At a lower level, <strong>SharpKeys</strong> lets you directly remap any key (it's a run-once app that simply modifies the registry), including media functions. For example, I remapped my useless capslock key to mute.
If you want a more analog volume control, check out Nir Sofer's <strong>Volumouse</strong> utility which lets you use a keyboard modifier with the mousewheel (e.g. shift + scroll) to modify the volume. Very customizable, too.
We don't quite denominate them as rules, but the sidebar does refer to places such as the ones you have listed. This is not a subreddit for posting trade offers, but thank you for asking so nicely. Your best bet would be something like Craigslist - something that gives you people that are local to you, or perhaps your city / state / country has a subreddit that might prove more fruitful for finding local buyers.
If you've tried hardwareswap and mechmarket already with no luck, perhaps you should consider how reasonable your offer sounds. A Ducky 3 for a TK is nonsense, while "anything black" is a lot more reasonable. Not that you're asking for my advice, but I think if you determined a dollar amount you would be happy with receiving that is 80% the value or less of a recent sale price (check camelcamelcamel for amazon listings, I'm seeing $110 as very recent), not what you paid, AND you state your general location, you are going to sound more available to do a transaction logistically, by a wide margin, and therefore more likely to get some meaningful replies. That said, you still might not see any response, in which case, you can always delete your old sale posts and try again. But not here. Good luck. :-)
If I were to buy a prebuilt 60% I'd probably go with the Anne Pro. Save yourself some money for a keyboard of similar quality.

I did! I think it's just a generic Chinese keycapset from amazon, here is the link https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07GT1CKMC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm sure you'll find it elsewhere
Try using autohotkey to see if those keys return scan codes. If they do, then they can be remapped with AHK. If they don't, then they're being processed through the firmware of the keyboard itself, and are unusable.
>Is there a software solution that solves the PC/Mac quick switch over like Logitech's Flow system has? (The copy + paste feature is pretty darn useful at times)
You know it's never too late to learn tho ? It really makes a difference and you get to speed in no time. I was like 60wpm qwerty with like 5 random fingers and in 2 weeks I hit 60wpm dvorak 10 fingers. Plus there are tons of ressources to do just that. To just go from x fingers to 9 fingers you don't need more than a week to get to speed without changing layout.
PS: I am now around 115wpm on a 1min test
WhatPulse should cover your needs. It tracks keys, clicks, mouse motion, uptime, download, and upload, and if you open the Settings menu, then go to the Input tab, the free version will show you a heatmap of keyboard usage, and you can export to CSV. Premium version has extra features, but I'm not sure what they are, as I've never used it :)
Damn no wide agreement. One would think there would be more info out there. I ask because Im going to lead a group buy for the revival of the nyan cat keypads. You can see the assets here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sp760zti9s4s15r/F5FXBeO05C
Currently trying to gauge interest.
Might be your keyboard's "pressing" the menu key, if it's got one. It's normally to the left of the right-hand Ctrl key, and it usually brings up the right-click menu for whatever you're focused on.
If you're on Windows you could test it with AutoHotkey - redefine the menu key with a script like
AppsKey::Msgbox, The keyboard sent a menu keypress
This won't be triggered by a mouse right-click, only by the Menu key on the keyboard.

you could look at this it’s got arrow keys, fits the gray and white theme and it’s got gateron optical browns.
You're welcome. if you want to replace keycaps, it will be a little hard since it doesn't have standard bottom row and a standard right shift. Make sure your keycap set has a 1u alt, fn, and ctrl and a 1.75u right shift. Here is a BoW set that fits https://www.amazon.com/Mistel-Doubleshot-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switches/dp/B08FX9HBMB/ref=sr\_1\_20?dchild=1&keywords=keycaps&qid=1625093843&sr=8-20&th=1
I would choose this one from amazon. You can also swap out switches and keycaps if you want to. It also has AMAZING stabilizers, no need to replace. https://www.amazon.com/FL-ESPORTS-Wireless-Mechanical-Bluetooth/dp/B08ZYMMQBP
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ty-Beanie-Baby-Buff-Husky/dp/B01GVGIX32 here is amazon link, i spent 15 mins reverse searching for the plushie, so i will just give uk amazon link to you, so you don't need to spend the same amount of time just trying to figure out what the plushie is called.
