Mangazuki.me and Toonily (both found in Madara extension), Webtoons. Also read this: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions.
And as BabyGinaBottle said, MR used names different from the official ones, so searching by the romaji name should yield better results.
Tachiyomi J2K fork is my favorite right now. I use kissmanga and mangakakalot as my extension/sources.
I had a mistake of having all eggs in one basket (mangarock) , but all of the titles I'm following are 95% available and updated in kissmanga. As for the other 5% I take from mangakakalot, and sometimes mangakakalot has further chapters/extras.
I use j2k, which has a ez source migration, but it doesnt a manga rec algorithm. I never tried Sy but they have an rec algorithm that pulls recommendations from mal.
There are other forks that specializes in the *wink wink* stuff.
https://tachiyomi.org/forks/
Seems like people are still searching for alternatives (well also me)
josephgomes619 from the discussion recommends: - Android: https://tachiyomi.org (also with the forks like TachiyomiSY) - iOS: https://paperback.moe
Thanks, josephgomes619.
Main app is getting a full rewrite, so 0.9.x isn't getting any new features. Those who want new features can try out forks, the main website has a section specifically for forks.
Main app will be available on Desktop at least, after rewrite. The creator has expressed interested in making desktop client.
What makes you think Tachi doesn't accept feature requests based on user feedback? All the new features were requested on Github, you are simply not familiar with the ecosystem.
Mangadex search is not broken. You have to log into mangadex in webview for search to work. Read this: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/#mangadex
Also try reading the entire faq and guide while you are there.
Here's a list of recommended sources: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions.
There is no one ultimate source otherwise all others just wouldn't exist. And I would also suggest splitting your library between at least 3-5 sources. That way, if some source has problems, the other part of your library will be fine.
Well I just searches for a bit in android and found the link to manga reader on the play store. Although I’m not sure if it works the exact same as it does on iPhone, since I’ve yet to try it, but you should try it out and see if you like it. 😁
I don't know which best manga app can survey long time. If it's dead, I will lost a lot my favorite manga that I already marked on app. Now, I am using Manga App on android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manga.mangaapp The design is friendly, simple, easy and FREE :D
If you don't want to pay (it's worth it) then:
You could use a private DNS to block ads (almost) everywhere on your phone. (I am not sure if it works on Mangarock 'cause I have premium)
Also, not every phone can do this
EDIT: how-to
EDIT: If you don't have Android 9 (Pie) then you could try something like this. I didn't test it so it might not work though..
EDIT: You could also try to use a browser with Adblock (like Brave or Firefox on mobile) and use the Mangarock website.
I would strongly reccomend downloading Tachiyomi. It is an APK file (so you have to enable apk downlaods) but it is very safe, 0 ads and lots of sources for all the manga you will ever need. You can enable tsukkomis in the reader itself and is honestly the best app for reading manga on android or PC.
Download link is here https://tachiyomi.org/download/
I would reccomend Mangakakalot or mangareader.cc as extentions to browse for manga.
Yes there is it's : Tachiyomi Download it ; open it and download extensions like : mangakakalot and neatmanga ... etc Hope I helped you and sorry for my bad English I'm trying to improve it
here the link to download apk file Tachiyomi or Tachiyomi SY
for how to use it, it quite simple, you need to go into the app and click browse, and you will notice 3 tabs on top, source, extensions, and migrate, for the first time go to extension and install one of the installations, preferably on mangadex and mangabox (because majority manga on that website), you can try experiment another source if you like
tl:dr just download the app, open and install one of manga source, and you can read it
sorry if my bad english confuse you, but i hope it help

(and quick note for those 2 app. if you like mangarock where you get reccomendation what manga to read next try Tachiyomi SY, if you wanna try like what tachiyomi is try the original one, well basically if tachiyomi is vannila game, then tachiyomi sy is modded vannila game, you can try to instal both of them if you want to, and about migrating your mangarock library to mangadex, i suggest you browse this subreddit )
For real? Even A10s runs tachiyomi like butter. Try switching to a different edition like tachiyomi j2k
But just a question, do you have lots of downloaded comics through tachiyomi? Having many downloads freezes the app for 12 seconds after opening any comic then after that it opens any comics without delay
@betamalecuckold i have no luck too, try the nyaa.si torrent site, its not complete but better than nothing
nows that mangarock is down, you can read at manga park till the latest manga rock have updates
but cant find any futher
>Far superior until the app gets shut down like manga rock.
Who the fuck download from manga rock ?
>Tell me if there was no tachiyomi. How would you survive ?
I will survive because i never used tachiyomi as a downloading tool
Also everything you said seems to be a "you" problem
You are limiting yourself to mobile and asking me how will i survive without a specific app ?
