Seriously, this is the most inhumane and dumb shit someone could do.
I adopted a pair earlier this year and the guy who sold them to me had them in this tiny little cage that could maybe fit one for a short weekend trip.
First thing I did when I got home was ordering a giant cage off amazon. (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00176F5L0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_QxfjCb9X61SPW)
For the time they were in the tiny cage until the new one arrived, they wouldn't move much and looked miserable and angry.
Now they are active and have tons of room to fly around in their cage and look much happier than when I got them.
If you have a bird store near you, I'd look for natural perches (real wood) but there's also this online, and rope perches are also great, which you can buy at petco or any bird store.
This is the ideal cage. Make sure you’re not feeding them only seeds, as it can lead to fatty liver disease. Vegetables need to be very common in their diet to be happy along with the occasional fruit. Teflon pans heated up really hot can emit toxic fumes which can kill birds, along with febreze, clorox, and candles that are too close to the cage or in the same room. Make sure he has many toys and get natural wood perches instead of dowel, dowel perches aren’t healthy for their feet. Harrisons Pellets is really good. Also, budgies like music. Do plenty of research because budgies are very complicated pets to own but very worth it.
Here's the Amazon page
It's meant for dogs and cats so there isn't a perch in it so I'm trying to figure out a way to put one in there. But overall it's a pretty good bag and I'm happy with it. I especially like the bubble part.
Looks pretty good, I see some natural branches and it looks like a nice size. I'd recommend some more toys like these shredding toys. Along with that, you could replace a dowel perch with a rope perch and be able twist it in any way you want, and if there's a bird store near you look for some more natural perches (or anything else I mentioned) there.
Not about the cage setup, so I understand you're not asking about this, but a change of diet is needed and the sticks of seeds aren't the healthiest.
Is he tame? And do you have a good sized cage for him? This cage is ideal along with a diet of pellets, vegetables, and the occasional fruit along with natural wood perches and plenty of toys is ideal for a budgie, that is if you intend on keeping him.
Okay so the one you have set up isn’t bad, if they don’t stay in it all day it’ll be fine, and you don’t need a humongous cage for them things called flight cages are great for them and a simple one like this will be great too, just be sure to put around 3-5 toys in the cage as to not crowd it and budgies do need mental stimulation and toys are a big help for that, oh and when buying toys mirrors are a big no because they tend to cause psychological damage, and natural wood perches are great for them because if they don’t have perches of differing sizes and textures then they may end up with foot problems later on, but for other budgie care questions I recommend a YouTube Channel called AlenAxP, it’ll really help you out here, Good luck!

It's their first time using it! My wife got it for us through Amazon. It's really just a kids washing up set, but clearly very successful with birbs. Uses two AA batteries in the faucet.
I have yet to see a cage size in a pet store that is actually big enough for most birds, it’s actually ridiculous.
I researched and looked everywhere so you don’t have to lol
This was the best cage I found that was reasonably priced, big enough height wise but more importantly, width wise. It’s higher up on its own stand, there’s storage room on the stand for all your bird stuff, easy to clean, huge door, I can’t say enough good things about this cage.
I purchased the larger 63in one. My budgies love it and so do I. I highly recommend. I also was looking at the cage that eucalyptia is suggesting, looks like another solid option.
There’s a few other great options on Amazon too.
VolksRose Bird Parrot Swing Toys, Chewing Hanging Bells Pet Birds Cage Hammock Swing Stand Toys for Small Parakeets, Cockatiels, Parrots, Conures, Budgie, Macaws, Parrots, Love Birds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J43FGSW/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_RFHY2JSXGW26FKHA35C8 I'm pretty much spamming now. Sorry but here's a good example of multiple toys for only 6.99
Is it just for one budgie? If it is than it’s great! The only things I recommend are a few natural perches like these and from your context you are a new budgie owner so first off kudos to getting lots of things a budgie needs as most new budgie owners that haven’t done much reasearch don’t, but I also recommend a great YouTube Channel AlenAxP, it’s a great channel for new budgie owners!Good luck!
