Note that this is standard Albanian which should be the way to go so you can understand every Albanian person from either Albania proper, NM, Kosovo or Montenegro. Learning the Kosovo Gheg dialect is almost near impossible if you didn’t get taught it growing up, which is why I don’t recommend even bothering with it. Just learn standard.
You weren’t and I’m glad you didn’t pick up any, but every serb friend of mine 16 and older was loaded bro. Fifth day of bombings I went to check on my bro if he was ok, at the entrance (poznati ulaz zgrade) Boki and Celo, 16 and 18, both had their AKs on hand and were taunting every albanian on sight. This was in Gjilan bro, where things were somewhat calmer. Don’t know where you’re from in Kosovo but I’m pretty sure you saw your peers armed. Anyway, stay away from guns, you’ll shoot your eye out. Come visit Kosovo 🇽🇰 ✌️
Pse mundohi me përpilu lista të kota? Pse mundohi me e shpikë rrotën prej së pari? Here's the RWGPS route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33742408
Getting out of Pristina took a little bit of time and forethought but in the end it wasn't a big deal. I came in through Jarinje, Kos. Mitrovica, and Vucitrn by car and then about a week later got on my bike. The road from Jarinje to KM looked nice but I decided to avoid taking the same route back as it seemed busier and people seemed to be driving too fast.
Riding north of the Ibar river from KM and besides Gazivode was the highlight of the trip due to the small and quiet rural roads and the view, of course, but the descent into Novi Pazar was also great - I managed to hold 45-55km/h for quite a while.
Cycling through Kosovo, I was a little bit apprehensive, but in the end basically no one said or asked me anything apart from the guy working at the border crossing at Gazivode who was positively surprised that I was going north by bike all the way from Pristina.
I always find it interesting talking to people along the way, especially the ones living more traditional lifestyles in remote areas or villages, but was sort of in a rush and there wasn't anyone along the way who seemed interested to talk.
Is anyone here into cycling longer distances or touring? I came across the "bike friendly cafe" in Pristina while browsing online, so it seems there is a cycling scene there, but haven't yet visited. Will probably check it out next time I'm in town.
I disagree with the comment. Even if it's 100% like Tinder that's irrelevant. Every restaurant has nearly the identical business model (as other business types) and if it works it works. The problem is with the amount of marketing it made it should be quite an awesome app, but as I can see from the reviews it has quite some problems. On the other hand I think they wanted to do a mix of Tinder and Linkedin, besides the dating part making connections with workers and businesses. I don't know how they think they can achieve that.
If they are successful great for them, if not, good for trying.
In 1933, he was killed by Ibrahim Celo (or rather Sela or Selo) in a cafe in Thessalonika, on the orders of the Yugoslav government. There are rumors that Zog was involved in his murder.
Interestingly, the killer, Ibraim Sela, has been cared for over the years by Slavic structures to hide his descendants, for who there is not much information in Macedonia, where he comes from.
Hasan Prishtina was buried in Kukës near the border of Kosovo..
Prishtina Bus Stops (Play Store)
This is a good app to have, you can just go to your destination, and start checking which buses go through there, or close to it.