I think u need to ask that question to yourself not me because i never used my mobile to download stuff let alone to rely on it
You might want to try out TachiyomiSY it has a similar mangas feature. Also if you can't find certain manga then just download more extensions and look in more sources, that's the best way to find manga, just have a ton of sources installed (in moderation of course). If you don't like the source just migrate to another one.
Disclaimer: Tachiyomi is not hosting any content. We are not affiliated with nor responsible for any source that is down, slow, missing chapters or subpar image quality.
I've been using Tachiyomi. Though I've seen TachiyomiSY also recommended. Seems to have additional features like recommendation. There's a few other forks of the base Tachiyomi around that you can try too.
Go to the website(https://tachiyomi.org) and tap download. Or download directly from the github (https://github.com/inorichi/tachiyomi/releases). Just scroll down a bit, expand Assets and download APK.
Better have actual useful features than gimmicky flavour
You couldn't download more than 3 manga in Manga rock, remember? Nor you could have categories, or track manga. MAL was a decorate toy, pretty to look at but empty inside. Don't forget the ads and monthly subscription.
Use the Tachiyomi website if you need help. It has no ads (or virus) unlike Manga Rock
ReadManhua, Kissmanga.in and Mangakakalots Unofficial
EDIT: I also encourage you to use TachiyomiSY if you aren't already, it's great with excellent Manga recommendations!
You can checkout the features here: https://tachiyomi.org/forks/TachiyomiSY/
The preview also has extra features, namely manga info edit, and manga page updates, plus quite a lot of other stuff
Don't think so. I would suggest checking out forks of Tachiyomi, they are quite different from the main app: https://tachiyomi.org/forks/. If you need more info, visit r/Tachiyomi.
Here it the link to all the forks.
Anyway what do you mean by back ups? Tachiyomi's back ups would work on any fork. Just have the back up file transfered to your new phone... As for manga rock, I'm not sure about the process of transferring back ups since I haven't tried it (I did it manually). There are guides tho... Just go to r/tachiyomi or join the discord and ask
Nope, all forks take features from each other, so the more forks the merrier. Everybody wins.
Also it's a free app so devs don't care which version is more popular. It's not like they get paid anyway
Visit https://tachiyomi.org/forks/ page for more info
MangaDex, Mangasee and Mangabox sources are slow since a lot of people started using them because of covid and a ton of MR users migrating. For the time being, I suggest using MangaPark, MangaLife, MangaFreak and Mangahub or better - scanlator sources if you want to put a bit more effort into managing them. You can also check https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/#what-are-some-recommended-extensions for more info.
Also, r/Tachiyomi is a better place for such questions.
They are forks, copies of the main app that new features, bug fixes, UI changes, etc., supported by different devs. You can learn more about them here: https://tachiyomi.org/forks/.
All Tachiyomi versions/forks have migration except for Neko (because it's for MangaDex only). What J2K, AZ and Sy have is auto migration which allows you to migrate all manga from one source to others while Stable and Preview allow migrating only one manga at a time.
You can learn more about them here: https://tachiyomi.org/forks/ or in the respective github repos.
MangaPark, MangaLife, MangaFreak are among the faster ones right now. And you can check out https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/#what-are-some-recommended-extensions.
For MangaPark scroll down to its section.
Also, r/Tachiyomi is a better place for such questions.
Sigh... Here we go again. Read this. https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/#what-are-some-recommended-extensions.
I just want to know out of curiosity, have you visited r/Tachiyomi subreddit, website or discord?
You do realize MR is the only site that had mostly weird English names, right? Almost every other sites use Romaji. Your complaints are the classic ones of not being able to use Tachi properly due to lack of knowledge on it. It's not possible to teach you everything, since you lack the will to explore. Thus I suggest you read up on guides and FAQ.
As for Lezhin, MR didn't have 10% of the Lezhin stuff Toonily has. I am not sure if you're familiar with Toonily or Lezhin much, appears you aren't.
I would accept the entertainment part had they not block download slots behind paywall. To each their own I suppose.
Migrating to other sources are super easy, and it carries over your reading progress as well. Tachiyomi has built in migration feature.
https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/source-migration/
The forks even have Auto migration which lets you migrate all manga from any source to another source.
Explore the app more, Tachiyomi has more stuff than you realize :)
It does thought, TachiyomiSy fork has recommendations.

Download the latest APK and you're good to go.

If you can't find something, just google the name, find a site that has it and install the extension (refer to the spreadsheet for multi-source extensions).
Neither is Mangazone. You have to Google it. I don't know if you have heard of apks, you need to download and install them. Not all apps are available on Play Store.
Here's the website.
https://tachiyomi.org/forks/TachiyomiJ2K/
After you install the app, install an extension like Mangapark or Mangahere, then start reading. No ads, unlimited sources, everything free.
You can also make categories to sort your library, if you wish.
Read this: https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/getting-started/. Video guides are not up-to-date in terms of UI, but written ones are.