You should always have a flight cage. That cage is not big enough for one budgie let alone 2 and only has one toy. This cage is ideal. And I would recommend using this amazon list for budgie toys and etc
Tall cages are bad too because budgies fly horizontal. The thing you should always ask yourself while looking at a budgie cage is “can my budgie extend his or her wings fully and fly a good distance?” And also make sure you feed your budgie pellets as an alternative to seeds and give them leafy greens regularly
There are softwares that cut out background noise in real time. Something like Krisp might work. I've never tried it, but it's on my to-do list. https://krisp.ai/ https://youtu.be/hrQ_2JhEKpY
You can also invest in microphones that limit background noise, usually by ignoring certain frequencies or being very specific about which direction and how close it needs to be to the source. My old mic used to be good at filtering out regular chirping noises but would clearly pick up his speaking voice from across the room.
Im going to link one that is legitimate your way! Mine im not sure if there is a gaurentee on its length because the one i had had 1 review and was suppost to be short. I measured mine and found one the same length <3

Female birds love to chew on wood, and they make special toys for that made out of shreddable wood called kabobs. I keep my birds supplied with them, because if they use one up and i don't replace it, they start chewing up their perches. But as long as they have a kabob, that's all they'll chew. Keeps them busy all day.
https://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Products-Flight-Cage-White/dp/B001NPX5BC/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=white+bird+cage&qid=1595885323&sr=8-11 this is the cage i bought for my two budgies and they absolutely love it! they like the white because it makes it a tad brighter 🤩
this cage is pretty great, and my birds absolutely love it, if your birds will be outside for most/all of the day, this cage will work. The problem with the first commenter's cage is that it's very narrow, and as most birds like to be as high as possible it can get crowded at the top, and leave a lot of empty space at the bottom.
I just bought two of these and they are AWESOME for the money.... put one on top of your cage so your bird has somewhere to perch when it's out of the cage..

There’s way more like 80 balls for 15$ but it’s a different brand, don’t know if that really makes a change tho
They sell small pet fountains on Amazon, they’re normally for water bowls but small birds love taking baths in them!! Here
Even though you're dad won't let you get a new cage, plastic perches are very bad for them and I would get natural perches, which is much better for them. You also need toys, which should be at any large petstore or bird store, but these would be good. Toys and perches are not just recommendations, they are needed.
Right, so you can still gain your birds trust it’ll probably just be harder, you’ll want to take it very slow and as gentle as possible millet is a good way to entice budgies as you said there isn’t many bird stores about but at your local petsmart you should be able to find some if not you can order a pack like this and then you start by placing your hand near his cage, after he seems comfortable with that you might want to put your hand in the cage, just inside the entrance then after he gets used to that eventually slowly inch your way to him once he seems comfortable with that try and feed him some millet from your hand, then once he seems alright with it place your finger above his feet and press your finger against his stomach gently and remember throughout the process to not make sudden movements and to never tell or scream or hit him then once he starts to perch on your finger you can decide where to go from there but the YouTube Channel AlenAxP has good videos on these things, wish you luck!
I keep my budgie's feathers too! I have no clue what I am going to do with them though, I just keep them in a jar.
I did think about picking out the tiny little feathers of hers (she has a beautiful periwinkle cheek patch and the little baby feathers are so cute!) and putting them in a locket like this one. I think it would be so stinking cute to have a locket necklace to wear to take her with me out of the house, kinda!
Definitely do some research first. In general, budgies are very fragile birds and can be hurt easily. Also, they won't show signs of sickness until it is very bad. Contact an avian vet in your area before getting a budgie to make sure you have somewhere to go if there's an emergency.
There are a lot of things in a house that can be dangerous to budgies. Things such as the coatings on non-stick pans and some plants could possibly kill your bird.
The cage itself should be large and spacious. There's no such thing as too big a cage. This cage is a good size and anything larger is even better.
