blu-ray issued by Warner Bros. for the Japanese market that, despite showing a marked improvement over Buena Vista's 2009 Blu-ray of the American cut, is still not quite an optimal transfer. They are not identical discs though, at least as far as compression is concerned: this dual-layered Blu-ray runs at a high bit rate and displays no obvious compression artifacts, with underlying strengths included -- but not limited to -- a rather robust color palette, no aliasing or banding, and a very dense appearance with excellent black levels and highlights."
The US release has a higher bit rate due to less to compete with on the same disc, but it's doubtful you'll notice much difference when you play it. I actually just ordered the Japan 2-disc Ultimate Collector's Edition from Amazon US (though shipped FREE from Amazon Japan) because the price had dropped so low, but as of today it's even $4 cheaper at $37.21 ! It's one of my faves and I own the WB US BD, but I was just waiting for this to potentially drop as it has enough additional extras -- including the US/international version -- to warrant a second copy for me.
Ok, eyeing their Popeye release again, it has a broad overview of Popeye's career. That's good because it's interesting, but it's bad because only the ones from the 30s are any good.
At the risk of contradicting myself maybe a newbie would be happier getting the Warner Brothers official dvd collection. It's what made me fall in love with the character. (https://www.amazon.com/Popeye-Sailor-1-1933-1938-Vol/dp/B07R44QN94/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?crid=283VHGL65BPWN&keywords=popeye+volume+1&qid=1665623626&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjU5IiwicXNhIjoiMi4wMSIsInFzcCI6IjEuNjEifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=popeye+volume+%2Ca...)
BUT, in case you want it. I did find the Thunderbean blu-ray on Amazon here. You're right, it was tricky to find! (https://www.amazon.com/Original-Classics-Technicolor-Questel-Jackson/dp/B08BFNHQ19/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=1U74YI8WQESI4&keywords=popeye+thunderbean&qid=1665623391&sprefix=popeye+thunderbean+%2Caps%2C206&sr=8-1)
Whenever Arrow has a sale I always order from their UK site cause it's cheaper. And there's several movies with US releases on labels I don't collect as much, so I've gone with Arrow.
Also if you ever get into Chinese Martial Arts movies, 88 Films and Eureka have a ton of great movies. Plus Eureka's Masters of Cinema series and classic movies. Not to mention Indicator and Second Sight.
I got my region free off Amazon. Different seller but same model, and it works great.
These are likely the You Have Space shelves from Amazon, which are a carbon copy of the old IKEA Lerberg mounts. I have some of the IKEA ones that I use and they’re fantastic, I find them brand new at Goodwills around LA all the time for $4-5.
Your prices aren't amazing, you can get Donnie Darko LE brand new from amazon for 32 right now (https://www.amazon.com/Donnie-Darko-UHD-Blu-ray-Various/dp/B08VCL54JX/ref=tmm_blu_title_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1663187129&sr=1-7) and used very good condition for even cheaper.
And it is relatively inexpensive for a box set.
You can get it for like 25 bucks on Amazon
You literally have the same setup as I do. Below is a link to the player I have for these discs (it's discontinued, but there may be a newer model). They play with no issues. It would be nice if Panasonic added a toggle for TV vs Player-led DV but they probably never will.
It’s from Umbrella Entertainment:
You should be able to pick up a copy from eBay quite easily.
I got an Amazon gift card from an award at work so I went with this one:
Works great and I love it.
Limited edition of 3,000 copies. No, it's not selling like hotcakes, but there aren't a lot of copies out there to sell, either.
What compounds the issue is that a quick cursory Google search shows not many other labels put out this title, either. If you are region-free there is a Spanish release from a different label that is reasonably priced:
Amazon.de allows you to purchase it in order for them to ship whenever it comes back in stock. Probably a mistake.. but maybe it's not completely discontinued? https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07LD27F6P
Ebay.de currently has a couple of LE Box sets if you're willing to drop €200+. Seems like a decent investment. https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_nkw=4020628748494
Amazon, a couple weeks ago. I was surprised as well.
It's $11.50 there right now.
Might be worth the crap shot to see if you get a cover or not.
It's the 'Politiques' collection - not sure where you're based but it's currently available at UK Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jean-Luc-Godard-Collection-13-Films/dp/B08GHMFWSQ. Not sure how old or how scarce the set is, but it's pretty comprehensive!
> I still need equilibrium though
This release has it in the OAR: https://www.amazon.com/Equilibrium-Blu-ray/dp/B093R7XN4K
And Eureka's separate release of Supercop will include the US version as well.
Oh well I have an L bracket on the outer middle sides of each shelf and one at the top of each shelf and it holds them steady as hell whenever grabbing stuff or putting them away :)
I use this super cheap capture card you can get on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HGZF6X9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Then you can just hook up bluray player to laptop and capture. I have a mac so use quicktime. Issues are that it records at roughly 60fps so had to use handbrake to bring it back to 24fps (was causing all sorts of screen glitches in Premiere). I also had issues with it the recorder crashing which was remedied by setting my screen resolution lower. I like to edit scenes together with music so I get wanting to just record a bit without having to rip a whole movie.
Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires is a Hammer Films co-production, it was just released on Blu-Ray by Scream Factory and is highly recommended!

Personally I've used several Atlantic media shelves off of Amazon (sold elsewhere too). Typically use metal ones but they have some that may fit what you're after, but not elevated like that. Much more basic.
I’ve never ordered from Zavvi but I’ve read a lot of horror stories on this sub. I’ll never order from them because of that. The 4K SB is currently $27.99 on the US Amazon site and the 4K LE is currently $32.99. I would just buy on Amazon before the price jumps up to ensure a copy. Maybe look on Zavvi’s site for a customer help number to talk to someone to cancel.
Nice price on this one. 2 of these for under 100 gives you a good amount of storage and will look pretty sharp.

I went and took a look at Amazon and it has #26 on the sleeve. Not sure why the difference but I got the original picture from Twitter so who knows where that one was originally discovered.
off the top of my head i can’t remember how the menu looks but there are no forced subs on it i can 100% guarantee that.
If all else fails, Amazon sells a Blu-ray of Ran for $12.96. You could buy that to replace one of the 4K discs. I think it would be worth it in that Ran is one of the most beautiful Steelbooks I ever bought!
Would anyone be interested in purchasing Batman Forever & Batman + Robin on 4k for $28?
I purchased the Batman 4k box set but have decided to only keep Batman 1989 & Batman Returns. Perhaps someone already has the first two and would like to complete the set?
I would include the box set slipcover that is pictured here on Amazon and ship it will two empty blu ray cases so that it's sent well packaged.
If interested, send me a message and I'll send pics. Otherwise, the two films I mentioned might be available individually.
It‘s a german release so you can get it at the typical places, for importing amazon.de is probably gonna be your best option
Neon Year 5 Box Set including Titane
I would assume the UK release is coming soon, no idea which label
