Yeah, I'm getting kind of unconvinced that A) Searching for Elliott Smith is very good, and B) that it'll ever see a real release -- it was originally supposed to be available in, what, 2011? That just doesn't bode well, if you ask me. Besides, Elliott's family and friends don't really seem to be behind that one very much, which is also telling.
On the other hand, there's Heaven Adores You, which seems to be on its way soon (for real this time), and which seems much more legit and much more supported by the people in Elliott's life, from what I can tell. I'm much more excited and hopeful about that one, personally.
More info on it here at their Kickstarter page.
My personal favorite after all these years is the Grand Mal: Studio Rarities collection. There is a massive amount of material to dig through and it is really well curated. Definitely check it out!

Not gonna lie have checked this thread a dozen times over the past couple days to see if anyone has been able to identify the song. Trying to identify songs by a few notes or an intro is something I kinda get obsessed with.
I even found this review of the show, which is super informational/helpful but even the poster notes they would like to know what that song was. Likely some hip-at-the-moment song from a band that most people have forgotten about by now :<
Actually, I just found this: http://www.allmusic.com/album/yo-yo-a-go-go-97-another-live-compilation-mw0000602480 Rose Parade is on it, and I bet it's from the soundboard. But yeah, that's all there is, I guess.
Read this book first, mate
And then Tell me from where did you take those numbers. I won't say there wasn't problems, but the things you point out are just batantly absurd.
Also from what I’ve heard this is 90% accurate and it has the notation too.

The song memory lane from this book is 100% accurate.
They're surprisingly hard to find if you don't already know the name. There exists a series of 8 unofficial albums under the name Grand Mal, each full of rarities, B sides, and alternate takes.
I really enjoyed this one: Elliott Smith and the Big Nothing
I'm sure you're looking for a physical copy, but if you wish for a digital download - U.S. Amazon has it: https://www.amazon.com/Mic-City-Sons-Heatmiser/dp/B000TEPE44/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=mic+city+sons&qid=1602698387&sr=8-1
Memory Lane is a fun song to play that took a little while for me to learn. The version I learned is from this songbook Elliott Smith Songbook https://www.amazon.com/dp/1423440137/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_A4I3wbV3DB693