Put a variety of natural perches and toys in their cage. Don't use the dowel perches (the long smooth perches that come with cages) as they can give your budgies arthritis. Toys should be a combination of chewing and foraging toys. You can get perches and toys on Amazon or in most pet stores.
This definitely doesn't cover everything a first-time budgie parent should know, so feel free to ask any questions!
Got it on amazon. Not the sturdiest cage ever, but can't beat the price for that size. My birds love it! Also comes with platforms and ladders you can arrange where you want. Finch Parakeet Canary Cockatiel Breeder Metal Large Flight Bird Cage 30 By 18 By 36 Inch H https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TEUZEQM?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
get some natural wood perches (or make some) and get more toys he can shred and destroy.
also, this is a really good bird cage: bird cage
it's a great cage for a really good price.
my boy likes his rope toy because he can bully it, and he has something like a birb kabob, except instead of wood it's woven straw stuff.
I believe there are nail trimming perches you can buy. found one on Amazon here
I saw your other post. Is your budgies cage (near the window) in your room? If so, I would honestly just work on budgie-proofing the room and letting him fly around/wander during the day. If he just uses the cage to sleep or chill, it doesn't really need to be big.
Otherwise I found
Here’s a link to mine: YINTATECH 53-inch Bird Cage for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BTJ7GS5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Walmart also has some good ones online. I basically just search for “large bird cage”. I dont type in parakeet or budgie because those ones are always smaller and sometimes rounded which is apparently bad. For example, the cage I got is a parrot cage I think. There’s a lot of options out there, but pay attention to reviews because some cages are trash
I did just put up a listing for custom animal pendants in my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/178992768/custom-hand-painted-animal-pendant
You can request any animal you want, and if you have a pet I can make it to look like them. I'm more than happy to work with you to create a pendant that meets what you are looking for!
Have you put up lost flyers with his picture? Put them up around your neighborhood, local vets, local shelters, etc. There are websites like nextdoor, and pet lost and found groups on facebook. Don't give up on him! Check your local shelters too. Someone may have found him and turned him in.
I would suggest this link pet carrier for the birds. It is expensive but suits for most keets/parrots& can be covered completely from all sides. I use it to bring my birds to the vet using electric scooter. I also use it to bring my birds for dog walks or outside hangouts (one of my parrots is terrified of crows & magpies so she needs it to be shielded from all the sides when we are out. When Im scooting I cover it completely & there was not once an incident with panic attacks on their behalf!
Budgies are extremely easy to get traumatized by relocation & even exposure to outdoors stuff in a wrong way may cause a heart attack. So I would not recommend open carrier or one of those astronaut bubble backpacks cuz bird can just flip out & hurt itself or worse
Looks pretty good! I would just recommend more natural wood perches, because aside from one (and what appears to be a flat perch) you just have a bunch of dowel. I would also suggest some shredding toys, because those seem to be all three of my bird's favorite toys. (when my first budgie was young that was all he would play with)
Also, how much do your birds play with those toys? I'd like to get a pack, but don't know if my birds would be interested in some of them and would rather not waste 15$ if I could help it.
It's all about taking baby steps with him. He probably does not feel particularly safe outside the cage, so if possible make sure the cage is at least along a wall, if not in a corner of the room, and off the floor. This will help him feel a bit more secure.
If the new cage has a flat top, put a perch on top. It may encourage him to climb out and sit up there. My birds love this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091DRBCJL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just be as patient as you can, and keep working with him.
So for a good flight cage is this one and it’s around 50% off right now on Amazon but usually ones at your local petsmart aren’t good for your little borb and while many good cages are expensive it’s worth it in the long run as it helps keep your birb healthier than if it were in a tiny cage, Good luck !
Mine was the same way. I got some cage clips and put a piece of lettuce, kale, or spinach right next to his food bowl or his main perch spot so he munches on it.
This is the cage I have for my single budgie, but you could probably keep 2 or 3 in it.