Also, r/Tachiyomi.
This is the list of some decent ones: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/#what-are-some-recommended-extensions.
Also, r/Tachiyomi.
Use Dev version(Weekly preview) or wait for the new J2K release. For recommendations, you can use Neko (https://tachiyomi.org/forks/) (Settings > Similar manga to enable).
Also, you can just go to the category, filter tags/genres/etc. (double tap to filter out) and sort by Update date.
Did you login to the MangaDex via webview (https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#mangadex)?
Also, the Tachiyomi subreddit has support thread and discord.
You might need to log in via webview. Example for MangaDex: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#no-results-when-searching.
It doesn't have dark mode ? Lamo XD I guess you have downloaded the wrong one. And sure you have to set it up yourself ( which is easy ) and has the most available extension you could possibly ask for. And it's kinda plain but the app is made for reading manga in mind. So it really does a good job in that. You could read the same manga from multiple sources which is a real blessing and I guess manga rock doesn't had that feature. And the inconsistencies are from I guess your network or your phone. And if you still think tachiyomi is not better download the *forks
Forks - are apps that are developed by other dev with more features than the OG app like neko fork - a tachiyomi app made dedicated only of mangadex.
J2K - this is J2K fork beta version and it works fine ;)
Here's a list of recommended sources based what you want: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions.
Please refrain from installing all extensions. Read the app's FAQs.
https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions
Here's a list of recommended extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. And a tip for the future: you can hide sources by tapping on the triple lines in the top right corner.
Yeah, Kissmanga is IP banning adblock and Tachi users, because they don't get to obliterate us with ads.
First things first, the English manga reading extensions you'll mostly need are MangaBox, MangaSee, MangaDex and maybe MangaPark as stated here on Tachi's FAQ, which answers your question as to what are some good extensions.
Here's a list of recommended sources: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. Almost all of my library is from those sources.
https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/getting-started/#installation
This should help you know how to install extension and then how to search those extensions for the manga you want to add them to your library.
https://youtu.be/k1s2V6Qx_ek this YouTube video should also help
Here's a list of recommended extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. Almost all of my library comes from those sources.
Webtoons, Toonily (Madara extension), Mangazuki.me (Madara extension).
Here's a list of recommended sources: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions.
Here's a list of recommended ones: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. They cover like 95% of my library.
MangaDex along with scanlator sources have the fastest updates and all aggregator sites like Mangakakalot get manga from them.
Here's a list of recommended ones: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. Got about 95% of my library on those sources.
Generally, more features and a bit (a LOT in the beta) different UI. The most notable features are auto-migration for bulk source migration and more Android 10 support. Here's the list: https://tachiyomi.org/forks/TachiyomiJ2K/. Some of them were also implemented in the dev version of the main branch though. You can just download&install them alongside each other and try it out.
Here's a list of recommended extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions.
And what do you mean by "separating the chapters"?
Umm, it should load in about a second or two depending on your internet speed. Does it do this with all sources or some specific ones? Here's a list of recommended ones: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. You should also check whether images are loaded faster when viewing manga through webview. And some sources are under heavy load because of the influx of users reading due to the pandemic so there's that too.
Well, here's the list of recommended extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. Almost all of my library is from those sources.
Not loading in the sense that you can't install them? In that case, you can download and install it directly from here: https://tachiyomi.org/extensions/.
Or not loading manga?
Oh, well, in this case, you can still download images from twitter and add them as local manga (https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/reading-local-manga/). Optionally, you can back up it to Google Drive, so you won't lose it.
Mangadex and scanlator sources such as Genkan, Madara, FoolSlide and ComiCake as well as Webtoons.com for webtoons have the fastest updates. Even faster than MR, because the sources I mentioned were the places MR took manga from in the first place. More info on extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions.
Well, if you are looking for high quality, you should try Mangasee - they use official translations and Genkan, Madara, FoolSlide, ComiCake - there are a bunch of sources for websites of actual scanlators as well as Webtoons.com for webtoons. There is also a list of recommended extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. And, well, MR didn't scanlate manga themselves, they got it somewhere else, usually from scanlators websites or from MD where most of them mirror their translations, so if the quality of scanlations is bad, it will be bad on all aggregator websites.
Edit: fixed scanlators extensions.
Check out https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. I have most of them and I've yet to see something that's not there (unless another site has it under the different name which is a whole another story). I just went to the mangatoon website and searched in Tachiyomi a dozen random titles from the mangatoon front page - at least one (but usually multiple) sources had it.
Usually, that means that you need to solve the captcha, confirm age, log in (in the case of MangaDex) etc. You need to open some manga in the catalogue and on the info tab open it in the webview. Here is an example for MangaDex: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#no-results-when-searching.