You likely can't remove the keycaps. If you try, you'll probably break your keyboard. If this is a concern, look at a mechanical keyboard for your next one.
First thing you should do is unplug the keyboard don't power it up anymore. More damage will be done, (by the redbull).
Then this 10 dollars keyboard is the cheapest I can find on amazon.
cheapest mechanical keyboard is a red dragon brand rgb cherry red clone. for $26
Pandas are fine, and whatever is "good for gaming" is up to personal preference. If you're not sure what kind of switches you like, you should instead get a key switch tester, and find out if you prefer linears over tactile or clicky switches.
Why don't you try them first? here's a super simple switch tester. Clickys are loud and you very noticably feel it when it registers; reds are linears, so they go straight down. Tactiles are in between, they don't have a super loud click, but you should feel it when you push. It really does go down the rabbit hole from there... But there are several manufacturers that create these three types and they branch out into dozens and dozens of diff switches.
Yeah, its pretty good, however if u can spend that amount, go ahead! But here's an alternative for less: https://www.amazon.com/Keychron-Mechanical-Keyboard-Tenkeyless-Bluetooth/dp/B08B5WBS2T/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=keychron+k8&qid=1606949249&sprefix=keychron+&sr=8-3
Hey man. The keyboard's name is Deathstalker. "Chroma" is the name of the RGB Razer's hardware.
From what i guess you're from the USA, so here's the link from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathStalker-Chroma-Multi-Color-Membrane/dp/B00ZTRW020
Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr-gYPbUJ4c
Anyway... two things: first of all i'd seriously suggest you to consider aswell the MX black keys, you might find what you want and get a superior device. And don't mind buyng razer products: i agree they are mostly overpriced (like any other brand tho, since all this stuff costs the same) but since 2013 they are actually good products.
Once you are in any single color mode (solid or breathing), use Fn - and Fn + (under the F9 and F10 keys) to cycle colors. Note that inconsistently, this is NOT the FN left-arrow (FN f-) and FN right-arrow (FN f+) keys that work for other modes. Colors available are: red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, white.
Due to the way the LED colors are implemeted, the brighter colors that are not red, green, blue will have chromatic effect if you shift your gaze while looking at them. This is most likely because PWM and combining RGB LEDs to generate these colors. This is most apparent with white.
I love this keyboard, don't think you can beat it for the price. Note also that Amazon also sells a very similar keyboard that has fixed rainbow colors based on key rows for slightly cheaper. Don't buy that one if you want selectable RGB colors.
In keeping with DREVO, they have the BladeMaster TE that's out now. It's a great board according to reviews. I was a backer on KickStarter for it, and am awaiting my PRO version, so I can't give a first hand account for it.
They use GATERON switches on the TE version, but from what I am reading and seeing on YouTube, they feel like Cherry switches.

If has full RGB under the keys, as well as an accent bar that wraps around the whole board.
Here's the board on Amazon with the blue switches:
https://www.amazon.com/BladeMaster-Gaming-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switch/dp/B07H7H3ZRJ?th=1

Though it does not come in white (yet), the keys can always be swapped out for white caps. If he has a white board now that has MX-style switches, he might be able to just swap the caps over (as long as they have the same profile).

Happy hunting!
Try to find a Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S RGB. solid board with cherry MX switches and in your price range.