EDIT: She also gets free reign of the house while I or someone else is home (which is most of the time).
https://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Pet-Products-Travel-Animals/dp/B010FAZSY2
I would recommend this. Easier to handle on transort, not too big for the birds to be jostled, and you can more easily cover it with a dishcloth to keep them calm. Amazon images show two budgies and it looks like enough space.
Plus, less expensive!
no, it’s way too small. get a flight cage like this instead. even if you let your bird fly around outside of the cage, it doesn’t excuse the fact that it’s a terrible cage
I'd say that would only fit three budgies, I'd recommend a flight cage for 6 budgies, like https://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Hendryx-F050-Products-Hammertone/dp/B0002AQ228/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=flight+cage&qid=1621534938&sr=8-4#review-media-gallery_1621534969002
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EQ28WX0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm a big fan of this one. It's sturdy and since mine are also new and scared I'm able to divide them into whatever side I'm not working on which makes them feel much more secure. It's also modular so if I get another conure as planned I can add a level and keep the same footprint
Absolutely agree here. Not necessarily this exact item, but this kind of thing is much better:
Deloky 7 Packs Bird Parrot Swing Chewing Toys-Hanging Bell Bird Cage Toys Suitable for Small Parakeets, Cockatiels, Conures, Finches,Budgie,Macaws, Parrots, Love Birds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RSV1VJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GMJV1ZBQYTW9F37SRJAM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Avoid mirrors in particular - birds get addicted to them and it’s not good.
You could try egg food made for budgies/birds instead of eggs like we eat. I have a dry egg food mix that I add a bit of to my birds' food and they seem to enjoy it. I'm in Canada and I got this brand on Amazon. Something similar with work (with vitamins or supplements on top if you want)
Also try giving new foods in the morning when your birds are the most hungry with nothing else. Keep an eye in them and they're more likely to eat it.
You can find it right here, it is kind of a pain in the a— but I made it work for office trips and short road trips. I had to pop the plastic back in. It is kind of like a weird LEGO.
Bought this perch to lift them and give them a little pedicure while we travel.
It doesn’t come with the H2O bottle as pictured, but does have a cool little snack tray.
Hope this helps!
They don’t need a schedule for eating. The important part is that you provide fresh water, seeds and veggies daily.
The veggies will take time but start in chop form. Start with one veggie, put a teaspoon in their seeds. Do that a few days in a row with the same veggie then start again with another one. And so on until you’ve tried quite a few.
The most popular are broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, kale, spinach.
There’s also legumes you can try like barley, wild rice and quinoa (all cooked but not too much).
There’s also Goldenfeast’s Hookbill blend that you can mix in with their chop - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002FP3GE?ref=exp_livelaughbirds_dp_vv_mw
I bought this one for my 2 budgies It has its pros and cons. Original perches are there, albeit low in the case. Higher up natural wood. They mostly stay on those. Biggest problem so far has been redoing my not too large living to get a Christmas tree in as the cage took that spot. Still need to look for some replacements of the revolving feeders. And strangely enough the amazon.com site says only 2 of those while in I have the same model but with 4 of them.
I would recommend a pervue cage. Purchase a large cage. Move your current budgie to the new cage and quarantine the new one in the smaller old cage!! Wishing you the luck on your birdie journey. Link to cage: Prevue Hendryx Pet Products Wrought Iron Flight Cage https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00176F5L0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_1p8.FbHWJGDD4?psc=1
I'm sorry this cage doesn't meet your budget requirements, but it's the cheapest one that I could find. Any cage larger than that is also perfect for your budgies. You should have at least 6-7 natural perches for your birds, as well as at least 5 chewing and foraging toys. Each bird needs their own food and water bowls, so four bowls in total. You also want a cuttlebone for them to trim their beaks and get calcium. Make sure they eat pellets (if they don't already, you can gradually convert them to pellets) and a lot of vegetables. Seeds and fruit should only be given as a treat. You don't need a nest, unless you want them to breed/have babies. Make sure they aren't near any open windows and remove any things such as scented candles and non-stick pans (those can be very toxic for them.) Hope this helped!
