Here is a video of someone trying out several rear spoiler extensions and showing some of the construction/material differences. Long video but I think was worth the watch https://youtu.be/BEu8pusKC8s
I ordered these side window visors (direct from the company not Amazon) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R8NFG1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_K0WJJQ2A9T451RA0X7EY
Will post up when I get them installed.
This is the one I got, came with an app that had a bunch of that stuff pre coded and you just hit a button to activate it, it does use credits that you pay for but you get a certain amount with it to play with https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07L75WVFL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_ETWPDGP8FJX57AAFHVPF
Can also use it to calculate battery % / health
Yeah those will fit!
The originals Are Aerotwin 650/450mm like these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068M0JKA
though I much prefer getting mine from an actual Bosch/Valeo distributor as some of the clones are very short lived in the Australian summer.
Mine errored out recently after it was submerged in water.. Unfortunate but at least it was the charger and not the car's port itself. I purchased this one, and it has been working out well. It has Tier 2 as standard but comes with an adapter for Tier 1.
I wasn’t aware that any compliance cars’ chassis were modified at all from their ICE counterparts. I’m assuming you are correct, thank you for correcting me there. For OP I’m leaving a link where you can purchase a tunnel geometry modification device.
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HKLCXPJ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_6A01P27RVETW3R5MEG56?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
With this adapter coming in https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XNSXWM4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_4H5RQBKT5DXVZPT1K9PQ
We're planning to stay at the fernwood campground and they confirmed that's the plug they use, but they also have standard 110v outlets if needed. I'm planning to change the max current in vehicle to 16a or 13a just to be safe with a 110v. I'm still looking for a decently priced 5-15 plug to 14-50 receiver as I ran into the exact problem you mentioned.
https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Diamond-Vision-Halogen-Bulbs/dp/B007JZKBVW/
Price was right and I like the color. The visibility is great. I think the lifespan is short, but oh well.
Also I did have to take the frontend apart to get the lights back in, it wasn't trivial but there are videos out there
You can buy deeper dust caps at Amazon. Auxbeam Waterproof Rubber Housing Seal Cap Dust Cover forLED Headlight Conversion Kit Retrofit, LED Headlight Bulb Kit, Pack of 2 (75MM) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073QPRKJR/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_J6HZ2JJKJG77EZ8HWMD9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Hold them on with a zip tie all the way around
i just went through this. you want this product:
https://www.siriusxm.com/infotainment
i was told i could only get Traffic Plus and Traffic Link together for 5.98/mo.
I had let my trial lapse. I then signed up online for one of the music plans that includes traffic, except that’s traffic channels, not data. if you go into the settings for sirius xm there a “subscription info” screen that shows the subscription status, and there are two items listed, music and traffic.
i called to try to convert my subscription to traffic and got the run around and was eventually told what you were, not compatible and to call the dealer. i instead cancelled the music subscription. after i could see the cancellation visible online, i called back and asked to sub to the traffic service only. i had to avoid the upset to include music, but it worked.
such an awful company to deal with. there’s no consumer friendly reason to not let me do all of that myself online
You aren't going to be able to get a level 3 charger for at your house. Even if you could afford the charger itself, it would be prohibitively difficult to get installed. I have had a 2016 e-Golf for the past 1.5yrs. For the first 8mo, I used a level 1 charger and a 50ft extension cord. That was a really dumb solution. Earlier this year, I got a ChargePoint Home Flex EV Charger installed and it was the best choice I could have made.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WNXTHNW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title
It integrates into the ChargePoint app, so you can see if the car is charging without needing VW's crazy carnet crap. Electrify America has a similar offering but they weren't selling it yet when I bought the ChargePoint one.
For what it's worth, while I was using the 50ft extension cord, I was driving up to the grocery store all the time to use their EVgo level 3 charger for a quick top-off. Since getting the new charger installed, I haven't done that once. Level 2 is totally sufficient if you aren't on a roadtrip or something.
I'm not sure you can actually install a CCS charger at home. They are Level 3, DC fast chargers, I believe.
Level 2 chargers are pretty easily available, and plug into 220v AC outlets like you'd use for an electric clothes dryer or stove. I use thus one:
BougeRV Level 2 EV Charger (240V, 32A, 25FT) Portable EV Charging Cable EVSE Electric Vehicle Charger with NEMA 14-50P https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KNWJMBH/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_VSEYEM4QXCA9WSXVQBX9
With the eGolf, I think they have a 32A charging limit for level 2 charging, so you might want to choose a charger capable of at least 32A.