Well, when MR extension was still working you could just download chapters from MR and move them to the local library, but it no longer works. The thing is: MR uses SQLite database to store images and theoretically you CAN extract them but that whole thing is such a mess that I don't think someone will dig through it to try to decode pages.
If you can find pages somewhere (like on torrent trackers or some other scanlation site or some kind Reddit user who downloaded it beforehand will be willing to share) you can put them on your phone and browse local manga from tachiyomi (https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/reading-local-manga/).
Hey, there is a bit more info on extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions. Also, as for recommendations, I just go to the MangaDex catalogue, filter genres, formats etc. I want or don't want and sort by latest updated. Works fine for me.
What extensions were you using? Here is a list of recommended extensions: https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions. Those were able to cover my whole library and if there is something I cannot find, I just google it, look at the site and install an extension, though this happened just a couple of times with me.
Open mangadex catalogue, open some manga, on the info tab click triple dots in the top right corner, click open in the WebView (more info and a video example on https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#mangadex).
Mangadex doesn't allow users that are not logged in to perform a search to protect itself from DDoS. Open mangadex catalogue, open some manga, on the info tab click triple dots in the top right corner, click open in the WebView (https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#mangadex).
Open mangadex catalogue, open some manga, on the info tab click triple dots in the top right corner, click open in the WebView(https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#mangadex). This is done in order to be able to search on mangadex since mangadex only allows search for registered users to protect from DDoS.
Mangakakalot (in Mangabox extension), Mangasee, Mangadex, Mangapark, Kissmanga, Mangahere, Mangahasu...there are lots of options
Read this - https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions
Here's a list of popular extensions, for your future reference
https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions
And some recommended settings for Tachiyomi
Go to Catalogues and then Browse after you download extensions.
All 3 sources have their own strengths and weaknesses. Tachiyomi is not like MangaRock, you can use as many sources as you want (I use 12 sources all are very different from each other).
Here are what's special about some of the popular sources- https://tachiyomi.org/help/faq/extensions/#what-are-some-good-extensions
Taciyomi is still better
The difference is download your own extensions.
Go to the extension tab and download them. For which extension to use.
That is indeed fake. You can count how many sources are in Tachi from the 2 links below
https://tachiyomi.org/extensions/
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TyJEUg78WWH4zgnf3g6M2lkbWpBWbd40FYiPVQhW8IU/htmlview#gid=0
Should be around 320 I think
Unfortunately, Tachi doesn't have any cross-device sync at the moment. The backups are all in control of the user. Thus it's recommended to store a copy of backup file on a cloud service every few weeks.
I suggest you have a look at the Tachiyomi official website for guides and FAQ, and learn about usefu features, such as creating Categories for favorites in My library.
https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/categories/
Nice to know the migration went well, good luck :)
If you like this app better, I suggest you remove this post and post for Tachiyomi instead. I can help you setup Tachiyomi if you like.
They also have detailed user guide on their website
https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/getting-started/#installing-an-extension
Unfortunately, both kissmanga & mangakakalot don't have any app. don't know about mangaowl though.
But you can download an app in tachiyomi.org. it allows you to bookmark/read/download manga from different sources like kissmanga, mangaowl & mangakakalot (note it does not sync to your individual accounts of those sites). it is a 2 step(or more) installation process cause you need to install the app then the extension (one per website). by default in settings checking for updates is manual you might want to change that after marking all your the chapters you already had read to "read". Some websites/extensions search does not work due to the website's policy like search is only allowed if you are logged-in like manganelo(but mangakakalot works) & mangadex
Use Tachiyomi

Here's a guide to get started
https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/getting-started/
After you install, go to Extensions and download Mangabox and Mangasee extensions. After that, you can use Mangakakalot and Mangasee source (which has 99% of all Manga Rock series)
You can change My Library layout similar to Manga Rock. Go to General > Library manga per row and set it to 3. Also make sure to create Categories and to put your bookmarks.
https://tachiyomi.org/help/guides/categories/
Use the Tachiyomi website for guides, or you can join their discord for more tips from users and mods.
I never used MangaRock before all of this, but ever since they removed all of the manga from their website, it looks like they've lost a lot of traffic for their website. I understand some of their reasoning behind what they did, but there are poor people out there who can't afford to buy manga. I do wonder if MangaRock will survive the rest of this decade.
Not sure what language you are using, I found that flutter is the most easiest way to develop app. I coded using react and native before. If compare, to me flutter is like reading ABC.
I also develop a manga app. This one finish about a week: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=life.freemanga.app
a week not including connecting to backend etc.
a week for the app to work. use sample data.
my advice, if you don't have a budget. don't use firebase. unless our app use minimal storage or database. firebase is good, but depend on your budget. once your app grow. you will suffer and hard to break from it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkr.comics
their new app is live on the playstore u ccan try it , its pretty good and getting new content every now and then