I always have a perch high in the cage, my bird loves to sleep high so maybe try that? Also buy on amazon a perch that helps with the nails; https://www.amazon.nl/dp/B003XSJGLK/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_fabc_8gsZFbQ6MG94Y. Maybe that one high in the cage. My bird also loves bells that rinkle. I also have this plateau in my cage where the bird can stand on. I think your bird is very lucky with all the toys! Like everyone else in the comments say: little less toys. But i believe when they get older: the more the marier. I see lots of bird youtubers have lots of toys so i guess you have to wait and see whay your birds liked and how active he/she is. Have fun and goodluck!
Have you put him on an almost all pelleted diet with only sprouted seeds and liver detoxifying foods/ drinks? Theres a good brand I recommend called Lily Of The Desert and I give it to Fig once a week to detoxify. It might help prolong your birds life, if just a little longer. Im so sorry and I know liver issues is prevalent with birds. I hope he lives a lot longer and even recovers if possible :(
Was it the sedation that was expensive? I heard from my vet that day that anesthesia is about $220. I wish vets were a lot cheaper 😭 Im thinking of signing up for pet insurance and see if that helps, but its hard as heck
This is the cage I use You & Me Finch Rectangle Flight... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074P4T56Z?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share its only good enough if you let them out. Keep in mind longer cages are better than taller, birds fly side to side, not up and down. My birds hang out on top of the cage most of the day. Then I put them to sleep in their cage. I leave the cage open all day so if they want to go in or out they can. I also highly suggest toys. Your birds will get depressed &’ might even start plucking their feathers.
The double critter nation small animal cage is actually great for budgies and cockatiels; just don't put any of the shelves or ladders in while you are building it.

Namihei♥ I really hope her surgery tomorrow goes well!
Her little house is SO cute! It's available on Amazon Japan, but I think they do global shipping. I'm sure your budgie would love it. 😊
It is! We got it from amazon: bird cage
That's almost identical to my cage, except mine is a Prevue. The only difference I can see is that yours has doors in the front, and n my cage, they are on the side. It's a great cage! Easy to clean, and I love the shelf.

if he has previously had mites i would take him to a vet!! mites can be not just superficial and can damage them from the inside, i had a budgie die to a mite infection that she had before i had adopted her even though i was told she was fine. maybe opening a window and letting him hear the birds outside will help him start singing more, or you can play youtube videos of budgies singing in the meantime while he can get another buddy. keep in mind budgies love music and when you talk to them, they’ll sing along and they can pick up speech pretty fast if you are consistent with training! i think i found a link to the perches available in your area here i’m happy to help you and ur new budgie!
That's what I've been doing. I get him to practice step up onto the edge of the carrier. Since it's a top open carrier he can easily just fly out if I try putting him inside. There's no perch inside so maybe that's something I should do first. Drill a hole in it and put a perch in there...because it's not really a cage what I have. What I have is the link below. More a carrier box.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B006JVPL8A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ioaCFbRQVHCT8
If you do not have space for a flight cage, and only have space for a table top cage I would recommend this one:
Prevue Hendryx Flight Cage https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SK7HOYA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vaQxFbYNK94F3
That would provide a better space for a single budgie as long as you let him spend time outside his cage when you get home from the office.
Nope, not at all. Budgies need to be able to fly. Also those dowel perches are terrible for their feet, they need natural wood. This cage is really good, just remove the dowel perches and replace with natural wood
She is absolutely beautiful!! From experience, try to steer clear of toys that use an excessive amount of dye or the colors will eventually come off onto her. This is the cage that I have had my two budgies in for about 4 months now and they are the happiest birdies! They enjoy the white because it makes it a little brighter inside. I wish you and your baby the best! 🥰🥰

It depends a lot on your intentions, how much space you have and how much money you plan to spend.
