I have one! It comes with a adhesive mount but I went ahead and bought a universal mount that hooks onto the back of your rear view mirror. Let me see if I can find it...
Edit: Found it! (Sorry I’m new at commenting)

> Dude had a bunch of bullet holes in his truck for years, but his family had a pretty badass Christmas that year!
Which is funny because this was just as likely shot on a $60 ion camera instead of a $400 GoPro... yet it is still called a 'GoPro'. They have so much free marketing on their side and yet their stock is tanking. (Not to mention the ~$500,000,000 they spent in marketing in 2017 alone.)
TIL Uruguay has tornados. I figured it wasn't NA just because of the motorbikes and casual way the dude was riding into a tornado. https://weather.com/storms/tornado/news/dolores-uruguay-tornado-impacts
The A118C is the one I got and I purchased it on that somewhat-shady looking GearBest website. Other people have ordered from GearBest so it is legitimate. It shipped from China and the instructions were in questionable english, however it works great. The price seems to vary between $45 and $55.
Apparently batteries and the blazing hot sun are a bad combo, so the A118C uses a capacitor which is why it's a popular choice.
/r/dashcam is the subreddit for actual dashcams while /r/roamcam is the subreddit for posting videos.
All White with a red belt and red kerchief around your neck is the traditional garb for San Fermin in Pamplona.
Edit: Here you can see more. I went to Pamplona for San Fermin in 2012 (wore this exact outfit), and it's true that essentially the entire city is wearing this! It's pretty cool!
[perhaps should be noted that I did not go to the bullfight after the run, I'm not a huge fan of that. But San Fermin in general was a lot of fun! As a Louisianian, I could easily compare it to Mardi Gras - just a lot of drinking, partying, music, great food, everyone's your friend...it was worth the visit.]

It's this badboy here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.colinodell.sadtrombonewidget
I also use this one for a couple of other sounds I want for perfectly timed joke purposes: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crema.instant
In that second one when you save a button sound as a favourite it will be available offline. You can save a widget of it on your home screen and it'll work instantly rather than having any internet based or app launching based delays. I keep buttons for that dramatic dun dun DUUUUUUUHHHHN sound and one which plays the start of Marvin Gaye's Let's Get it On.
Oh and I also have a button using a different app for an instant hip hop air horn which I use to say good morning to my housemate. I can't find it in the play store though..
Depends on the airline. As of 2011 Southwest's fleet's average age was 11. But I wouldn't put it past some airlines.
EDIT: Found a more recent source: https://www.fool.com/investing/2017/07/03/average-fleet-age-of-the-10-major-us-airlines.aspx
I've never driven a dump truck, but I've spent enough time around tractors for this one.
> turn the PTO on (I forget what that stands for)
Yeah, figured it out. Fastly.net is what HTTPS Everywhere redirects to, apparently.
>The stable and development releases of HTTPS Everywhere currently rewrite requests to fastly.net (or its subdomains). Millions of browsers will be affected by these rewrites.
> I’ve wanted to get a dash cam for a while
You got an android device? Try this out. Pretty amazing little app to tide you over until you commit to a normal cam.
The mini0805 - it's one of the low-end cameras but has decent reviews, the videos I've seen demonstrating day and night video look pretty good, and best of all, it happened to be on sale (and still is for a couple days) for a ridiculously good price here.
Aftermath (translated from his gf's VK - Russian equivalent of Facebook - link courtesy of youtube comments)
"He has lost all nerve endings in the right arm and shoulder, has a crushed left foot, head trauma, and lost much of the skin on his legs. There is a chance of recovering (some?) use of the arm."
I went into this thinking "there's no way you can actually buy donuts on Amazon" but I was wrong if anyone actually wants to pay $40 a dozen
I posted this elsewhere in this thread, but figure couldn't hurt to put it here too.
This is a really good free app that pretty much does everything a regular dashcam does. Worth dl'ing and using it while you decide on if you get a standalone cam.
I just flip around my gooseneck phoneholder so the cam can shoot out the windshield. It has a bunch of nice extras included... might want to give it shat.
Larger, yes.
Faster, no.
Smarter? Debatable. Especially since sharks are nothing like the instinctive creatures people think they are.
Orcas are clearly skilled apex predators that deserve respect, but let's not get carried away.
Comparing a a car going 5mph with one going 60mph, the more stop lights on the road, the more chances for the slower car to catch up, thereby reducing the amount of time saved by speeding. Here is a nice walkthrough that explains it better:
https://lifehacker.com/does-speeding-really-get-you-there-any-faster-1556767685
What is confusing about it? I assume you know what a highway is, so maybe try buckle in the dictionary. Right there under definition 4.
Actually, no, because this indestructible smart car wouldn't "slice through normal cars with no damage to itself", it would bounce off subjecting the driver to, like, a triple change in speed (and therefore acceleration). And even a usual smart car that tries to crumple as best as it can is subject to the same problem.
It's the damned physics. If two billiard balls of the same mass elastically collide, they both bounce away at the same speed. If a light ball collides with a heavy ball then it bounces away at its own speed + the speed of the heavy ball. (by the way, that's how gravity assist works).
You can try to make the collision as inelastic as possible by transferring energy into crumpling stuff, but even then, a smart car weighing 0.8 tons colliding with a three-ton pickup, when both drive at 50mph, would result in a wreck continuing on at 28mph, with the pick-up driver experiencing a 21 mph equivalent collision, and the smart car driver experiencing a 78 mph equivalent collision (equivalent collision means colliding with an immovable concrete wall).
For a 70 mph head-to-head collision the smart driver is in for a 110 mph equivalent collision...
So this results in an ethically unpleasant conclusion: if you value your safety, you should drive as heavy a car as reasonable, so that in an event of collision you take the least damage.
They migrated over to SaidIt: https://saidit.net/s/WatchPeopleDie
There was talk at one time of making their own site called Deadit (see /r/DeaditUpdate), but last I heard they shelved that because SaidIt was working well enough for them.
No need to spend that much. Been happy with my Spytech A119 for one year so far.
This raises so many questions. Why are people who want to avoid large boats buying a 500 dollar study on Chinese toilet seats?
I got one after an Uber driver ran and red light and totalled my truck. Then any witness I had just simply drove off leaving just me to say I had a green turn arrow and the Uber driver is full of shit.
Now I'll have it on camera, because this is Portland, OR and if you don't want to have your car get hit then you don't live in Portland, OR apparently (has double the collision rate then the national average at 6 years)
These work better for saloon doors.
If you're interested in that, I highly recommend Rabid. It's fascinating and available through Overdrive if your library is enrolled.
