It could be keto breath. I have heard them talk about these drops in the Intermittent Fasting Podcast and have been thinking of trying them but I haven't yet so I can't say how good these are. Wow Drops, 0.338 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000S854FA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mnooBbEV7RFBR
Keto, CICO and IF helped me drop weight fairly fast.
What kind of interests do you have? Do you socialize a lot? Maybe going to an active club that is social could help too! Meetup.com is great for those things and you can meet good people.
If the feeling won't bother you there are silicone things you can put on the bottom of your ring to keep it from sliding off, like these from Amazon
When I eat carbs and sugar the cravings are unbearable and actually painful. My one meal a day is stuffed with protein and veggies. If I get really hungry after, I eat a small snack of a little fruit and nuts, a small veggie smoothie, some almond butter on a few apple slices. Start slow, do not make yourself suffer.
I also found drinking water with Buoy: https://www.amazon.com/Buoy-Electrolytes-Servings-Hydrating-Sustained/dp/B07JBKFDGW
and taking magnesium pills helped somewhat.
That's a lot of protein, do you lift?
I use cronometer.com to write everything down. I need about 75gr of protein every day, and I usually hit it. Go for lean chicken/turkey (add fat to the recipe, but go for the lean mean to get the most protein). Pork rinds also have lots of protein per gram.
Also, on OMAD you are not supposed to use the same macros as in normal keto btw. According to Dr Berg, up to 50% fat is ok. Carbs still need to be 25gr net or lower (with lots of greens), and protein needs to be up. So basically, that 20% that you take from keto's 70% fat, you give it to protein and to carbs (but without going over 25gr net). Even with more protein you won't get kicked out of ketosis. This is unique for OMAD only.
I fried up some onion and garlic first... I added microwaved frozen cauliflower rice... then made a circle in the middle to cook up an egg... scrambled it in the pan with it... but here's the real secret.. I added a fried mix that I got from a japanese store. They sell them on amazon and it's a real easy way to make fried rice.

I just get coffee that’s good enough to drink black. Right now I’m about halfway thru a 48 count box of Cinnabon k-pods that I keep under my desk. Even black it’s like drinking a warm cinnamon roll. It’s hard to believe there are no calories or sugar in it.
If your leafy greens come in the form of a salad I would recommend getting a salad chopper like this.
I will allow you to breakdown the greens into smaller particles so they won’t fill you up as much.
I actually own that exact one and use it for a heartier green salad (e.g. raw kale salads) because I hate needing to chew so much.
Here is my source view on "supplements"
Let me know your thoughts....if you are interested. Thanks.
I highly recommend using https://cronometer.com/
You can get a free account and input exactly what you ate. It'll then tell you calorie count AND give you a macro nutrient breakdown AND micro-nutrient count as well so you can have a high level of assurance that you are eating a balanced diet (or find you aren't and correct it)
Orly... that’s interesting. And exceedingly unusual if true.
Plug your values into https://cronometer.com/ and see where you are with your macros and micros.
You probably need some meat in there. Or a lot of supplements to make up the difference.
88 pounds of fat is 308,000 calories. Over 7 months that's about 11,000 a week. So if you can cut your maintenance calories by about 11,000 a week sure. That's like 1550 a day so might be a bit rough unless you're doing a fair bit of cardio. Personally I'd suggest getting something like https://cronometer.com/ and using that to lose "2 pounds a week". Probably come a bit short of your goal but I think it'd probably be much more realistic.
So I was eating between 4-5 when I was home without my S/O for the first two weeks of my OMAD. But he can't eat dinner that early so I shifted it back to 530-630. I prefer the earlier time but this is our only meal together and when we are both super busy with work it's really the only time we can have together during the week.

I also read this article earlier today. It does discuss Time Restricted Feeding more than I've seen other articles that were about general weight loss rather than weight loss with fasting.
At this point, they've tied your account to the ads. Not really much you can do at this point aside from making a new account and blocking their trackers through browser extensions. I recommend Ghostery and/or Privacy Badger, and also try to use browsers like Firefox instead of Chrome (which has built-in trackers that send everything straight to Google).
FYI: I got these on Amazon a ways back and they really did the trick. I had the exact same symptoms. I'm also gonna guess your lytes are just a little off.

I like these because I believe this form of magnesium is more readily absorbed than the more common magnesium oxide. I gotta say, it can work fast, so be prepared. Typically, I’ll take two tablets in the morning and two tablets before my evening meal.
Yes, I do. There are much cheaper options but I take the stuff in the link below because it works so I never looked at other options.
https://www.amazon.com/Electrolyte-Capsules-Potassium-Magnesium-Maltodextrin/dp/B07RCVX27G
You need an Electrolyte Supplement.
https://www.amazon.com/Electrolyte-Supplement-Hydration-Potassium-Magnesium/dp/B01MXDAHIB
This stuff can be squeezed into any water you drink like Mio. It provides Potassium, Magnesium, and Sodium, and does NOT break your fast.