If you plan to take out your budgie(s) often daily then a smaller cage is fine for bed and if you need to leave the house. But general rule is always ‘the bigger the better!’ If you dont plan to be able to let them out of their cage as often then a bigger cage is definitely recommended along with a bunch of toys. Also if you plan not to take them out as often it’s recommended you buy at least two budgies as if they are alone and aren’t being taken out to socialize they will get very lonely. If you have the time, the money and the space its always better to have a big cage even if they are going to be out and about a good amount of time.
Prevue is a good brand that has good cages, but in general for the cages I’d look specifically at the doors and bars! The bars are simple. Make sure the bars are close enough that they can get stuck. As for the doors The bigger the door the easier it will be to take them out and the harder it’ll be for them to escape on their own. Also avoid guillotine doors, and make sure any doors or openings cant be easily opened by the bird.
This is the cage i have for my budgies (i have 3 in one and 2 in another) and it may be overkill for one budgie, but it would be like a mansion for any budgie you adopt.
Yaheetech 39-inch Roof Top Large... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JZ9PDLT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I have all the info right here:) It’s super affordable compared to other cages of its size. My only complaint is how small it is length wise, but my budgies are always out and about in my room so it makes up for that aspect
i found a better deal for perches on amazon! let me know if the link doesn’t work perches here he probably isn’t singing because he may be lonely or just not adjusted to the environment yet. just in case i would take him to a vet to make sure he’s healthy. if you need any suggestions for good toys let me know!
I wouldn't take any risks with the bar spacing. There are bigger cages that still have spacing >1cm/0.5inches. As an example a cage that a friend of mine bought for her birds. It's more expensive in the UK - at least at amazon - and you should ask a friend to help with the set up. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferplast-Planeta-Cages-Stand-Wheels/dp/B072HMFBGM/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=ferplast+bird+cage&qid=1597855785&sprefix=ferplast&sr=8-12
Guess it’s different on the american amazon but here it is
My birds' cage has a different type of door, so I don't have this issue right now. But, it seems like I used clothespins in the past to contain my previous escapee. There's a way to clip them on to "lock" the door closed. Bread wraps seem like a pain.
Edit: I have one green and one blue budgie. May I request availability of accurate flair, please? ;)
Also, one of these "Swivel Snap Hooks" would be handy.
Well I mean need might be a strong word but it would be nice to have? Usually a mixture of seeds and pellets, and I do refill their seed daily but like I said it's nice when I'm away and having someone watch them if it can hold enough seed that I'm not worried it won't fill enough. The other things would be really nice though, being able to fill from the outside (so I don't have to worry about them getting out if they're at someone else's place) and the tray that lets them get rid of the shells without needing to be at the bottom of an open bin. I have seen some feeders like this, but there's a lot of no name brands and some of them have bad reviews so I was more wondering if anyone here had gotten one and liked it.
Example of one such feeder here, can't vouch for it since I don't have one but if no one gives a reccomendation of a better one maybe I'll give this one a try: example "smart" feeder
Looks to be about 20"L x 10"W? It's a decent cage for one budgie, especially compared to the previous cage but make sure he gets a lot of time outside the cage to properly exercise each day.
The others already gave you good suggestions on what to add but because of how small the cage is, make sure not to over fill it, he'll still need room to get in a couple wing flaps between perches. Extra toys and perches can be added to the outside of the cage for him to interact with when he's out.
For the future, the minimum cage size for one budgie or two bonded budgies is 30"L x 18"W. You can compare your cage to the customer photos of this 30x18 cage: https://www.amazon.com/You-Me-Finch-Rectangle-Flight/dp/B074P4T56Z and see how much bigger it is. Budgies do better with a budgie buddy but if you try to add anymore budgies to your current cage, they may have issues.
Budgie's are best kept in even numbers: 2, 4, 6...
Budgies pair up naturally and when a bonded pair is hanging out, they don't like 3rd wheel invading their space. If you keep odd-numbered budgies, there will always be one budgie that doesn't get as much socializing as the other budgies. Sometimes they can be fight instigators and trigger jealousy.
30x18x18 is the minimum cage size for one budgie or a bonded pair of budgies. If you introduce a 3rd to a cage that size, I can guarantee there will be issues, especially if they spend most of the week locked inside.