I just found one it is a Corsair one that is wireless and it has quiet switches and is full sized
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086RFJLJC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_h1JFFbBQ6XFMS Although they aren’t on the link I sent RIGHT NOW, they go back up in stock every so often. Bought the exact set a few months back from the same link
You can game on any keyboard, most people refer to mechanical keyboards as “gaming” but you don’t need one of those to game, the input latency is what people would look for but unless you game on a professional and competitive level the keyboard you use will not make a difference, you can however use extra keys on a keyboard for macros and other uses this is mostly done for MMOs not really needed for FPS, I don’t know what type of games you play though. I’ll add one that’s a sold choice and has been reviewed on youtube. techware phantom 87
mechanical keyboards are generally lots better than rubber domes unless your buying topre shit then have fun spending 300$ also on the main point I haven’t found much that matches but the closest is this https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K585-One-Handed-Mechanical-Professional/dp/B07NBJVH4G/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=gaming+keyboard&qid=1595134624&sr=8-16
If you want a laptop style keyboard then there are many desktop boards literally made from laptop layouts. The % of layouts isn't the actual size of the keys, it's the percent of the number of keys compared to a regular 104/105 layout.
I recently bought this. It is my first mechanical keyboard which I plan to use mainly for gaming and annoying my family with the clicky noise. So far no complaints. It’s not RGB and you can control the lights to your preference. Works well, looks really nice, will go well with the Mac if you get the white colorway.
looking for low profile keyboards i have an apple keyboard clone as my main keyboard.
This Keyboard looks similar to mine
I wanted a wireless scissor kb to use with my phone or laptop, came across this one on Amazon UK.
For the price (£16) it seems fine so far, sculpted key caps look a little like the MX Keys ones. Key feel different to my Cherry Stream (shorter travel).
I see. These seem to be well-reviewed, though I'm curious how well the hinges hold up over time.
It looks very similar to a royal kludge rk61 with a few custom caps for the letters. This company probably sources their keayboards from the same factory.
The cleaning kit I was going to get is a cheap one with a brush and microfiber cloth, I also have air cans that I could use as well. I was looking in to the gmmk pro but it wouldn't fit my budget, even buying it barebones. The coiled cable is from amazon from a brand called Asceny, heres a link. Thanks for the feedback!
Something like this is what you should solder with. Use rosin core electronic solder, and try to put the solder into the joint as you are soldering. You should be able to do this quickly, and keep the board from heating up. It's pretty hard to destroy a board like that if you have a decent soldering station. At least you have something to practice on now.
Royal Kludge and Epomaker are popular choices. Given they are smaller formfactors however you can assign function keys easily. Hotswappable, so you can simply replace broken switches. You can change out keycaps if you wish and shut off the RGB if you're not a fan.
Input lag is not a thing with any wired keyboard, mechanical or not. If something has a really crappy bluetooth connection, it can start to become an issue...but you don't need to worry about it for a wired or 2.4GHz-wireless board.
I'd get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/NextTime-Mechanical-Keyboard-Swappable-Transparent/dp/B09VFHXC8X
The Apex 5 is available for £99 and it looks similar. The keycaps are bigger so it won't be as easy to clean between them as with the Vulcan 120 but the switches are above the plate so dirt won't be able to get below it.
However I want a quiet keyboard so I need one with the red switches and the Apex 5 has blue clicky ones. The Apex 7 has red switches and is £119 but I'm thinking of getting a tenkeyless keyboard as I find it quite uncomfortable and difficult to type accurately having the mouse so far to the right but despite having less keys and materials the Apex 7 TKL is £159. I'll probably need to get a separate numpad as some games that I play need it, and it'll cost me about £185 to get the Apex 7 TKL plus the numpad, which is too much for me to spend on a keyboard.
The Razer Blackwidow v3 TKL looks like it has the switches above the plate, albeit with large keycaps which don't leave as much space between or below them, and it's available for £80 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08H5LW86P/
It has yellow switches which are supposedly quiet but I don't know how they compare to red switches. Are yellow switches actually quiet or do they have a bit of a click to them?
Redragon fizz doesn't have arrow keys unless you use the fn key.