I work out constantly when I'm in a fasted state. My job is very intensive and I'm sweating during the whole 8 hours. I do my morning workout AND my job in a fasted state, I eat late at night around 9pm.
I get lightheaded and dizzy too, but one drink with my electrolytes and I feel completely normal again.
Saw your edit. So I had a similar experience this January which was super frustrating: I was eating about the same meal (but generally more fish) and I lost only one pound the whole month, however my belly vanished completely even though I east still 15 lbs overweight.
The only difference between them and now was that I was in a busy and stressful time at work and I was taking an adrenal fatigue supplement and I believe it full stopped weight loss processes that IF activates. A part of IF is the low key stress and I guess the supplement wouldn’t let my body experience it so the magic never started.
Here’s the supplement:
https://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Support-containing-Ashwagandha-Schizandra/dp/B0131EDZKS
Back then I religiously took supplements with my meal, I still do but I take a lot of amino acids like glycine and l-theanine at night and even took 50 calories of sugary sleep pills (I have trouble sleeping) and I still woke up 1lbs lighter.
https://www.amazon.com/Electrolyte-Supplement-Hydration-Potassium-Magnesium/dp/B01MXDAHIB
https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Keto-Flu-Electrolyte-Supplement/dp/B07FN5G6QC
The first product adds electrolytes to your water, will NOT break your fast.
The second product is pills you can swallow with water, will NOT break your fast.
I have an intensive job, I am sweating throughout. All I need is some electrolytes. I've even worked in the middle of a 48 hour fast. Did just fine.
Sodium, potassium and magnesium. Those 3 work together so get all of them.
There are definitely cheaper options but I never looked into because these work for me, I just take one with my meal and then take a couple if I start to feel "off". When I do multi day fasts I take 2 of them twice a day and then one or two if I feel I need it.
https://www.amazon.com/Electrolyte-Capsules-Potassium-Magnesium-Maltodextrin/dp/B07RCVX27G
Oh here is what I do for electrolytes, there are much cheaper options but these work for me so I never looked for other options. I actually try to get potassium, sodium and magnesium in my meals so I don't take them all the time but I have them on hand if I need them. I did use them more when I first started and I definitely use them on extended fasts.
My favorite is one called One Meal a Day by Pong Lizardo. No nonsense, funny, inspiring and easier to digest than a lot of the dry science stuff. I love Dr Fung and The Obesity code is great, but sometimes I need something a bit lighter and more to the point. I wish this book got more love!
https://www.amazon.com/One-Meal-Day-Improved-Health-ebook/dp/B07ZKJJJRT
Are you doing OMAD for weight loss? If yes, I got just the thing for you!
The Obesity Code
I’m really liking Life in the Fasting Lane by Jason Fung so far. Less of a clinical guide than his other books.
Life in the Fasting Lane: How to Make Intermittent Fasting a Lifestyle―and Reap the Benefits of Weight Loss and Better Health https://www.amazon.com/dp/0062969447/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KsOeFbK8DAZ69
Definitely a cold fan. I make a "bootleg" cold brew using this little tool from amazon
Sodium/Magnesium/Potassium. You sound like you need electrolytes, you can buy supplements that have all 3.
EDIT 2: What you are experiencing is most likely a condition called "Keto Flu" if you want to google it.
EDIT: I take these (amazon link), there are cheaper options but I just know these work so I buy them.
I have a huge problem drinking water, because I'm a weirdo that only drinks when I eat and that's just between 5 and 9 at night. I got this nifty thing off Amazon and it has been really helpful https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G2C1T69/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_YCMVEb3KXC24R Also, water bottles with straws.
>Is there any supplements I can take or anything I can add to my water so this doesn’t happen?
Yes, yes there is. There is definitely cheaper versions but these work for me and I am lazy. Amazon link below:
Just a little more info in case you end up going a few days.
You are clearing out your glucose and glycogen stores (carbs) in your body. 1 gram of carbs hold onto approximately 3 grams of water. That means you are going to pee a lot. So you need to stay hydrated and get your electrolytes.
I'm lazy, I take these CLICK HERE FOR AMAZON LINK
But a popular version is called 'snake juice' (just google it) or there is other cheap options....that stuff I linked works for me so I just use it.
The greens I use come from Costco. In the refrigerated produce section they have big bags called “Power Greens” which has spinach, kale, and Swiss chard in it. It’s a perfect blend right out of the bag for me.
As far as the salmon... no, it’s not precooked. I get it flash frozen straight from the fisherman himself. I’m lucky to have a shop here that’s open twice a year with fresh-from-the-ocean-fish. I buy 15-20 pounds every 6 months.
Cooking it is really simple, I’ll get a baking sheet and , after thawing it out, I simply place it there next to my veggies for the night. I’ll sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder on it along with the veggies. Bake it all together at 325F for about 12-15 minutes and voila. Cleanup is just the 1 baking sheet, too. I don’t do that every single night because I love a ribeye or filet mignon once per week. I cook those with my Sous vide ( Anova Culinary AN500-US00 Anova Precision Cooker, 1000 Watts, Black and Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WQ4M5TS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_QqzYDb79XJR2D ).