I have other wheels 225 and they do no spin, but also on a good day, the 205 will not spin. It is more about the tire quality than the width I think.
/u/deerareouttogetus posted this 3d printable dock for the egolf
They posted the model and my buddy printed it on an Ender 3 Pro in PLA. I mounted this right angle usb cable.
It. Works. Great.
I get in the car, slide my phone into the dock, feel a nice and positive 'click' and I'm on my way.
The door closes with the phone in the dock.
I also have those Lasfit LED bulbs and have been working without issues for more than a year for me on my 2019 SE, great value and quality.
You will need to replace the dust caps with a bigger one, I replaced them with these ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073QPRKJR
I have a 2016 SE and I went with just changing the lamps instead of the entire headlight unit. LED on Amazon.
The passenger side took 3 minutes to install the driver's however took longer. It's a really tight fit, so tiny hands are better. Maybe try wearing latex gloves for a better grip... German engineering everything is tighter than a man's ass. Don't get me started on the tire pump cord.
I'm super happy with the lights. They look crisp and bright and it was only $100. Zero regrets.
As I’m still waiting for these companies to answer my questions about their headlight units, I ended up buying some nice OEM LED sequential turn signals for my mirrors because the stock option is trash and basically useless in daylight. Amazon link here. Oh and shopdap.com sells these as well, albeit at a slightly higher price. But if you want the best, brightest, and most OEM-like choice to go with those LED headlights it’s gonna be the Osram model I linked above. Will post comments once I receive and install it. You’re welcome 😇
I had a charger that would not wake up with my eGolf, and I replaced it with this one 240V), which works fine: Morec 32 Amp EV Charger Level 2,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FNZBR5W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Great--thank you. Does this one look good?
Mine has been rock solid all around. You might want to also spring for the extra holster attachment they sell to hold the nozzle, or maybe something like this on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CP3J95D/
I got the one from Amazon and attached it to the side of my house near the Clipper Creek unit so that I’d have easy cable storage.
Yeah me too. My last attempt had me putting the minimum at 0%, and nothing changed. But changing the max around would cause an issue every time you plug the car in. Unless you have the same commute every day and you've already figured out the math.
But since you're on Level 1 you can just use a higher rated smart plug and program in a timer for it. I have been using this Etekcity plug at work for a while now. I just program it turn off between 1600 and 2100 and never worry about. It also tracks the energy usage too (and you can even put in your cost per kWh and track the cost). While it's not ideal, it's the best we've got for Level 1: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J5B2ZR8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just enter your car and it will return compatible products. This should work, for example:
Yes! I don't know why I didn't think of that before.
I have SmartThings at home so it's easier for me to use https://smile.amazon.com/Samsung-SMARTPLUG-GP-WOU019BBAWU-Outlet-SmartThings/dp/B07PY4YPTF/ref=psdc_6396120011_t3_B08BLS9FR3?th=1 which is rated to 1800 watts
So I have a 2016 SE with the yucky yellow halogen lights. I replaced them with these H7 LED. The passenger side light wasn't a big deal to replace and took about five minutes. the driver side however was much more difficult. There is a fuse box that makes it extremely difficult to maneuver and the hardest part is actually twisting the bulb to seat it in. It's really difficult because the casing is smooth aluminum and your hand can barley fit in. I was lucky that my friend was able as. I really didn't want to take the light off. No tools were required.
Personally I'd get either the JuiceBox or a Chargepoint unit https://www.amazon.com/ChargePoint-Home-Electric-Vehicle-Charger/dp/B07WXZDHGV
But I'm a nerd and would really miss the extra smart features. Don't discount the ability now (or in the future) to use time of use electricity rates in conjunction with a smart charger to save money, it could eventually pay for itself. Really nerdy would be https://www.openevse.com/stations.html
Joined the e-Golf family a few weeks ago, and finally got my plated from the dealer. I have a “thing” about having the dealer license plate frames on my car (once it’s mine, it’s mine, ya know?), so I had to get something to replace what they had. I took a risk onsome from amazon and am super happy! Do they match EXACTLY? No. But they’re pretty darn close!
This one came with my (used) eGolf and it works just great! Easy to take with you as well.