If you want seperate arrow keys you need to get a 65%, maybe the rk68.
I have a redragon k630 and it is a good budget board, my only real complaint is that the hotswap is very limited to 3 pin switches. Apart from that, it works well.
The rk68 basic (hotswap but only blue RGB) is going for 20% off on Amazon at the moment
https://www.amazon.com/RK-ROYAL-KLUDGE-Stand-Alone-Hot-Swappable/dp/B08G52MB1J?th=1
I have a rk7 and it is also a good board (I prefer it to my k630).
FYI there's a layout called an 1800, which is like a condensed 100%. Something like the RK96 might fit your needs. It still has a numpad, but it's nearly as compact as a TKL. Let me know if you want more info.
Best that I have found is the Kensington. https://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Slim-Wireless-Keyboard-K72344US/dp/B00426HI8U?th=1
I have tried a bunch of ones so far and really havent found a great option.
These ones? Reckon the smoothness is similar? Gaterom Milky Yellow Pro
For gaming, consider something with linear switches. A popular linear switch is the gateron yellow. Linear switches are smooth, quick and quiet.
I am considering picking up a Klim Shift (it's a 65% which means you also get arrow keys) and then swopping out their switches for gaterons, this should come to around $60 if you are interested:
Alternatively, something like an RK61 with red switches is good as well or a SK61 if you can find it on special.
There are lots, the switch is what makes it tactile btw.
Here is a cheap one with brown tactile switches (brown switches are standard 'budget' switches). Get a board that is hotswap so you can upgrade the switches if you want:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JC79J53/ref=ox_sc_act_title_11?smid=A1Y2HVFT1GWBYK&th=1
There's a dirt cheap Redragon Horus that's 200% stealing everything from the Logitech g915. It has bluetooth (up to 3 devices) a 2.4ghz dongle or just plain usb-c.
The software is terrible and the manuals do a piss poor job of explaining the shortcuts. But it's surprisingly decent for the price. Which is... dirt cheap.
I work from home, but I still go to the office every now and then, and that's the one I take with me to the office. Because it's mechanical, wireless, low profile and SUPER QUIET (mine has red switches. But it's hot-swappable) so people in the office won't hate me.
This is the full version I have the TKL version.
I'm not positive, but I don't think all components have PCB's that are rewrite friendly or that store data on the component side.
If you want to play it safe, look for a VIA or QMK compatible or at least that lists it's reprogrammable and stores configurations.
Epomaker makes this one that fits the bill and is available on amazon.
Apple uses 'scissor switches' in their laptops and Magic keyboards. These would be the most similar IMO.
Satechi X3 - $80
Logitech MX keys - $120 I hate Logitech keyboards, but this is a good one (if you want the scissor switches) and have not had any problems after 1 yr of use.
Check out:
https://www.amazon.com/KLIM-Wireless-Mechanical-Keyboard-Bluetooth/dp/B09JC79J53
It comes with 2 sets of switches as well which is pretty neat.
Jesus, please don't. If you want an even cheaper alternative and a 100% keyboard buy the Redragon K582 with Outemu Red switches for 40$, don't buy a Keyboard with off-brand switches. Plus, Redragon is a good and respectable brand for the price with good quality whereas Aukey doesn't even know what market their products belong to and sells knock-off switches. Also, Redragon offers a good software for custom backlight, Aukey doesn't.
RK61 and RK68 are both $50 USD with red or brown switches on Amazon right now. Battery life looks kind of low though. Other than that, nothing really comes to my mind.
Honestly Logitech and the other mainstream 'gaming' companies make crap keyboards. They advertise features that are pretty standard on most keyboards now. If they have the features you want for your budget then go ahead though. You might be able to find a used Razer Huntmans mini, I hear those are pretty decent though.
If you live somewhere that does Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals then it might be best to wait until those sales start.
Here you go :)
Granvela OEM light purple keycap set. This will also fit.
