Hmm, on the page it says Steam. Did it say that for you too and it still gave you a gog key? Gog versions of No Man's Sky can't do multiplayer with people on the Steam version, as far as I've heard.
Edit: Went ahead and purchased it, it is a Steam key and worked just fine.
To people who will be playing as soon as the patch arrives, could you kindly confirm what the multiplayer will really be like? It's pretty much confirmed that we can group up in teams of four, we've seen that in the trailers. But they still remained pretty mysterious about the full length of online activity. Here something on the patch notes:
"Team up with a small group of friends and explore the universe together, or be joined by random travellers.
Help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive.
[...]
While wandering the galaxy solo, continue to experience chance encounters with strange floating orbs."
So, will we be finding other players besides our four-member party? Or will the player encounter cap at four, while the rest of the encounters will still be floating orbs?I know this won't be the length of an MMO, and if i were to guess, i would assume the game to connect something like 16 players into the same instance, like The Crew, for example. But we really have no confirmation on that, and that patch note is a little weird.
So if someone could confirm how that will work after testing it out, it would be great! Thanks in advance.

Other minor patches to note:

Do any of the fixes in the 1.51 patch sound like you're problem

The patch isn't quite out for Playstation but it might fix your problem when it does.
No idea what that means.
We don't see other player's in a character form regardless of PS Plus or not.

"Glitches in the simulation have begun to appear. Visualised by strange floating orbs, up to 16 players can see and communicate with one another, and explore the universe together. While interaction with others is currently very limited, this is an important first step into the world of synchronous co-op in No Man’s Sky. While interaction is very limited, VOIP (Voice over IP) allows proximity based voice chat with other nearby explorers. Use portals to quickly travel to more populated planets, or to meet up with friends."
It's hard to fill you in if you've been gone since release since so much has changed! I'd recommend just looking through the official release log and maybe the Civilized Space wiki page.
The most recent change implemented management of small settlements (like Animal Crossing or Sims but less depth, for now) and a much great variety of base building parts.
The waveform engine that is mentioned in the Frontiers Update news for Expedition 3 is a piece of starship technology though, not a multitool. Scroll all the way down to see it in the screenshot of that red exotic's inventory (the middle one of the three upper slots): https://www.nomanssky.com/frontiers-update/

"This community adventure has a different feeling from previous expeditions. Travellers will begin their journey with a technologically unique starship, featuring an advanced waveform engine and powerful frameshift catapult. Preparing this bespoke ship for flight is a specialised process, and travellers will need to thoroughly explore their starting world to escape the toxic atmosphere of planet Gisto Major."
They just released another patch. A fix for this specific bug doesn't appear in the Patch Notes but who knows: https://www.nomanssky.com/2021/04/expeditions-patch-3-35/?cli_action=1617843076.771
Space stations don't have base computers and I can teleport to them. The inability to teleport TO the freighter is nonsensical.
"Teleport Modules may now be built aboard freighters, allowing direct teleportation between bases, space stations, and your capital ship." implies I should be able to travel between all of these.
> An expanded Online experience will bring a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together.
Straight from THIS page.
So, hopefully on the 14th!
I don't think they've announced the release date, but it's available on the experimental branch.

Subnautica VR fan here. I am very excited to play NMS VR. Just a couple of days ago, my Valve Index arrived and boy is it an improvement over the Vive. I haven't played with the Index extensively, but so far my 1060 w/6GB is holding up to the load. Also, I have the 14th off from work so I plan to start a fresh game and play until my eyeballs fall out -- if i can avoid wife aggro :)
I love playing Subnautica because it is so immersive in VR. This game to me is one of the best immersive VR experiences out there. The sound deign makes me feel like I am underwater and the base building pretty good. The vanilla VR GUI is not good but I recently found VR mods on Nexusmods.com that make it mo'betta. Maybe Unknown Worlds would revisit VR if NMS does well..
This was answered in your first question:
> Do i need ps plus for nms online?
> No.
To be clear:
You do not need "PS Plus" to play this game.
At all.
Ever.
It is not mentioned anywhere in their Website as a requirement..

I don't know if it's on Apple store as well, but there some websites that di the same.
All what I really want from HG is to patch everything up and play a stable game without being worried about crashes and bugs.