The Sous vide is great because the steak comes out PERFECT every time and you don’t have to babysit it at all while it cooks. Plus, you don’t lose any of the fat or juice like you do with the grill. When it’s done cooking you also have some great jus for the steak. Since I got this Sous vide a couple of years ago I haven’t grilled a steak since. It’s that good. Pan sear it in butter once it’s finished cooking (reverse sear). Mouth watering.
RENPHO Bluetooth Body Fat Scale Smart BMI Scale Digital Bathroom Wireless Weight Scale, Body Composition Monitors Analyzer with Smartphone App 396 lbs digital weight scale - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N1UX8RW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SPf1DbSBJAVAV
> I’m gonna buy a body fat scale that has Bluetooth and and an app tonight
I have 2 cheap ones, if I were to buy one now I'd pick this one.
> switched to alternate day fasting 1200 calorie meals.
I've done ADF, it was tough. I think the most I did was 3 sets in a row.
> A lot of people tell me I look skinny and I’m overdoing it but I think we all know good is the enemy of great, and also, if you’re tall, you can carry / hide things well
I don't mean it in an offensive way, but for me it's hard to see how someone 6 feet 200 lbs could look "too skinny". I like using this BMI site, and putting in your stats gives a 27. I think the people around you are just so used to you looking a certain way, anything less looks weird to them. 170 puts you dead center in the normal BMI zone. You're on the right track, keep going.
> You definitely started closer to your ideal weight so I think it’s slightly different
Yeah, no one in my personal life noticed any difference, and that's because at my weight with a shirt on, it's just not noticeable.
> I’m also eating ketogenically
Are you doing it to lose weight faster?
> (I can definitely run5/6 miles if I want)
Is that how far you normally run? How often do you run? I've only recently started doing longer runs of like 8+ miles. I'm sort of in a crunch mode trying to up my mileage every week to be ready for my first marathon in November.
Hi! I always highly suggest this Collagen Peptides powder for a few reasons!
I’ve heard orgain makes a good flavorless one too, but is higher-calorie (only by about 40cal per scoop, IIRC). I just enjoy it because it’s nice to break a fast with without feeling heavy and bloated like whey protein normally does to me - also helps me hit my ridiculously high protein goals for the day while still staying within my cal budget!
Hope this long-winded explanation was helpful!!
I bought a set like this from Costco. the set I got had two pans in it one smaller and one large for like $32. That 8”-10” one seems nice if you’re just doing eggs and pancakes don’t really need anything much bigger than that.
My doctor said to mix some fiber with your Orange Juice and drink it at the end of/after your OMAD and stop worrying about undigested food and cholesterol so much. 'Nuff said; more drinks for me.
I get this if I don't get some electrolytes in me in the morning hours. I do take supplements with my OMAD dinner every day, but I get to a point where I start to feel like I'm running on empty around 2P in the afternoon (I eat about 5:30-6).
If I take more of the potassium, etc., supplements I take with food in the evening, it'll make me sick to my stomach. But I have had luck with these - https://www.amazon.com/High-Zero-Calorie-Electrolyte-Drink/dp/B008KM5MJY. Other people supplement throughout the day.
Also make absolutely sure you're drinking enough water. I drink 3L of water per day and definitely lag if I don't - dehydration will usually hit in the afternoon.
I was just thinking of ordering this, would it be worth it?
Can you tell me your melatonin dosage per pill?
Almonds or any nut you like are a good source of calories. I'm a dairy junkie and I guess it shows in my suggestions. If you don't like butter, any fat will do. I think they all have around 120 or so calories per tablespoon. An extra drizzle of olive oil on your pasta or an olive oil based dip with some crusty Italian bread is good too. If you like Asian food or stir fry, you can add coconut oil for a caloric boost. Some people drink coconut milk as a high fat, high calorie alternative to dairy milk and non dairy milks.
This is a good start... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0970679645/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0970679645&linkCode=as2&tag=zchealth-20&linkId=6SJ35PICOCRHWG6C
I went complete carnivore on Jan 2nd, 0 fiber or vegetables since then and have 0 issues with bathroom habits, bloating, etc. Fiber is not necessary for a healthy, normal functioning digestive system.
From the Dr. Fung book on Fasting.
> If you experience dizziness during your fast, most likely, you're becoming dehydrated. Preventing this requires both salt and water. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids, and in case you're low on salt, add some extra salt to broth or mineral water.
> Another possibility is that your blood pressure is too low-- particularly if you're taking medications for hypertension. Speak to your physician about adjusting your medication.
Dr. Dr. Bernstein (of the Diabetes Solution book) observed that almost 100% of his diabetic patients had psoriasis.
He didn't argue that psoriasis is caused by the sort of metabolic issues that fasting and low-carb diets tend to improve, but it does make one wonder.