Kooku OEM purple keycap set. Suitable for 60% keyboards. I have no idea of their quality though
hmm that's a rare numpad layout, the easy solution you can just get programmable numpad like this, if you still want mecha with that layout, maybe you out of luck, because most mechanical keyboard will follow standard size and layout
Yes switches can be bought separately. I have never seen this layout before so you probably don't have many options if that is a requirement.
It's completely up to you. If you are willing and able to take hours to disassemble a keyboard, de solder the switches, and solder new ones in, then yes it's technically possible. You're probably better off buying a 75% keyboard that is hot swapable, buy silent switches, and a 20 key macropad like this. This may require buying some extra keycaps for the arrow and number keys.
Why this layout?
i know this one might be bad one but at least it has what I need, small and instead of the Pgdown and PgUp it has the Numeric Keys
this one is how I need it, but instead of the PgDown and PgUp and all that crap, I need the numeric key above the arrows
https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-K70-RGB-TKL-Key/dp/B08W2DY46Q?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp&th=1&psc=1
Carbon Black and change out the keycaps. Pudding keycaps for your RGB is a decent choice that wont break the bank.
So mechanical keyboards while are a little more expensive than membranes, typically are much more durable and you can safely remove the keycaps to clean it without worry of damaging the keys. There are loads and loads to choose from even custom ones.
I’ve had experience with this specific keyboard and its a great keyboard. Comfortable, looks cool, volume control on the keyboard, usb pass thru and a small screen you can choose an 8bit gif to put in for coolness. Cheers!
New stabilizer. Probably a plate mounted style, but disassemble it to make sure. 6.25U size. Durock V2 is a solid choice.
I don't know what those cost for you or where you're located, but the Klim Shift is quite cheap and is very good. It has a removable aluminum shroud and has full 5-pin hot swappability. It's also still wireless with bluetooth. If you don't like the stock Jixian switches, you can also purchase some really nice Akko switches to replace it for about $20 and with minimal effort. The Klim Shift is a rebranded CIY x79.
A plastic cover that lays on top of the keyboard. You can get them for laptops to customize their appearance and keep the keys clean. I was curious if there were any like this that included a backlight to illuminate the keys.
This is an example of what I’m referring to: https://www.amazon.ca/Chromebook-Keyboard-CB3-131-CB5-132T-CB5-312T/dp/B07632PR2C
You can always get a separate macro pad. Here is one on Amazon for $35USD that ships from them so it's covered by their return policy.
I ended up with a KiwiKeebs Macroboard V2 from another user on r/mechmarket
I have a pink GK61s that I opened but never used. I was planning on painting and modding it but I haven't even looked at it in months and have 2 custom keyboards to build before I even touch the GK61s.
It has hot swappable sockets with Gateron Blue switches, wired version, RGB.
Amazon lists it for $60 BNIB. I was going to list it for $50 shipped and paypaled next month.
Here is a link to the Amazon page. Pink is unavailable but you can see what it looks like. PM me if interested.
Ah most of those (apart from this one which I don't think is available for the UK...) are Mac only and/or wireless.
I did however find this one which doesn't look like it has concave keys, but it does say "110 flat, concave keys": https://www.amazon.co.uk/BTWKEYMB-UK-extended-Quick-Switch-Bluetooth-aluminium/dp/B08DRBMF5G
Didn't know 'flat' and 'concave' could exist in the same sentence...
in terms of recommended cases I recommend the Keychron one! I've seen some good cases on really cheap keyboards but with 96% being a weird count the Keychron is probably best. I know for sure it's not a hotswap motherboard but I'll leave that to you, I did a bit more research, the previous one is also not hotswappable.
96% is a bit of a weird one, you could technically 3d print a whole keyboard body, I have one that is because it's a modifyed candybar layout
I don't think it's flipped: found video after searching this image on google: https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-1008730061-engineer-working-3d-graphics-computer-evening-night
Logitech MK295, if wireless is an option. I have the same issue with keyboards. Despise any and all noise from others or my own (esp others). This isn't fancy but it works great and really is silent. Feels good too (I have no need to feel "clicks". I wouldn't like clicky even if it were somehow silent).