My advice: If you want more budgies, first upgrade your cage size to something bigger like: https://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Pet-Products-Playtop-Flight/dp/B07JPHQCYV/
Then wait until you can get 2 budgies instead of 1. Use your old cage to do the 30day quarantine with the new budgies then introduce them slowly to the bigger cage.
I like your selection of toys. You might want to get a millet holder for when you want to give your bird a treat. I like this one, it makes them work a little bit to get at it which keeps them occupied for a while. "Busy beaks are happy beaks," I always say.

Note that you can commonly find this millet holder in pet stores.
Yep, that is exactly what my budgies were doing too. The one I ended up getting was from amazon:

It took them some time but now they each fly to their individual "rooms" for dinner and then I tuck them in for the night. They both seem much happier now and no more nighttime stress and fights happening.
I get manzanita perches from petsmart. I also have a store near me that’s specifically for birds so you Mitch’s want to see if you have one of those. My birds also have https://www.amazon.com/LIMIO-Parakeet-Platform-Accessories-Supplies/dp/B0932K4CYL/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=3T5HK41NT6WX9&keywords=bird+perch+set&qid=1669765644&sprefix=bird+perch+se%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-5#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div
Time to get a roll of the zig-zag stuff or some other bird safe shredding material for bird chewing and weave it in and out of the metal rods left? Create another basket for destruction?
This is the material I was thinking of that I found on Amazon.
One like this. Unfortunately there are some quality control issues so you gotta make sure you got one that doesn’t leak (although tbh I think some people aren’t bright and don’t realize they’ve thrown out the rubber washer that maintains the seal). You also do still need to clean it daily, but in his research he conducted in his office, he found it took several days for a bottle to accumulate unsafe levels of bacteria, as opposed to just a few hours with an open water cup (less if they poop in it).
Additional warning if you have a bird who LOVES dunking their food. If you do, you still want to provide a bowl of water at meal times, and be extra cautious to check the bottle is flowing daily. It hasn’t happened to any of my birds or my vets patients, but I have read a story of a bird that almost died from dehydration because it was so determined to dunk that it shoved a bunch of food in the water bottle tip, and I guess the owner negligently didn’t clean it out or check if for multiple days.
It might take awhile for her to feel okay again. I would keep trying to do as much of the routine she’s use to. That way she has familiarity. I mean if she won’t do it you can’t help it but any part she wants to take part in is good. I would try to be near her as much as you can. If where she is isn’t a frequent area where people are if you’re able maybe move her where there is. You could play her some animal videos or put some music on so she feels less alone. Otherwise I would give her time. I personally would give her a few more days to process what’s happened and then try to start bonding again. Perhaps someone else will know better when it would be a good time. I hope she feels better soon and will be more responsive to you guys.
You could also get her some gong like this so she has something to snuggle with.
You could get your budgies a little bath to put inside rhe cage.
It’s in their nature to want to wash themselves.
Depending on your cage there’s ones that hang onto the cage opening. My new one unfortunately has a really big door but I was able to find thisbirdbath on Amazon that I can hang INSIDE the cage.
Mine thoroughly enjoy splashing around from time to time. They have a metal food dish too, but only use that for drinking.
Here’s the pegboard I purchased. It has a nice space in the back for standard perches. If you look at some of previous posts you can see it more clearly! It’s night where I’m at now :) but I can post more in the future!
They're like see through backpacks with ventilation cutouts. I found this one on amazon and it looked good for my conure but I'm not sure if the holes are too big for the budgies. I wouldn't recommend those is overly hot weather though.
This cage is a really nice size, and because it's basically two cages made into one it's wider than most other large cages.
