I second the spiked crampons for your shoes and the cane tip. I used this one and it worked well. Hope the link works.
If you don’t need back support, maybe something like this?
Or this
I saw someone say cup holder I 2nd tht. b I got one of these style cup holders at a garage sale best dollar I ever spent these these self leveling ones are great they prevent you from spilling hot coffee on yourself wasent this exact one... it's a mater of one that will work for there chair...
I'm assuming that cleaning it every time she uses it isn't feasible? If the commode had a urine storage area that sealed off from where she would sit to use it, that would help. Like a camp toilet or RV toilet. Some of them have detachable tanks that you remove to clean. Like this sort of thing. She could also try dumping in something to absorb the odor right after she goes, like baking soda.
Yes, probably smart. You could maybe get an insulated one (like a thermos) and then you could keep it warm if you wanted - even though you don’t mind it cold, warm sometimes might be nice to mix it up a bit and also be nicer in winter.
If not a thermos, I like the soup mugs like this
I also reuse some containers that I bought ready-made soup in that have screw on lids and are liquid tight, and were essentially free.
How about something like this? You could do it sitting in whatever chair of your choice
I'd recommend a good solid walker. I've been using this one:

This is the link to where I bought it. I refer to it as "old lady florals" lmaoo. I acually kinda like it in a way I bought it because it was the cheapest. I have been thinking of bedazzling it.... Not sure I have the patience haha. I do need to get a wrist strap or something because I have the worse grip and it always falls lol. I actually have a photographer friend and she has agreed to take some photos for me with the cane, and also some with my back brace showing, its my scoliosis brace. I want to be able to look at myself with them and love what I see. I'll definitely post those when i get them. I'm so excited.
Get him some of this stuff.
This line also has bathing wipes, shampoo caps, shampoo and conditioner. No water required, medical grade. Designed for disabled people. There's even a peri wahs he could use for his stoma if he wants.

I like this one.
You might also want to look into yoga for people who are recovering. Also, neck stretches work for me to help me get comfy at night. I search for tension headache stretches on YouTube and try different techniques from different folks.
Good luck!
The Diablo is playable with 1 hand. It's what I play a lot and I'm a C5 C6 Quad. I have very little use of my left arm, but I have good control over my right arm, I just can't use my fingers. I just turn my mouse sideways and use the side of my hand to push the buttons. That's how I play every game. Torchlight 1 and 2 are very similar to Diablo, and if he isn't into RPG, there's a bunch of good Strategy he can play. Red Alert series, WarCraft, StarCraft, Age of Empires, Empire Earth, CnC Generals to name a few. There's also Sim City series, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and The Sims. It all depends on what he's into. I own all the games I listed and they are easy to play with just the mouse. Half of them are actually pretty cheap, and often come bundled and a big discount. I buy a lot of games from GOG.com . I bought RTC 1,2,3 and all there expansion packs in 1 bundle for around 8 bucks about a year ago
I use a laptop stand for lying down and notation -there are a whole bunch of options and works well enough to at least type this comment whilst in bed and sitting propped against the wall/headboard.
I refused crutches and went straight to a rolling walker. There are some really nice ones with a built in seat and a basket, etc. they even fold up for the car and they aren’t too expensive (about $60 for a nice one). I hope you can afford to get one… definitely ask the doctor to prescribe one but don’t settle for the gross aluminum one that is covered by most insurance.
Here’s the one I have:
There are several types of wheelchair ramps, also permanent and removable . When your hiring people to fix up your house you might find that most carpenters can either build or follow a blueprint/ design / tutorial There are even a few YouTube videos for making them and Amazon sells Prairie View Industries Portable Multi-Fold Reach Wheelchair Ramp, 36 Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009QWASK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_i_Q1j5FbHRTB6YN
Have you reached out to friends and family? I’m assuming so, or you probably wouldn’t be posting here.
If you need a mobility device to get to work, call around to local churches. They probably won’t have any laying around but they may be able to help you purchase them. If you can find one with a robust social service system (food pantry, child care center, etc.) I doubt they’d turn you away.
I don’t know what your definition of cheap is, but there are Amazon options ~$20 (Drive Medical Tall Adult Walking Crutches with Underarm Pad and Handgrip, Gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005I5NG1W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Pcg7DbJ1EBMV4). If you can’t afford that and the churches don’t turn anything up, DM me. I may be able to help.
EDIT: Also, if you live in a major city, see if there’s a public hospital.