I recently bought a Royal Kludge RK100 (RGB backlit) that fits your criteria. Another option from them is the RK96 (blue LED backlit). I like everything about the RK100 except the keyboard layout causes me problems when I'm trying to use function keys, arrow keys, or number pad. I'm more accustomed to either a full 104- or 108-key layout or an apple macbook keyboard...so I kept missing keys when I went outside the main set.
https://www.amazon.com/RK-ROYAL-KLUDGE-Mechanical-Connectable/dp/B08K8YRD9Y
You can also look into a Glorious GMMK keyboard. I haven't tried them personally, but they came up in my search and, besides wireless, they also fit in your price range and layout.

Hi! Sorry to bother you again, but the seller answered me with a link to where they bought the keyboard. Apparently, it’s a mechanical red switch. They seem to have a cross pattern, which is the one I’ve seen the most, but not sure if these are the MX Cherry derived switches or not. Here’s the listing
The seller will ship out the keyboard tomorrow, so, when it arrives, I can take a better look
It requires a USB receiver that should be in the back compartment; I'd consider returning this if you can as I don't think it will be useful without it.
Get gummy o rings. The mech keyboard community hates these but they also don’t like blues so, do what you want :). These will at least make your keyboard a bit quieter and give it less harsh of a sound, though it’ll ALSO reduce the distance your keys will travel, which may or may not be a deal breaker for you.
this logitech one is quite nice, it is low profile, tkl, mechanical, has Bluetooth, 2.4ghz and wired, quite as long as you don't get clicky variant of the switches, switch options are tactile(best for typing and ok for gaming), linear(best for gaming and alright for typing) and click(tactile with a click when you click it, people can find it very annoying)
this is a hard shell travel case to protect it while you travel and to prevent accidental keypress while in a bag

and its one of those fn+ something keyboards to change lighting... tahts why im asking
The cable you picked seems like it will work fine, but for the same cost before the coupon...
I think this one has a 20% coupon on the page as well.

u/Sagtil Hey mate and so sorry, I completely forgot about this thread. In the meantime I've decided to not purchase a new keyboard because this one (Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate) is such a pleasure to type on. But, since these are blank keycaps I never fully get used to them, so I'm thinking about changing just the keycaps. Can you give me a suggestion which to try? These are Cherry MX brown switched and current Cherry keycaps and those are perfect for typing from my point of view. These seem perfect in the color and they're also with side print, but could you suggest something similar? Side print is not that important, but the color combination is just perfect.
Thanks in advance mate.
Cherry Stream has scissor switches like a laptop kb, media keys and three extra (browser, email, calc) which you could remap. $28.95 on Amazon
Crossposting from /r/budgetkeebs since I think this board may like...
For real... iLovbee i61 was 20ish, now is 25ish... still stupid cheap given the board has shockingly good stabs, decent reds, AND foam between plate/PCB to reduce ping.
All I did above was get a set of Akko Lavender Purple, STOCK, and swapped in in after putting a bit more foam in the underside and tape. So this was a 15-20 minute setup... for what... 40$?
The only con I will say for this is just that if you use a lot of combo shortcuts like WIN+Arrows and Alt+F4 you will get annoyed to have to either use the FN toggle or just not use them. If you type casually and rarely use those combos... this will be fine.
But even then... for experimenting with switches and possibly using to display some key caps... this is so cheap it's worth trying. IF this stays at the 20-30$ price range.
Probably shouldn't post too many places case I want a second one, but eh... No reason to not share.

Thanks for the suggestion but [assuming you're talking about this one](https://www.amazon.com/Cherry-Kc-6000-Slim-Keyboard/dp/B07D1XWPLM) that has chicklet-style keys with gaps between the keys :/
