Gotcha, thanks for all the additional details! :)
Almost ironically, I found this from AccuBattery about their app being killed while being in the background. If youre able to lock the app in recents, that could be worth trying out as well!
Could you also please check that these (copied from dontkillmyapp) steps are still active for you? OnePlus does clear them from time to time.
They do also have an app that tracks how often alarms are delayed. By itself it wont really solve much, but it could provide you with insights as to how aggressive the battery optimizer is on your phone in particular.

>Turn off System Settings > Apps > Gear Icon > Special Access > Battery Optimization.
WARNING: Recently OnePlus phones started reverting this setting randomly for random apps. So if you set it to be not optimized, the next day it may be back to optimized.
To avoid the system to automatically revert the not optimized setting, you must also lock the app into the ‘Recent App’ list, see the solution above or here.
Turn off System settings > Battery > Battery optimization, switch to ‘All apps’ in top right menu > Your app > Don’t optimize
NOTE: Some of our users indicated that you need to disable Doze mode in Developer options in 1+3 and earlier.
I am using headphones. Zolo Liberty+ Bluetooth (now Anker). I have two sets of the same ones and both have done the same. I pick the most charged pair when I get to the gym. Phone has been rebooted. There was an O/S update I applied Sunday night but it happened on Monday too. I can try with some Soundbeats Q30 HDs if that would help. Not my normal set but very different.
Hi Tim! While I havent tried it myself, this [1] seems promising! If theres enough interest, I might also create an email list that you can opt into to get notified about the big updates, I wouldnt want to spam for every small update though!

Ok :) Great, could you check back with me in a few more sessions to see if it sticks? I do wonder why it would have such a big impact though, could you also please check if theres an update available to the google play services for you? As always, Ill see what I can dig up in the meantime!
Hey!
Are you able to see any files under /Android/data/workout.progression/? If youre not, please try downloading Solid Explorer - I can verify that it works on Android 11. The read file permission is gone with Android 11, instead you share the files with Progression.
With all of that said, perhaps Im misunderstanding your situation - but I take it youre looking to do all of this on your new device, but theres no data stored by the app on there. If youre just looking to move your data between phones, Xiaomi has an app for that. Let me know if I misunderstood you :)
Understand the feeling, fam! Zoltan had mentioned his drive was wiped, and has yet to upload the apk again. So unless a good samaritan shares it, we're out of luck.
Personally, I've temporarly moved to Daily Strength.
> I fired up my old barely functioning Nexus 5
all theses years later, it's STILL a useful phone!
> What Nexus and what android version is it on?
Other than my primary device, every device that I have @ my disposal will be running android 10.
> My N5 seemed to be running the latest version of Progression fine
I was able to get the APK for progression off of a friend's phone. He's already upgraded that phone to Android 11, so the app is installed... just not functional.
Unfortunately I am still getting the "a required service is not available. please contact the app developer" message when I try to log into google drive on the 'fresh' phone running android 10. It seems as though there's some server-side flag (controlled by the developer?!) that hides / disables the APK on installs and also disables the google drive sync.
When i go to the play store i see the dreaded This app is incompatible with all of your devices.
message. I know that at least one of the devices on my account is compatible w/ Progression as that device used to run it. This is why i believe that something server side / dev side has been 'flipped'.
I think i'm SoL; the only way to have a working Progression install is:
I have an old device that runs android 10, so the second point is met, but the first one is not and can't be met w/o a time machine. :(.
EDIT: I'll probably move to something like FitNotes and either keep using it or write a program to transform FitNotes data into a format that Progression can import once the final v2 is out and the data model is confirmed.
Im adding in support for google drive again sometime during the beta phase, which will start in 1-2 more preview releases! If youve opted in to the beta program through the play store youll get it automatically as soon as it lands; you can find that here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=workout.progression.lite. Please sit tight :) I just want to finalize most of the app before I work on integrating with services like google drive and the like!
Hmm, Ive flagged the app incompatible with devices on Android 11 so you wont be able to reinstall it until 2.0 (or its beta) rolls out Im afraid :(
Im pretty much forced to do this since the app doesnt work on android 11 and it would go against the play store policy & probably confuse a lot of people in general.
You should still be able to sign up for the beta program through here, and you can play around with the preview releases that Ive posted on here - #4 works on Android 11 :)
I think it's related to the play services not being updated, could you please check if that's the case? You can find them on the play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.ims