I'm still fairly new to budgies (much more familiar with cockatiels), but bar spacing should be 0.5in or less for budgies bc they can wriggle themselves into a bad situation and get stuck otherwise :(

Not sure about your price range, but this is what I got for my budgies (after literally 8 days of research and reading reviews). YMMV with shipping results according to reviews, but mine showed up in good condition; two slightly bent bars, and there was a space between bars in the door that was over 0.5in due to screw placement, but I blocked the gap with a repurposed natural wood perch that is safe for them to chew on :)
My budgies do have at least an hour of outside cage time on my work days, and are free to be in or out of their cage for most of their awake time on my days off, so if they won't have a lot of free-flight time, you might want to consider something even bigger for two!
Again, I'm not an expert by any means, but hopefully this helps some!
Link to product. They don't appear to be specifically designed for birds, which makes me cautious.
I highly recommend looking at the critter nation cage, it isn’t sold as a bird cage. But has 3/4 inch bar spacing, horizontal bars to hang things, doors that open all the way at the front, wheels, storage under, super sturdy, the tray slides out to be easily cleaned, great size as it’s wide, and WAY cheaper than cages advertised for birds. Also you can buy an add on part and make the cage double tall if you want it bigger. I can’t stop recommending it to everyone because it’s a great great option for bang for your buck. Not this, but I had a rope perch with a tassel at the end meant for shredding. My Rose-Breasted Cockatoo died because of it. After she died I had a necropsy done; the vet verified that she had ingested parts of the rope toy and that’s what killed her. After that I’m very wary of any cloth toys. The hormonal factor is also a big problem.
The have a Senegal parrot who is older and I used to have a perch that plugged in and got warm. After it stopped working (it lasted about 10 years) I got this: https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-9050-Snuggle-Warmer/dp/B07HMLT6SM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=72159370772&gclid=Cj0KCQiAg_KbBhDLARIsANx7wAz7X7fJh-cuvCNC45rkX17JMq1knVMbfLHktyAt6xpRr-F4DHXOm4EaAntlEALw_wcB&hvadid=631495971057&hvdev=m&.... (If the link doesn’t work: it’s a K&H Pet Products snuggle-up bird warmer. K&H also makes the perch that I used before.
I’ve had the snuggle up bird warmer for three years and it’s always plugged in. It works very well. I place it near one of the perches so there’s a spot in the cage that stays warm.
It's not bad but I'd be concerned with how dark it is having only one side open for light. You might want to install an in-cage light like: https://www.amazon.com/PetLight-Full-Spectrum-Cage-Light/dp/B072YJ6YJC
Oh, if it's only 30'x17.5" length & width, I'd pass on it honestly. Budgies use horizontal space. Especially if you have more than one budgie, they will want to stay at the same height so 30" will start to feel cramped if you have more than two budgies.
When you said "7 feet" I was expecting something like: https://www.amazon.com/Double-Birdhouse-Treehouse-Bird-Flight/dp/B00UW553TG/
be very careful with the heater you use as many can be toxic to birds. this is the one i use as it has no teflon coating. De'Longhi Comfort Temp Full Room... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TGDGLU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I do, if I don't then my newer one will freak out at night and I'll wake up to flock calling. They have a big cage (this one) so as long as I make sure to have high perches on separate sides of the cage, it's fine. They don't argue or hurt each other unless either food or a high perch is involved (which is why I make sure there's multiple), they just aren't affectionate and don't really spend time with each other. They're out pretty much all day anyways, but right now for example they're in the same cage but on different perches, which is pretty much their entire relationship.
What news, they are not UV lights. Sometimes I make them wear tiny polarized sunglasses and I spray sunscreen on them. They are linkable lights.

@ u/op That cage is just big enough for two budgies, four is pushing it, and 5 will fight for space. You also only have two food cups so there will be fights over food as well since budgies resource guard, each budgie needs it's own access point to food.
This cage looks like it's 25-28" horizontal, you're going to need either a proper flight cage that no less than 35" horizontal like https://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Products-F030-Aviary-Flight/dp/B000BQU2R4?tag=thepetsupplyg-20&th=1
or a 2nd cage of the same size to separate them if they don't have a full room to spend most of the day in.
Also more perches, natural wood branches not dowels, and much more toys.
